Grayness Ahead!

Mornin'!  It's 49° in Wildwood NJ.  We've got cloud cover,  breezy conditions (E-NE 18-22mph) and no mist, fog or rain "yet".  We've got some miserable weather up ahead with temps dropping to the low-mid 40s by this afternoon while the clouds have a 50% chance of opening up and raining down on the island. Winds will ramp up out of the NE at 20-25mph.  Tonight...it'll be no better with temps in the upper 30s, periods of rain, and NE winds at 18-22mph.  After yesterday's incredibly gorgeous day and a real sneak preview of Spring (we had a high of 67° with Ms Sun heating the island...so grateful for that loveliness), we're in for a rude awakening as it'll feel damp and raw today and tonight (and tomorrow and Saturday and Sunday for that matter).  While out doing a little bike riding and running errands yesterday...here's a few things I noted: first, a new pier is being constructed in North Wildwood on the beach at 22nd and the Boardwalk.  It'll be called "Seaport Pier" and be home to a new restaurant, bars, coffee shop, concert venue (bandshell) and swim-up pool bar; 2nd...Walmart on the mainland (Rt 9) is under complete reconstruction (still open and functioning though and I don't know how they can do that) as a Super Walmart is-a-coming our way!  We'll now have another option for grocery shopping in the southern part of the county.  And, leaving on a very good note...it was still light outside at 5:45p.m. last evening!
High tide:12:33p.m.
Low tide:6:15p.m.
Ocean temp:39°
Sunset:5:46p.m.
