Adios April!

Mornin'!  It's 53° this last daybreak of April.  That month flew by didn't it?  Today will be a mix of weather as the morning will bring with it clouds and showers and breezes off the ocean.  Speaking of ocean...it's loud and clear as the roar of the waves crashing can be heard 6 blocks away.  Today will begin with clouds and showers but everywhere I've checked says we'll see clearing sometime this last day of April.  Peeks of sun are due in this afternoon while the breezes die down a bit coming from the East at 15-20mph.  Temps will be in the mid-upper 50's and maybe even tapping the 60° mark.

Washout

Mornin'!  It's 53° in rainy Wildwood.  It's looks like the start to the day and week is going to be wet, dreary and a bit raw.  Since it's Monday, I'll call it miserable too.  It's currently raining at a good clip as the breezes have begun to kick up.  They'll kick up even more as the day progresses coming from the SE at 25-30mph.  Temps will be in the mid-hi 50's as the rain continues throughout the day into the overnight and even into tomorrow.  After this beautiful weekend, this washout will be tough to take.  Speaking of weekend...no blog yesterday as I did a little road trip to our daughter's Saturday and the Philadelphia area was actually sunny and warm and in the mid-70's and a true preview of summer.  It's coming...53 days until Summer.  But the true weekend highlight was feeling my first grandbaby roll around and kick the palm of my hand!

Perfect Spring Day down the Shore

Mornin'!  It's 45° in Wildwood this early morn.  It's another lovely daybreak.  The sky is lightening as the sunrise is-a-coming.  No breezes to write about!  I can't believe it's this still and quite outside.  The stillness is allowing the sounds of the birds come through and they seem to be everywhere.  It's like the island's coming alive with all kinds of birdcalls.  Add to that the fragrance of the sea in the background and you have a very peaceful and beautiful start to the day.  This is what I'd call a perfect Spring morning at the shore.  Today's weather will be much like yesterday...very mild as temps tap the 60's again with sun shining all day and winds hardly noticable.  While we're on winds...they'll be mostly light breezes beginning from the NE, then shifting from the East and finally by days end shift again from the SE all at 5-10mph.  Tomorrow's weather...much less sun but still on the mild side.

A Very Good Friday

Mornin'!  It's 45° in WW.  It's actually a nice Spring morning as breezes are minimal, the sky is clear and bright and the full moon is setting as the sun rises.  It's all happening with some sea air in that mix.  Lovely.   It'll be nice today as the sun warms the island with breezes out of the NW at 9-12mph and temps tapping the 60° mark.  The moon continues to be somewhat full and provide extra high tides.  The weekend's looking pretty good as tomorrow seems to be a repeat of today; Sunday not as much.  I was lucky to be on the beach last night when the moon rose and it was an incredibly beautiful evening and something that just never gets old.

Prenumbral Eclipse Day

Mornin'!  It's 48° in Wildwood.  It's gray and chilly and raw with those nasty NW winds still stealing the show here.  Jeez...enough already...it's feeling alot like March this month!   Light showers are coming down at the moment.  Temps are heading to the mid-upper 50's as the showers check out and the Sun begins shining late this morning/early afternoon.  Winds will begin to diminish and shift from the N-NW at 20-25mph to the SW at 5-10mph.  It's "full moon" day as well as an eclipse but our section of the world won't see it as the moon will still be under the horizon while eclipsing.  In fact, it's already started.  Let's not forgot those tides as they will be higher than usual with the moon's draw so don't drive through ocean water in the street!

Sunny and Breezy

Mornin'!  It's 44° in WW this sunny, brisk morning.  Temps are heading to the 60's once again...yay!!!  It'll be sunny and breezy today with breezes coming from the S-SW initially at 20-25mph and shifting a bit from the South and ramping up at 25-30mph with 40mph gusts.  I'd venture to say it'll be a bad hair afternoon.  Oh...keep an eye open for the flooding as there's a Full Moon tomorrow and already the tides are showing their intensity.  I thought for sure Rt. 47 was going to take on water last night after sunset as the grasses and reeds in the marshes were nowhere to be seen...only water out there and it was just about on the road.  We could get a shower overnight too by the way.

Windy and Chilly

Mornin'!  It's 46° in Wildwood.  The thick clouds are up above and looks like there's not a chance for one of those lovely sunrises.  Actually, light showers are forecasted throughout most of this morning.  It's feeling raw as it's very windy with breezes from the N-NE at 25-30mph as well as plenty of dampness in the air.  The clouds and wind are going to hang around mostly all day.  By late this afternoon, the breezes will die down as the sun peeks occasionally.  I wouldn't call it a sunny afternoon though.  Temps will just be tapping the 50's and I'm going with a heavy sweater again.
