Until We Meet Again January!

Mornin'!  It's 32° in Wildwood NJ.  It's cloudy and still (no breezes to note).  It'll be a mostly cloudy (some breaks of sun) today with temps climbing up into the mid-upper 40s. A little later this morning winds will commence from the S-SW at 18-21mph with a slight chance of a snow or rain shower (30% chance).  It'll stay mostly cloudy with winds shifting this evening into tonight from the West at 15-25mph as temps hover around the upper 30s/low 40s. Tomorrow looks mostly gray and breezy as well.  Ms Sun's due to shine all day on Thursday.  As for you January...you've been pretty decent this year...see ya next year!

Snow Day

Mornin'!  It's 32° in Wildwood NJ.  It's snowing!  Everything (except the streets and sidewalks) is covered in snow (vehicles, shrubs, lawns, roofs, fences etc.)  There's hardly a breeze with winds out of the North at 3-7mph.  We're supposed to get 1-3" as it'll be gray and snowy throughout much of the day.  One forecast did mention peeks of sun by late afternoon.  That remains to be seen. Temps should climb way up to about 38° with breezes ramping up out of the NW at 10-20mph.  Tonight...partly cloudy, 30° with West winds at 10-20mph.  Tomorrow will be mostly cloudy with temps in the mid-upper 40s with S-SW winds at 15-25mph.  As a matter of fact, we may not see Ms Sun until Thursday.

FOOTNOTE: At around 10:30 this morning...Ms Sun popped out and there's quite a bit of blue sky as the snow event seems to have stepped aside.

Partly Sunny Sunday

Mornin'!  It's 38° in Wildwood NJ.  The sky is partially overcast as the horizon clouds are beginning to clear out making way for Ms Sun's rising and shining.   No breezes to note.  It'll be a cold one with clouds hanging around as temps barely tap 40°.  Breezes will begin to ramp up a bit from the W-NW at 18-23mph.  Tonight...that partly sunny sky will give way to cloudy sky as temps drop down into the low 30s with winds shifting from the NE at 10-15mph.  Looks like we may get a nice coating of the white stuff beginning tonight on the overnight...1-3".  We could wake to a fresh blanket of new fallen snow  then another sprinkling in the morning.  Ugh.  48 days until Spring!

Last Friday of January

Mornin'!  It's 40° in Wildwood NJ.  It's clear and starlit with those bad-hair-day winds (West 25-30mph) still kicking up.  It's blustery and wintry this early morn on the island.  Looks like a somewhat cold day while Ms Sun tries to shine through a partly cloudy/partly sunny sky as the winds diminish by this afternoon.  Temps will hover around just what they are now and maybe drop a few degrees into the upper 30s by tonight.  We'll stay in the clear all day and night and throughout the weekend. On Monday...a plethora of weather with temps in the 30s, gray skies, rain, snow, wintry mix not to mention a sprinkling of sunshine.

Bad Hair Day Thursday

Mornin'!  It's 47° in Wildwood NJ.  It's cloudy and still (no breezes to note).  We're about to have rain showers (90% chance) this morning as winds check in from the W-SW at 20-30mph and gusts over 40mph.  Today's temps will be in the low 50s but it''ll most likely feel miserable with that rain/wind combination. By later today the rains will check out and those nasty, bad-hair day, wicked winds will check out as well becoming clear with winds out of the West at 18-22mph.  Temps lower in the upper 30s / low 40s.  Ms Sun returns tomorrow!

Abundant Sun this Hump Day

Mornin'!  It's 41° in Wildwood NJ.  We're currently under cloudy skies with breezes out of the West at 10-12mph.  We're supposed to have a nice one today as clouds move out and temps climb into the low 50s with Ms Sun shining down.  Winds will be out of the NW at 15-20mph.  They'll switch direction by this midday coming from the SW at 16-21mph and then again tonight from the South at 12-16mph.  Tonight will bring with it a 40% chance of rain showers as clouds check back in for tomorrow's rainy day which will be another 50+degree day as well.  Enjoy this sunny hump

Nor'wester Now

Mornin'!  It's 40° in Wildwood NJ.  It's overcast and windy. No rain coming down but this windy Nor'easter isn't over yet.  We're in the midst of morning tidal flooding as the harbor breached the bulkheads this early morn.  I've just heard that the Wildwood bridge is flooded this morning too so make an alternate plan if your coming in. We're due for some morning into this afternoon rain showers (60% chance) as the shifting winds (now becoming a Nor'wester) are howling at 25-35mph w/gusting from the N-NW.  Morning rain showers are on the menu with winds wifting (wafting) until late tonight.  We may see peeks of sun by this afternoon (thought I saw one peek late yesterday afternoon so anything's possible I guess). Temps will be in the low-mid 40s.  Tonight...winds simmering down some (NW 18-25mph) as clouds begin to move out and temps drop into the upper 30s. Tomorrow...sunny, much quieter and temps in the 50s!

January Nor'easter

Mornin'!  It's 46° in Wildwood NJ.  Rain is coming down lightly with winds howling off the ocean (E-NE at 30-35mph with gusting).  We're in the midst of a Nor'easter.  It'll be rainy today (80% chance) with thankfully mostly light rain and drizzle and fog and mist.  The anticipated coastal flooding has been downgraded.  However, coastal beach erosion is happening big time as I type.  It's the winds that will make this a very beach damaging and crapola day with NE winds sustaining at 30+mph and gusting at 45+mph.  Lots of howling and ocean pounding going on today and tonight into the overnight.  Winds should be simmering down tomorrow morning but still in the 25-30mph zone. Temps will be around where they are now...upper 40s and tonight drop into the low 40s.  Ms Sun's due to check back in on Wednesday.

Coastal Storm Up Ahead

Mornin'!  It's 45° in Wildwood NJ.  It's raining at a decent clip.  It's not windy "yet".  We're prepping for a Nor'easter.  It'll take place beginning later today into tomorrow as wind driven rain is on all the weather forecasts.  Today will be a rainy (100% chance) Sunday with winds out of the E-NE 10-20mph.  Temps will be in the mid-upper 40s.  Tonight more rain as winds pick up significantly still out of the E-NE at 25-45mph w/gusting (50+).  Temps will be in the low-mid 40s.  Tomorrow...more of the same with intense winds and rain.  I heard that the rainfall may not be as intense as once reported as the heaviest and wettest part of this storm could be hanging off the coast and not pouring down on us as once expected.  With that said...we will have some tidal flooding and beach erosion due to the rain and winds.  This badboy will hang out until sometime Tuesday.  Wednesday...a bit calmer with sunshine.

Mild Saturday

Mornin'!  It's 46° in Wildwood NJ.  We're once again gray and under cloud cover with some fog thrown in.  No breezes to note.  It'll all change though.  We're supposed to get up into the low 50s today with a mix of clouds and sun today
(sounds like great weather for the Women's March as Ms Sun's expected to join in).   Looking like a mild day along the coast.  Tonight...clouds come back with temps in the mid-upper 40s and breezes out of the S-SW at 8-10mph.  Tomorrow morning into Monday is raising some eyebrows as a Nor'easter has us in its sights.  Just saying.  Preparation is in order... major coastal flooding along with 50-60mph gusting winds is on the weather menu beginning tomorrow into Monday.  There's a possibility this baby could get stuck in position (due to systems North and East of us) and pummel the coast with winds and rain (2" or more) for more than 24 hours.  Expect a coastal major storm along with floods.  And, you might want to gather your candles...just saying.

Rainy Inauguration Day

Mornin'!  It's 37° in Wildwood NJ.  It's quiet and still (no breezes to note).  I can hear the sounds of the surf pounding this morning (6 blocks from the ocean not including the huge stretch of beach) as there's a thin layer of clouds (those milky thin kind) over the island creating a sound insulator.  I can just about see the stars and moon through them.  It'll be mostly cloudy today with rain on tap with a 90% chance of rain showers throughout the day. By tonight rain should be clearing out.  Patchy fog is in the forecast by later tonight (after 8p.m.).  Today's temps will be in the mid-upper 40s with breezes out of the E-SE at 5-10mph.  Tonight's temps in the low 40s with breezes from the S-SE at 5-10mph.  Another 50-50 weekend with mostly cloudy (peeks of sun) weather for Saturday and mostly rainy weather for Sunday.  Both days will be hovering around the 50° mark.

Lovely Thursday

Mornin'!  It's 41° in Wildwood NJ.  It's Dog Show time in Wildwood!  Lots and lots of beautiful show dogs on the island here for the weekend competing for that blue ribbon. As for our weather...we're still under cloud cover with no breezes to note.  Enjoy today though as the clouds will drift on out of here as it'll be a pleasant, unseasonable day with temps in the upper 40s (possibly tapping 50°) with sun pouring down and breezes light and variable out of the NW at 5-8mph.  Tonight...clear and back into the low 40s with breezes out of the NW at 6-7mph. Tomorrow...rain; Saturday...sun (much like today); Saturday night... more rain; Sunday...rain; Monday...rain with major winds.  Enjoy today.  I'll stop there.

Gray Hump Day

Mornin'!  It's 48° in Wildwood NJ.  We're in the midst of a heatwave!  It's quiet and still outside with no breezes to note or any sounds of the ocean's roar.  If feels amazing outside with no blast of frosty winter air slapping you when you step out.  It's drippy with fog and mist and very much like Jack-the-Ripper darkness this early morn. For some reason I always think of Jack-the-Ripper when it's dark and foggy like this...a little scary out there...a perfect scenario for high heeled footsteps.  Sunrise isn't for over an hour but doubt if we'll see Ms Sun today.  There's a 30% chance of rain showers today with fog and mist on the weather menu most of the day.  One forecast did say peeks of sun this afternoon but I'm gone with gray hump day.  Temps may be reaching 50°.  Breezes will commence from the NW at 11-13mph.  Tonight...overcast and cloudy with temps in the upper 30s/low 40s and breezes out of the N-NW at 5-10mph.  Tomorrow...Ms Sun checks in and checks out again Friday.  Temperatures seem like they'll stay unseasonable as it should be much, much colder right about now. I'm very satisfied with this weird winter weather.

Wet Tuesday

Mornin'!  It's 41° in Wildwood NJ.  It's raining lightly with no breezes to note.  We're in for a rainy day with showers tapering off this evening.  Today's temps will be in the mid-upper 40s with breezes out of the S-SE at 8-10mph.  Tonight...periods of light rain then patchy fog with temps staying in the upper mid-upper 40s with breezes out of the South at 10-12mph.  Tomorrow there's a 30% chance we could see periods of more rain throughout the day as well as Friday and again Saturday night, Sunday night with rain on Monday's menu too.  Lots of rain on all the forecasts I've checked out.  Just saying.  Hey... could be that white stuff or worse yet "ice" like some of our neighboring States are facing!

Mornin'!  It's 29° in Wildwood NJ.  Ms Sun's just about over the horizon (another 15-20minutes) as the sky is clear and cloudless.  No breezes to note.  It's crisp and very cold out there.  It'll be a lovely day (Dr. Martin Luther King holiday for me) as the sun will be shining most of the day with hardly a breeze.  Temps will climb up into the low-mid 40s with clouds entering the scene late this afternoon / early evening.  Breezes come too out of the E-NE at 4-5mph.  Tonight...50% chance of rain showers by midnight with temps in the upper 30s and breezes switching from the S-SW at 10-12mph.  Looks like we wake to rain tomorrow and Ms Sun returns Wednesday.

Mornin' to all today's Plungers!  Today's Wildwood Polar Plunge kicks off at 1p.m. on the beach at the Convention Center. Good luck with that.  It's 33° in Wildwood NJ.  You've got your work cut out for you as it'll be a crisp winter's day with temps in the upper 30s and breezes 6-10mph out of the NE.  On top of that...cloud cover and gray day with a 90% chance of rain and/or snow showers.  Tonight...this snowy/rainy mix will begin to clear out but we might get a nice coating before the sun shines tomorrow.  Tonight's temps...low 30s with breezes out of the North at 5-10mph.  Tomorrow...low 40s with more sun than clouds.

Last of the Niceties this Firday the 13th

Mornin'!  It's 55° in Wildwood NJ.  It feels amazing outside.  The sky is lightly cloud covered exposing the Full Wolf Moon through all that milkiness.  There are no breezes as it's still and quiet.  It actually feels like a Spring morning. It's all gonna change though.  First the breezes will pick up out of the N-NW at 18-26mph bringing colder temps.  We'll see a drop in temperatures as the high today will be in the upper 40s. These morning clouds will eventually give way to sunshine but it'll feel much colder than yesterday as the high was 65°!  Tonight...clear with temps in the upper 30s and breezes out of the N-NE at 9-13mph.  Okay...the weekend...I guess it'll be another 50-50 as tomorrow (Polar Plunge Day http://www.plungewildwood.org/) looks creepy with a cold wintry day and wintry mix on tap.  It'll be cold (in the 30s) with 80% chance of rain/sleet/snow.  Not much in accumulation but wet and raw tomorrow.  A mix of clouds and sun on Sunday with a high of 38°.

Full Wolf Moon Thursday

Mornin'!  It's 49° in Wildwood NJ.  We're under partly cloudy skies with breezes out of the S-SW at 15-20mph w/some gusting.  The Full Moon is somewhat shining through the milky sky.  The ocean's saltiness, mist and roar is in the air.  It's an eerie start to the day... feels like there should be a wolf howling from the dunes.  It'll be incredibly unseasonable today with temps in the low 60s.  Ms Sun will shining but with clouds trying to win. However the temperatures will no doubt steal the show.  Winds will be out of the SW at 18-20mph.  Tonight...mostly clear with temps back down into the upper 40s and winds out of the W-SW at 10-20mph.

Meltdown Is Over

Mornin'!  It's 46° in Wildwood NJ.  What a transformation from yesterday!  We're back to a clean slate as all the white stuff is outta here.  It's amazing!  Yesterday...a blanket of snow on the island and this morning the streets, sidewalks, lawns, roofs etc. are back to normal as all the snow melted away beginning last evening.  It's cloudy and wet with mild temps and breezes out of the SW at 20-30mph.  The roar of the ocean is loud and clear (6+ blocks away) thanks to all the cloud cover. Seems like we're going to have a mostly cloudy one with a 40% chance of rain showers throughout the day and 70% chance this evening. I did see one forecast that said sunshine during the earlier part of the day as temps almost tap 50°.   Tonight's temps will be in the low-mid 40s with breezes out of the South at 14-18mph.  Tomorrow...a bit of sun with even warmer temps as the ol' porch thermometer could read 57°!  And, speaking of tomorrow...Full Moon!

Tuesday Warmup

Mornin'!  It's 22° in Wildwood NJ.  We're currently under clear, starlit skies with no breezes to note.  Clouds will take over the sky as the morning progresses as it'll be mostly cloudy today.  Expect some peeks of sun but it'll just be peeks (much like yesterday).  The temperature will take a jump into the low-mid 40s today with breezes from the South at 8-10 mph. Tonight...90% chance of a shower as the temps stay in the low 40s with winds wifting (I mean "wafting") in out of the S-SW at 18-22mph with gusts as high as 32mph.  We'll probably wake to wind and rain tomorrow as temps reach the 50s (expect some meltdown beginning today as we're still majorly snow covered).

Partly Sunny / Partly Cloudy Monday

Mornin'!  It's 18° in Wildwood NJ.  It's clear and starlit with a breeze out of the North at 10-13 mph.  We're still blanketed in white.  It's cold outside.  It'll be another cold one as temps rise into the mid-upper 20s with the possibility of tapping the 30s.  Ms Sun's due up just after 7 o'clock.  It'll be mostly sunny (clouds will be in the mix as well) with breezes out of N-NW at 10-12mph.  Tonight...temps will be back into the 20s with breezes switching from the W-SW at 10-15mph.  Temps should begin warmer up by mid-week and all forecasts are saying high into the upper 50 / low 60s as a major meltdown is on the weather menu this week.  So is rain.  So is the Full Moon (Thursday)!

Mostly Sunny and White Sunday

Mornin'!  It's 20° in Wildwood NJ.  We have a chill factor though... N-NW Wnds at 19-23mph + 20° = 4° out there.  We have a snow factor too.  We had a nice dumping of snow from Ms Helena's storm yesterday.  It snowed heavily in Wildwood from about 7a.m. until 7p.m. leaving oh...about 7-8" of the white stuff.  There's drifting from the winds so maybe 10" or so in areas around cars, planters, fences, curbs etc. Our neighborhood streets were plowed last night. Those plows are greatly appreciated but do make a nice big plowed pile of snow at the foot of the driveway blocking us in. It was a light snow and easy to shovel which hubby and I did before turning in. We're good to go!
It's currently clear, starlit skies with Ms Sun due up in about an hour from now around 7:15 this morning.  It'll be sunny, blustery and a cold one today with temps in the low-mid 20s and winds remaining stiff out of the N-NW at 25-35mph (chill factor today). Late afternoon / early evening could bring some cloud cover and snow flurries. Tonight...partly cloudy with temps in the teens and those NW winds whipping in at 20-30mph.  Tomorrow...partly sunny and cold with less winds.

Saturday Snow Storm

Mornin'!  It's 24° in Wildwood NJ.  Winds are out of the North at 17-22mph creating an 18° chill factor.  Brrrrr.  It's snowing at a good clip and the island has at least 1" of the white stuff covering it.  Heavy snowfall making it look like a blizzard out there.  This coastal storm "Helena" is supposed to check out of here later today (early evening).  Depending on what she wants to dump on us we could see 3-5" but I'm not going to kid you...there are several weather websites I depend on for accuracy and they're now saying accumulation could be anywhere from 9-12".  Ugh.  I'm still going to hope for the original 3-5".  One way or another we're having a Saturday Snow Storm called Helena.  Thank goodness it is on a Saturday as the cinnamon rolls are in the oven and today's plan is homemade conch chowder for the weekend menu.  Tomorrow...mostly sunny but very windy cold much like today.  Those damn chill factors!

First Friday 2017!

Mornin'!  It's 32° in Wildwood NJ.  The "white stuff" is out there! But just on the roofs, lawns and vehicles.  We had a "dusting" during the overnight.  The sidewalks and streets are only wet.  This is just the appetizer as tomorrow looks to be the entreé and the real "snow" day as accumulation is on all the forecasts.  Today though...mostly cloudy and breezy...N-NW 10-20mph with temps in the mid-upper 30s.  Tonight...cloudy with snow showers developing after midnight, winds out of the N-NW 10-15mph and temps in the mid 20s.  The weekend...Saturday: windy with snow (expect 3-5" ) and Sunday: windy and mostly sunny.

Thursday Mix

Mornin'!  It's 33° in Wildwood NJ.  We're under clear, starlit skies with a stiff W-NW breeze at 18-20mph.  Baby it's cold outside.  It'll be a cold one (compared to yesterday) today with temps sticking to just about where they are now.  Doubt if we'll see 40° on the ol' porch thermometer today.  It'll start out clear and sunny with Ms Sun giving way to clouds this afternoon as we'll have a mix of clouds and sun.  Winds will be out of the West at 10-20mph.  Tonight...clouds with rain showers (70% chance) turning to a wintry mix (not a fan of the wintry mix) as temps will be in the low 30s and winds will be out of the NW 5-10mph.  Snow accumulation...less than an inch.  Tomorrow looks like it'll still be cold but with sunnier skies.  The weekend...looks better than some of the original forecasts as Saturday (which looked to have a coastal wintry storm headed in our direction) looks like a day of snow flurries with light accumulation.  Sunday...sunny.

Hump Day Mix

Mornin'!  It's 46° in Wildwood NJ.  The island's in the soup as it's foggy and misty.  Everything's dripping wet.  There's a light westerly breeze.  We'll be under cloud cover throughout the morning with temps beginning to climb into the 50s.  Later this morning the clouds will give way to sunshine as winds pick up from the West at 15-25mph.  Tonight...clear with temps dropping into the 30s and winds picking up even more out of the W-NW at 20-30mph w/gusting.  Tomorrow, Friday and Saturday have the "S" word in the forecast.  Nothing majorly significant but the "S" word non-the-less.  Just saying.

Mornin'!  It's 45° in Wildwood NJ.  I'm back on the keyboard as my holiday weekend has officially come to an end.  It was just a tad difficult leaving my warm, cozy bed on this dark, rainy, and windy (N-NE 15-20mph) morning.  My hubby, pooch and I  arrived home last evening from a lovely holiday weekend getaway with old friends.  As I'm officially beginning a new day, new week, new month and new year, I have my work cut out for me at the office today. I'm sure I'm not the only one joining the "returning to work" force. We're going to encounter a wet day on the island as there's 100% chance of showers not to mention fog and winds. Temps will be in the low 50s as winds will be out of the E-NE at 15-22mph and will switch from the East this afternoon and then by this evening...E-SE at 5-10mph.  Tonight...the showers will subside but there's still a 20% chance of rain showers. Mostly it'll be foggy with winds switching up one last time  from the W-SW at 11-15mph as temps drop back into the low-mid 40s.  Tomorrow...Ms Sun returns as well as the 50° temps!
