Mornin'!  It's 27° in Wildwood NJ.  The sky is clear and starlit with hardly any breezes to note (N-NE 3-5mph).  It'll be a sunny start to the day with clouds rolling in sometime this morning.  Those clouds will stay checked in until late tonight.  They intend to bring moisture providing a winter weather advisory from around 1p.m. until 9p.m..  The temps will be in the low 30s throughout the day.  Expect some snowfall along with a wintry mix right throughout the afternoon and evening.  Accumulation shouldn't equal a total of an inch of the wet, slushy stuff.  Winds will be out of the N-NE until this evening and switch to the W-NW all at 9-12mph.  Tonight's temps in the low 30s.  Tomorrow...clear, sunny and blustery with hopefully a meltdown to whatever covered the island.  Temps will be in the low 40s with West winds checking in at 20-25mph.  Sunday...clouds checking back in.

The Bad Hair Days Keep Comin'

Mornin'!  It's 39° in Wildwood NJ.  It's cloudy and windy (W-SW 19-22mph) with a light dusting of snow on some surfaces (vehicles, shrubs, grassy spots etc).  The streets, sidewalks, porch etc are clear.  We had late-nite/overnight snow flurry action going on.  It's cold outside but not biting freezing cold.  It's those winds...they go right through you.  It'll be cold with some sunshine (partly cloudy), temps in the low-mid 40s and unfortunately still very windy (West 30-33mph).  Tonight...clear, windy (NW 20-25mph) and temps in the low 30s.  The winds are taking a break tomorrow but will be back in full force Saturday.  No rain/snow in the forecast until Sunday.

Baby It's Cold Outside!

Mornin'!  It's a balmy 24° in Wildwood NJ.  It's feeling like 11° due to the wind chill as the winds have been strong and relentless since last night.  They're out of the N-NW at 25-35mph. This house is-a-rocking! The electric must have gone out as our clocks were all blinking and had to be reset first thing. It's mostly clear with some clouds in the mix.  It'll be a mostly sunny day with temps just about tapping 30° and the winds staying right where they are...W-NW at 30-35mph +gusting.  Tonight...clouds roll in as we may have some snow flurry action going on (40% chance) as temps stay in the upper 20s / low 30s. Breezes will simmer down a bit out of the W-SW at 15-20mph but aren't checking out until Friday and will be returning for a blustery Saturday.  Oh...there's a chance of more snow flurries on Friday night.  Old Man Winter is hovering big time.

A Lot Going On Today

Mornin'!  It's 48° in windy Wildwood NJ.  It's cloudy and breezy with winds out of the SW at 20-25mph.  It'll be blustery today and the clouds are staying checked in.  Winds will ramp up even more as the day and evening (and tomorrow) unfold.  Firstly...S-SW, then by mid-day...West and by this evening...W-NW all at 20-25mph +gusting.  That's nothing compared to tomorrow as winds will be even stronger as winter air is headed this way.  For today...somewhat mild temps as we could see the thermometer tapping 50° (expect a chill factor though due to the winds) with mostly cloudy conditions with a possibility of peeks of sun earlier in the day and showers by the end of the day.  Tonight...more cloud cover with temps in the upper 20s / low 30s and stiff winds making for a nasty wind chill.  Tomorrow as I said will be another windy day but much colder with a chance of snow showers.  Winter's-a-knocking (9 more days)!

Mostly Sunny Monday

Mornin'!  It's 37° in Wildwood NJ.  We're under hazy, somewhat cloudy skies.  No stars visible and you can barely see the moon up there this drippy morning.  As I stood outside on the back porch taking in the weather, the usually quiet darkness is being controlled by the sound of the island's meltdown of snow.  Anything that held this weekend's snowfall that has yet to be removed is now melting.  The sounds of dripping is almost deafening.  There barely a breeze (NW 2-4mph).  The meltdown will continue today as Ms Sun crosses the horizon in just over an hour and begins to warm things up.  We'll be tapping that 40° mark again.  We'll have some periodic cloud cover as breezes will be out of the W-NW at 15-20mph.  Tonight...clear with S-SW breezes at 5-10mph and temps back down into the upper 30s.  Tomorrow...cloudy and very windy (cold, blustery, bad-hair day).  10 days until Winter!

Sunny Sunday

Mornin'!  It's 34° in Wildwood NJ.  It's mostly clear with stars and the moon shining down around what clouds are still up there.  It's breezy...W-NW 15-20mph making it feel like 24°.  We had a bit of a wet, wintry day yesterday and even with that white stuff removed from some of the surfaces...porch steps, car, etc., it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas as it's still white outside on most of the surfaces.  I'm expecting that to change today as Ms Sun will be checking it and I'm sure will provide a meltdown.  It'll be sunny today with temps just about tapping 40° with blustery breezes out of the W-NW at 22-26mph.  Tonight...still breezy from the W-SW at 18-22mph with clear skies and temps in the mid-upper 30s.  Tomorrow...a repeat of today.

Snowy Saturday

Mornin'!  It's 34° in snowy Wildwood NJ.  It's gray and breezy with North winds at 15-20mph and a light wintry mix coming down (I can hear the icy pellets hitting the upstairs skylight and some of my windows) as all the surfaces other than the streets are covered in the white stuff.  The streets are wet and icy looking but they're not...the ground surface is still on the warm side providing instant meltdown when the wet/white/icy stuff hits.   I'd say about 3"  of heavy white snow fell throughout last evening but the sidewalks and streets are clear and visible.  The lawns, trees, bushes, outdoor furniture, cars, railings, etc etc are covered in white though and it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!  It'll stay like that all day into tonight with gray, cold, snowy conditions.  Temps will hover around where they are now as N-NE winds will be 16-22mph.  Tomorrow...this cold, wet, nasty stuff will probably still be coming down in the early morning but Ms Sun's waiting to melt things down and shine most of the day.  Made 5 different batches of cookie dough last night all waiting to be baked as it's a great day for it (not to mention...this weekend's homemade soup is escarole (Italian wedding).  Last weekend's was beef barley.  Soup season's been excellent this year down the shore.

Winter's About To Pay A Visit to the East Coast

Mornin'!  It's 40° in Wildwood NJ.  It's breezy (NW at 15-20mph) and hazy as the moon and stars are barely visible through the milky cloud cover.  It's brisk out there this morning as the beginning of our first real preview of winter weather is about to occur.  It'll be mostly cloudy and cold today (there's a possibility of Ms Sun peeking through this morning) with breezes out of the W-NW at 7-10mph but the temps are going to drop (low-mid 30s).  By late this afternoon...50% chance of rain showers and by later tonight...Snow (yes..."snow"...I've said it) Showers.  There's a snowstorm out there with our coast in its sights! Tomorrow...snow all day into the overnight with minor accumulation although 2 forecasts reported 3-5"!  Personally, the ocean's still warm enough to keep the island insulated. The ground surface is warmer than the mainland and I think we'll see no more than a dusting to an inch (I'm saying that with my fingers crossed). Sunday...Ms Sun's back after a gray / snow flurry start but so are the cold, blustery winds - W-NW at 25-30mph.  13 days until the Winter Solstice, but we'll certainly have a sneak preview this weekend beginning tonight that's for sure!  I'm going with a fresh pot of homemade soup (Italian wedding) and Christmas cookie baking you couldn't have more perfect weather!

Mostly Gray Thursday

Mornin'!  It's 43° in Wildwood NJ.  It's cloudy and W-NW breezes 15-20mph are wifting (wafting) over the island and making it feel like 38°.  It's feeling cold with a little taste of winter out there.  It'll be mostly cloudy again today with temps in the mid-upper 40s and breezes out of the N-NW at 17-20mph.  There should be some peeks of sun too but don't count on her to warm your bones.  Tonight...mostly cloudy with breezes out of the W-SW at 15-20mph and temps in the upper 30s / low 40s.  Tomorrow's going to feel even colder with the possibility of rain not to mention those winds on tap.  Speaking of "mention" this weekend's forecast...Saturday...cold, wet and a 40% chance of the "S" word as Sunday will be cold with a high of 38° as Ms Sun will be checking back in.

Cold Front is Pushing In

Cape May NJ
Mornin'!  It's 53° in Wildwood NJ.  It's raining lightly and still windy as hell (NW @ 25-35mph).  The winds have been howling all night long. The rains are light and even more like mist but we're wet and cloud covered and will stay that way until at least this afternoon.  We'll be staying much like yesterday and becoming colder...another one of those mostly gray, raw, breezy, damp days.  The rain will actually be done by this morning but the winds and mist will probably hang out throughout the day into tonight. Oh...the temps will be dropping into the low-mid 40s today.  I plan on dressing warmer because unlike yesterday it'll be feeling wintry (I didn't even consider my winter jacket yesterday).  By the way...a couple forecast did mention peeks of sun by this afternoon.  Tonight...mostly cloudy and less windy (Westerly 10-12mph) with temps in the upper 30s / low 40s.  Tomorrow...mostly sunny.  The Weekend...ugh...I hate to say it but that "S" word is still in the forecast.

Gray Day

Mornin'!  It's 45° in Wildwood NJ.  We're under thick cloud cover creating some amazing sounds of the ocean waves crashing the shore.  It's an awesome sound especially when you live 6+ blocks away from the beach and don't get to hear it all the time.  There's plenty of winds out of the South at 15-20mph too.  It'll be a gray day with 40% chance of rain and winds blowing across the island out of the South at 25-35mph right through until tomorrow.  Temps may just be tapping 60° (no typo) today and mid-50s tonight.  Winds will be out of the S-SW tonight at 20-30mph.  Tomorrow...still a bit cloudy, colder with peeks of sunshine.  I'm afraid we probably won't see Ms Sun today and if we do it'll probably only be for a peek or two.

Sunny Monday

The Mall - Cape May NJ
Mornin'!  It's 39° in Wildwood NJ.  It's clear, still (no breezes to note) and incredibly bright with that fabulous super Moon.  Everything's frosty and glistening in the brightly lit morning pre-dawn. Somehow it's got "winter solstice" written all over it.  It's going to be another "not so wintry" day as Ms Sun's waiting for her turn for center stage as she'll be rising in just over an hour and begin to warm things up a bit.  Expect plenty of sunshine in the first part of the day with clouds filtering in the second part. Temps will be tapping that 50° mark again.  Breezes will commence first from the E-NE at 6-9mph; then SE around 5-10mph by this afternoon.  Temps will drop down tonight to the low-mid 40s with breezes out of the S-SE at 9-13mph.  As for tomorrow...rain is due in.  And, perhaps some of Wednesday.  Oh...the "S" word is in this week's forecast towards the weekend.
Just saying.

Beginning of the Perigee

(Photo from Pinterest - taken by "Dwight")
Mornin'!  It's 43° in Wildwood.  It's cloudy with no breezes to note.  The horizon is beginning to brighten with some of those beautiful Fall colors on those gray clouds. Ms Sun's actually rising as I type.  Not sure how much we'll see of her.  It'll be a mostly cloudy day with plenty of cloud cover as well as periods of sunshine peeking through and temps tapping the 50s with breezes out of the N-NW at 3-5mph.  Tonight...mostly clear with temps in the low-mid 40s and light, variable breezes out of the North.  Tonight is the beginning of the Special Supermoon Trilogy.  Tonight, January 1st and January 31st all will have a Full Super Moon.  The moon is at its fullest and closest point of its orbit around the earth (perigee).  It'll be especially full and orange and spectacular looking on the moonrise...14% bigger and 30% brighter to be exact.

Tranquil First Saturday in December

Mornin'!  Happy Birthday to our son...this one's for you!  It's 38° in Wildwood NJ.  It's still with no breezes to note. There's frost on all the surfaces as the stars and moon shine down.  Feels like a crisp Winter's morn even though it's still Autumn.  It'll feel cool today as Ms Sun will only be checked in the earlier part of the day as we'll see increasing clouds as the day unfolds.  By this afternoon it'll be cloudy.  Today's temps will barely tap 50° and by late tonight be where they are now.  Breezes will be light all day and evening and will commence from the NE at 3-5mph; switch from the SE at 5-7mph and by tonight come from the South at 5-7mph.  Tomorrow looks much like today but one forecast did mention early morning sprinkles before Ms Sun and the Full Moon check in.

Welcome December!

Mornin'!  It's 48° in Wildwood NJ.  Happy December!  Hopefully, it'll be a month that's as kind to us as November.  You just never know especially when the first day of Winter (the Winter Solstice) is just a measly 20 days away.  We've had both mild as well as bitterly cold Decembers as it all remains to be seen.  But today when I stepped on the porch, it felt cold as those blustery winds (N-NW 15-20mph) went right through me as I grasped the collar of my bathrobe around my neck.  We did have showers overnight and those rain clouds are out of here as that clear, autumn crispness and sky full of stars and of course that nearly full moon was what I noticed next.  The actual Full Moon is Sunday.  It'll be another pleasant day this first day of December with plentiful sunshine, temps in the low 50s and breezes out of the N-NW at 15-20mph.  Tonight...clear, temps in the mid-upper 40s with breezes out of the North at 8-10mph.  As for the weekend...much like today but just a tad cooler.  Ms Sun will be shining at least until next Tuesday.  As for that earthquake yesterday story is I was home using the upstairs bathroom when out of the blue things in the bathroom began to shake and quiver.  Next to my bathtub, I have a table with a ceramic planter holding a small palm tree (3') and next to that table stands an old boat oar.  All three (table, ceramic plant w/palm and oar) began moving and shaking.  My first thought was "earthquake" and ran downstairs out the back door and yelled out to my husband who was in the backyard "Did you just feel an earthquake?"  He did not and suggested I check out the computer (social media) or TV for any news and sure enough...we had a 4.4 earthquake in Dover, DE which was felt here.  The excitement just never ends!

This Is It November (Also The Official End To Hurricane Season)!

Mornin'!  It's 42° in Wildwood NJ this last day of November.  November's been good to us this year and it'll be no exception today as she bids adieu with a nice day. It is noticeably different though when you step outside this morning as it's got a chilly snap to it with those E-NE breezes at 12-15mph. The moon and stars are shining through light cloud cover.  It's looking like another lovely autumn day albeit cooler than the last few days.  Expect temps just about reaching the mid-50s with some light, milky clouds in the blue sky.  Breezes will be out of the E-SE at 10-15mph.  Tonight...mostly clear with some remaining clouds up there as temps drop back down into the upper 40s with breezes out of the S-SW at 7-10mph.  Until next year November...

Beautiful Humpday

Mornin'!  It's 51° in Wildwood NJ.  It's starting out just like the last couple of mornings with clear starlit skies and not much in the line of breezes (SW 5-9mph).  It feels surprisingly nice when you step outside; not wintry at all.  That aroma of salty brine is in the morning dew as well making it even nicer.  No frost this morning.  It'll be just like yesterday with plenty of sunshine pouring down, blue cloudless skies, temps tapping 60° and breezes out of the West at 12-18mph.  Tonight...clear with temps in the mid-upper 40s and breezes out of the NW at 10-12mph.  We're supposed to get more of this loveliness tomorrow too!  It's perfect outdoor holiday decorating weather.

Mornin'!  It's 39° in Wildwood NJ.  It's a crisp one this morning with clear, starlit skies, frost on all the surfaces, aroma of the marsh, and very light offshore breezes out of the East at 3-5mph.  Dawn is on its way in about an hour as the horizon colors are beginning to brighten.  It'll be yet another lovely autumn day with temps just about tapping 60°, plentiful sunshine, vivid blue cloudless skies and breezes light out of the S-SE at 9-12mph.  Tonight...clear starlit skies, breezes out of the S-SW at 10-15mph and temps in the mid-upper 40s.  Note the night sky is becoming brighter as the next full moon is this weekend (Sunday).

Blustery, Sunny Sunday

Mornin'!  It's 45° in Wildwood NJ.  Ms Sun's up and there's a breeze out of the N-NE at 7-10mph.  There's a delicious aroma of the sea in the chilly air as seagulls are in the distance laughing (I'd like to think of it as laughter but it could be a dogfight).   It's gonna get blustery today with temps staying around where they are now...mid-upper 40s and winds from the NW (first) at 20-25mph then switching a bit (by midday) out of the W-NW at around the same 20-25mph w/gusting.  It'll feel much colder (wind chill included) than yesterday when it was a perfectly gorgeous autumn day here down the shore.  It made for a lovely day for a bike ride on the boards.  The sun was warm and there was hardly a breeze! Tonight...clear, temps in the low 40s and breezes simmering down a bit and out of the W-NW at 15-20mph.  Tomorrow...sunny and calmer.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Thankful for our 51st Thanksgiving together
Mornin'!  Happy Thanksgiving!  It's 34° in Wildwood NJ.  Ms Sun's up and shining brightly.  There are some clouds in the East she may have to deal with as she rises a bit higher.  No breezes to note.  It looks like we'll have a mostly sunny (some clouds in the mix) day with temps in the low-mid 40s, breezes out of the NW at 10-15mph.  Tonight...clear, temps in the upper 30s / low 40s with Westerly breezes at 11-13mph.  It should make for a perfect travel day (if you haven't done so already) as we share in our gatherings and Thanksgiving Feasts.  I've got my sides (sauteed Brussel sprouts, cole slaw, sweet potato casserole and coconut custard pie) ready for packing in the trunk of the car as we road trip to our daughter's home.  Happy Thanksgiving to all my readers!  Many blessings to reflect on today including my weather followers!

Hump Travel Day!

Mornin'!  It's 55° in wet Wildwood NJ.  It's raining at a decent clip with winds out of the SW at 9-12mph.  It'll be a wet morning as the waning rain clouds and arrival of Ms Sun isn't due until late this morning / early afternoon.  Temps will hover around where they are now...mid 50s.  Those blustery winds of late are heading back to the coast as the cooler, drier air will be wifting (wafting) over the island by early afternoon (NW 25-30mph).  One forecast did say cloudy all day with chance of rain showers right into the evening.  My bets are sunny skies by this afternoon and that includes those winds.  Tonight...a perfect evening for food prep...

Mornin'!  It's 47° in Wildwood NJ.  Dawn has arrived as the sky is clear and looking like a dim but colorful pastel rainbow.  Ms Sun's readying herself to travel across the horizon.  The aroma of the sea and marsh is in the air as those stiff breezes are still making their presence known (SW 20-25mph).  It'll be mostly sunny today with clouds joining in the mix a bit later as temps go up into the mid-upper 50s with breezes out of the S-SW at 20-30mph +gusting.  Tonight...cloudy with a 60-80% chance of rain showers (beginning mostly on the overnight), breezes out of the S-SW at 18-23mph while temps drop back down into the upper 40s.  Looks like rain tomorrow as we all begin food prep.  Thanksgiving's weather is looking good!

A Blustery 50-50 Sunday

Mornin'!  It's 58° in Wildwood NJ.  It's raining lightly and still very windy (SW 20-30mph +gusting).  It's a great morning to sleep in.  Not my pooch though...he had to go out while it was still dark outside regardless of the winds and rain.  So, we're dried-off and it's blog and coffee time!  It'll be a rainy, blustery start to the day as these rain clouds won't pack it in until late morning.  Ms Sun will eventually rule the entire afternoon.  Expect sunshine with these "very happy to be here" winds roaring (there's a "Wind Advisory" posted today) out of the West at 20-30mph with serious gusting (up to 50mph).  You'll certainly be gripping the steering wheel a bit tighter on the Garden State Parkway, bridges or causeways if heading out.  It's a New Moon today too so be aware of the high tides as they'll no doubt be affected by the Moon's pull.  Try not to drive through any of that corrosive water flooding some areas.  Today's temps will actually drop from what they are now and back down to low-mid 50s.  Tonight...clear, temps in the low 40s with winds gusting out of the West at 23-29mph.  Tomorrow...sunny and still breezy.

It's 44° in Wildwood NJ.  Breezes are out of the West at 8-10mph.  We've got another perfect, crisp, clear autumn morn down the shore.  Ms Sun's about the rise and shine with those fleeting (here and there) clouds accompanying her.  It looks like it'll be just as gorgeous and colorful as last night's sunset.  There's a chilly, blustery Saturday on tap with temps seasonable in the mid-upper 50s.  Winds will be out of the S-SW at 20-30mph.  Expect limited amount of sunshine as the clouds are checking in by mid-day and mixed with those relentless winds...we've got us a gray, very blustery afternoon.  The ocean's relatively still warm at 59° which is keeping a bit of a warm insulator over the island.  There's a distinct difference between the mainland and the island's weather right now.  When changing seasons, the island's always wiping up the rear in the weather department.  Mainland's always first to experience the changing seasons...we're always last.  That includes warmer and milder weather sticking around just a bit longer.  Today thoughts are that it'll be a raw, cold day beginning this afternoon.  I don't care if the air and ocean temps are an insulating mid-upper 50s or not...those winds will be a challenging sea breeze for sure.  Don't rule out "mist" especially tonight.  Winds like these will produce lots of sea mist (terrific for the complexion).  As for tonight...clouds, more winds (S-SW 25-35 +gusting), mist leading to rain.  We'll be waking to rain tomorrow morning.  That rain by the way will be out of here my mid-day but those winds are staying checked in.  Oh...I almost forgot...New Moon's tomorrow.  And, just like the Full Moon it creates much higher (and sometimes even higher) than normal tides.  Don't drive through tidewater.

Mornin'!  It's 45° in Wildwood NJ.  Ms Sun's on her way and will most likely make a beautiful grand entrance with the splattering of clouds in the brightening sky.  It's breezy with NW winds at 16-20mph making it feel like 38°.  It'll be a crisp, breezy autumn day with temps tapping 50°, plenty of sunshine and winds out of the NW at 11-18 with gusts of 28mph.  Tonight... clear with breezes simmering down out of the W-NW at 9-12mph and temps in the low-mid 40s.  The weekend's looking eh...a little of this and that as showers could be on the weather menu Saturday overnight into Sunday morning but for the most part, I think we'll see lots of sunshine.

Turning Into A Decent (and blustery) Day

Mornin'!  It's 53° in Wildwood NJ.  (No typo).   It's mild out there this morning with the fragrance of the Marsh along with the sounds of surf crashing the shores. We've got cloud cover and everything's wet from a wee-morning shower.  We could see another before daybreak but expect a mostly sunny day with temps almost tapping 60° once the clouds check out.  Not much in the line of breezes at the moment...W-NW at 7-9mph but winds will be ramping up today out of the West at 20-25mph and by tonight...W-NW at 28-35mph w/gusting
as temps drop down into the mid-upper 40s.

Partly Gray Hump Day

Mornin'!  It's 43° in Wildwood NJ.  It's overcast and cloudy (some clearing here and there over at the horizon) and breezy with winds out of the E-NE at 18-20mph.  The early morning clouds are creating an insulator for that ocean the sound of the waves crashing.  It sounds like there's a highway down the street full of rush hour traffic but we know better...the ocean's 6 blocks away pounding the beach and no one's around as the island's pretty desolate.  It'll be a mostly cloudy with Ms Sun making her way through and still chilly with temps barely tapping 50° and breezes out of the E-NE; then East; then finally tonight...SE all around 10-12mph.  It'll be a mostly overcast / cloudy evening too but with rain showers due in late.  We might even wake to rain tomorrow morning.  Tonight's temps...upper 40s.  Grab the hairspray as the next 4 days are looking like bad hair days as the Autumn winds (wish it was "Summer Breeze") are checking in for a nice long weekend.  Speaking of the weekend...looking gray
and windy at this time (but weather can always change).

Rain Monday Morning

Mornin'!  It's 42° in Wildwood NJ.  It's raining (has been throughout most of the night) with a light Northerly breeze at 4-6mph.  It'll be raining throughout most of this morning as the rain clouds are due to check out by mid-day.  By late this afternoon, expect to see peeks of Ms Sun shining through.  Temps may tap 50° as N-NW breezes wift (I mean "waft") over the island at 8-10mph.  Tonight...clear, temps in the mid-upper 40s and breezes out of the North at 9-11mph.  Ms Sun returns without the clouds tomorrow.

Happy Veterans Day!

My husband's Platoon - Circa 1969 (2nd row/2nd from Right)
Mornin'!  It's 25° in Wildwood NJ.  Happy Veterans Day! This day of dedication is for all the Vets who have served and are serving in our military providing American's freedom.  Who knows what I'd be doing at this moment without my freedom.  This is my Veterans Day blog as my words are dedicated to you. It's clear and cold as the North winds are blowing at 12-18mph creating a 14° chill factor.  It's freezing and very unpleasant out there.  We're talking..."Why am I not in Florida" cold.  I love how the next season's weather creeps in giving you subtle glimpses and samplings of what's to come and then relaxes its grip providing what should be the weather norm.  Winter never is subtle though.  Never.  I'm losing my grip here as Winter's knocking at the front door.  Back to the current seashore weather...It's a crisp, clear morning with the fragrance of the Marshes in the biting air.  Ms Sun's heading over the horizon within a ½ hour.  It'll be a "pot of chili" Saturday with clear, sunny skies, cold temps (high of 39°) and winds out of the North at 12-15mph.  Tonight...clouds begin to roll on in with temps in the upper 20s / lower 30s with breezes out of the E-NE at 2-4mph.  Tomorrow...cloudy with peeks of sun and temps in the low-mid 40s with hardly a breeze.

Blustery Day Off

Mornin'!  It's 48° in Wildwood NJ.  It's clear (Ms Sun is up and a'tem).  It's windy...N-NW 25-30mph.  It feels like 39° with the "windy chill factor".  I slept in a bit thanks to the Veterans as the holiday honoring them (tomorrow) is a celebrated holiday today.  Extremely grateful to all who have served our country including my hubby.  Other gratefulness furnace as it's back on for another cold season and "is" working (so far, so good), my warm slippers, my hot cup of coffee and freshly baked corn muffins which I whipped up before making the bed and settling down for the blog.  It's going to be our first wintry day on the island this autumn season.  It'll be sunny day with some clouds hanging around as the temps continue to drop and the winds pick up.  By dinner time, it'll be in the low-mid 30's with winds continuing to howl from the N-NW at 20-25mph +gusting.  Tonight...temps will drop into the mid 20s (no typo) with those pesky winds adding to the chill.  I guess it's not only time to test the furnace, but dig out the scarf and gloves.   It'll be blue-sky sunny tomorrow with a high of 44° with the winds finally simmering down.  Sunday...gray.

Peeks of Sun Coming Later

Mornin'!  It's 53° in Wildwood NJ.  The cloud cover is still checked in with light breezes out of the E-NE at 10-15mph.  It'll be mostly cloudy again today as temps barely reach 60°.  I'm expecting some peeks of sunshine today as 2 of my weather sources said partial sunshine by sometime this afternoon.  Tonight...partly clear with partial cloud cover and temps in the mid-upper 40s with breezes out of the E-SE at 3-5mph early in the evening. They'll begin to increase as we get into the overnight (W-NW 15-25mph).  Tomorrow those winds will be ramped up even more and howling right through you out of the NW at 25+ mph creating a chill factor in the 30s (no typo).   Oh...and as for the weekend...sunny Saturday but cold (high of 42°) and cloudy Sunday with slightly warmer temps.

More Gray Dampness

Mornin'!  It's 43° in Wildwood NJ.  We're still under cloud cover with breezes out of the N-NE at 18-20mph giving us a 35° chill factor.  Brrrr...and my furnace still hasn't been fired up yet!  By the looks of this weekend's forecast, it will be and I'm just hoping it does fire up.  Our little gas fireplace has been doing the trick in its place for now though.  It'll be another crapola day with no sun to warm us...just those clouds which seem to be overstaying their welcome as of late along with those N-NE winds at 17-23mph.  All forecasts are saying cloudy with 15-25% chance of rain showers to add to today's weather mix.  Temps will be in the low-mid 50s.  Tonight...mostly cloudy with a slight possibility of showers, breezes out of the NE at 18-20mph and temps back down into the mid-upper 40s.  And, it looks like Ms Sun could be peeking through tomorrow!

Election Day in New Jersey!

Mornin'!  It's 46° in Wildwood NJ.  It's breezy (NE 13-16mph).  It's clear and starlit.  The porch thermometer was almost 20° warmer this time yesterday morning and it feels cold and crisp out there this early morn.  Sorry to say it'll be a washout at the Polls as we get into later this morning / early afternoon.  The rain clouds are-a-coming!  There's a 100% chance of rain showers today with temps in the mid-upper 50s and NE winds at 15-20mph.  Tonight...more rain with temps in the upper 40s and breezes out of the N-NE at 20-25mph w/gusting.  What a crapola forecast especially when you have to walk down the boardwalk to cast your vote at the Polls; or even better yet...when you're scheduled to have new carpeting installed in your bedrooms.  Oh well...Mother Nature always has the final say.

Monday Mix

Mornin'!  It's 63° in Wildwood NJ.  We're once again under cloud cover with a light breeze out of the SW at 10-15mph.  It's light out again at 6a.m.!  We're supposed to have some sunny sky (mostly this morning) with a mix of clouds and a 40% chance of rain showers off by this afternoon.  Temps will be in the upper 60s (possibly tapping 70°) with breezes out of the S-SW and switching from the W-NW by this evening.  Also this evening...clouds should be clearing out as temps drop into the low 50s.  Looks like we'll have pretty much the same tomorrow but the opposite with clear skies in the day and rain showers tomorrow night.

Sunset Beach, (The Sunset Grill) Cape May NJ
Mornin'!  It's 59° in Wildwood NJ.  It's raining with Easterly breezes at 9-12mph.  Expect some rain especially this morning (40% chance).  It should be light and only occasional but all the forecasts I've checked said rain mostly this morning.  By this could be just an occasional, brief, light shower but one thing's'll be mostly cloudy. (Don't rule out peeks of sun too).  Temps will be in the mid-upper 60s with breezes out of the S-SE at 10-12mph.  Tonight...clear with temps in the low 60s and breezes out of the S-SW at 9-10mph.  The Full Moon rises at 6:30p.m. if today's clouds provide enough clearance for visibility.  And, we're no longer in Daylight Savings Time as all the clocks were turned back an hour last night.

It's "Fall Back" as we Lose Daylight Savings Time (and gain an hour sleep)

Mornin'!  It's 49° in Wildwood NJ.  It's mostly clear with perfectly placed clouds at the horizon as the beautiful sunrise is on its way.  It's breezy with winds out of the NE at 15-20mph +gusts.  It'll be clear and sunny for the morning and part of the early afternoon.  Clouds will filter in and cover the island by later this afternoon.  Rain isn't on tap until we're turning the clocks back an hour (bedtime).  It'll be a mostly mild day with temps tapping 60° and breezes out of the E-NE at 14-17mph.  Tonight...clouds with rain late and overnight.  Temps down into the low-mid 50s and breezes out of the East at 13-16mph.  Tomorrow...just the opposite of today with rain until mid-day when Ms Sun may peeking back over us and temps in the mid-upper 60s.  Today is the actual Full "Beaver" Moon (it'll rise at 6:44p.m. tonight) as that moonrise will probably be missed thanks to the cloud cover.  Remember to turn your clocks back an hour before turning in as we're about to bid adieu to Daylight Savings Time until March 11, 2018!

Friday Loveliness

Mornin'!  It's 63° in Wildwood NJ.  We've got a repeat of yesterday...starting with starlit, moonlit skies and not much in the line of breezes this morning.  It'll be another pleasant, mild, Indian-Summer kind of day with temps tapping 70° and plenty of sunshine.  Breezes will be out of the SW at 10-12mph.  Tonight...clear with temps in the upper 50s and breezes out of the N-NW at 5-10mph.  The weekend forecast has switched up as the clouds decide to check in tomorrow and provide a chance of rains Saturday night into Sunday and possibly Monday.  Just saying.  We may not see the beautiful harvest full moon this weekend after all but there's always tonight...Moonrise is at 6:03p.m.!

All Souls Day (A Day to Commemorate All Those Who Have Departed)

First Presbyterian Church of Cape May NJ
Mornin'!  It's 63° in Wildwood NJ.  It feels mild when stepping outside.  It's cloudy and still (no breezes to note) with the aroma of the sea and sound of the ocean's waves crashing on the shore.  It'll be a nice day with partial sunshine (once most of the clouds check out this morning) with temps tapping 70° and breezes out of the S-SW at 8-10mph.  Tonight...clear with breezes switching a bit from the S-SE at 10-13mph and temps in the low 60s.  It should make for some lovely almost full moon illumination.  I was going to type...almost full "moon shine" but it just didn't work.  The next several days and nights (at least up until Monday) have clear sunny and moonlit skies with no rain in the forecast.  The weekend's looking good but with a bit cooler, more seasonable temps.  Speaking of the weekend, there are a couple's that time of the month...Full Moon time (on Saturday) and it'll be rising at 6:44p.m. over the ocean's horizon.'s that time of the year as it's the end of Daylight Savings time and those clocks have to be turned back an hour before turning in Saturday night.  I'm not even going to mention when Sunday's sunset will be.  As we take one day at a's weather is a keeper while we reflect on all our dearly departed.

Just Turn Over And Stay In Bed!

Mornin'!  It's 47° in Wildwood NJ.  That's almost a 20° difference than yesterday's 65° start to the day.  Add to that morning temp...25-35mph +gusting winds out of the West making a windchill of 38° and add to that a light misty rain and you get one hell of a miserable start to the day and week.  Those winds are-a-howling big time and have no plans on checking out.  It'll be gray, misty and windy up until later this morning or early this afternoon when Ms Sun will appear.  Temps will be in the mid-upper 50s with winds out of the West at 20-30mph with gusting up to 40mph.  Tonight...clear, temps in the low 50s and winds out of the SW at 20-25mph.  Tomorrow...pleasant (sunny and 60+ degrees).
