It's the Weekend!

last night's Boardwalk power outtage
Mornin'!  It's 75° in Wildwood NJ.  Humidity's 93% with a dewpoint of 74°.  Ms Sun's trying to shine through the hazy sky.  We have power!  For those not in our "electric conundrum", Wildwood's electric substation had a fire at one of its transformers causing an entire island power failure around noon yesterday.  Crazy as it sounds, I was enjoying my first beach day of 2023 when all this was occurring.  I got an alert on my phone from my Cable company that electric will be restored as soon as possible. We came home from beach around 3pm to a somewhat still cooled house (we always shut blinds, curtains etc. when it's hot outside and air conditioner is on). Hubby immediately went off the island to retrieve some ice as I gathered candles for the night shift.  We did a little grilling,  hunkered down like the rest of the folk here and relaxed outside on a beautiful, very quiet summer evening.  The sea breeze was fantastic.  The quiet was jaw-dropping.  Fast forward to around 7:30pm last night and thankfully our power came back on.  Unfortunately it wasn't to be for many here.  In fact, there are still about 8,000 homes without power as I blog.
Today's weather... a mix of sun and clouds, a slight possibility (25% chance) of a stray shower or thunderstorm this afternoon.  Temps will be in the low-mid 80s with SE winds at 5-10mph.  Tonight... mostly cloudy, still a chance of a shower or thunderstorm and temps down into the low-70s with South winds at 5-10mph.  Tomorrow... starting out cloudy then looking wet with 60-70% chance of rain.  There's a potential for severe thunderstorms.  Temps will be in the low-80s with S-SE winds at 10-15mph.  Monday... unsettled with mostly cloudy conditions with the possibility of on an off rain showers.  Temps in the low-80s with W-NW winds at 10-15mph.  Tuesday... perfection.  Blue skies and warm temps.
