New Year's Eve

Happy New Year's Eve. We've certainly got some weather here at the Jersey Shore. Rain. Just rain, (The word is that snow is not far off though) but it's still cold. Temps are in the 30's which means that rain could shift right into a wintry mix along the coast. That mix could show itself tonight during the party hours. So, watch your footing. Oh...watch those Champagne corks...they can and most likely will create havoc. If you're lucky enough to see the full moon tonight...enjoy...it's a "Blue Moon" that means it's the 2nd full moon this month. Happy New Year! See you in 2010.

New Year's Eve EVE

Hola! Ok...here's Wednesday 12/30/09's weather forecast. First and foremost, I can see a "red" horizon this morning before daybreak (you know what that means!) and it's just about a Full Moon out there! Gotta love that. Great for viewing from an evening hot tub soak. That will be limited though because clouded skies and wet weather are expected tonight and tomorrow. It's very cold out. Just as cold as yesterday. We're talking chill factor in the teens for god's sake. Not the blustery stuff as the winds are gone. Long underwear certainly is still in order especially if a delivery/mail man. So, that wet stuff...it's coming tonight. There's a 50% chance of snow tonight. And, a 70% wet rain/snow mix for tomorrow night's revelers. I'll keep you updated on that. Enjoy the sun for the 1st half of today because the crap is on its way!

Blustery

Winds are howling.

12/29/09's forecast

Ok...next blog. The weather's looking like major crap today. Real windy. Big gusts. Not good at all for a trash day. Or, if you wear contacts and live on an island. Our local guy is saying up to 40mph gusts. I can hear the siding sliding off as I type. (only kidding). Here's the kicker...downright COLD. We're talking chill factor in the teens. However, it's gonna be sunny and will remain sunny for another day. It's still definitely a day for a Carhartt jacket (add long underwear) if you're a delivery man. As for the upcoming holiday...still looking at wet weather for NewYearsEve. And, it's looking like a storm with a wintry mix while dancing at Casey's. I'm keeping a close watch on that. Oh a by the way, 2009 was one of the wettest years on record. Certainly in the top 5. June 2009 was a month of rain...23 days out of 30! Until next time~
p.s. turkey sandwich for lunch today!

Happy Holidays Everyone

I'm sending out my first blog to those who I think may be interested. I received this BLOG as a Christmas Gift. I'm feeling my way through and I'll need your patience as I teach myself how to be your Weather girl. So, it's the select few (my guinea pigs) who are my initial blog receivers and who knows...could be a long happy road ahead. If not, it was fun and interesting trying it!

New Years Eve

Happy Holidays from yours truly. Another storm is approaching. Supposed to hit the island NewYear's Eve and stay around right up to Saturday 1/2/10. Be aware for your partying travel plans Thursday night. Could be icy with rain and ice thrown in the mix! Winds will be back too.

The Storm of October 2009

It may have been the greatest storm that I will experience in my lifetime. At least I hope it was. Anyone that lives along the eastern seaboard knows exactly what I mean. Water surrounds the house. Winds up to 60mph and high tides that wouldn't subside because of the winds. Here are a few stories and pictures from those dark days:
