Saying "Adios" to January

Boardwalk Webcam This Morning
Mornin'!  It's 25° in snowy Wildwood NJ.  It's currently clear and starlit with that new moon (barely visible) up in the dark morning sky.  Breezes are light out of the North at 3-5mph.  There's good news and bads news up ahead.  The good news is these clear skies (even becoming partly sunny today) will help with the meltdown as the temps will be in the mid-upper 30s and NE winds at 10-15mph.  Tonight... partly cloudy, low of 29° and NE winds at 10-15mph.  Tomorrow... intervals of clouds and sunshine with a high of 41° helping with more meltdown and NE winds at 10-15mph.  Even with current 13+ inches of the white stuff blanketing our island, there's already meltdown happening and will continue for quite awhile. I haven't seen this many icicles in a long time.  The bad news is another storm system is heading our way late Wednesday into Thursday.  This storm (named Landon) will be bringing snow, sleet, ice and rain to the mid-Atlantic providing another layer of all sorts of weather precipitation to Kenan's distribution.  Flooding is a very serious threat as southerly winds could change any of this upcoming precipitation to rain.  Heavy rain.  I'll be keeping a close eye on this first storm of February.  For now... is "Se la vie" to January who certainly had its way with us this new year.  Don't let the door hit you in the ass!

Winter Keeps Having Its Way With Us

Mornin'!  It's 18° in Wildwood NJ.  The windchill is 5°.  We're under clear skies with Ms Sun about to do her thing any moment.  Winds are out of the NW at 10-15mph.  I just tried researching snow totals for Wildwood but I got nothing precise and just approximates. Due to drifting from the blizzard conditions and intense winds, I guess it's a controversial call but I'm going with anywhere from 12-15"; at least on my street and area.  Since hubby and I are the ones that did shoveling late yesterday into the evening, it took us the removal of 3-5 layers of several inches of snow before we saw the sidewalk or driveway.  I think we'll be seeing "white" for a while even though I'm hearing of a pretty major meltdown coming later this week.  For today... the Winter Tundra outside will be bright and glacial.  The snow's going nowhere.  Expect freezing, sunny conditions (some clouds in the mix) with a high of 28° and West winds at 10-15mph.  It'll feel like 16°.  Tonight... cloudy with clearing late evening.  Temps will be in the low-20s with East winds at 5-10mph.  Tomorrow... sun in the early part of the day with a mostly cloudy day on tap.  Temps will be in the mid-upper 30s with E-NE winds at 10-20mph.  Just an fyi... Thursday... mid-upper 40s with rain.  We may see our streets and sidewalks sooner than later!  And, with all this white stuff in the mix... perhaps tidal flooding.   We're down to 49 days until Spring!

Blizzard Conditions - Winter Storm Kenan Is Checked In

Mornin'!  We're in the midst of a blizzard this morning and we've got power! It's 26° in Wildwood NJ.  Winds are out of the N-NW at 30-35mph +gusting making it feel like 8°.   Winter Storm Kenan arrived last night and hasn't checked out yet. Snow has encased everything including all my doors and windows. I'm having flashbacks of February 2010.  In fact, today's photos are from then. I can't get any door opened to check outside for conditions and snow depth.  I was able to get a peek from one window not coated with snow and ice and it's snowing sideways with drifts of snow everywhere.  It has an eerie, bright, light pink hue in the morning darkness.  The winds are loud and howling as the icy snow blows in every direction. I'm not sure how many inches are out there but the reports I've checked said we've received anywhere from 1-3" an hour along the coast.  The snow drifts are impressive.  I do know that it is high tide as I type but so far, I see no snow floating or water anywhere outside.  There's a coastal flood watch by the way.  I'm sure we're going to see plenty of beach erosion from this bad boy.   Anyway... I'm hunkered.  The electric's still on which means I have heat and warmth, my computer's fired up and I'm sipping freshly brewed delicious coffee.  Much to be grateful for this morning.  It looks like we're going to have heavy snowfall with significant snow drifts as well as very strong winds until late this afternoon. Blowing snow is in all those reports I've checked as well and will no doubt  be creating some snow drift havoc.  Temps will stay where they are now... mid-upper 20s with that windchill in single digits.  NW winds are going to be anywhere from 25-35mph +gusting as high as 50mph.  Tonight... it's all over as this storm begins to beat down New England.  It'll become partly cloudy, calmer but still very windy (NW at 20-25mph +gusting), temps in the mid-teens with single digit wind chills.  Tomorrow... partly sunny, high of 28° with dangerous wind chills still in play and West winds at 10-20mph.  Monday... partly sunny, high of 38°.  Enjoy the comforts of your home today!

Calm Before The Storm - Blizzard Warnings Posted

Mornin'!  It's 31° in Wildwood NJ.  No breezes or winds. It's partially clear with the waning crescent moon in the sky.  Ms Sun's due in this morning.  But expect lots of cloud cover filtering in today with temps in the mid-upper 30s.  N-NE winds are coming beginning later at around 10-15mph.  Tonight... the fun begins.  There's a "Blizzard Warning" now posted beginning tonight until early Sunday morning.  It's looking like we're in the path of Winter Storm Kenan and will begin feeling its effects tonight.  It'll commence tonight with thick cloud cover and very windy conditions... N-NE at 25-35mph +gusting.  Temps will drop into the low-20s (with an incredibly nasty windchill).  Snow (heavy and blasting sideways) will also begin tonight and dump anywhere from 6-10" and continue into Saturday.  Tomorrow... 27° with blizzard conditions continuing and another 5-7" of snow due in with those intense Blizzard winds continuing out of the NW at 25-35mph +gusting of up to 50mph. Saturday night... gradually becoming peaceful and quiet with the skies beginning to clear as this Mr. Kenan heads to New England.  It's still going to be extremely windy and cold.  Windchill: -2.  Sunday... sunny, high near 32° with NW winds at 10-20mph +gusting.  It seems that this snow will be light and fluffy unlike Frida (1/3/22) which dumped 11.5" and was wet and heavy as hell and very hard to shovel.  I'm sure the snow drifts that Kenan produces are going to be challenging but easier to maneuver (hopefully). Here's a good thing to note... all forecasters are reporting that tidal flooding will be limited and not significant.  I'll be adding anything throughout the day if needed regarding Ol' Kenan but for now, we're about to have a Coastal Blizzard with potentially close to 2' of snow and damaging winds.  I'm as prepared as I can be.  I've got batteries, a battery operated charging station that's charged, candles, outside stuff secured, coolers are on the porch, ice is being made, vittles are in, got plenty of water and beer, I've got a good book and if we still have electric on Sunday... some good football to watch.  Good luck to y'all out there facing Kenan's arrival.  As my hubby's been saying, "If it ain't 20", it ain't nothin'"!

National Chocolate Cake Day

Mornin'!  It's 21° in Wildwood NJ.  Windchill temp is about 18° as we have barely any winds... N-NE at 2-3mph.  Even with a glaze of ice on the Harbor, it'll be another blue sky - sunny, somewhat mild winter's day here down the Shore. Ms Sun's up and shining already this morning!  Expect sunshine, temps in the mid-30s and light and variable winds.  Tonight... partly cloudy evening giving way to cloudy skies late.  Temps will drop to around 30° with SW winds at 5-10mph.  Tomorrow... all hell breaks loose.  All the weather forecasts (both TV and Internet) I've checked this morning are all over the place.  No one's committing yet to where and/or how much storm impact we'll see as the uncertainty level on the track of the storm not to mention a shift in this storm track by as little as 50 miles could mean getting walloped or not.  That means anywhere from 6-18" or even more.  For starters... there's no sunshine to speak of tomorrow.  Expect a cloudy day with light rain and/or snow showers by the afternoon.  Winds will be out of the N-NW at 5-10mph.  Tomorrow night... the winds enter stage left out of the N-NE at 25-30mph with temps dropping into the low-20s as snowfall begins and drops 3-5".  Saturday... the overnight snow from Friday could continue all day Saturday as temps will be in the mid-upper 20s with winds out of the N-NW at 25-35mph +gusting.  Heavy snow coming South up the Coast as well as from the direction of the ocean could engulf the Coast.  It could be minor to severe tidal flooding and beach erosion.  By Saturday afternoon... the storm will begin fading bringing snow showers in the afternoon.  Saturday night... cloudy and frigid... 16° with NW winds at 25-35mph +gusting making it feel like single digits.  At this moment, all the weather-folk are still talking "potentially" as we all wait to see how this monster moves around and settles in.  The point is... the movement of this storm will be the determining factor of who gets what. That means Wildwood could very well get nailed with copious amounts of snowfall not including those wind-driven snow drifts.  I'll keep you posted as I keep a watchful eye on both the storm and my chocolate cake baking in the oven!

Sunny, Calm Humpday

Mornin'!  It's 25° in Wildwood NJ.  Feels like 14° with the windchill.  Clear skies surround us as Ms Sun is up and shining down.  Winds are out of the N-NW at 10-15mph.  It'll be a sunny day with a high of 31° and N-NW winds at 10-15mph.  Tonight... clear starlit skies with a low of 23° feeling like 13° with N-NE winds at 5-10mph.  Tomorrow... sunny, high of 32° with winds light and variable.  Then, comes Friday and Saturday.  We're watching a "potential" (they're still calling this bad boy "potential") winter storm headed in our direction and checking in Friday afternoon.   At this time (remember this can change) there's a trajectory of two storms joining forces and slamming the Coast beginning Friday afternoon.  This morning, one of the weather folk on the TV said that if this was summertime, this storm would be classified as a hurricane.  There's a storm coming from the Great Lakes region and converging with a storm that's coming up along the Coast.  They're likely to join forces right along our Coast.  The cold, wind and snowfall will begin Friday evening and continue into Saturday evening.  Temps will be in the 20s with N-NW winds anywhere from 25-45mph. Low pressure will intensify off the East Coast Friday night into Saturday.  Chance of snow at this time is 90% and it's looking like blizzard conditions with significant snow amounts.  We could receive anywhere from 6"-18" or more.   Right now, it's uncertain which exact areas will see heavy snow and total amounts are still in question.  One thing's for sure... we're getting a major snowstorm with high winds, coastal flooding and beach erosion along with heavy snowfall and drifts.  The New Moon is early next week as well and will create much higher than normal tides.  Time to get the bread, milk and eggs!  I'd suggest doing some preventative prep as well... like doing inventory on batteries, candles and chargers for your devices.  Hubby and I have our plans in place and are doing some things today and tomorrow.  We plan on filling the gas tank in the car, securing some of the bigger shrubbery on our property,  shifting and securing some items around outside for protection (planters, tarps, chairs and table etc),  making blocks of ice for coolers which will be going on the back porch in case we lose power and need to shift refrigerated items into the coolers and of course making sure our emergency kit is in order.  I'll continue to keep you informed on what's projected and the latest reports for our immediate area.

Cloudy Start - Partly Cloudy Ending

Mornin'!  It's 39° in Wildwood NJ.  It's currently cloudy with gray skies and light breezes out of the W-SW at 5-8mph. The blog's a bit late this morning as I slept in and then I began checking various weather reports and newscasts about a potential blockbuster storm heading this way this Friday/Saturday. We'll get to that. For today... a decent day.  Expect clouds early with some peeks of sunshine later today.  Temps will be in the mid-40s with W-NW winds at 10-15mph.  Tonight... partly cloudy, low of 23° and N-NW winds at 10-15mph.  Tomorrow... sunny, high of 31° and N-NW winds at 10-15mph. Okay... here's the scoop as of this morning's reports: there's every indication that a storm (another Nor'easter) is developing and strengthening off our Coast later this week. The intensity could impact us Friday into Saturday.  Are you sitting down?  There's been mention of this storm (next winter storm's name is Kenan by the way) being classified as a "Bombogenesis" or a "Bomb Cyclone".  Storms like this occur when the central pressure of the storm plummets causing the winds to rush in toward that center at a much faster pace.  These winds are the transporters of moisture that unleash huge amounts of precipitation.  If the air's cold enough: Blizzard and/or very Heavy Snow.  There's also extreme high tides due to the beginning of next week's "New Moon".  So, I'll be keeping a close watch.  One forecaster mentioned 3' of the white stuff along the mid-atlantic coast including the Jersey shoreline.  Just saying.  Start praying.

Mornin'!  It's 23° in Wildwood NJ.  It feels like 19° with the 10-15mph winds out of the North.  We're under cloudy skies with a fresh, thin layer of crispy snow covering the island (about ½" or so) from overnight.  My surrounding streets look icy as they are glistening in the street lights.  It'll be cold today with partly sunny skies and a high of 33°.  Winds will be stiff out of the North at 10-20mph making it feel like 25°.  Tonight... mostly clear with some clouds filtering in then giving way to mainly clear skies overnight.  Temps will be around 26° with West winds at 5-10mph.  Tomorrow... mostly sunny and balmy, high of 37° with West winds at 10-15mph.   Monday... mostly sunny  and balmy again with a high of 35° and very light breezes.

Winter In Wildwood

Mornin'!  It's 19° in Wildwood NJ.  Thanks to the N-NE winds at 15-20mph, it's feeling like 4°.  It's the Winter Tundra outside.  We're cloud covered and snow covered from last night's 1" of snow which is now crisp and crusted on all the surfaces outside.  Today's temps will rise to 30° but we'll be mostly cloudy with N-NE winds at 15-20mph making it'll feel like the teens today.  We're also looking at another weather system coming in tonight.  Expect clouds tonight with a 50% chance of more snow showers, temps in the low-20s and N-NE winds at 10-20mph.  Accumulation looks less than an inch.  Tomorrow... a few passing clouds, otherwise sunny, temps in the low 30s and you guessed it... N-NE winds at 10-20mph.  Sunday... mostly cloudy, temps in the low-30s and W-NW winds at 10-15mph.

Unsettled Wet Weather On Tap

Mornin'!  It's 38° in Wildwood NJ.  Windchill's the same temp as the winds are barely there out of the NW at 2-4mph.  It's overcast as the moon is visible but under a hazy sky. Ms Sun's working her way over the horizon as the sky and clouds are looking like some fancy Bob Ross artwork.  Expect temperatures to begin falling as a Winter chill is on its way.  We're supposed to have rain and/or snow begin this morning as clouds thicken and temps drop.  Snow is likely today with temps in the low-mid 30s.  West winds will become North winds this morning at 5-15mph as gusts of up to 25mph are included in today's weather mix.  Snow accumulation is less than an inch.  Chance of precipitation today... 100%.  Tonight... cold with temps dropping big time... it'll be around 19° with that North wind (10-20mph) still checked in creating a major windchill.  There's a slight chance (20%) of snow before bedtime.  Tomorrow... mostly cloudy, high of 30° and still blustery.  Tomorrow night... 20% chance of snow with a high of 20°.  Saturday... 20% chance of snow to kick off the day becoming sunny and high near 32° with gusty winds. Sunday looks mostly sunny with temps in the low-mid 30s.

Lovely Winter's Day

Mornin'!  It's 40° in Wildwood NJ.  It's breezy creating a bit of a windchill (32°) with S-SW winds at 15-20mph.  The sky is mostly clear with some beautiful, colorful cloud cover along the horizon creating a picturesque seascape.  It'll be a mostly sunny day with temps just about tapping 50° with stiff S-SW winds sticking around at 15-25mph +gusting.  Tonight... becoming overcast with temps down to where they are now (38° to 40°).  Those SW winds will be around tonight too... 10-20mph.  It'll mostly likely rain throughout the overnight. Tomorrow... waking to rain and snowy mix in the morning transitioning to snow showers by afternoon.  Temps will begin in the low-40s but fall into the low-30s.  Let's not forget the winds... N-NW at 10-20mph +gusting.  This next storm or weather systems is (at this time) skimming us Friday night into Saturday morning.  I don't have a handle on this one just yet.  Right now, it's looking like a dusting to barely an inch if that.  Get outside and enjoy some of today's weather... even though blustery, it'll be the warmest we've had in awhile!

Winds Still Checked In

Mornin'!  It's 35° in Wildwood NJ.  It's mostly clear (leftover clouds along the horizon) with Ms Sun ready to shine.  Breezes are stiff out of the W-NW at 20-25mph.  It feels like 24°.  That ol' "wolf" full moon is still up and has begun its descent. There's going to be a mix of sun and clouds today with gusty winds.  Temps will be in the upper 30s with W-NW winds at 20-30mph +gusting.  Tonight... clear to partly cloudy with a low of 32° and W-SW winds at 10-20mph.  Tomorrow... intervals of clouds and sun with temps in the upper 40s and S-SW winds at 15-25mph.  There's another Nor'easter heading this way Friday afternoon into Saturday afternoon.  It'll be cold enough that we could get an ice storm (I hope not) or several inches of the white stuff.  All eyes are on this next one. Martin Luther King Day - First Full Moon Of The Year With Gales Warnings Posted

Mornin'!  Happy Martin Luther King day!  The holiday weekend continues.  There's a Full moon today and the tides are swollen.  In some of the webcams, the ocean is almost at the boardwalk!  It's 36° in Wildwood NJ.  Windchill is 25° thanks to the SW winds at 25-30mph.  We hit homers in the weather department.  No wind damage. No power outtages.  No snow.  No ice.  No flooding.  Couldn't be more grateful.  Although, it was pretty scary at times.  The winds were extreme and relentless making for a disruptive night of trying to sleep.  I kept getting up and looking out the windows for flooding or wind damage.  We're good to go!
It's currently partly sunny with heavy cloud cover moving frantically (thanks to the winds) over Ms Sun then, passing her by and allowing bright sunshine in the windows.  One moment, the house is aglow in sunshine and the next minute gray, darkness comes over the neighborhood and my living room.  Expect a partly cloudy, windy day with a high of 42°.  Winds will be out of the W-SW at 25-35mph +gusting.  Tonight... variable cloudiness and still windy (W-NW at 20-30mph) with temps in the low 30s.  Tomorrow... cloudy from time to time and still windy.  Temps will be in the upper 30s with W-NW winds at 20-30mph +gusting.

Mornin'!  It's 18° in Wildwood NJ.  Feels like 8° with the windchill.  Breezes are out of the NE at 10-15mph.  We're under somewhat clear skies as Ms Sun rose about a half hour ago but there's thick cloud at the horizon and is blocking her rays.  The clouds will allow her a little shine time this morning but sometime this afternoon, Winter Storm Izzy's going to have its way with us.  This winter Nor'easter is in Virginia at the moment heading this way.  This is what's going to happen... clouds take over, winds will ramp up, then the moisture (rain, ice or snow) begins and remains to be seen.  These current icy temps are supposed to rise into the mid-upper 40s by this afternoon.  I'm thinking it'll be only a rain event for our Jersey coast.  The E-NE winds will ramp up to 20-30mph +gusting (possibly 40-50mph) which is my concern.  Hopefully, we'll make it through without wind damage or power outages.  Tonight... winds will still be doing havoc along with steady rain into the overnight as temps drop into the mid-30s.  Be careful tonight with all the rain and those temperatures dropping as it could get icy.  Tonight's winds will change direction (SE) at 25-35mph +major gusting.  Rainfall could possibly be over an inch giving the island those tidal (full moon) flooding concerns for sure.  Be aware of the high tides.  Tomorrow... is the Full Moon and will be partly cloudy and windy day with those gusty winds (W-SW 25-35mph +gusting), temps in the low-40s.  Be safe out there!

Winter Storm Izzy And Martin Luther King Weekend

Mornin'!  It's 19° in Wildwood NJ.  The winds are out of the North at 10-15mph making it feel like 5°.  In Philly its 13° with a -5° windchill!  Thank goodness for the 42° ocean temp keeping us nice and warm.  Ms Sun's also keeping us warm.  She's up and shining brightly over the island.  The harbor's got some frozen edges on it although it's still moving with no ice sheen yet.  This sunshine isn't going to last as the clouds-are-a-coming.  Expect a cloudy day with a high of 29° (windchill of 17°) and those icy North winds at 10-20mph.  Tonight... partly cloudy, temps around 20° (windchill of 13°) and N-NE winds at 5-10mph.  Tomorrow... Izzy checks in with very windy conditions and rain developing in the late afternoon.  Temps will be balmy at 45° (feeling like 34°) and E-NE at 25-35mph +gusting.  Chance of rain is 90%.  Remember, the Full Moon is Monday so keep aware of high tides as tidal flooding is a very good possibility with the stormy holiday weekend.  Monday... rain ending in the early morning, high of 43°, mostly cloudy and still very windy.  At this time, it looks like we're skipping the snowfall unlike Philly (a dusting to 2").  We all have the potential for sleet and freezing rain Sunday into Monday depending on the temps dropping (32° could bring icy conditions) so be careful out there.  Today's Polar Bear Plunge into the ocean is still on schedule at 1pm at the Montgomery Beach in Wildwood NJ.  Good luck everyone.

Partly Sunny and Breezy Friday

Mornin'!  It's 39° in Wildwood NJ.  Feels like 30° with the windchill from the North winds at 15-20mph.  We've got gray skies with only cloud cover and no sunshine this first half of the morning.  Expect a partly sunny day today as clouds clear out a bit.  Temps will get into the upper 40s again with N-NW winds at 20-30mph +gusting.  Tonight... clear and cold, temps dropping into the teens with N-NW winds at 15-25mph creating a windchill in single digits.  Tomorrow... a mix of clouds and sun in the morning followed by cloudy skies in the afternoon.  Temps will be in the mid-upper 20s with and windchill of 16° from those North winds at 10-20mph.  So, lets talk about this Holiday weekend's Nor'easter "Izzy"... the weather folk are still trying to get a handle on its direction and so far, our Coast is looking like a rain and wind event.  It's during the Full Moon which is Monday.  Sometime in the late afternoon Sunday, this extremely windy storm will be in charge of the island's erosion and flooding with rain and blustery winds continuing right into the late morning Monday.  There will be tidal flooding so keep abreast of Tide Times and be aware of low lying areas and where you drive and park your vehicle.  I have yet to hear that tomorrow's Polar Bear Plunge has been postponed.  Hubby says "They won't postpone that one".  So, I'm guessing there will be many folk with bathing suits on the beach tomorrow at mid-day jumping up and down during the countdown to run into the ocean while the air is icy cold.  And, today marks 1 year that our little Freddy has left us.  Today's blog is for him as we continue to hold him close to our hearts and adjust to the quiet this home has become this past year.

Mix Of Sun and Clouds Today

Winter Dunes - Wildwood Crest
Mornin'!  It's 33° in Wildwood NJ.  We're under clear skies with Ms Sun due to cross the horizon with some clouds guiding her in.  Winds are out of the West at 1-3mph and there's no windchill this morning!  The skies will become partly gray later this morning as clouds roll on through.  Then, it'll become partly sunny day today with temps going into the mid-40s.  Winds will remain light and variable.  Tonight... cloud cover increases as it'll become mostly cloudy, low of 38° and N-NE winds at 10-15mph.  Tomorrow... partly sunny and a high of 47°.  North winds will be checking in at 15-25mph with higher wind gusts possible making it feel much colder.  Saturday... still looks cold and brutal for the bathing suit laden folk at the Polar Plunge with a high of 25° and a windchill of 16° due to the winds (N-NW at 15-18mph).  Don't expect any sun either.  Sunday... beginning with partly clear skies with a rainy Nor'easter (Winter Storm "Izzy") coming in during the evening, overnight and into Monday with temps in the low-40s.  The Full Moon is Monday and the high tides will have to be reckoned with.  You might want to keep the wellies close at hand for Izzy.

Mostly Sunny Humpday

A Variety of This Morning's Webcam Shots

Mornin'!  It's 33° in Wildwood NJ.  The sky is clear as the stars and moon fade and the horizon lightens.  The colors along the beach are spectacular... golds, corals, pinks, purples and so on.  It's breezy with S-SW winds at 15-20mph creating a windchill of 22°.   We're going to have another (mostly) sunny day with a mix of sun and clouds, along with gusty winds... SW 20-30mph +gusting.  Temps will be higher than yesterday... mid-40s but will feel like the mid-30s.  Tonight... partly cloudy, temps around 35° and SW winds at 10-15mph.  Tomorrow... mostly cloudy, temps in the mid-40s and light and variable winds.  Saturday looks cloudy and cold.  The mid-day temps around 20° with a windchill of 10° created by the North winds. And, Saturday is Wildwood's Polar Bear Plunge (1pm at Montgomery Ave Beach) and it's going to be brutal for those bundled up standing on the beach watching those in bikinis and bathing trunks running into the ocean.  Sunday looks mostly cloudy with rain/snow showers checking in around mid-day or late afternoon with temps in the 40s.  The weather folk have been talking about this Sunday weather system since yesterday afternoon.  "Snow" has been mentioned more than once.  The temps on Sunday though seem to be in the mid-40s so "rain" seems to be more accurate at this time along our coast.  Not so much for the interior section of the map (I95 corridor area).   I'm keeping a close watch on that one.  I'm pretty sure I've mentioned (more than once) that Wildwood's snow cover has been melted down just about everywhere aside from a few shady (snow mound) spots here and there.  Some things to note... today is the first day since we changed the clocks in November that Sunset is in the 5 o'clock hour!  The Full Moon is the 17th (just a reminder).

1-11-22

Mornin'!  It's 21° in Wildwood NJ.  The breezes aren't quite as bad as overnight. They're currently out of the N-NW at 15-20mph creating a windchill of 8°.  We're in it now!  Thankfully, dawn is happening and it's looking clear as Ms Sun's on her way over the horizon in about a half hour.  Expect a clear, sunny, winter's day with temps in the mid-upper 20s and those N-NW winds staying checked in at 10-20mph.  Tonight... clear with a low near 20°.  N-NE winds will shift to the S-SW all at 10-20mph creating a windchill in the single digits again.  Tomorrow... mostly clear and sunny with a few clouds in the mix and much warmer... high of 45°. Those stiff winds out of the SW at 20-30mph aren't helping to keep us comfortable that's for sure.

Mostly Sunny Monday

Mornin'!  It's 32° in Wildwood NJ.  It feels like 21°.  Breezes are out of the NW at 15-20mph.
We're under mostly clear skies with Ms Sun up and shining on the island once again.  There's a string of thick clouds along the horizon now heading out to sea but the sun's up and over them now brightening things up.  We did have rain beginning last night raining all throughout the overnight so we've melted down pretty good as the snow is becoming a distant memory.  It's about to be a sunny to partly sunny day with temps in the mid-upper 30s and NW winds at 15-25mph.  Tonight... partly cloudy, low near 20° and NW winds at 15-25mph making it feel like 10°.  Tomorrow... sunny, very cold (high of 25°) and those N-NW winds again at 10-20mph making it feel even colder.  Tomorrow morning... 21° with stiff winds feeling like 8° (that's eight degrees).

Sunday's Rainy Meltdown

This Morning's Webcam Shot-North Wildwood

Mornin'!  It's 38° in Wildwood NJ.  We're under "red" sky as Ms Sun rises and brings her morning glow.  Red sky in the morning... "Sailors take warning".  Breezes are out of the W-SW at 15-20mph making it feel like 29°.  The rains are coming.  It'll be partly to mostly cloudy this morning as Ms Sun tries to break through and shine.  The clouds will eventually take over the skies as there's a 90% chance of rain beginning this afternoon (after 12-1pm) as temps rise into the upper 40s today.  Winds will be out of the SW at 15-25mph.  Tonight... more cloud cover with rain ending overnight.  It's going to get windy with W-NW winds at 20-30mph +gusting.  Temps are dropping to the upper 20s feeling like the upper teens with that windchill.  Chance of rain: 100% tonight.  Tomorrow... partly cloudy, temps in the low-mid 30s and NW winds at 15-25mph.

Sunny Saturday

Mornin'!  It's 24° in Wildwood NJ.  It's sunny but feels like 14° with the N-NW winds at 10-15mph.  There's snow still hanging out on the grassy areas and shoveled piles but for the most part, the streets and sidewalks are now cleared.   I wish I could say the same about our Boardwalk but it's completely snow covered. So it's bright and sunny as all the houseplants in the front (enclosed) porch are soaking it all in and I can feel their happiness.  We're going to have plentiful sunshine today with a high of 32° and those N-NW winds at 10-15mph.  I'm sure there will be some more meltdown of snow.  Tonight... clear, moonlit skies with a low of 29° feeling like 17° with S-SW winds at 10-20mph.  Tomorrow... starting out clear and sunny as clouds roll in and by afternoon there's an 80% chance of rain as temps climb up to the upper 40s.  I'm sure any leftover meltdown will be concluding.  Monday looks sunny with blustery winds and cold temps (low-upper 30s).
