See You In September!

Mornin'!  It's 67° in Wildwood NJ. September's checking out with a bang! See ya next year and don't let the wet door hit you in the ass! We've got advisory postings today..."hazardous weather advisory", "flash flood watch advisory", "coastal flood advisory", "high rip current risk advisory". Today's "new moon" (or "black moon" which is two new moons in one month) will be creating 1-2 feet higher than usual tides and add to that all this rain that has no where to drain so we're talking awareness of high tide times. Take heed of those flood sirens and move your vehicle to higher ground before it's too late and try not to drive through flood water.  In North Wildwood...Surf Avenue is about as high as you can get and in Wildwood...New Jersey Avenue near the Municipal Building is high ground.  Getting off and on the island could be tricky during high tides as North Wildwood is usually the less flooded and most traversed during flooding.  Ok...enough of the tides and flooding...the joys of island living huh?  It'll be another rainy, windy day today with steady rain this morning and showers this afternoon.  We just might see a peek or two of Ms Sun.  But, I'm not betting on that.  Temps will be in the low 70s.  Winds will be out of the NE at 20-30mph with gusting as high as 40+ mph.  Tonight...scattered showers/thunderstorms with temps in the upper 60s and winds out of the NE at 10-20mph.  Tomorrow...more rain and higher than usual tides with less windy conditions.  Sunday...looking partly sunny!
High tides:8:15a.m. and 8:28p.m.
Low tide:2:05p.m.
Ocean temp:73°
Sunset:6:45p.m.
Rip Current: Red zone (very hazardous surf conditions)
Italian Fest is cancelled by the way and the Mid-Atlantic Police and Fire Survivors weekend looks to be still planned as scheduled.
