A Serious "Cold-Snap" Has Checked In

Mornin'!  It's 24° in Wildwood NJ.  It's feeling like 11° with the winds out of the NW at 15-25mph.  It's clear as Ms Sun's on the rise.  She'll be up in minutes  from now.  Speaking of "sun", it'll be another sunny day but much colder than yesterday.  Today's temps will be in the upper 20s feeling more like the low-mid teens due to those W-NW winds at 15-25mph +gusting.  Tonight... clear skies, temps in the low-20s (still feeling like teens) and N-NW winds at 10-15mph.  Tomorrow... another sunny day, a little warmer but still with gusty winds.  Expect sunshine and Southerly winds at 20-30mph +gusting but temps will be around 40° feeling more like 30°.  Tomorrow night... partly cloudy, temps in the upper 30s and SW winds at 15-25mph.  Thursday... sunny, temps in the upper 40s and W-SW winds at 10-15mph.  Friday... cloudy, temps around 40° and N-NW winds at 5-10mph.  I'd be remiss if I didn't mention this coming weekend's weather. A major, widespread winter storm (named "Fern") is coming from the West and South into parts of the Mid-Atlantic and East beginning Friday.  For us along the Southern coast of NJ, things could begin to take shape Saturday night when we could begin to feel the effects of this winter storm.  It'll be seriously cold (20° feeling like 9°) with blustery winds and snowfall up to 8".  Sunday... still very cold (in the teens) and still very windy with more snow accumulating at 3-5".  Sunday night... extremely cold (low-20s feeling like the teens) with more snow 1-3".  All toll: potentially over a foot of snow.  As all forecasts are currently saying... "potentially" and "wiggle room" on how this storm lands here, committing to our area getting a direct hit is vague but this is a widespread storm though as well as coming from the South (which are 2 strikes against us).  Considered a "Nor'easter"... they're not at all kind to us.  Preparedness is key... prepare for the worst like power outtages, icy conditions, more snow than forecasted and all that stuff you need to survive a major storm in place (batteries, chargers charged, candles, coolers, generators, etc). You know... just in case.
