Lovely Hump Day

Mornin'!  It's 35° in Wildwood NJ.  Ms Sun's up and shining brightly!  It feels like 29° with the windchill due to the N-NE breeze at 5-10mph.  It'll be mostly sunny with some of those milky clouds in the mix today.  Temps will be in the mid-40s with NE winds at 10-15mph.  Tonight... clear, starlit skies, temps in the mid-30s with light and variable breezes.  Tomorrow... sunny with a few afternoon clouds, temps in the mid-upper 40s and light and variable winds.  Friday... mostly sunny, upper 40s and light Southerly breezes.  Saturday... overcast with gray skies and 25% chance of rain showers, temps in the low-50s and SW breezes at 5-10mph.  Sunday... waking to rain, mostly cloudy day with temps around 50° (no typo) and W-NW winds at 5-10mph.  This week marks 14 years that we had one of the worst winter storms (aka Snowmageddon) in Wildwood's history.  It was on Super Bowl weekend too.  It actually was 2 storms (Feb 5th and 6th and again Feb 9th and 10th) the latter being the worst here along the coast.  We received  almost 2" of snow an hour.  There was at least 18" of snow much of which was even higher drifts due to the storm's intense winds. The houses were varnished with an icy/snowy shell.  I can only equate it to The Shining.  Wildwood was pummeled and the island was left without power for days. It was an incredible test of endurance.  My neighborhood... 6 days of icy, cold darkness.  On the bright side... that storm provided that very moment that my hubby and I made the decision that as soon as we could, we were going to head  to Key West.  Two months later we were arriving in Key West for the very first time enjoying the warm tropics. We have vacationed there over 10 times since then.  At this time, Kayden (the next winter storm) is on the move in this direction.  The weather officials are saying it could arrive here along the Coast by next week sometime (possibly Tuesday). So far, it appears that these warmer temps will bring rain not the white stuff.  Today's focus is that another winter's beauty is ahead and that lovely walk I'll be taking in a little while!
