Gale Warnings Posted This Evening Until Tomorrow Evening

Today's Webcam Shot - North Wildwood

Mornin'!  It's 53° in Wildwood NJ.  We're under clear, dawn skies with breezes out of the S-SW at 15-20mph.  There's a thin line of clouds along the horizon as Ms Sun's about to present herself and paint the sky as only she can do.  It's one of those stunning Spring mornings down the Shore.  It's on the chilly, breezy side but it's all about that salty, briny air, the island birds loudly displaying their happiness and of course Ms Sun.  Regrettably it's all going to change for a short period of time beginning later this afternoon.  Today's weather has many layers.  First, this glorious morning with temps rising into the low 60s this afternoon; then, gusty winds enter the scene.  Storms are due in this afternoon as well as some may contain thunder, lightning, hail and gusty winds (gusts out of the SW) of up to 35mph. Chance of rain... 80%.  There's a Gale Warning posted from 6pm today until 6pm tomorrow.  This storm system will be bringing along much colder temps.  By tonight we'll see the thermometers drop to under 40° with a wind chill of 29° overnight.  Speaking of overnight, expect winds to increase even more with 40+mph gusts.  Strap down.  Tomorrow... sunny, high near 55° with very blustery winds (25-30mph +gusting) and tomorrow night... temps around 40° with those damn West winds still bringing that March feel over the island... 30mph gusts.  Friday... sunny with temps tapping 60° and finally calmer winds (still breezy but calmer).  At this time, the weekend's looking wet... Saturday night rains and Sunday morning/afternoon rains.  After all, it is the last weekend in April... and you know what April showers bring.  I say bring it!
