Auf Wiedersehen June

Mornin'!  It's 70° in Wildwood this last day of June!  Ms Sun's just rising and brightening things up a bit on the island.  In fact, there's a magificent sunrise happening along the beach as I type. There are some clouds in the mix as they always bring some colorful drama to sunrises and sunsets.  No breezes at the moment.  It's very still.  It's also very quiet...no gulls trying to wake the neighborhood.  The street is once again empty as I thought more visitors would be hanging around with the 4th coming up this week.  But, the neighborhood is quiet too.  It'll be partly sunny/partly cloudy today as the forecasts are saying a mix of clouds and sun today.  Temps will rise just about tapping 80° while the humidity begins to creep back up.  Winds will be out of the South at 10-14mph.  Tonight...clouds still checked in as temps drop back into the low-70s.  Tomorrow... the humidity begins to climb as well as temps and possibility of showers Tuesday through Thursday (maybe even Friday...I'll keep a close eye).

Sunny & Pleasant Part II

Mornin'!  It's 65° in sunny Wildwood.  It's another perfect start to the day this last weekend in June.  It'll be a repeat of yesterday with sun shining, just a smidgen of humidity and temps staying comfortable (in the mid-upper 70s).  Breezes will be out of the SE at 7-10mph.  Tonight...a few passing clouds with temps back in the mid-60s. I'll be repeating yesterday as well...see ya at the beach!

Sunny & Pleasant Saturday

Mornin'! It's 68° this lovely, pleasant Saturday morning.  The sky is mostly clear as some clouds are checked in making for a picturesque and colorful sunrise.  It's quiet and still except for the birds.  The birds are everywhere making their presence known.  It'll be a nice day and weekend as Ms Sun's going to stay checked in for a little while...at least until the middle of next week!  Temps will get into the mid-upper70s as breezes commence out of the E-SE at 5-10mph.  Tonight...clear, starlit and temps back down into the 60s.  Great weekend weather. Lots happening this weekend on the island! Wildwood's certainly on the "thick" side.  http://www.wildwoodsnj.com/calendar.cfm

More Comfortable the Last Weekend in June

Mornin'!  It's 71° in Wildwood.  The weather has switched up a bit as it's time to hit the "off" switch on the air conditioner once again. The humidity has checked out and it's overcast and very breezy.  I actually felt a very slight chill when I stepped outside on the back porch to check the conditions (it's a whole lot cooler outside than in with the air conditioner on).  I'd much rather have the windows open and curtains waving from the island's seabreeze.  Weather conditions will be more pleasant and less humid beginning today at least until the middle of next week.  Today...partly sunny/partly cloudy (your choice) with temps in the lo-mid 70s.  There's a 20% of a light misty shower this morning and/or this afternoon.  Breezes are currently out of the North and will shift later from the ENE-E at 15-18mph.  There's a New Moon so the tides will be higher than usual.  Some fun activities this weekend on the island...Italian Fest in North Wildwood beginning this afternoon, Sand Sculpting Festival in Wildwood Crest, and Cape Express Soccer in Wildwood.  And, there's great weather accompanying it all!

Beginning with Clouds; Ending with a Sunset

Mornin'!  It's 71° in Wildwood.  It's wet, drippy, (not raining at the moment) cloudy and humid.  Much like a tropical morn after some intense thunderstorms during the overnight. No breezes...every rain-kissed leaf on the trees are still.  Some morning scattered thunderstorms are possible. Otherwise, gradually clearing later in the day as it'll be a mix of clouds and sun.  Temps will be in the low 80s on the coast. South winds shift to the northwest at 5-10mph.  Tonight...clear with temps dropping back into the low 70s.  The weekend's still holding at "lovely".

Mixed Bag Hump Day

Mornin'!  It's 72° this breezy, sunny morn.  Increasing cloudiness, heat, and humidity but not quite "hot" and summer-like on the menu. A cold front approaches from the West later, giving us a chance for some scattered showers and thunderstorms...especially in the evening and overnight time frames. Looks like it'll be tapping 80° along the coast with mostly sunny skies. Southerly offshore breezes at 10mph switching to S-SW this evening.  Later...70% chance of showers and/or thunderstorms with temps backing down to the low 70s.  And, drum roll please...at this point the weekend's looking like yet another lovely one...mostly sunny (some clouds in the mix) with temps in the high 70s (maybe tapping 80°) and seabreezes to keep the beach goers comfy not to mention for those gon' fishin'...high tides for Saturday and Sunday are 9:30a.m. and 10:15a.m. respectively. Ahhhh....summer!

More Pleasantries

Mornin'!  It's 69°.  It's another lovely start to the day as the sun's up, the breezes are wifting (I mean wafting) in all the windows with the sea air as the gulls are laughing loudly close by.  It was great sleeping weather last night! There are some clouds in the mix this morning and most of them are supposed to take a hike by lunchtime.  Temps will be in the mid-upper 70s as the breezes kick up a notch this afternoon (S-SE 15-20mph).  Tonight...back into the 60s with even less cloud cover and continued breezes.

More beautiful weather

Mornin'!  It's 67° (it's 87° in Key West) under a clear, sunlit sky.  The island's waking to a repeat of yesterday.  It'll be pleasant as the low humidity and sunshine stay checked in.  Temps will be in the mid-upper 70s with breezes off the ocean (SE) at 9-12mph.  Tonight...clear and back in the 60s.  Another lovely beach day (pack the sunblock)!

First Sunny Sunday of Summer

The "Umbrella" Men
Mornin'!  It's 72° in sunny Wildwood.  What a beautiful Sunday morning!  All the windows are open as the curtains are moving at just the right pace bringing in that ol' sea breeze.  The aromas of the sea, coffee brewing and home fries browning on the griddle are all in the mix in the house as I blog.  Mornings like this are just the best. It'll be a lovely day this first sunday of Summer.  Temps will rise just a bit and hover around the mid-70s all day with a NE-ENE breeze at 10-12mph wifting (I mean wafting) over us.  There's plenty of sunshine in the mix today too but the clouds remain checked in and will share the sky with Ms Sun.  Tonight...clear, starlit as temps drop back into the mid-60s.  Still feels like springtime to me!

Cheers to Summer!

Mornin'!  Happy Summer!  It's 69°, very still and quiet and gray this first day of summer.  No fanfare as Ms Sun has risen and is somewhere up there above this dense cloud cover.  The clouds are the main attraction as it'll be more clouds; less sun with a 15-20% chance of showers.  Those peeks of sun could be few and far between.  Temps will hover around the lo-mid 70s with breezes out of the N-NE to begin the day and S-SE to close the day all at 5-10mph.  Tomorrow...less clouds; more sun.  Guess it could be alot worse for the welcome of summer weekend.  I'm sure everyone on this somewhat thick island will find something fun to do today!

Last Day Of Spring!

Mornin'!  It's 66° in sunny Wildwood.  Ms Sun's over the horizon and brightening things up a bit this last day of Spring.  It's calm and quiet and fragrant with the lovely aroma of the sea slowly seeping in all the once again opened windows.  Had a couple closed up "AC" days as of late while the air conditioner's been helping us along to better cope with the humidity that's now out of here.  A cold front has broke that mini-heatwave as we're much more comfortable on the barrier island.  It'll be a beauty today as the sun's going to do its best to push the clouds aside.  It'll be mostly sunny with clouds in the mix as temps hover around the mid-70s.  Breezes will light out of the NE at 5-8mph and shifting this afternoon from the South.  Tonight...more clouds in the mix as temps drop back into the mid-60s.  The first weekend of Summer is looking 50-50 as tomorrow is the more cloudier out of the two days with a 20% chance of rain showers.  Sunday...a pleasant beauty much like today.  One more day until Summer!

Unsettled Weather

Mornin'!  It's 75° and muggy under dark, gray clouds in the Wildwoods this morning.  It won't be as hot and sunny as the last couple days, but it'll be humid and unsettled. Some scattered thunderstorms throughout the entire day and evening are on all the forecasts. Ms Sun will probably be hanging out too but just a bit...you know...more hazy and overcast.  We'll stay partly cloudy with chances of an occasional rain and/or a rumble or two of thunder this morning right into this afternoon as we remain humid throughout the day. Highs in the mid 80s along the coast. West-northwest winds at 10-15mph.  Tonight...in the mid 60s with that chance of Thunderstorms (70% chance) sticking around.

Hot Fun in the Spring time

Mornin'!  It's get this...76° and Ms Sun just rose over the horizon.  Summer's checking in early.  It's due in Saturday but doesn't appear to be waiting.  There's a chance we may see 90° on the ol' porch thermometer today as all forecasts are saying upper 80s possibly tapping 90.  It'll be hot and humid with a 50% chance of an afternoon thunderstorm.  Winds will be Westerly at 13-20mph.  Tonight...a possibly scattered thunderstorm with temps in the low-mid 70s.  Oh...yesterday the thermometer hit 86° in Wildwood as Key West was 79°!  Go figure.

First of Two Warm Ones

Ringer Stadium - Wildwood Avenue and the Beach
Mornin'!  It's 70° in cloudy, foggy Wildwood.  There's a light seabreeze which feels great when you step out of the house.  It's warm inside.  The first time my brain thought "air conditioner" this year.  It's going to be partly sunny, hazy, hot, and humid.  Most forecasts I checked said mostly cloudy.  Remains to be seen.  This will be the first of two rather warm days along the coast as temps climb up to the lo-mid 80s as tomorrow is even warmer and more humid.  West-southwest winds at 8-10mph all day.  Tonight...a clear, warm eve with temps in the 70s.  Great weather for the Mibsters and the 91st National Annual Marbles Tournament this week!

Sunset Beach - Sunken Ship - Cape May, NJ
Mornin'!  It's 65° again this morning in Wildwood.  Today will be a repeat of yesterday.  I could cut and paste the entire blog except for one thing...the breeze and this evening.  It'll be a sunny day (Ms Sun's up as I type) with temps in the mid-upper 70s.  Breezes will be out of the S-SE at 10-12mph (that's a cool seabreeze) and later this evening...30% chance of an isolated thunderstorm.  Sounding like a summer beach day as we approach summer this week...4 more days!

Happy Father's Day!

Mornin'!  And, Happy Father's Day to all you Papas out there.  Mother Nature has bestowed all father's here along the coast and in Wildwood a most pleasant day.  It's 65° in sunny Wildwood with breeze blowing at a decent clip (16-22mph) out of the W-NW.  It's a bit on the chilly side (while in the shade).  It'll stay sunny and lovely all day as Ms Sun's shining down today with temps going into the mid-upper 70s.  Breezes will simmer down by noon out of the West at 8-10mph.  Tonight...clear, moonlit, back into the low 60s with light breezes at 5-10mph.  Dads ride the amusement rides free today!

Mornin'!  It's 69° in Wildwood.  Happy Flag Day!  It's a beauty as cooler, less humid breezes and sea-air is blowing in all the opened windows.  Everything's been rain washed and watered and we're once again dry.  Ms Sun's back!  She'll be competing with clouds all day though but it'll be a mostly sunny last Saturday of Spring.  This time next week it'll be Summer!  It's gonna be a bit on the breezy side with W-NW winds wifting (I mean wafting) over us at 18-23mph.  Temps will be in the lo-mid 70s.  Tonight...back into the lo-60s with mostly clear, moonlit skies.  Tomorrow...even nicer!

Friday the 13th Full Moon

Mornin'!  It's 69° in rainy Wildwood.  We'll start with the bad news...one more gray, rainy, misty, cloudy day left for the coast.  Light showers are coming down this morning.  It's nice...no torrents or breezes...just light showers and "Geez, why can't this be Saturday so I don't have to respond to an alarm clock and just get cozier in bed as the pitter-patter of raindrops lull me back to sleep."  It's gonna rain today...scattered showers, patchy fog and thunderstorms are all possible. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds. Otherwise, mostly cloudy all day (could see peeks of sun this afternoon) with temps in the mid-upper 70s. South-Southwest wind 10-15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. Tonight...more scattered showers and thunderstorms (50% chance), mainly before 5am; mostly cloudy and back into the 60s. Forget the Full Moon today...we'll probably not get a glimpse with all the cloud cover.  It's the "honey" moon as June's full moon is called this because of all the full moons of the year, it is the one most likely to glow "yellow" throughout the night.  We'll end with the good news...it'll start out gray tomorrow, but everything switches as Ms Sun's on her way providing us some nice weekend weather!

Clouds Staying Checked In

Mornin'!  It's 66° in Wildwood.  It's mostly cloudy and, you guessed it, foggy.  We're drippy and humid outside again this morning.  It'll be gray and foggy with 100% humidity thrown in all day today.  There is a chance for some scattered showers and thunderstorms...especially in the afternoon and evening (60% chance). Temps will be in the low-mid 70s. South-southeast winds at 13-17mph all throughout the day and evening. Tonight...back into the 60s and remaining drippy.  Tomorrow...pretty much a repeat performance of the last couple days. Forget the Full Moon for now (it's tomorrow) as we're not going to be able to see it.  At least by the look of the forecast.

Hump Day Haze

Mornin'!  It's 68° gray and foggy with drippy conditions in Wildwood.  It's not raining but everything's wet and dripping and appears as though it's raining.  Light breezes are out of the E-NE and will ramp up as the day progresses at 16-21mph.  It'll be mostly cloudy/foggy all day with 30% chance of rain showers and/or thunderstorms right into the evening.  I checked 5 different forecasts and not one said Ms Sun will check in today.  I'm going with "gray day".  Looks the same for tomorrow with 60% of rain.  We're in a bit of a gray funk for a few days...of course as there's a full Moon coming in 2 days and it almost seems like a pattern as everytime the bright full moon is due to shine over our section of the planet...the clouds take over and we miss it...darn it.

Unsettled Weather

Mornin'!  It's 69° in Wildwood.  It's a cloudy, breezy morn.  We'll remain mostly cloudy and unsettled with more possibilities of scattered showers (20%) and some thundershowers in the forecast. Again, we're not completely wet or a washout, and could see peeks of sun like yesterday, but it'll feel more humid than yesterday.  Actually, yesterday turned out to be dry as the heavy, dark clouds decided not to water us (had to pull that ol' hose out again for the garden watering).  Temps will stick around the mid-upper 70s.  South-southwest winds at 8-10mph.  I'd carry an umbrella just in case.  And, the weekend is once again looking like a keeper as the sun and full moon will be checked in all weekend!

Perfect weather's coming to an end

Mornin'!  It's 68° in Wildwood. It's overcast and gray with a little whip of wind coming off the ocean.  Our 3 day stretch of perfect weather comes to a close. A weakening area of low pressure has moved into the region bringing with it the chance of rain (20% chance). Rain activity will be very sparse and not everyone along the coast will get wet. Round 1 should arrive early.. then round two after an afternoon break. We could get some peeks of sun yet a couple thunderstorms could be possible through the afternoon as well.  Today is basically mostly cloudy and cooler than Sunday with a scattered shower or two.. Highs in the mid 70s and winds brisk from the South at 15-25mph.  Tonight.. mostly cloudy with a 50% chance of scattered showers and temps dropping to the mid-60s again.

Mornin'!  It's 63° in sunny Wildwood.  It's been just lovely these recent mornings here on the island.  Ms Sun's up and the air is a tad cool with the fragrance of sea lingering in the air (and in all the opened windows)!  It'll be another lovely day as the sun's going to hang around most of the day as temps climb back up to the mid-upper 70s.  There's an unsettled weather system heading this way later and will bring clouds and possibly showers in the evening (50% chance).  Tonight...possible rain showers and temps in the mid-60s.

Sunny Saturday and Sunday

Mornin'!  It's 65 sunny degrees in Wildwood this morning.  Slept in a bit after enjoying a lovely evening by the bay at Harpoon Henry's with friends, cocktails and a gorgeous sunset.  Not even a jacket required...just warm breezes to end the day with the blowing of the conch shell.    A perfect way to start the weekend which will be pretty awesome I might add.  The temp will head back to the mid-upper 70s with cloudless blue skies as the breezes will be light from the NW/N-NW at 8-10mph.  Tomorrow...pretty much the exact same weather except for a slight increase in the humidity.  Life is good!

Sunsational and Suntastic!

Mornin'!  It's 63° in lovely Wildwood.  The morning appears perfect.  Ms Sun's up with some interesting clouds thrown in to make her sunrise "sunsational" (That's Dippin' Dan's word; not mine).  There are no breezes as it's calm and quiet except for the gulls and island birds chirping all around us.  It'll be a lovely day and start to the weekend as it'll be mild and sunny with light breezes out of the NW at 9-14mph.  Temps will be in the mid-upper 70's.  Tonight...clear and back in the mid-60s.  The weekend will remain "suntastic" (another of The Dipper's words) with mild temps and hopefully lots of fun in the sun.  Oh...I forgot to mention that it's "D" day...the allied invasion of Normandy.

Clearing Out and Drying Up

Mornin'!  It's 67° in Wildwood.  Feels cooler though as there's an ocean breeze along with some major mist and dampness.  Everything's moist from overnight rains.  Glad the gardens got a nice watering as unwinding and rewinding the ol' hose isn't in the cards today.  The clouds are creating island grayness as Ms Sun isn't in the showcase this daybreak.  It'll stay that way too most of the morning as rains are in the forecast (60% chance) until later this morning/early afternoon when we begin to dry out while the clouds clear out.  The local forecast even mentioned a possibility of a morning thunderstorm...just saying.
Temps will be climb back up to the mid-upper 70s as winds shift.  The winds are currently out of the East at 10-15mph and will shift this afternoon from the W-NW at 15-20mph w/gusts up to 35mph.  Tonight...mostly clear with temps back down in the upper 50s.  Eyes are on the weekend and it's still looking like perfection again!

Happy Anniversary!

Mornin'!  It's 67° in sunny Wildwood.  Today marks 10 years that we moved to Wildwood.  What a weather ride it's been! The sky is clear and there's no breeze out there this early morn.  Had some light sprinkling of showers on the overnight/early morn.  It's a tad humid with that ol' Sea Fragrance in the air.  It's all good.  I love mornings like these.  Just checked on my gardens and all is well as the roses, berries, grapes, cactus, veggies, herbs, seedlings, annuals and all else seem very happy.  It'll be another nice day albeit partly cloudy/partly sunny.  It'll be staying a bit humid as temps reach the upper 70s.  Winds will be light coming initially from the NW and shifting from the W-SW all at 4-6mph.  The local forecast is saying rain developing tonight and could be stormy with 80% chance of rain by midnight as temps dropping back into the mid-60s.  Rain could be greeting us tomorrow morning.  For today though...looking fair to midland for this first hump day in June.  17 days until Summer!

A Partly Sunny - Partly Cloudy One

Mornin'!  It's 62° as Ms Sun's-a-rising as I type.  She'll have center stage as there's not a cloud up in the sky yet.  No breezes as it's intensely quiet and still.  Fragrance of the Sea (I'm bottling that) is in the air.  It's perfectly lovely this morning.  Thing's are going to switch up a bit as clouds will be rolling in as we run the risk of late afternoon (30% chance) and early evening (50% chance) showers.  Temps will reach the low-mid 70s with breezes out of the S-SW at 10-12mph.  Overall, a nice day to continue with your outdoor activities at least for the first half of this lovely Spring day!

A+

Mornin'!  It's 55° in Wildwood.  Ms Sun just rose over the horizon.  There are no breezes yet.  It's calm and quiet and lovely.  Happy June by the way!  I didn't get to my blog yesterday morning (1st day of June).  We once again accepted yet another invitation by our friends for another morning/afternoon of fishing on their boat.  I was scrambling to get out early yesterday morn to meet them dockside in a timely fashion.  Blogging unfortunately was put on the back burner.  What a great weekend of fishing.  Although 14 flounder were caught between us, none of them were keepers (all were 14" or smaller) yet we had a wonderful time and perfect weekend weather.  The birthday girl (our friend's daughter) will have to enjoy her birthday fish dinner at a restaurant this time!  The perfect weather will continue today as it'll be mild and sunny all day with temps in the low-70s and breezes warm as a Southwesterly flow will wift (I mean waft) over the island all day at 10-14mph.  Tonight, remaining clear and in the low-mid 60s.  Ahhh...June's kicking off by surrounding us with some A+ weather!
