Everyone Knows It's Windy

This Morning's Webcam Shot - N.Wildwood

Mornin'!  It's 63° in Wildwood NJ.  Humidity's 95% with a dewpoint of 61°.  No rain at the moment but we're under heavy cloud cover.  Shall we mention the winds?  What a windy weekend we're having.  Winds have been and are currently out of the NE at 25-35mph +gusting.  At this point I don't think there's another direction of wind for awhile for us.  Ian's sporadic outer bands are creating havoc in this neck of the woods.  First of all, yesterday we received no rain expect for the very early morning.  The stiff, off-shore winds actually dried us out.  At times, they would get misty and almost foggy but that's as far as moisture got.  It looked dark and ominous the entire day, but just winds were happening in Wildwood.  I felt sorry about all those cancellations the City Administrators declared but better safe than sorry.  Even after yesterday's forecast debacle, I'm calling "rain" again as there's an 85% chance of a soaking rain today.  Who knows?  Ian's not making these forecasts easy let alone spot-on that's for sure.  Here's what I know... it'll be really windy down the shore today with Nor'easter (NE) winds at 25-35mph +gusting of up to 50mph.  Tonight... cloudy, windy and periods of rain (90% chance).  Temps will be much cooler... low 50s with N-NE winds at 25-35mph +gusting of up to 50mph.  Tomorrow... cloudy with periods of rain (100% chance) with temps barely tapping 60° and N-NE winds at 25-35mph +gusting.  Tuesday... more wind and rain (60% chance).  We just might see peeks of sun on Wednesday afternoon.  So, here are all of today's postings:
*Dangerous Rip Current until Oct.4th
*Hazardous Weather (heavy rain with winds)
*High Surf Advisory until Oct.4th
*Wind Advisory until Oct.3rd
*Coastal Flood Warning until Oct.3rd (8PM)
Be safe out there.  Know your high tides and low-lying areas on the island.  Keep in mind that the ocean's high tide times are an hour before the back marsh/bay area.  Don't drive through flood waters. Don't go into the ocean.  I'm staying put today and enjoying my homemade chicken-vegetable soup and some football (that's if the power stays on with these annoying winds)!  Go Eagles!
