Wind Chill Advisories Posted!

Mornin'!  Slept in today...blog's a little later than most days.  It's 24° in sunny Wildwood (Ms Sun's been up a little while now).  There are some cumulous clouds in the brilliant blue sky.  But the winds are the main attraction this weekend as they're-a-howling and making their intense presence known.  The chill factor is making it feel like 9° with the 30-35mph winds.  It'll be very cold as temps drop today. We're expecting a high of 20° and with those winds gusting to 40+mph...we're talking a "Wind Chill Advisory" posted by the Nat'l Weather Service.  Temps + winds = 10° below zero today and even lower tonight.  So...partly sunny and very windy is the forecast for today, tonight and tomorrow.  I keep trying to wrap my mind around the fact that Sea Isle City (a couple islands north of us) intends to continue with plans for having its polar plunge today (one of their island's biggest annual events).  I'm thinking not just that someone should pull the "cancel" plug but I'm sure tomorrow's Sunday newspaper will have lots of frostbite stories or even worse. Keep them all in your prayers as it is to benefit city wide events sponsored by the Sea Isle City Chamber of Commerce and Revitalization.  Thousands are running into the 40° ocean!
High tide:11:40a.m.
Low tide:5:29p.m.
Ocean temp:40°
Sunset:5:35p.m.
Oh and by the way it's 53° in New Orleans.
