"Until Next Year" May

Mornin'!  Blog's a bit late this gorgeous morning down the shore.  I've been in the garden tending.  All the vines (string beans, cucumbers, grapes) were off the chart yelling out for guidance.  Everything's hiked up, secured, watered and very happy I might add.  I find being in the garden completely relaxing and inspiring.  It's amazing to me every year how the earth responds to our love, guidance and respect for it. That's not to say that abusing mother earth when trash is left lying on the beach or worse yet flying around the beach and streets (plastics) heading for the ocean, bay and marshes is absolutely heartbreaking. I'll never stop picking up the trash those who could care less and leave it all behind. Anyway...the blogs a bit late.  It's 72° and sunny with a light breeze in Wildwood this morning.  Hubby's making his infamous taters and scrapple for breakfast as I type.  I just cut some kale from the garden as we opted for some kale, mushroom and tomato omelets this morning for our Sunday morning breakfast!  It'll be nice today albeit the clouds are supposed to join in the mix.  There's a chance of a stray shower/thunderstorm again in the forecast.  They've predicted that one every day this past week and we never got any rain much less threatening skies.  So, you be the judge of your outdoor activities today.  It'll be close to 80° and maybe even the low 80s.  Winds will be out of the South at 10-20mph.  Tonight...more clouds and possible showers (50% chance).  Temps back down into the 60s as winds pick up from the South at 20-30mph.  Tomorrow looks like it could be rainy.  The Full Moon is tuesday and you may be able to see a 98% full moon rising over the ocean early this evening on this last day of May!  Until next year!

Lovely Weekend?

Mornin'!  It's 63° in Wildwood.  We're under some foggy conditions as everything's soaked and dripping out there.  All the screens on the windows look like a hose was directed at them.  Ms Sun's coming as she'll be drying things out a bit later.  Looks like a nice day as it'll be mostly sunny with temps in the mid-upper 70s with Southerly breezes at 10-20mph. Tonight... some passing clouds but generally clear but there is a small chance of shower and/or thunderstorm possible.  Temps back down into the mid 60s and those Southerly breezes sticking around at 10-15mph. All the forecasts I've checked for tomorrow now say those Sunday rains we were prepared for are holding out until the overnight into Monday as tomorrow looks like a repeat of today.  So, we may be lucking out with yet another lovely weather weekend. It appears like it's heading in that direction, but I'd keep an eye on the sky just in case.

Last Friday in May

Mornin'!  It's 64° in quiet Wildwood.  No winds or birds chirping this morning.  It's overcast and gray as Ms Sun's prepping to make her grand entrance.  That remains to be seen as we've got us some heavy cloud cover yet it is brightening along the coast.  It'll be party sunny/partly cloudy today with a slight chance of a passing shower and/or thunderstorm throughout this morning and afternoon.  Temps will be in the low-mid 70s with breezes out of the E-NE a 9-10mph.  Tonight....back into the mid-upper 60s with clearer conditions as breezes shift from the E-SE at 11-12mph.  The weekend forecast is holding steady as Saturday still being the better of the 2 days having less chance of a rain-shower kind of day like Sunday.  We've all heard of bar tans right?  The Full Moon is coming on Tuesday and best to keep an eye on those slightly higher tides (no driving through tide water).

Happy Birthday to my Love!

Mornin'! Today's entry is dedicated to my wonderful husband and lifelong kindred spirit who celebrates his birthday today!  Happy Birthday Love!
It's 62° in Wildwood.  It's still a bit breezy (S-SW 12-14mph) and Ms Sun's rising and painting the partly cloudy sky every color on the pastel color wheel... simply gorgeous! Enjoy as the clouds could take over completely by this afternoon as there's a chance (20%) that we could have a thunderstorm or at least a passing shower.  Temps will be up in the mid-upper 70s and breezes will be out of the South at 15-17mph. Tonight... even more increasing clouds as a stray shower or thunderstorm is possible again. Temps down into the low-mid 60s with breezes out of the South at 10-12mph. It seems that tomorrow will be mostly sunny although still a possibility of a stray shower passing through (not the original plan) and the weekend's still got the 50-50 going on with Saturday being the nicer of the two days. For today though... I'm going to water the garden as I don't completely trust Mother Nature and if she decides not to water, then I am (rest assured though I wouldn't be if living on the West coast).

Hump Day Clouds Rolling In

Mornin'!  It's 63° in Wildwood.  Ms Sun's up and shining brightly.  The winds are still hanging around (South at 19-21mph).  It's a lovely morn down the shore as the birds can attest to it.  It'll start to become cloudy today with those "milky" clouds.  Temps will be in the mid 70s as the winds stay checked in right through the overnight. Tonight... even more increasing clouds with a 50% chance of showers as temps drop back into the low-mid 60s and winds continue wifting (I mean wafting) in from the South at 20-27mph.  Tomorrow... that chance of showers remains on the weather menu.  Friday's looking A-OK.  The weekend's looking 50-50 as Saturday looks like the better of the 2 days with more sun than clouds and Sunday... more clouds than sun. Just saying.  25 days until Summer!

Memorial Day Tuesday

Mornin'!  It's 61° in Wildwood. There's a light breeze and clear skies welcoming the start to the day...Ms Sun's on her way. It's looking like another nice one if you're lucky enough to still be on the island. It'll be mostly sunny today with winds out of the South at 15-25mph and temps in the mid-upper 70s. Tonight...some clouds in the mix with temps in the low 60s and winds still out of the South at 23-36mph.  Starting tomorrow and for the remainder of the week...chance of rain. For the blog record, what terrific weather for Memorial Weekend 2015! The perfect weather brought the droves to our island. It's still pretty thick on my street with cars parked everywhere in every direction and even on yellow marked curbs and across driveways. That still amazes me.

Happy Memorial Day!

Mornin'!  Happy Memorial Day! It's 63° in sunny, breezy Wildwood.  Blue skies prevail once again as it'll be another stunner today.  What a beautiful weekend this Memorial Weekend was this year.  One for the history books.  The island's still jammed packed but it's usually "check-out" and "traffic-jam" day today as the mass exodus will be commencing soon. We'll be able to sleep a bit sounder and park the car much easier again.  We're going to have a mix of clouds and sun today as the temps possibly tap 80°!  Winds are on the menu today too as right now they're out of the S-SW at 15-25mph but by evening...21-35mph.  No rain on the forecast until Wednesday night so keep watering those gardens. Tonight...partly clear/partly cloudy with temps back into the low 60s as winds shifting from the South at 10-20mph. And, to all who withstood the ultimate sacrifice by giving their lives to preserve our country's freedom... we keep you in the forefront of our minds while celebrating this holiday. This is the day for your remembrance as we honor you!

Memorial Day Eve

Mornin'!  It's 59° in Wildwood.  It's clear, Ms Sun's up and shining brightly, there's a light breeze wifting (wafting) from the South at 10-15mph.  It's going to be yet another beauty with barely a cloud in the brilliant blue sky as temps climb up to the low 70s.  Breezes will ramp up just a bit at 15-20mph and early this evening...18-27mph.  Tonight remains clear with a little cloud cover entering the mix as temps head down into the low-mid 60s.  Tomorrow...some clouds stay checked in but it'll be mostly sunny with temps in the mid-upper 70s. The island is the most intensely overcrowded and thick I've ever seen for a Memorial Day Weekend. Hubby and I equate it to a July 4th holiday weekend with the most illegal parking I've seen since moving here 11 years ago. I just don't get why this "poor, yet overtaxed" City of Wildwood ignores taking advantage of earning some rightful money with issuing parking tickets is beyond me (sorry but I had to go there).  But it is *****Star Spectacular Spring weather and really that's all that matters!

The Unofficial Start to Summer

Mornin'!  It's 55° in Wildwood.  It's a bit later for blogging but happily I had the chance to catch some extra sleep on this start to the Holiday weekend and unofficial start to summer here on the island. Even waking at 4:45 to let the pooch out as he was urging me for some help.  It's another beauty down the Shore as Spring days go. Ms Sun's shining brightly in clear, blue skies.  Breezes are somewhat stiff out of the W-NW at 10-15mph.  It's going up to the low-mid 60s with breezes shifting around a bit...first this afternoon from the W-SW at 10-12mph, then tonight from the South at 13-16mph.  It'll stay clear all day through tonight as temps drop back down into the low-mid 50s.  Tomorrow...more sun and even warmer temps.  Monday (Memorial Day) a mix of clouds and sun with temps near 80°.  It's all good.  Happy Memorial Day Weekend!  Oh...29 days until the first official day of Summer!

It's 53° with breezy, clear, sunny conditions (W-NW 16-21mph)... perfect for kite flying!  It'll be nice for the next several days as Ms Sun and pleasant, seasonable temperatures are checked in.  Today's no exception as it will be sunny and clear with temps in the mid 70s and winds holding steady around 15-25mph all day.  Tonight...back into the low 50s with NW winds at 10-15mph.  The entire holiday weekend's looking A-Okay... http://www.wunderground.com/cgi-bin/findweather/getForecast?query=08260&MR=1

Thursday Washout

Mornin'!  It's 54° and overcast in Wildwood. For a minute we had some horizon brightness and I thought perhaps a clear, bright sunrise but the clouds won that round. They're calling for rain today and that ominous look is greeting the day and will stay checked in at least until tomorrow morning. It's dry now but rain showers will evolve this morning and become steadier by this afternoon (100% chance).  Temps will be tapping 60° as winds will be out of the E-NE at 5-8mph.  Tonight...steady rain and showers into the overnight.  Temps...low 50s with winds out of the North at 5-10mph. After today, it's looking like we won't see rain until possibly Monday in the early morn.  Otherwise, starting tomorrow... the holiday weekend is still looking "kiss your finger tips" perfect!

Perfect Hump

Mornin'!  It's 64° in lovely Wildwood.  It is lovely this morning...mild, quiet (except for loads of seagulls laughing loudly in the neighborhood), and sunny with a light sea breeze.  We have a beauty on tap today as Ms Sun shines, not a cloud in the sky, no humidity (like yesterday),temps hover around 70° and breezes out of the NW at 10-20mph. Tonight... passing clouds, low-mid 50s with North winds at 5-10mph. Tomorrow, the rain clouds pass by and get the wetness out of the way just in time for the holiday weekend.  Still looking real good for the season opener... sunny, mild temps and so far...no rain at all in the Memorial Day weekend forecast. Misty Tuesday

Mornin'!  It's 64° in muggy Wildwood. It feels warm in the house this morning. All ceiling fans are on.The pedestal floor fans got a good cleaning and sprucing up for this upcoming warm season... used one last night for sleeping and it was perfect! It's gray, misty, foggy, drippy and currently lightly raining. All the plants are getting gently watered. We're supposed to get patchy fog and rain showers this morning with scattered thunderstorms this afternoon (80% chance). Temps will be in the high 70s and one forecast said 80° today. We're getting up there with Key West winter temps now! There are no breezes this early morn but by noon we'll feel a light NW breeze at 5-7mph. By later this afternoon, early evening some clearing and peeks of sun possible with breezes kicked up just a little 13-15mph out of the West and temps down into low-mid 60s.The Holiday weekend's still looking pretty good...sunny, springlike temps and no rain until Monday.

New Moon Monday

Mornin'!  It's 67° in Wildwood.  We've got us a mix of clouds and clear sky as Ms Sun's working her way across the cloudy horizon.  She has risen but is blocked this early morn.  It's quiet and still.  There's a mix of clouds and sun (I'm thinking more sun than clouds) today and even areas of patchy fog in the morning hours.  Breezes will be out of the East at 10-12mph as temps get into the low 70s this afternoon.  Tonight...more clouds than clear skies as temps creep back down into the low 60s.  Winds...East at 5-10mph.  It's a "new moon" today...meaning much higher and lower tides than usual.
Oh, and so far so good for this upcoming weekend...Memorial Weekend that is... seasonable temperatures (low 70s) with sunshine for some fun in the sun!

A Weekend Mix of Weather

Mornin'!  It's a lovely start to the day with temps at 62°, Ms Sun's shining brightly, a light breeze out of the S-SW is wifting (I mean wafting) over the island at 12-15mph and the birds (including those seagulls) are chirping everywhere.  My windows are open and life is good down the shore.  Things may change according to a few forecasts I've checked out.  First, the breezes will pick up (remaining from the S-SW) at 18-25mph as there's a good chance of showers beginning later this afternoon.  Temps will get into the low-mid 70s as this afternoon will have some more cloud cover with possible peeks of sun but there's another chance of rain early evening.  Tonight...down to the mid-upper 60s with winds remaining out of the S-SW at 18-20mph and those chance of showers are still on the menu throughout the night and overnight.  Even a thunderstorm can't be ruled out. And, we may wake up to showers tomorrow morning.  I didn't realize that showers would play such a big part of the weekend weather...didn't see that coming.

The weekend's looking "eh" as tomorrow looks like a mix of clouds and sun with mild temps (low 70s) with showers tomorrow night into Sunday morning. The New Moon is Monday so you might notice tides a bit on the higher side.  You know the drill...don't drive through tide water!

Lovely Day On Tap

Mornin'!  It's 50° in Wildwood.  It's partly sunny / partly cloudy as Ms Sun's up and trying her best to shine.  The clouds look like they're beginning to be beautifully painted by her.  The sky looks fantastic!  It's a bit on the breezy side (N-NE 15-20mph) making it feel chilly out there.  The aroma of the sea is in the air this early morn. It'll be mostly sunny today with temps in the low 60s and breezes shifting from the East at 5-10mph. Tonight...mid-upper 50s, clear and breezes light and variable out of the S-SE.  Looking good down the shore (as Spring days go).

Nice Spring Hump Day

Mornin'!  She's returned!  My vacation was extended due to Spirit Airlines.  It was our first and last time using that carrier as I slept in the Atlanta Airport on Monday night due our flight being canceled as we were about to board our flight home Monday afternoon.  Being a Philly girl, I've never used any airport other than Philly International and we had broadened our horizons by using the Atlantic City Airport along with Spirit Airlines for the first time. I've actually got my draft written on that experience and it's not ready for posting.
Let's post today's Shore Weather!
It's 62° with clear skies and breezy conditions.  After being down South in Georgia with their summer weather and humidity and temps in the upper 80s - low 90s...Wildwood's feeling just a tad on the chilly side this morning with those winds whipping (NW 19-25mph).  It'll be breezy right into this evening but will simmer down some (10-20mph).  Today will be mostly sunny with a high in the upper 60s.  Tonight...low 50s.  Looks like no precipitation is due up for awhile (well, maybe a little this weekend). Overall, a splendid Spring day.  38 days until Summer!

Taking a Few Days Off From Blogging

Mornin'!  It's 55° in Wildwood.  Once again the morning breaks with quietness (no breezes or sounds of the surf) except for birds chirping everywhere.  It's partly sunny - partly cloudy with Ms Sun trying her best to rise above the horizon and shine, shine, shine.  I'm taking a little hiatus from the blog and since today's weather just about covers tomorrow, Saturday and Sunday and this will be an easy, repetitive one.  Every day up ahead looks to be just about the same forecast down the Shore.  Each day will have a mix of clouds and sun with temps in the mid-upper 60s.  Breezes will be light and variable coming from the E-NE at 8-10mph (tonight SE direction).  Each evening will provide temps in the mid-upper 50s with partially clear and cloudy skies.  Get out there and enjoy!

First Hump Day in May

Mornin'!  It's 62° this summery morn in Wildwood.  All windows are open and the voices of the happy, chirping birds fill the house! No breezes and we're currently dry as it should be raining according to the weather folk. I can smell rain in the air though.  There's plenty of cloud cover but at the same time lots of clear sky as well out there and could make for a splendid sunrise.  All forecasts are saying isolated rain showers this morning (50% chance) and some report a thunderstorm is possible.  It seems unanimous for clearing out later this afternoon as Ms Sun should be trying her best to peek through those leftover clouds with temps in the upper 60s - possible tapping the 70s.  Breezes will be out of the E-NE at 10-12mph.  Tonight... mostly clouds with temps back into the mid 50s and Easterly breezes 9-10mph.  The weekend's looking seasonable with mostly sunny conditions and temps in the upper 60s. One thing to note is yesterday was the first real summer-like day as temps almost tapped 80° with not much in sea breezes during mid-day when it felt the warmest... a true taste of what's coming!  Summer...46days!

Cinco De Mayo Starting Out Okay

Mornin'!  It's 61° in Wildwood.  It's quiet except for the massive amounts of birds communicating this early morn.  The sky is clear and coral again as Ms Sun's rising while hitting the ol' keyboard.  No breezes.  No cloud cover.  It's a lovely morning.  Things are supposed to change though as clouds are heading right in our direction as well as some rain showers.  Most forecasts say we'll have partly sunny / partly cloudy conditions with SW breezes (10-15mph) and high in the mid 70s.  By this afternoon, the clouds will provide us with a chance (40%) of a stray rain shower or two.  Tonight, overcast with more rain showers and even some thunder and lightning possible thanks to the warm temps colliding with cooler temps (upper 50s).  Winds will be from the South still at 10-15mph. We could be seeing gray with rain tomorrow on the wake up.

Breezes will be out of the S-SW at 10-12 initially then ramp up a bit at 17-19mph and by tonight 20-27mph.  Also by tonight, the temps will go down to the low 60s.  Tomorrow...a repeat of today except for a bit of stormy weather tomorrow night.

Full Moon - Sunny Sunday

Mornin'!  It's 50° in Wildwood.  It's overcast and quiet except for the all the birds chirping and Ms Sun working her rays through all that early cloud cover.  The sky's lovely as the morning sunrise colors are spectacular.  No breezes at the moment.  It'll be a lovely day once the clouds clear out.  There's plenty of sun on tap along with spring-like temps (upper 60s).  Breezes will be out of the E-SE at 5-9mph.  Tonight...clear and calm with breezes out of the South and temps holding steady in the upper 60s.  Tomorrow...an even nicer day as temps climb into the 70s!

Lovely 1st Saturday in May

Mornin'!  It's a crisp 47° in Wildwood.  It's chilly in the house this morning (haven't had my furnace on for a few weeks now).  Ms Sun's up and shining away and beginning to warm things up a bit.  There's a very light breezes out of the N-NE (4-5mph).  Temps are going to climb up into the the upper 50s-low60s today as the sun shines.  It's a perfect day for the Wildwood Crest City wide yard sale.  I didn't have time to post a brochure but here's the homes that are participating. http://visitwildwoodcrest.com/~/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/YardSaleList-2.pdf
Tonight..back into the low 50s with breezes out of the South with clear, starlit skies.  Tomorrow much of the same with warmer temps.  Monday...even warmer and Tuesday...warmer yet!  And, don't forget about that Full Moon tomorrow as the night's are brighter than ever!

May Day!

Mornin'!  Happy May!  We made it.  I always think that May is the officially mark of making it through challenging Spring weather which isn't always easy down the Shore. They can be cold and blustery months. But, May has a gentleness about it for the most part although it can dish out some raw, chilly weather too. Like today for instance as it's 50° and very windy Wildwood.  We've got us a major seabreeze this morning (E-NE at 20-30mph) and some heavy cloud cover as Ms Sun's painting the sky with dark pinks and purples as I blog.  I'm almost tempted to say "red sky in the morning..."!  Looks like it'll be cloudy and windy today with temps in the mid-50s and winds whipping off the ocean at 20-30mph all day.  We could see peeks of sun today though but the clouds will hang out all day and night long.  Temps will drop down into the upper 40s as winds continue to give us a stiff seasbreeze right up till tomorrow.  Still looks like a nice weekend up ahead but not with those high, warmish temps the mainland will get.  We're looking at upper 60s/low 70s with sunny days and mild temps from the southerly breezes right through until Tuesday down the Shore. Plus...a Full Moon is on Sunday.  Life is good!
