See ya June!

Mornin'!  It's 69° in Wildwood this last day of June. So far, this summer's been "eh" as rain showers seem to be constantly looming in the daily forecasts.  Today's no exception as it's currently cloudy with a light breeze wifting (I mean wafting) in from the South.  It'll be mostly overcast and cloudy today with scattered showers forecasted.  There's even a chance of thunderstorms and rainfall could be heavy at times (70% chance).  "Peeks of sun" are hard to find in any of the weather reports for today, but Ms Sun's trying her best to peek through this morning cloud cover.  It is brightening up as I type.  But, chance of showers are in the lineup for not only throught the day, but right into tonight.  For you diehards who intend on dipping regardless...there's a "rip current" warning posted all day today with some high wave action of 4-6' as the ocean will be churning up good.  Temps today will be tapping 80°s as breezes are staying from the South at 7-14mph.  It was fun while it lasted June and we can only hope July provides some better weather.

An "iffy" weekend and week ahead

Mornin'!  It's 72° under rainy skies in Wildwood.  It's wet and muggy this last Saturday in June.  Ms. Sun is suppose to make an appearance today as temps get up into the 80's.  There's a 30% chance of rain showers throughout the day, increasing a bit this evening.  Breezes will be out of the SW and then S-SW at 10-15mph.   Not a total washout, and leaning towards a bar-tan type of day!

Still In The Soup

Mornin'!  It's 71° in Wildwood.  It's clear, a tad breezy, sea air fragrant and a bit muggy with high humidity this last friday of June.  Ms Sun's just about over the horizon and it's looking like clear sailing ahead as there's not much in the line of cloud cover blocking her way today.  It'll be another sunny, warm and  humid day at the shore as temps get into the mid-upper 80's again.  Breezes will be out of the SW at 15-20mph.  There's a 30% chance of thunderstorms this afternoon and a 60% chance this evening.  Looks like this forecast can be repeated for the next week as the warm, humid, tropical weather brings with it chances of thunderstorms almost everyday.  Had a good one last night as the Mother Natures's thunder and lightning put on a sensational show for WW but the real fireworks are coming tonight at 10p.m. not to mention St. Anthony's paying a visit in North Wildwood kicking off that ol' Italian Festival.

Last Thursday of June

Mornin'!  It's 73° in Wildwood.  It's a typical, island, summer morn with no breezes, clouds covering the sunrise and the fragrance of the sea weighing heavy in the humid air.  The sun is coming though and is already painting the sky with magnificent colors using the clouds as its palette.  Love sunrises like this...they're my favorite.  It'll be partly sunny/partly cloudy today with more warm temperatures on tap up around the mid-upper 80's.  Breezes will begin later from the SW at 5-10mph and shift mainly from the South at 20-25mph.  60% chance of thunderstorms this afternoon and 100% tonight.  Get the candles out.  I got mine out last night when the lightning and thunder rolled in around 9p.m. The rains never got here though.  I'd do my beach time and outdoor activities early today.

Another great day at the Shore

Mornin'!  It's 73° in WW.  The sun just appeared over the horizon.  It's hazy, warm and still.  We're looking at more warm, sunny, summer weather at the Shore.  There's a mix of clouds and sun as the haze continues to bare down on the island.  Don't let the overcast/haziness fool you as the sun index is high and you'll need sunblock more than ever.  There's a 20% chance of a stray afternoon thunderstorm.  Temps may tap 90° but forecasters say mid-upper 80's.  Breezes will be out of the W-SW and shift a bit from the S-SW all at 10-15mph.  It's a good one!

Hazy, Hot and Humid

Mornin'!  It's 72° in Wildwood this humid, muggy morning.  The sun's just over the horizon as the sky has that reddish glow about it.  Gotta watch those "red skies in the morning".  No breezes at the moment yet they'll be coming a bit later from the W-SW at 10-15mph.  It'll be mostly sunny, hazy, hot and humid today with temps in the mid-upper 80's.  There's a 30% chance of a shower and/or thunderstorm later this afternoon.  It almost seems as if the rest of the week will have this same forecast too as the hazy, hot and humids seem to be checked in for awhile.  My guess is everyone's headed to the beach today.

Bright Monday Moon

Mornin'!  It's 72° this still, humid, muggy morning on the island (humidity is 89%). Seems a bit overcast for the sunrise, but clouds always seem to add drama and color during the sunrises and sunsets.  It'll be similar to yesterday and be mostly sunny with temps hitting the mid-80's.  Breezes are coming from the SW at 8-11mph.  Yesterday turned out to be another breezy, sunny day at the Shore.  That is, until around bedtime when the rains came and rinsed us off.  Same may happen today as there's a 30% chance of a isolated shower or thunderstorm this evening as temps drop back into the 60's.  That  ol' full moon is still shining brightly for at least another day and evening.  It was shining brightly at 5a.m. this morning.

Super Moon Sunday

Mornin'!  It's 69° in Wildwood.  The clouds have checked in!  I thought those forecasters were saying that we were headed for excellent weather this entire weekend.  Yesterday was incredible but this morning...it's looking very ominous out there.  Today's forecasts (I've check out 3 different ones) all said that we're going to have a mostly cloudy day with scattered rain showers/thunderstorms due in after noon (40% chance).  I'm bummed.  After yesterday's superb beach day and full moon rise (albeit a huge pipe lay in the center of the beach doing it's beach replenishment thing) and a forecast for the same today...I'm surprised, disappointed and bummed.  Breezes are hardly out there at the moment but will ramp up later this morning from the S-SE at 15-20mph with 25+mph gusts.  Temps...high 70's.

Beautiful First Saturday of Summer

Mornin'!  It's 64° in Wildwood this first Saturday of Summer.  The sun's up, the sky is blue and there's not much in the line of breezes.  It's a perfectly lovely morning at the Shore.  It'll stay that way too for the weekend and today kicks off with mild temps as we head into the low-mid 70's with sun shining all day.  Breezes will be very light from the S-SE at 8-10mph.  Tomorrow...just about the same with just a tad warmer on the temperature.  It's a beach day!

Hello Summer!

Mornin'!  It's 59° in WW.  Summer's here...the longest day of the year!  I guess Australia is saying "Hello Winter" today.   I always think of Down Under each time the season changes as Australia is the polar opposite of North America.  Come September, they'll be having Spring.  The forecast for us today and this weekend is looking lovely.  I could cut and paste yesterday's weather right onto today's.  Currently no breezes to post.  The early sky is brightening with the sunrise as the sky is clear and cloudless.  It'll be sunny and mild with temps reaching the low-mid 70's again.  Breezes will wift (I mean waft) in from the E-SE at 8-10mph.  The weekend's looking pretty much the same albeit Sunday will be warmer.  There's no rain in the forecast until Tuesday just in case there's watering needed in the garden.  Happy Summer!

Mornin'!  It's a chilly 59° this early Spring morning.  The sky is clear and Ms Sun is on her way over the horizon.  No breezes as the tree out front has not one leaf moving at the moment.  Afternoon breezes will come off the ocean (East) at 5-10mph. It'll be sunny all throughout the day as temps just about tap the 70° mark.  A very nice day for this last day of Spring.  Summer's finally tapping at the door.  So is the Full Moon...it's this weekend.

"Iffy" beach day number 2

Mornin'!  It's 64° in Wildwood.  We're under cloudy skies for the most part but there's clearing yonder.  I can see breaks in the clouds where the sun's rising and I guess they're battling out as I type.  I'm not sure if we'll see sun or not this early morn.  There is a 30% chance of a shower or two thrown in the mix.  Not much in the line of breezes to write about but what little's out there is coming from the N-NE at 5-10mph and will shift later from the East at 10-15mph.  It appears from all the forecasts that we'll have mostly cloudy conditions with peeks of sun throughout the day and by early evening may see a decent sunset.  So, another "iffy" beach day.  There's always a visit to "Hooked On Books" at 3400 Pacific Avenue for cheap used books or better yet, the Public Library at 5300 Ocean Ave.  It's always a perfect day for a good book!  3 more days until Summer!

An "iffy" beach day

Mornin'!  It's 68° in Wildwood, a bit overcast as the sun is rising and painting the clouds every pastel shade you can imagine.  There's a comfortable breeze from the West which will stick around all day at 7-12mph.  It looks like rain is in the forecast for today...80% chance and it could bring not only showers, but a couple good thunderstorms and heavy rains right into the afternoon and evening.  I think peeks of sun are in the mix too. Temps will reach the upper 70's as the clouds will seem to have their way with us.  You might have to find something else to do rather than sit on the beach.  You can always row out to Walmart!

Mornin'!  Happy belated "Father's Day" to all the dads out there.  Took a little road trip this weekend and didn't blog on Father's Day but we're up and blogging this last Monday of Spring.  It's 70° in Wildwood.  "Red Sky in the morning; sailors take warning."  There was a very deep red sky at dawn this morning and from my past experiences...I'd take it seriously.  Sometime today...my bet is that there's going to be a storm.  Mark my words.  It'll be partly cloudy/partly sunny as temps head into the upper 70's and the breezes stay quiet from the W-SW at 10-15mph.  There's a 20% chance of thunderstorms today and tonight...30% chance.  Chance of rain/storms continue right up until Thursday.  Friday is Summer!

Wildwood morn.  Everything's still damp and somewhat drippy, but Ms. Sun's back and without a doubt everything will begin to dry out.  It'll be a lovely spring day down the shore.  Temps will be in the mid-upper 70's as breezes wift (I mean waft) in from the W-NW at 7-10mph.  Tomorrow...the day begins with sun but those clouds that have been overstaying their welcome are checking back in by late afternoon bringing the chance of some showers.  The focus is on today...a beauty!

Mornin'!  It's get this...59° in Wildwood.  It's overcast and breezy and just a wee bit chilly this Flag Day.  Temps will barely tap the 70° mark today.  There's a 30% chance of showers right into this evening.  The winds will be doing some shifting around as at the moment they're coming from the North at 25-30mph and will shift around.  By noon, they'll be still ramping up out of the N-NE and by early this evening...they'll calm down out of W-SW at 5-10mph.  We could see peeks of sun later today, but it'll be mostly overcast, cool, breezy and possibly wet.  Tomorrow's the winner as Ms. Sun and Mr. Blue Sky will reappear.  One week until Summer!

Derecho Day!

Mornin'!  It's 66° in breezy, cloudy Wildwood.   We've been making national news as of late as our illustrious city commissioners have come up with yet another asinine idea of violating and fining those walking around wearing trousers/shorts too low exposing underpants/skin.  Glad they weren't the commissioners when I was walking the boardwalk with hipster bell bottoms down to you know where in my hayday.  It'll be a partly sunny start to the day today although at the moment the clouds are winning that contest.  By this afternoon temps will be tapping 80° as the fun begins and very strong winds and downpours are forecasted.  90% chance of severe storms brought to us by a Derecho this afternoon.  Definition: Derecho is a Spanish word meaning “straight” or “direct”. In terms of weather, a derecho is a long-lived windstorm with winds in excess of 58 mph. This is equivalent to the damage that can occur during an F1 tornado. The winds are sustained winds and not simply single bursts of wind. There can be gusts of winds in excess of 100 mph. The winds are non-tornadic, although an actual tornado can accompany a derecho. The storms are over 250 miles in length and can cause extensive damage.  Our forecasted winds will be coming from the S-SW at 20-25mph throughout the day.  Tonight...60% chance of rain.  Hunker down.

Mornin'!  It's 68° in WW.  The trees are happily blowing in the seabreeze as the sun crosses the horizon while I'm typing away this morning.  The aroma of the sea is in the air.  Temps are going to just tap the 80° mark today as it'll be partly cloudy/partly sunny.  The chance of scattered showers and/or thunderstorms is greater today (50%) as the humidity builds and the rains may come through late this afternoon.  Winds will be initially out of the West and shift a bit from the W-NW at 8-12mph.

Dampness abounds

Mornin'!  It's 66° in foggy Wildwood.  We're in the soup as I type.  It's breezy and drippy in the quietness on this early morn.  Rain's are-a-coming.  There's a 90% chance that it's going to be a rainy one today as moderate to heavy rain showers are in all the forecasts I've checked.  By the way...it's looking like a rainy week as the sun may peek out here and there but the first really sunny day this week looks like Friday.  Breezes are currently out of the SE at 15-20mph and will shift a bit from the South at 20-25mph w/gusting.  Temps will get up into the 70s again as we can take "watering the garden" off the things to do checklist.  I'm grateful to have been able to get to the beach yesterday and enjoy a really beautiful, relaxing day there.

Nicest One of the weekend

Mornin'!  It's 65° in sunny Wildwood.  Looks and feels lovely this morning as there's a light breeze in all the opened windows.  I can hear gulls in the distance as well as a Dove or an Owl.  Wish I was a birder at the moment as I'm not sure which it is making that cooing sound but it's right outside my front porch window.  It'll be the nicest of the weekend today as the clouds and rain are mostly out of here.  All forecasts say it'll be partly sunny with some cloudiness thrown in the mix and

a slight chance of an isolated thunderstorm later.  Temps will be in the low-mid 70's.  Breezes continue from the S-SE at 5-8mph.  High tide:9:19a.m.; Low tide:2:56p.m.; Ocean temp:62°; Sunset:8:25p.m.

Mixed Bag

Mornin'!  It's 66° in cloudy, overcast Wildwood.  It feels and smells like the island's waterlogged.  Forecast is "iffy" today as there's a 25% chance of an isolated thunderstorm or scattered shower throughout the day.  We're calling it "partly sunny" or "partly cloudy"...your choice.  I'll be content with a little sun today as it'll certainly help with the dry out.  Temps are getting into the low-mid 70's with breezes from the W-SW at 8-12mph.  Every forecast I checked said "Rip Current" risks are high today for anyone entering the surf.  My bets are down for the Elks Parade and Mummers Parade not getting rained out. Tonight...back into the 60's and remaining partly cloudy.  Tomorrow...less of a chance of rain but clouds will still be in the mix.

Rainy First Friday of June

Mornin'!  It's 65° in Wildwood.  The island's cloud covered as the rains have begun to pour down.  It's breezy and will get breezier as today progresses coming from the S-SE at 20-25mph and will ramp up with gusting from the same direction at 35-40mph.  There's a 100% chance of rain today and most of it heavy as this fast moving tropical storm crosses our sandy path.  The island is under a flood watch as at least 2" of rain are expected (maybe more some forecasts say).  Temps are supposed to reach the low-70's and make for a muggy one.  Weekend's looking 50-50 as tomorrow may be cloudy and have an isolated shower or two and Sunday...sunnier.  Thought for the day..."flipflops or wellies"?

Spring in the air!

Mornin'!  It's 59° in WW this morning.  The air has a bit of a chill in it along with the fragrance of the sea wifting (I mean wafting) in the light breeze.  The sky is clear and about to welcome Ms. Sun as she's crossing the horizon as I type.  It'll be partly sunny today with temps tapping 70° again as we enjoy yet another lovely Spring day down the Shore.  Breezes will begin to ramp up this afternoon from the E-SE at 18-20mph and by tonight 20-26mph as clouds and rain have the island in its sites.  Rain showers should be beginning by bedtime tonight and continue right through until Saturday.  We're expecting a pretty decent rain event tomorrow.  But for today...a nice one so get out and enjoy!

Mornin'!  It's 58° in sunny Wildwood-by-the-Sea!  There's not a cloud in the sky and Ms. Sun's up and shining brightly.  It'll be sunny today with temps in the mid-high 60's and perhaps tapping the 70° mark.  Breezes will be light coming from the E and shifting from the E-SE at 8-12mph.  Another nice Spring day at the Shore.  Rains are still due in this weekend...mostly Friday and Saturday as Sunday's looking sunny.

Spring in the air!

Mornin'!  It's 63° in Wildwood.  Part of the morning sky is clear and the other part...thick, gray clouds.  The part that's clear is where the sun is rising at the moment.  And, the clouds are beginning to turn pink and purple.  I was just outside on the back porch checking the ol' thermometer and was lucky to see a loud, geese flyover right over my head.  A really nice start to the day.  Breezes are in the morning mix coming from the North at 15-20mph.  They'll shift by mid-day from the W-NW at 5-10mph.  Temps are hitting the low-70's as Ms. Sun pours down all day.  Just another perfect Spring day down the Shore!  I hate to ruin this blog post, but Friday, Saturday and Sunday have rain in the forecast.  Hubby keeps saying "I have a gut feeling that this summer's going to be a rainy weekend summer."  Jeez, I hope he's wrong.

Mornin'!  It's 65° in WW.  The island's having a light shower at the moment.  Winds are coming from the S-SW at 20-25mph.  It's looking like a rainy day at the shore today as there's a 90% chance of rain showers all day into tonight.  The clouds and rain should be out of here by tomorrow early afternoon. Winds will be shifting later this afternoon and come from the N-NW at 5-10mph as temps move up into the lo-mid 70s.  Pack those umbrellas as Mother Nature is watering those lovely green lawns, Spring flowers and plants for us today.  Nothing like good ol' rainy days and Mondays!  High tide:5:08p.m.; Low tide:10:34a.m.; Ocean temp:59°; Sunset:8:22p.m.

Another lovely Shore Day!

Mornin'!  It's 64° this breezy, first Sunday of June.  The sky is clear and we'll all get to see Ms. Sun as she's rising as I type.  The birds seem to be shouting the good news..."another lovely Spring day at the shore".  Temps will reach the mid-upper 70's as breezes continue to keep us cool.  Coming from the S-SW at 25-30mph with some gusting, the winds will make for a perfect "linens on the line" kind of day.  Not what you would call a great beach day...for lounging that is; perhaps a walk on the beach instead.  The sun will stick around until this evening as rain (could be heavy at times) is due to check in tonight and not check out until Tuesday (70% chance).
