Mornin'!  It's 65° in Wildwood NJ.  We're under cloudy skies.  Actually, we're in some thick fog.  Everything's misty, wet and drippy from yesterday and overnight's rain showers.  Everything's watered!  It'll be a Tuesday mix of weather.  Today will start out damp and foggy with breezes out of the North at 6-8mph.  The first half of the day has 30-40% chance of rain showers in the forecast as Ms Sun should peek through by this afternoon.  Temps will get in the mid-70s.  Breezes will switch from the North to the East to the South by this evening 7-9mph with temps back down into the mid-upper 60s.  Tomorrow has mostly sunshine with a mix of clouds.  Until next year...goodbye May!

Happy Memorial Day!

Mornin'!  Happy Memorial Day!  Celebrated on the last Monday in May this day was originally called Decoration Day and is a day of remembrance for those who have died in service of the United States of America.  We honor you today for giving the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.
It's currently 67° with breezes out of the SW at 9-11mph and dreary as this year it's raining for Memorial Day.  It'll be raining all day into the evening. There's a chance of a thunderstorm or two. This holiday weekend marks another perfect weather weekend though as sunshine did abound with more than a few nice beach days for Wildwood's packed house to enjoy.  Today's temps will tap 70° while rain pours down and winds remain out of the SW.   Tonight...back into the mid 60s with 60% chance of rain and breezes out of the W-SW at 8-10mph.  We may not see Ms Sun until Wednesday.

Mornin'!  It's 64° in sunny Wildwood NJ.  So far so good on the weather front this holiday weekend.  We're thicker than ever as the island is being enjoyed by throngs of holiday visitors.  The weather's not disappointing.  Looks like another beach day (at least the earlier part of the day) as Ms Sun pours down.  Temps will hovering around the mid-upper 70s.  Clouds begin to filter in as it becomes overcast this afternoon.  Breezes will be out of the S-SE at 5-10mph.  Rain develops after midnight for a rainy Memorial Day but there's just a 20% chance of an isolated shower this afternoon. Tonight...temps back into the mid 60s with 90% chance of rain later tonight and breezes out of the South at 8-10mph.  Looks like we'll be waking to rain.  Pretty impressive weather though for the last few days.  In regard to Weather + Memorial Weekend in Wildwood, NJ = Crap Shoot as we could have had misty, raw 50°, breezy and a layered up weekend.  However, people watching can be pretty amazing this weekend as the swimsuit season is upon us and it's wall to wall people!  Bikinis abound!

Happy Memorial Day Weekend!

Mornin'!  It's 68° in Wildwood NJ.  It's partly sunny; partly cloudy.  No breezes to note.  It's warmish and summery.  All the neighborhoods and streets are packed with Memorial Weekend revelers and cars.  We had our share of revelers next door "partying till the break of day" (think that's a song) and loads of illegal parking all around the streets.  Lets add to that the main street adjacent to the corner of my house is open for heavier than usual traversing as the incompleted construction and dry dust from the unpaved street and all the traffic plus breezes now covers every inch of inside and outside my home. 100 days until Labor Day! Needed a little Memorial Day vent...sorry.
It'll be another round of nice weather today as Ms Sun shines through some cloud cover as temps just about tap 80°.  Breezes will commence out of the S-SW at 5-8mph.  Tonight...mostly clear with some clouds in the mix as temps drop back into the mid-upper 60s with Southerly breezes at 12-14mph.  Looks like a chance of rain showers beginning tomorrow afternoon right into the Holiday on Monday.

Mornin'!  It's 64° in Wildwood NJ.  Ms Sun's shining brightly and there's a decent breeze (S-SW at 15-20mph).  For the most part, it'll be a lovely day with temps in the upper 70s and breezes out of the South at 15-20mph.  There's a chance (20%) of a brief shower or thunderstorm this afternoon but the sky will clear and tonight we'll have starlit skies with mild temps (low-upper 70s) and breezes out of the South at 10-20mph.  Tomorrow...much like today with more of a mix of clouds but no showers expected. Breezes seem to be staying out of the South. The holiday weekend's looking nice today and tomorrow but cloudy and a little bit rainy Sunday night into Monday.

Mornin'!  It's 63° in Wildwood NJ.  It's also getting thicker in Wildwood as the weekend and seasonal visitors, vacationers and absentee homeowners (shoobies) have been arriving for the upcoming holiday.  It's a lovely start to the day as Ms Sun's up, no breezes to note and the seagulls and birds are chirping and squawking everywhere happily.  It'll be a nice sunny, summer day down the shore for all of us to enjoy.  Temps should get into the low 80s with breezes out of the W-NW at 8-11mph.  Tonight...clear and temps down into the low 70s with breezes out of the SW at 13-15mph.  Tomorrow...more of the same with possible rain showers overnight Thursday into Friday. This Memorial weekend's still looking a-ok.

Mornin'!  It's 58° in Wildwood NJ.  It's raining very lightly with no breezes to note.  Ms Sun's due up in about a half hour but there's not much of a chance of seeing her sunrise.  It'll be a mostly nice one today once these rain clouds decide to make way for some clear, blue sky later this morning.  Today's temps will be tapping 70° with a mix of clouds and sun and light breezes out of the NW at 7-9mph.  Tonight...partly cloudy, temps in the mid-upper 60s and breezes out of the SW at 10-12mph.  Tomorrow...sunny and the warmest day of the week and month...temps tapping 80°!  The holiday weekend is looking overall pretty good with a mix...some clouds, some sunshine and maybe some rain showers for Memorial Day.  Got my eye on the upcoming weather forecasts!

It's 55° in Wildwood NJ.  It's overcast and soggy.  No rain or moisture from the sky and any misty sea breezes but everything's soaked, wet and drippy from yesterday's non-stop rain showers.  It'll be a mostly damp day with 40% chance of occasional rain showers.  Winds are light now but will ramp up just a bit out of the N-NE at 16-19mph.  Temps will be tapping that ol' 60° mark.  Tonight...more rain showers with a 50% chance, breezes out of the North at 6-7mph and temps dropping back into the low-mid 50s.  There's a slight chance that Ms Sun could take a bow just as she sets and that could make for a stunner sunset. Tomorrow's looking like today.  Jeez...when is April going to check out?

Soggy Saturday Along The Coast

Mornin'!  It's 57° in Wildwood NJ.  It's overcast and a tad breezy off the ocean making it feel on the chilly side. Actually that's putting it mildly in my opinion as the ocean's 58° temperature and the cold, moist air wifting (wafting) over you can be more than annoying.  It's not going anywhere either.  In fact, the winds plan to get much stronger as we enjoy the weekend.  Here's the scoop...today begins with cloud cover (which is now) and relatively calm conditions. Then the winds pickup (E-NE 20-30mph possibly gusting to 40mph creating a very bad hair day) right before rain hits (70-100% chance).  Rain showers could be heavy at times. Temps will stay around where they are now almost tapping 60°.  Tonight...60% chance of rain showers with those pesky (I'm being kind here) winds continuing through Sunday morning.  Temps head back down into the low-50s.  Sunday will start out with showers and breezes but peeks of sun are in the forecast now.  Someone needs to make up their mind. Full Moon today (tonight at 5p.m.) so watch for tidal flooding.  Some parts of the island flood more than others and with rain in the forecast that combination equals "flooding somewhere".

Friday Beauty

Mornin'!  It's 54° in sunny Wildwood NJ.  Company's coming after work today for the weekend and today was "morning prep" time before blogging.  It's a lovely morning.  In fact, hubby carried the big palm plant out to the back porch from the 2nd floor this morning and I can almost feel its surprise.  From its sunny bedroom window to a 54° back porch...I swear I see shock in its branches.  Oh well...it's time for the plants to hit the bricks and there's a couple more to go out there but that's another day.  It'll be a nice day to kick off some plant outdoor placement (not so much tomorrow though) as today it's going up to 70° with sunshine pouring down and light breezes out of the S-SE at 10-12mph.  Tonight...clouds roll in with temps back into the mid-50s and breezes out of the South light and variable. It's Full Moon time (tomorrow) and you may be able to catch the full moonrise tonight.  Tomorrow...rain, higher tides and winds with much colder temps..."crapola" is a good name for tomorrow's weather.  Sunday...sunny!  Oh...just a reminder...watch those high tides as the full moon will draw the tides higher than usual and it's best not to drive through tide water!

Mornin'!  It's 53° in Wildwood NJ.  It's gray and still.  No sun; no breezes but plenty of birds chirping and squawking.  There have been a couple conflicting reports on today's weather.  I'm rounding it off as a mostly sunny day once Ms Sun gets here.  It's supposed to begin with clouds giving way to mostly sunshine today.  Two forecasts mentioned 20% chance of an isolated rain shower (that's okay with me as it'll save me from watering all the plants I've planted the last 2 weekends).  Okay...so we should see Ms Sun before noon as she'll be hanging out throughout most of the day.  Breezes will commence from the NE at 13-16mph as temps tap the 60s.  Tonight...a mix of clouds and clear skies with another 20% chance of an isolated shower as temps drop back to where they are now.  Breezes...NE 11-14mph.  Tomorrow...a repeat of today...clouds mixed with sunshine.  Friday's the near perfect Spring day...sunny and 70s.  Saturday...rain all day.

Mornin'!  It's 52° in sunny Wildwood NJ.  Ms Sun's up and at'em and shining brightly with not a cloud in the sky.  It's breezy; very breezy...W-NW at 25-29mph w/30+mph gusts.  It'll be a sunny one today with blustery conditions throughout the day and evening.  Temps will just about tap 60° as Westerly breezes wift (I mean "waft") over the island at a nice clip with gusting all day. Tonight...some clouds roll in as the winds continue to make their presence known at 20-25mph w/gusting. As the winds blow and the temps drop down into the low-mid 40s it'll feel like quite a chilly night and hard to believe that summer's 36 days away although yesterday was glorious peek of summertime (with those late day storms passing through). I kind of like this weather though. It's great when you need it...like for drying sheets and pillow cases on the clothesline out back (especially since my clothes dryer died yesterday).  Tomorrow...sunny, less breezy and a tad warmer.

Mornin'!  It's 62° in sunny Wildwood NJ.  No breezes to note.  Just a lovely morning down the shore while blogging.  It'll be a lovely first half of the day. It won't last as a stormy afternoon is on the menu.  All this nice warmth and lovliness will be pushed out by afternoon thunderstorms bringing gusty winds (possibly hail), thunder and lightning, and a drop in temps. Keep your eye on the Doppler when those dark, ominous clouds roll in later.  Tonight...low-50s with periods of rain showers as this bad boy clears out overnight. We should wake to Ms Sun but with very windy conditions and much lower temperatures than today.

Mornin'!  It's 57° in Wildwood NJ.  First, I'd like to report that yesterday's forecast wasn't quite on the mark.  Our little island's weather off the New Jersey coast turned out to be a perfectly pleasant pre-summer day with Ms Sun shining, a touch of humidity, warmth with temps reaching 78°, hardly a breeze and cloudless blue skies prevailing!  It was pedicure / flipflop day! Perfection!  Today...eh not so much.  Temps will hover around the upper 60's/low 70s with Southerly breezes at 5-10mph, with loads of clouds in the mix and 60% chance of off and on rain showers.  At the moment, no breezes as the sky is clear and Ms Sun's about to rise and shine.  It's a lovely, bright, bird-chirping morn.  I can't wait to see what the afternoon brings if the forecasts are anything like yesterday's...all wrong! Tonight...rain clouds will be clearing out with temps in the upper 40s/low 50s and breezes out of the W-NW at 5-10mph with 0% chance of precipitation.  Looking sunny and nice for the weekend other than a 60% chance of rain showers Saturday night.

Mornin'!  It's 56° in Wildwood NJ.  It's raining (spitting) very lightly.  The winds are out of the NE at 15-20mph w/some gusting. It's chilly and raw with cloudy, dark, skies.  No sunrise this morning or tomorrow or Thursday or Friday for that matter.  We've got a creepy week this 2nd week of April (oops...I mean May).  Everyone seems to be thinking the same thing...when the weather finally decides to provide some "open all the windows" warmth and pre-summer touches to the island, it'll be hot, hazy and humid. All of a sudden we'll be in the heat of summer while hitting the air conditioner on switch.  This week's looking like sweater weather with a cloudy, damp, chilly one on tap.  Today...cloudy with 40% chance of on and off showers.  Winds out of the E-NE around where they are now...15-20mph.  Temps will drop to the low 50s.  Tonight...50% chance of rain showers off and on. One forecast said peeks of sun this early evening which could make for a splendid sunset.  You just never know and I wouldn't count too much on that.  Tonight temps will drop into the upper 40s with winds out of the East at 8-10mph. Mornin'!  It's 53° in Wildwood.  We're currently under cloudy skies.  What else is new?  It's damp and still raw outside with no breezes to note.  Ms Sun's up there somewhere but when she shows herself remains to be seen.  It's supposed to be cloudy all morning with a 30% chance of showers.  This afternoon...clouds clearing out with peeks of sun and a bit of drying out finally in the mix.  Breezes will be out of the SE at 11-13mph.  Tonight...clear with temps down into the low 50s and breezes light and variable out of the S-SE at 3-4mph.  Tomorrow...the turn-around as it'll be mainly sunny (ha) with temps in the mid-upper 60s.  It's the Spring Classic Car show this weekend as those hotrods and more are lining up on the boardwalk as I type.  It's also the Coast Guard Community Festival this weekend (coastguardcommunity.org) with lots of activities being held at the Cape May Coast Guard training center.  And of course...Mother's Day tomorrow! New Moon Friday

Mornin'!  It's 48° in Wildwood NJ.  It's raining and windy (W-NW 22-25mph).  We've got another wet one on tap.  100% chance of rain showers today...some heavy; some with thunder and lightning.  Temps will get into the low 50s.  Precipitation amounts between a ¼ and ½ inch possible and add to that tidal flooding due to the New Moon. Couldn't get on the island last night in Wildwood (only North Wildwood) due to the roads closed with flood water. Cinco De Mayo

Mornin'!  Happy Cinco De Mayo! It's 48° in Wildwood NJ.  Here we go again...clouds, mist, and breezes this early morn.  No sunrise again as we're under thick cloud cover. It looks like 3 more days of this Northwest weather.  I seriously don't know how folks there in Oregon and Washington state cope with it.  Everyone here on the island I talk with says this weather blows and they can't wait for blue skies and that very important sunshine. It's chilly and raw and almost depressing without Ms Sun. But...chin up...she'll be appearing Sunday and staying until at least Tuesday. Today...gray with 20% chance of rain showers and windy with NE winds at 22-26mph.  Temps should move into the low 50s.  Tonight...80% chance of rain with NE winds at 19-26mph and temps back where they are now.  Tomorrow...more of the same.  Oh...be aware of the high tides...the New Moon is tomorrow and a New Moon pulls on the tides the same or even more so than a Full Moon.  We will no doubt see tidal flooding.

Portland / Seattle Weather

Mornin'!  It's 49° in Wildwood NJ.  It's breezy with NE winds at 10-20mph and overcast out there.  We had a couple good downpours already this morning but we're currently just misty and damp.  Expect more rain today though (80% chance) as we're due for occasional rain showers.  Temps will be in the mid-upper 50s.  One forecast did mention peeks of sun this afternoon otherwise Ms Sun won't be really checking in until Saturday sometime. Tonight...more chances of rain (40% chance) with N-NE winds at 15-20mph as temps drop back down into the upper 40s. Tomorrow...a repeat of today. We should switch our weather with Portland OR or Seattle WA...they're having sun and 70° weather!

More of the Same

Mornin'!  It's 55° in Wildwood, NJ.  It's raining lightly.  Breezes out of the W-SW at 5-7mph.  It's a perfect day to pull the comforter up and get some extra sleep-in time.  It'll be gray and rainy again (100% chance) as we could even see a thunderstorm or two.  We had some major boomers last night and I thought for sure we'd lose electric as those lightning bolts were right outside. We made it through unscathed.  Today will be cloudy with periods of rain and temps barely tapping 60° and winds switching from the W-SW to the North by later this morning and by this afternoon...E-NE at 11-13mph.  Temps will drop back into the low-mid 50s tonight with 30% chance of a shower. This entire week (except for Sunday) still looks rainy by the way. Keep thinking of those May flowers and lovely warm beach days.

Gray Monday

Mornin'!  It's 50° in Wildwood NJ.  It's damp but dry as we've got cloudy skies with an onshore breeze (E-NE) at 7-8mph. There's a 50% chance of scattered showers with patchy fog then mostly cloudy this morning with a slight chance of a peek of sunshine (remember sun?) by this afternoon.  There's thunder possible too.  Mostly gray today with high in the mid-upper 60s.  Winds will switch from the SE at 5-10mph.  Tonight...occasional rain showers (100% chance) with temps in the low-mid 50s and winds from the East at 5-10mph. Tomorrow looks like today's forecast. In fact, the entire week looks like today's forecast.  At least until Saturday.  It's the April leftovers!

Welcome May!

Mornin'!  It's 51° in Wildwood NJ.  It's calm and  misty and I guess you could call it raining every so lightly. We've got rain on tap for May Day.  I like to think of May Day as blue sky, warm and sunny.  Not happening this year in Wildwood. Temps are heading to the upper 50/low 60s as winds commence (E-SE 12-14mph) and pick up later this afternoon (E-SE 18-26mph) all while raining (100% chance).  Rain into tonight and the overnight (70% chance) as we wake to rain tomorrow.  Tonight temps drop back into the low 50s while winds wift (waft) over us from the South at 13-15mph.

May Day on May 1 is an ancient Spring Festival and is sometimes a public holiday in certain places.  It is also a traditional spring holiday in many cultures. Doesn't look like the children will be playing on the May Pole any time soon.
