Happy Ground Hog Day!

Mornin'! The crowds have begun to gather at Gobblers Knob in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania to see if the Groundhog sees his shadow (meaning 6 more weeks of Winter). They'll know more in just over an hour or so. But, isn't there a huge storm over that section of the country...making it a no-brainer? Not sure about a bright sun rising this morning determining Punxsutawney Phil's decision to run or stay due to fearing his own shadow and making it public about the arrival of the Spring or continuation of Winter. Remains to be seen but my guess is no shadow today. Wildwood's not going to see any shadows this morning. We're involved in this massive storm, but thankfully it's only rain. Right now the fog's encasing the island, it's raining and currently 39° and will get up into the 50's today! The southerly winds (15-25mph) are bringing mild air to our coast and we'll miss the snow and ice that many of the areas around us are receiving. We'll continue to get rain until this afternoon and may even see peeks of sun later. Keep tide times in mind when out and about as I'm sure we'll see flooding with all this rain. High tide:7:16p.m.; Low tide:1:15p.m.; Ocean temp: 39°. Phil did NOT see his shadow...Spring-is-a-comin' - 47 more days!

My Aunt and Uncle, both psychiatrists, married on Ground Hog Day intentionally. I think "Dark Shadows" were seen on their wedding night.

Dark Shadows was always on at 4:00pm. Mid-day fun vampire entertainment for the after school kids.

NOTE: Phil the GH said SPRING is on the WAY!

gracias Dodi. Just posted Phil's daybreak reaction. Guess it was "dark shadows" come to think about it. Didn't we all love Barnabas Collins???

Collingswood, NJ: I always wondered that town's connection to "Dark Shadows". (Am I hallucinating or am I under "Barnie"'s spell?)

wait. Dark Shadows was based in Collingswood, NJ? Is that really true? How does one get these facts?... I'm thinking wikileakia?
