Do Svidaniya July!

Mornin'!  It's 68° in Wildwood.  It's a lovely morning this last day of July.  The sky is clear and bright with beautiful pastel shades coloring the horizon.  Sun's due up any moment.  No breezes again.  It's quiet except for a neighborhood seagull laughing at something out there.  Looks like another lovely day on the island as it'll be mostly sunny with temps just tapping the 80° mark again and breezes covering the island from the S-SW at 8-10mph.  Tonight...a 30% chance of an isolated shower; 80% chance of rain tomorrow.  Goodbye July!  Seems like Autumn's beginning to close in just a bit.

A Keeper!

Mornin'!  It's 68° in Wildwood.  It's early and still dark with starlit skies as the horizon's just beginning to lighten.  Speaking of which...looks like a nice one on today's horizon.  Breezes are nothing to write home about as it's very still at the moment. A light breeze coming from the W-NW initially will shifting from the SW all at a gentle 8-10mph beginning a bit later this morning.  Temps will be in the low 80's again.  Except for a brief shower on Thursday...we're looking at a nice weather continuing through the weekend.  Today certainly looks like a keeper!

Sunny Monday

A little Zumba in North Wildwood
Mornin'!  It's 70° in Wildwood.  Sun's up and is battling it out with some cloud cover at the horizon but she's beginning to shine over the island as I type.  Looks like she'll be shining all throughout the day and week for that matter.  Temps are tapping 80s again today as the light breezes will be from the NW initially, then shifting from the West later between 8-10mph.  It could be "water-the-garden" week as no rain is in the forecast until the end of the week (Thursday into Friday).  Yesterday, Philly broke records with high amounts of monsoon rainfall and Wildwood barely had a drop.  That's what I'm talking about...90 mile weather difference.

50-50 Sunday

Mornin'!  It's 70° this sunny Sunday morn!  Yes...sunny.  All forecasts are saying the island should have cloud cover and light showers at the moment...Not!  The sun just rose and is shining brightly with blue sky all around us as the sea air wifts (I mean wafts) over us and the gulls are laughing at us weather people.  According to the 3 resources I've checked this early morn...all point to rain.  Beginning with isolated light showers that is after the clouds roll in...Wildwood should be mostly cloudy with 40% chance of rain showers throughout the day including some thunderstorms later. Southerly breeze today at 10-15mph.  Temps will be just like yesterday in the high 70's / low 80's.  Humidity's up a bit more, but I'm sticking with opened windows versus air conditioning.  So far, so good.
As for the upcoming week...it's looking like a good one for any vacationers.  Beach days all around although Wednesday and Thursday...30-40% chance of rain.

Mostly Sunny Saturday

Mornin'!  It's 68° in Wildwood.  It's rather quiet outside this morning as there are no winds or breezes and this crowded island's still asleep apparently except for the seagulls and birds welcoming the day.   Just an fyi...last 2 weeks of July and first 2 weeks of August are the island's most heavily populated.  And even being in the thick of the vacation season, it's amazingly still and quiet at the moment. What's not to enjoy?  Today's forecast will be a nice one.  It'll be mostly sunny with temperatures reaching the high 70's/ low 80's.  Humidity is still fairly low.  Breezes will be light coming from the S-SE at 12-14mph.   There is a 20% chance of a late day shower as well as on the overnight.  Tomorrow looks like it could be a gray one with rain dropping by (50% chance).

TGIF!

Mornin'!  It's 65° in Wildwood.  It's nice.  There's cloud cover out there with very light breezes as the fragrant sea air passes by.  Doubt if we'll see Ms. Sun rise as the cloud cover is pretty heavy.  Not a glint of  clear sky showing at all at the moment.  All forecasts are saying it'll be sunny beginning later this morning with temps in the comfortable, less-humid mid-70's this Friday.  Breezes will stay light out of the N-NW at 8-10mph.  The weekend's looking 50/50 as tomorrow is pretty much a repeat of today and Sunday...not so much as rain is due in.

Gray day

Mornin'!  It's...get this...67° in Wildwood!  Amazing how fast weather can change.  It's a bit on the chilly side (I can't believe I'm typing that) as the breezes are wifting (I mean wafting) over the island from the N-NE at 15-20mph.  It's cloudy and dry at the moment.  It's supposed to be a rainy day according to 3 forecasts I've researched.  If there are any peeks of sun it'll probably be early evening before the next round of showers hit. It seems scattered shower and/or thunderstorms are due in today (50% chance) along with those breezes...light sweater weather and giving the ol' air conditoner a rest.  Temps...mid-upper 70's.

Humid hump day

Mornin'!  It's 73° this morning in Wildwood.  Ms. Sun's trying to make her presence known this hazy, humid morning (95% humidity) as she's crossing the horizon as I type.  No breezes as it's completely still and quiet with just a note of island fragrance in the air.  It'll be mostly sunny today while temps get in that 86°-87° range again.  There's a 30% chance of a brief, stray thunderstorm and/or shower later this afternoon and evening.  Seems the norm anymore with this humidity checked in.  Breezes will come from the W-NW eventually at 9-11mph.  Overall...a nice day down the shore.  Just keep your eye on the sky and doppler.

Chance of rain again

Mornin'!  It's 73° in WW.  There's none now but there was a "red sky" when I went outside first thing this morning.  That's not a good sign.  It means "sailors take warning" as wet, stormy weather could be on the menu today.  All around us has been getting nailed with storms and very heavy rains with flooding...mostly West and passing North.  So far, so good in Wildwood.  It's 6a.m. and no rain yet so far today.  And, we never got any rain at all yesterday like predicted for the island.  At the moment, the sky is gray and overcast except out towards the east where the sun is making the morning sky lighten and the morning clouds begin to turn pastel shades.  It'll be another warm, hazy and  humid one today with sunny skies and rainfall expected this afternoon as temps will be in the mid-80's as there's a 60% chance of rain and heavy at times.  Tonight...30% chance.  No breezes now but will come later out of the SW at 15-20mph.  Sun's due back for a nice beach day on Hump Day.

Rain in Forecast

Mornin'!  It's 74° this cloudy  morn in WW.  Ms Sun's doing her best to make a break for it and shine on the island as clouds are part of the morning scenery.  I think we'll definitely have some sun this morning by the looks of it as she's winning today's "daybreak" battle.  But, by the sounds of it...all forecasts are predicting not only mostly cloudy/rainy Monday, but a mostly rainy week.  I always think of this very crowded island filled with vacationers when rain's in the forecast each day of the week. That's a true bummer to be in Wildwood vacationing couped up in a motel room or condo looking for raining day things to do. Today...the rain showers and/or thunderstorms will be in the mix by 9-10 o'clock this morning and again tonight before 10p.m.  Off and on throughout the day...50% chance of scattered showers and/or thunderstorms.  Temps will be in the lo-mid 80's as SE breezes at 8-11mph will be in the Monday mix as well.  I'm thinking our date with the full moon rise tonight at 8p.m. on the beach could be cancelled due to cloud cover.  I'll be keeping my eyes on the sky as we get through what appears like a mostly gray and rainy Monday.  Remains to be seen I guess.

Lovely Sunny Sunday

Mornin'!  It's 74° in WW.  The heatwave has broken!  It's sunny, less humid and has that refreshing, lighter feel to the morning as breezes out of the W-NW are very light.  We had a doozie of a thunderstorm around 2a.m. along with tropical downpours to bringing in some island cleansing, not to mention gardern watering.  It'll be warm and sunny today with less humidity as temps reach the lo-mid 80's and breezes will remain light from the W-NW initally then shifting from the S-SW and by mid-late afternoon shift again from the SE at 5-10mph.  Looks like a lovely Sunday down the shore!

Christmas in July

Mornin'!  It's 78° in sunny Wildwood.  It's still hazy, hot and humid as we enter like the 5th or 6th day of this heat wave.  It'll be hitting the 90° range again today and feeling like 97° (heat index).  Breezes are nothing to brag about as not a leaf is moving on the trees out front.  They'll breeze on in later from the SW at 15-20mph.  It'll be another decent beach day however isolated thunderstorms are forecasted for our area later this afternoon, into this evening as well as overnight (30-40%).  Keep an eye on the doppler if you're out and about as some of these storms bringing in a cool front could be severe.  I'm sure Santa will be watching as he's due on the beach this afternoon.  And, let's not forget our Christmas Boat parade...keep an eye on the sky! TGIF

Mornin'!  It's 78° this early morn in Wildwood.  It's got that haze surrounding us with hardly a breeze in this humid, very warm start to the day.  We're still in this heat wave and will be until tomorrow.  Temps will reach the 90's again as breezes wift (I mean waft) in later from the SW 11-16mph.  We could get an isolated thunderstorm this evening.  Every forecast I've checked says 30% chance of rain tomorrow and 40% chance on Sunday.  One said heavy rains at times tomorrow.  I'm just reporting what I've researched.  So much for thinking a couple beach days are up ahead but I won't give up until the fat lady sings.  I checked on that bright moon we've been having as of late and it's almost full.  Monday the 22nd is Full Moon day.  It's known as the "thunder" moon due to the frequency of thunderstorms this time of year.  Moonrise will be 8p.m. on Monday.  For today...another hot beach day so prepare with plenty of sunblock, footwear, liquids and umbrella.  Went to the beach last night after work and stayed until the sunset.  It was just amazing.  Had to put my light hoodie on to keep the light, cool seabreeze from making me feel chilled.  No joking.  If you never experienced an evening sunset on the beach...that needs to go on your bucket list.

Dog Days

Mornin'!  It's 76°.  It's still hazy, still hot and still humid.  The sea air is thick and there's no breezes this morning either.  We're talking "dog days of summer".  Temps are headed into the 90° range.  Sun will be out again cooking the island making for some hot surfaces including the beach sand.  You've been warned.  Winds will eventually make their presence known later this morning/early afternoon from the W-SW at 8-11mph.  There's a very slim chance we may get a thunderstorm this evening.   Otherwise...the heat wave will provide yet another nice day down the shore and that goes for tomorrow too.  Saturday...not so much as rain is due in.

Another Heat Wave Day in Wildwood!

Mornin'!  It's a balmy 76° in the "woods".  Humidity is 91% as the sun's about to cross the horizon.  Not a breath of fresh air or breeze this early morn.  The island's in the soup.  It'll be another day in the midst of a heat wave as we have hazy sunshine, temps in the upper 80's and breezes minimal out of the North at 5mph.  They'll be shifting by mid-afternoon from the S-SE at 7-12mph.  Once again, the beach will be the place to be today.  Another day to be careful though...keep hydrated and have water close at hand.  Wear suncreen.  And, bare feet isn't a good idea however an umbrella sure is.  I saw kids running across a street yesterday in bare feet yelling out in pain as their feet were burning up from the blacktop.  And, the beach sand isn't any cooler than asphalt.  It is a perfect day to be down the shore if you take necessary precautions.  Enjoy if you're one of the lucky ones to be here.

Hydration!

Mornin'!  It's 79° in WW.  Whew! We're talking major "hazy, hot and humid" conditions this morning.  You can cut the humidity with a knife (90%). Sun's just about up and I can only think what that will feel like once it's blazing over us.  Temps are going into the mid-90's today.  Talk about hot sand on the beach!  So, we're in the thick of this heatwave and my guess is the only relief is by the ocean today.  Or, in air conditioning.  No rain due in as breezes are almost null and void out of the N-NW at 0-5mph. Today's necessities...footwear, umbrella and hydration...lots of hydration.

♫ We're having a heatwave ♪

Mornin'!  It's 73° this very still, quiet, humid, fragrant, sunny morning down the shore.  The simmering has already begun as a heatwave is bearing down on the entire northeast section of the country.  Even along the coast it's going to feel uncomfortably warm as the sun and humidity provides temperatures in the high 80's (very possibly tapping 90°), add in the humidity (75%) you got what feels like a 97° day.  Breezes will be light out of the West at 8-10mph.  20% chance of a rain shower on the overnight.  Drink plenty of water.  Make sure you have footwear, head covering and an umbrella for the beach.  A sand chair for "water's edge sitting" would be ideal and the best place to be today although getting some "clamming" in wouldn't be a bad idea either.  By the way...this Heatwave could be checked in all week long...just saying.

Fog's Gonna Clear

Mornin'!  It's 73° in WW.  We're foggy and looking a bit like San Francisco at the moment.  It'll be mainly dry, somewhat cloudy giving way to partial clearing later this morning/early afternoon.  Speaking of "clearing"...yesterday turned out to be a perfect day down the shore as blue skies prevailed unlike the forecasters predictions.  Anyone who ventured to the beach (unlike me) had a beauty.  These forecasters I check each and everyday have been off their mark as of late.  Today, the majority are leaning towards a gradually clearing of this grayness as the fog lifts and allows the sun to make for those lovely blue skies again.  Breezes are light from the SW at 5-7mph.  Temps will be in the mid-high 80's (a couple forecasts say tapping 90s).  All remains to be seen.

Plan "B" Saturday

Mornin'!  It's 69° in wet Wildwood.  It's foggy, damp and hazy and Ms. Sun's trying her very best to break through the gray dampness. It's actually brightening up as I type.  Everything is so saturated from yesterday's monsoon.  What was that?  No one forecasted yesterday's non-stop, full day of torrents which caused major island flooding not to mention cancellations of most all island events including the BBQ/Blues Fest. Saturday yard cleanup is needed as everything is covered with grimy debris...leaves, mulch pieces, branches, sand and whatever from the rains and flooding.  Hubby had to resort to getting out the ol' pump last evening to pump out the backyard to keep the flood waters from entering the shed and hot tub motor etc.  If we actually see Ms. Sun it'll be this morning as rain showers and/or thunderstorms are due in by lunchtime.  Winds are nothing at the moment but will blow in from the S-SE at 15-20mph later.  Temps should be in the upper 70's maybe tapping 80°.  Guess Plan "B" will go into effect today.  Tonight...clearing and Tomorrow...looking good as the clouds and rain will be gone and the dry out can really begin.

Friday's Mixed Bag

Mornin'! It's 70° in Wildwood.  We're currently under cloud cover and heavy fog with not much in the line of breezes as the humidity is fairly thick.  The island's fragrance surrounds us as the birds seem happy this morning as their chirping and squawking is the only sound breaking the morning silence.  It'll be a somewhat pleasant day after we get through the fog and heavy clouds and a few passing morning showers.  Breaks of sun are expected later but so are isolated thunderstorms this afternoon (60%) but for the most part...not a total washout.  Tomorrow...basically the same with 30% chance of rain/thunderstorms and Sunday even a lesser chance.  Breezes will be from the NE at 15-20mph as they spread the aroma and smoke of outstanding barbeque grilling in North Wildwood as today is the kickoff for the State BBQ Championship and Blues Fest.  Yum.

Gray Humpday

Mornin'!  It's 69° in WW this early morn.  It's another one of those early mornings with Ms. Sun and Cloud Cover battling it out.  By the looks of things it appears the Cloud Cover's going to win this one today.  It's gray and overcast with some minimal clearing and brightening of the sky.  The sun should be peeking in off and on today as well so I've read in various forecasts.   It's also humid (83%) and the moisture in the air is very palatable.  That humidity is carrying the heavy fragrance of the ocean and beach right into my home.   It's not looking like a good beach day today as there's a 40% chance of scattered rain showers and/or thunderstorms today beginning later in the morning.  Temps will get into the mid-upper 80's and back into the 70's tonight.  The chance of rain continues through the night and even increases tomorrow.  Breezes are light (5mph) at the moment and will ramp up just a bit from the SW at 15-20mph.

Mornin'!  It's 73° in Wildwood.  Ms. Sun's trying her best to filter through the clouds on today's sunrise and the clouds seem to be making way for her grand entrance.  The clouds are the real show stopper as their sunrise colors are once again extraordinary this early morn.  It's going to be pretty much a repeat of yesterday with warm, partially cloudy, humid conditions as temps climb into the mid-upper 80's.  Chance of rain showers is 20% today and 30% chance tonight.  Breezes will stay on the light side at 8-12mph coming from the W-SW.  Looking like a pretty decent beach day.  Keep an eye on the sky and an ear perked for any rumblings.

Mornin'!  It's 75° in Wildwood.  There's mucho cloud cover out there this morning and is making for the most amazing, gorgeous, colorful, sunrise.  There's so much cloud cover in the immediate and surrounding areas that all forecasts I've checked are saying 30% chance of a rain showers/scattered thunderstorms this morning and will continue throughout the day today.  Be prepared and keep an ear perked for the sound of thunder.  (get off the beach immediately) just saying.  Winds are out of the West at 9-13mph and will shift a bit later from the SW at 10-15mph.  Temps:mid-upper 80's today with humidity sticking around.

Another beach day!

Mornin'!  It's 76° in the "Woods".  I could literally cut and paste yesterdays weather report.  It's going to be clear and sunny and going up to high 80's possibly hitting that 90° mark as hot and humid is the main focus today as we wind down this long holiday weekend.  The sun's shining this lovely Sunday morn and will continue to shine all day in the vibrant deep blue sky.  Breezes are from the SW at 14-18mph and will ramp up a bit later from the S-SW at 18-22mph.  Yesterday's ocean breezes brought out "ahhhs" from most of us lucky enough to enjoy a perfectly pleasant beach day.  Thanks to our friend Ray setting up a perfect, wider than usual, spread-out encampment in the early morning, we enjoyed the "not so closed in" feeling at our beach spot.  If it weren't for the cold ocean temperature, I'd rate the beach day the highest rating of a "10" but I'm only going with 9.5.  The ocean water temp needs to be a tad warmer for that highest rating.  As for tonight...back to the 70's with a 30% chance of a scattered showers and that's after midnight.

Hazy, Hot, Humid / Sunny, Still, Sticky

Mornin'!  It's 76° this first Saturday of July.  Flags are flying as Wildwood continues to celebrate Independence Day week.  I've never seen the island so intensely populated.  All I can say is the mass exodus will be one for the record books.  My co-workers and local friends are all in agreement and we think that Hurricane Sandy is behind this intense occupation as our seashore friends from up North are in WW for the time being as their northern shores and communities continue to be restored.  I saw someone selling their parking spots here on our island.  Not...just kidding, although not such a bad idea!   It'll be hazy, hot, humid, sunny, and sticky today.  Temps may tap 90° but as we all know beyond the dunes and on the beach...total loveliness as the sea breeze provides beach day bliss and comfort.  The tides are on our side by the way as low tide is 1p.m. this afternoon so you can camp as close to the water's edge as possible since high tide isn't until tonight.
Breezes will be light out of the SW at 12-15mph.  Looking like the same for tomorrow with no rain in sight until possibly Monday.  Tonight...73°, clear and starlit.

Mornin'!  It's 73 "SUNNY" degrees in Wildwood this morning.  It'll be partly sunny today.  Yes...you read that right as "Ms. Sun's" back in the forecast.   Breezes are light and out of the S-SW at 15-20mph.  They may ramp up with a little minor gusting as the day unfolds.  It'll feel muggy as the humidity is making its presence known since the atmosphere is still a bit unsettled and could create an afternoon thunderstorm or shower (20% chance).  Temps will reach the low-mid 80's and back into the 70's tonight.  And btw...Ms. Sun seems to have checked in for the long weekend ahead!

Mornin'!  It's 70° in Wildwood.  We're under cloudy skies with light, damp, muggy breezes.  It's looking like another great beach day...NOT!!!  Forecasts are saying that we have a 60% chance of scattered rain showers as well as afternoon thunderstorms today.  SW breezes are wifting (I mean wafting) over the island at 12-18mph.  A couple forecasts I checked said "peeks of sun" so we may have periods of blue sky and a much needed break of these gray and drearies.

Happy July!

Mornin'!  It's 69° this 1st of July.  Currently in Wildwood it's quiet, breezy, fragrant, humid, overcast, gray with a bit of fog thrown in the mix.  Forecast doesn't look too promising for the start of this month.  Although it's dry with no rain falling at the moment, you can feel moisture in the air and all forecasts are saying showers are due in this morning. Breezes are from the SOuth at 16-25mph.  There's a thunderstorm watch this morning as well.  It doesn't look like a total washout today, as we could see peeks of sun by this afternoon.  But, most forecasts I've checked say cloud cover and light rain showers for most of today.  Tomorrow looks even more ominous as peeks of sun aren't mentioned in any forecast I've checked.   Temps may tap 80° and the breezes will ramp up a bit coming from the South at first, then S-SW at 25-30mph by early evening.  Chance of rain off and on today is 100%.  I'm sure there's something to do other than relax.
