Finn Has Come And Gone

Mornin'!  It's 44° in Wildwood NJ.  Winter storm Finn has come and (almost) gone.  The very tail end of it has light rain coming down on this cloudy start to the day.  Winds are still a bit stiff out of the W-SW at 20-25mph making it feel like 38°.  We received a big blast of Finn last night and the overnight with 70mph gusts of wind and rains that flooded those low-lying areas on the island.  My backyard is a low-lying area and is still under water and I have yet to see any wind damage. Expect a cloudy and windy hump day with rain continuing this morning, becoming sunny sometime later this afternoon as Finn does its final bow.  Today's temps will be in the mid-upper 40s with W-SW winds at 25-35mph +gusting.  Tonight... mostly clear, temps in the upper 30s and West winds at 10-20mph.  Tomorrow... New Moon Thursday will be sunny, temps near 50° and W-SW breezes at 10-15mph.  Tomorrow night... clear, 42° and West winds at 5-10mph.  As for Friday... the weather folk are announcing Winter Storm Gerri which is on its way over the Pacific Northwest and Northern California as I type.  It looks like it's going to check in here along the I95 corridor from Boston to Washington DC including the Northeast sometime Friday evening and continuing into the overnight.  For now, they're saying strong winds and heavy rainfall.  If the temperatures drop down enough, we could see a wintry mix (possibly some snowfall). Flooding on already saturated ground (this island's saturated most of the time) is a major concern.  Lest not forget another round of those strong winds will be accompanying Gerri.  Saturday (which is Wildwood's Polar Plunge) looks like it'll be partly sunny, temps around 50° with W-SW winds at 20-25mph.  Sunday... sunny, temps around 40° and winds out of the West at 20-22mph.
