Happy July!

Mornin'!  Welcome July!  It's 71° in Wildwood NJ.  We're under overcast, quiet, very still (no breezes) and very humid conditions.  We had a heavy downpour just before daybreak and we're in the tropics at the moment with all the moisture and humidity over the island.  There's a humid haze over us (90% humidity).  It'll be a mostly cloudy one with occasional breaks of sunshine.  There are scattered thunderstorms in the forecast all day and even a possibility into tonight (50% chance).  Keep your eye on the doppler as they could be severe. (Two forecasts mentioned hail and damaging winds...just saying). Temps will be in the mid-upper 80s, humidity high and breezes out of the South at 10-15mph.  Tonight...mostly clear but still the possibility of those scattered showers and/or those ugly thunderstorms.  Temps back down into the low-mid 70s with breezes out of the W-SW at 10-15mph.  The holiday weekend's still looking A-OK other than there's now rain in the forecast Monday night...pack the rain parka for the Tim McGraw beach concert!
High tide:6:12p.m.
Low tide:11:36a.m.

Rip Currents:Low risk
My Weekly Beach Etiquette tips:
~never leave trash on the beach and even better yet...pick up any you see whether it's yours or not.
~don't forgot those cigarette butts...collect and trash them (or just don't smoke and pollute the lovely sea air).
~remember to pack those headphones (believe it or not no one wants to hear your music).
~kindly give your neighbors space when selecting your beach site.  Careful not to plop down too close or on top of their beach space.
~always remind your kids beach etiquette especially not running too close to others and avoid digging up, kicking or throwing sand near those sitting next to you.
~play ball, frisbee, corn hole, kite-flying etc on the back side of the beach and not near beach goers (the beach patrol will usually stop you anyway if your in the wrong area.)
~ no feeding the seagulls (big no-no). And, eat and snack smartly...under your hooded sand chair, or umbrella as these beach vultures will eye each and every beach goer looking for the right opportune moment to swoop down and pluck your lunch right out of your hand or mouth.  Once they get you then the havoc begins as all the other gulls attack for your scattered food.
~shake towels and blankets away from others noting the wind direction.
~follow posted warnings and pay attention to lifeguards.
~(hubby suggested this one) If you must use your cell phone on the beach...courtesy would be taking the call away from all the surrounding beach goers and head to a quieter/private area (dune side of the beach).
