Ditto From Yesterday!

TBT - Summer of 2008 - North Wildwood beach
Mornin'!  It's 76° in Wildwood NJ.  Ms Sun's up and shining down on the island.  Not much in the line of breezes (N-NW at 2-4mph).  It's a beauty this morning with plenty of island birds chirping away welcoming the new day.  I could cut and past yesterday's weather post as it'll be a repeat of all that.  Expect blue skies with temps in the mid-upper 80s and light breezes.  Initially, the breeze will come from the NW then shift from the SW then shift again from the S-SE and finally by this afternoon... from the South all at 5-7mph.  Keep that insect repellent handy if hitting the beach as any "west" wind (even when attached to another direction like "NW" or "SW") can bring those greenhead biting flies.  They were waiting for us yesterday with teeth bared.  I got bit a couple times as did my hubby before pulling out the repellent.   I'm not complaining though as yesterday's beach day was pretty much a "10" in my opinion once the wind shifted and the flies took off in the early afternoon.   Expect that to repeat today and tomorrow and even Saturday.  So, for today... hot and sunny with the best place to be is on that beach!  Tonight... clear with temps back down into the mid-70s and Westerly breezes at 2-5mph.  The next cloudy, possibly rainy day is Sunday as there's a 40% chance of showers and/or scattered thunderstorms.  And if heading to the beach, here's another reminder that the beach sand (especially those extremely long beaches in Wildwood and Wildwood Crest) is blistering hot.  It's not only very upsetting to witness but appalling to me that parents don't have footwear on their children.  I saw 2 little ones screaming in pain yesterday as they ran through that scorching sand trying to find sand that was bearable and didn't burn (near the ocean).  What's with such thoughtless parents/adults?!  Footwear folks!  Footwear!
