Somewhat Cloudy and Windy Plunge Day

Mornin'!  It's 49° in Wildwood NJ.  We're under hazy skies.  I can see the moon in the haze as the sky is far from clear and not allowing the twinkling stars to be seen.  It's breezy... winds out of the S-SW at 13-17mph.  I can hear the roar of the surf quite a few blocks away thanks to all those clouds above.  I live on the marsh side of the island and don't always get to hear the ocean.  We've got the Polar Plunge in Wildwood today!  It's 1PM at the Convention Center beach.  I know it's for the Special Olympics and all but those running into the drink are of unsound mind in my opinion.  I don't even want to imagine what that feels like.  Keep in mind these shivering, bathing suit-clad (and costumed) folk are walking from their vehicles to the beach (a fairly long walk for those undressed) and then stand there for at least 20 minutes jumping up and down waiting for the gun to go off so they can run as fast as possible to the 42° ocean.  Then, their soaking wet bodies must get back to that vehicle.  Another thing to keep in mind... Wildwood's beach at the Convention Center is about 4 football fields deep.  It is something to witness everyone excitedly heading to the ocean. It's quite a strange phenomenon.  If you can't make it, there's another in North Wildwood on February 22nd. That fund raiser is for our Fallen Heroes.
For today's weather... the plungers have much to be grateful for as it'll continue to be unseasonably mild. Expect mostly cloudy  skies (some sun peeking in), with temps in the upper 50's. Those annoying winds out of the S-SW will ramp up to 20-25mph keeping things feeling quite cold if you're wet. Tonight... mostly cloudy and even windier. Temps will drop to the upper 40s / low 50s with S-SW winds at 25-35mph gusting at times to 50mph.  There's a 60% chance of rain beginning tonight as well.  Sunday... it's looking like rain and winds on the overnight tonight as we wake to any rain leftover tomorrow morning.  For the most part though, it looks like a mostly sunny, mild day with temps in the low-60s (I can't believe I'm typing that) with winds simmered down.
