New Moon Monday and Heat Wave Time

Mornin!  It's 84° in Wildwood NJ.  We've got  Key West conditions this morning with blue skies, humidity at 85% and dewpoint... 77° with hardly a breeze out of the W-NW at 3-5mph.  It's warm this morning!  It feels like 95° (heat index) and it's only 8AM.  Expect a hot one today as temps continue to climb... mid-upper 90s (and that's not the heat index) with West winds (land breezes) at 10-15mph.  We're going to have some hazy clouds in the mix as well with 20% chance of rain showers and/or thunderstorms.  Tonight... partly cloudy, mid-upper 70s and those West winds at 5-10mph.  Tomorrow... a much better summer day with temps barely tapping 90°!  The winds will be out of the East (off the ocean) and much more comfortable.  Okay, so for today, if heading the beach, it's going to be extreme.  That Wildwood "white" sand will be almost unbearably hot... footwear people!  Not to mention, pack water, sunscreen, hat, umbrella and insect repellent.  No doubt the green head flies will be heading to the beach today with those West winds.  Quite frankly... not one of those great beach days today.  Also, don't forget to keep your eye on the sky or doppler as this build up of extreme heat will almost inevitably bring the storms.  It's the New Moon today meaning there's barely a moon up in the sky but the effects are the same as a Full Moon... the Tides will be much higher and lower than normal.  You could very well see the sea water seeping into the streets. Careful where you park your vehicle as there are many low-lying areas on the island!
