One Word: "Ahhhh"

If you haven't stuck your head outside yet this hump day morning, get ready...it's an "Ahhhhh" out there. Take a moment to stop and enjoy today. It's 64 degrees in WW this morning! I'm delighted to be typing that with windows once again wide open. Temps will rise to the mid to upper 70's today with a northerly breeze of 15-20mph. It will be partly cloudy throughout the day as there's still a 10-20% chance of a shower this morning. Ocean temp is a cool 60 something depending what beach you dip your toe. High tide in WW is 10:56a.m. this morning. I'm not one to say a whole lot about the forecast on an upcoming weekend especially a Holiday weekend, but I'll throw this one out there...looking really really good. More to come on that. For now...enjoy this perfect day. Ahhhhh!

More heatwave

Mornin'! It's currently 79 degrees in WW with a sunless, cloudy sky this morning. There's plenty of humidity though. No rain in the forecast, but it sure looks like it's about to downpour. Not much of a breeze as the leaves on the trees outside my window aren't budging an inch. Any breeze that does show itself...is coming from the west again at periodic 10mph which helps keep us insulated and warm on the island. The temperature will rise into the 90's again with just a 10% chance of a thunderstorm today. High tide is 4:09pm today and the ocean temp has dropped a bit but remains in the low 70's. A beach day? You decide.

Hazy, Hot and Humid Monday

Mornin'! It's currently 81 degrees in WW and it's not yet 7a.m. It's predicted to go into the mid to upper 90's again today with an intense heat index. (just like a wind chill factor in the winter, there's a heat index in the summer and it's looking like it may go over 100). There will be a hot westerly breeze (15-20mph) keeping the island insulated and warm; preventing the cool seabreeze from flowing over the beach. There's a possibility (50% chance) of Thunderstorms later today into this evening. Ocean temp is 77 degrees and the waves are 3-6'. High tide is 9:35a.m. today so park the beach blanket and umbrella close to the surf! The haze can be intense making the lifeguards work just a tad more challenging. It's certainly a beach day though...enjoy!

Sunday Sizzler

Mornin'! It's a Sunday Sizzler alright and I'm not talking sunday morning bacon. It's currently 76 degrees in Wildwood this morning and it's not 8:00a.m. The heat index is up today and will feel like 100 degrees on the island. It will actually be 93. Hazy, hot and humid all day with a southwest breeze (that's a hot breeze) at 5-10mph. No rain in sight. Ocean temp is 76 degrees. The high tide is...8:56a.m., so put that blanket, chair and umbrella right next to the water's edge. It's a beach day and my guess is a crowded one!

Full Moon Saturday

Mornin'! Happy Saturday. Happy weekend! Looks like a nice one too. It's currently 72 degrees in WW this morning. The sun's shining and the heat and humidity will be creeping back into our lives beginning today. It'll feel very warm as the temps will rise to the high 80's and may reach 90 today. There's a 30% chance of the ol' summer thunderstorm later today. It's very still outside as I type, but a light breeze from the southwest will be present later on the island. High tide is 8:11 this morning...meaning when you hit the beaches today, you can sit close to the water as the tide will be heading out. Ocean temp is 74 comfortable degrees. If you hear howling, it's due to the Full Moon which becomes full at 7:31 this morning. However, the moonrise tonight over the ocean is 8:52. If you're strolling the beach or boardwalk tonight, look toward the sea!

Soup's Still On!

Mornin' and a big TGIF! Yep...soup's still on as the "heat wave" is not only still out there, but will ramp up as we head into the weekend. It's currently 72 degrees in WW with sun-a-blazing this morning! Temperature will rise into the high 80's and may hit 90 but without the intense humidity of yesterday. There's not much of breeze to speak of this morning, although there's a northerly breeze coming in later at around 6-10mph. With this heat there's always the chance of a late day thunderstorm...20% so they say. For you Full Moon lovers...it's just about here. Tomorrow is the official full moon, but you could catch a moonrise tonight at 7:13pm if you're on the beach. If you've never seen a moonrise, they're pretty amazing to see. Ocean temp is 72 degrees and the tides will be a bit higher with that full moon approaching. Don't drive through the tide water along the island's streets as it's the Sea and the salt will corrode your vehicle! As for the weekend...Kenny Loggins will be heard everywhere you go if you listen carefully as the "Heat is on" so get to Wildwood and cool off!

Record Heat

Mornin'! Talk about "muggy"! Wow, it's warm this morning. Waking to sunshine, 79 humid degrees and no breeze gave me the urge to turn the hose on myself as I watered the garden. Today's temperature will go up into the high 90's today marking the record books as we could reach 95 degrees (or higher) in WW. It will be hazy with some cloudiness but the temps will remain very hot throughout the day. There will be a southwest breeze later at 5-10mph. The ocean temperature is an unbelievable 79 degrees. Keep in mind...the weather forecasters are calling for a chance of strong storms later today from all this heat building up. Nevertheless, I'd call this one a "10"...the beach is waiting.
