We're In The Deep Freeze This Last Day Of January! See You Next Year!

Mornin'!  It's 12° in Wildwood NJ.  We're under clear starlit skies and breezes out of the N-NE at 10-15mph giving us a windchill of -2°.  We're in the midst of a Polar Vortex which is basically North Pole weather reaching down and covering the midwest and eastern part of the country which is triggering the coldest arctic outbreak in the last two decades.  Along the eastern coast expect dangerously cold conditions in the forecast for today until the weekend (the weekend brings in warmer temperatures (30s / 40s).  There's a wind chill advisory posted today until tomorrow afternoon.  Take heed when outside and be diligent with covering any exposed skin.  Remember to use the doggie coat on that Pooch.  We will have sunshine today as temps tap 20° with W-NW winds at 10-15mph creating a windchill of around 9°.  Tonight... clear, 18° (wind chill of 9°) and winds out of the West at 4-8mph.  Tomorrow... gray, icy cold, snow flurries/showers in the afternoon.  Next up... February and until next year... auf wiedersehen January!  Oh, also next up... instead of homemade soup, I decided to make a pot of Jambalaya... andouille sausage, shrimp and chicken are in the house!

Vortex Wednesday!

Mornin'!  It's 23° in Wildwood NJ.  It's clear and very cold with a windchill of 13°.  We had snow showers and light rain overnight and there's a very light layer of snow/frost on some things outside (vehicles, trash cans, grass, adirondacks, bench etc.).   Ms Sun's about to rise and shine.  It'll be a sunny start to the day with increasing clouds by late this afternoon bringing some more snow showers (40% chance).  Temps will get up to the mid-upper 30s with W-SW winds at 20-30mph with that windchill tagging along.  Tonight... 20% chance of precipitation with a low of 11° and winds out of the NW at 20-30mph and a dangerous wind chill of 0°.  It's the Polar Vortex as it's checking in tonight.  It seems as though the entire mid-west and northeast is a victim of Mr. Vortex for the next few days!  We won't be getting the mid-west -40° but we'll be rip-roaring cold.  Tomorrow will be sunny with a high of 19° and a wind chill of 2°.   The weekend ahead is supposed to be much warmer (40s).

Gray, Windy and Wet Tuesday

Mornin'!  It's 35° in Wildwood NJ.  It's a frosty morning as we've got frost on everything outside. We also got thick cloud cover.  Breezes are somewhat light out of the E-SE at 5-10mph.  It's brisk and briny out there.  It'll be a gray day with plenty of cloudiness and temps in the low-mid 40s with a 60% chance of rain.  There could be peeks of sun in the morning but the afternoon looks mostly gray as the weather turns wet by tonight.  Winds will become very stiff out of the S-SE at 10-20mph +gusting.  We may see snow showers too.  Tonight... 100% chance of precipitation.  Since temps will be heading down into the upper 20s / low 30s we may see snowy / icy conditions with W-NW winds at 10-20mph +gusting.  No accumulation or anything but it'll be freezing cold and blustery along with the possibility of icy conditions.  Careful out there!  Tomorrow... cloudy with peeks of sun but very cold (it'll feel like the temp is in the teens) with the blustery winds.

Kind Of Gray Monday

Mornin'!  It's 34° in Wildwood NJ.  It's cloudy and breezy (North 12-16mph).  Feels like 25°.   No frost this morning but it's crisp with those North winds going right through you when stepping outside into the darkness of the pre-dawn.  It'll be a mostly cloudy day with peeks of sun as temps hover around where they are now (mid-30s).  Winds will be out of the N-NE at 10-20mph making it feel like 26°.  Tonight... clear, temps in the low-30s with breezes out of the East to SE at 5-10mph.  Tomorrow should be about 10° warmer but wet and feeling raw as there's a 70% chance of rain showers by mid-day.  As the temps drop in the late evening we could see snow showers and/or flurries and even a coating of the white stuff.  Unfortunately, by Wednesday that brute Ol' Man Winter really settles in with 15° (-1° windchill) being the high.

A Mix Of Clouds And Sun Sunday

Mornin'!  It's 37° in Wildwood NJ.  It's clear and calm as it's dark and starlit outside.  It's the darkest before the dawn and this morning's no exception.  It's quiet with hardly a breeze (S-SE at 2-3mph) as the stars are vividly twinkling this morning.  There's a layer of white sparkling frost on everything as winter's lying on the island's surface.  And, that sea air!  Ms Sun's due up in just over an hour and she'll change everything.  Expect that frost to melt away once she crosses the horizon. We'll have morning clouds drift in a bit later which will give way to mostly cloudy skies by this afternoon.  Temps will be in the mid-40s with S-SW winds checking in at 10-20mph.  Tonight... cloudy with temps dropping into the mid-upper 20s and N-NW winds at 5-10mph.  Tomorrow will also have a mix of clouds and sun with 10° cooler temperatures. Speaking of the temps... they will be dropping significantly next week as Old Man Winter has a plan for us which is those frigid winter temps that are heading our way by the end of the week.  And, here's an FYI... Melbourne Australia is having their Summer and was over 100° a couple days ago.  Our Spring is 53 days away and Summer is 106 days away if that helps keep the chill away a little bit.

Lovely Winter's Saturday

Mornin'!  It's 30° in Wildwood NJ.  Ms Sun's up and shining brightly.  No breezes to note.  It's a clear, crisp, lovely winter morning down the shore.  The brine is in the air and it's great... nothing like it!  It'll be a mostly sunny day with temps nearly tapping 40° and breezes out of the E-NE at 5-8mph.  Tonight... clear, temps around the mid-30s with E-SE breezes at 7-10mph.  Tomorrow... sunny, a tad warmer (mid-40s) and that ol' sea breeze making it feel cooler than it is.

Decent Winter Weather - TGIF

Mornin'!  It's 33° in Wildwood NJ.  Feels like 26° with the W-NW winds at 10-15mph.  It's sunny and bright with not a cloud in the clear, blue sky.  A 180° from yesterday's miserable wind-driven rains.  It'll actually be a pleasant winters day with lots of sunshine and temps just about tapping 40°.  Of course, the winds will still be tapping us on the shoulder as well out of the W-NW at 18-26mph making a 30° windchill.  Tonight... clear and starlit with temps in the upper 20s and NW breezes at 10-13mph.  The weekend's mostly sunny (clouds in the mix) and much like today with temps around the same as today.  Tuesday evening is when we'll likely see wet weather again.

Today's Special: Crapola Weather

Mornin'!  It's 47° in Wildwood NJ.  It's raining with winds out of the South at 25-35mph.  It's perfectly miserable outside this morning.  It'll be like this throughout the day with rain (heavy at times), temps in the low 50s, and those wicked winds.  Expect very blustery conditions, in fact, there's a wind advisory posted.  Southerly winds at 28-40mph w/gusting are on today's weather menu.  Tonight... the rain clouds will begin to dissipate as it'll become mostly clear, low of 30° and still breezy (NW at 20-25mph +gusting).  Tomorrow... clear and blustery.  Saturday and Sunday... mostly sunny and calmer.

Mostly Gray Humpday

Mornin'!  It's 35° in Wildwood NJ.  The island's under very light cloud cover.  You can barely see the moon and the stars are obscured completely hidden in the haze.  It's a bit breezy with winds out of the W-SW at 10-14mph.  It feels damp with moisture swirling in the air although rain won't be checking in until the overnight tonight.  Today will be mostly cloudy though with temps near 50°.  We could see peeks of sun in the afternoon.  S-SW breezes will be wifting (wafting) over the island today at 15-25mph.  Tonight... cloudy and breezy with Southerly winds at 20-30mph +gusting.  Temps will be staying in the 40s (mid-40s).  Expect rain to commence after midnight.  Tomorrow... a nasty raw day with rain and wind with temps back up in the 50s in the early part of the day then getting cold again in the evening (low 30s) as the rains head out.  The weekend's looking dry.  Saturday seems to be the colder (barely in the 30s) and sunnier of the two days with partly sunny / partly cloudy skies for both days.

Much Warmer Than Yesterday

Mornin'!  It's 16° in Wildwood NJ.  The 1° windchill is due to the N-NW winds at 16-22mph.  The black sky is clear, starlit and moonlit.  It's uncomfortably cold outside and only makes me think of Spring... 67 days away.  And, better yet summer... 148 days away!  It'll be a sunny, cold day but warmer than the last few days as temps may tap 30° today.  Ms Sun will help warm things up though.  Those relentless, winter winds will subside just a bit out of the N-NW at 10-15mph but the wind chill will still be there.  Tonight... clouds roll in with temps in the upper 20s and breezes out of the South at 15-18mph.  Tomorrow... cloudy but temps will be in the upper 30s!  Whew, that's a relief!

Full Moon And Dr. Martin Luther King Day

Mornin'!  It's 14° in Wildwood NJ.  Wind chill of -2° with NW winds at 30-40mph.  We're having quite a show of what wind feels like this morning. It's painful to be outside.  Ms Sun's up and battling through fast-moving cloud cover and trying to shine and warm us. It'll be no warmer than 20° today with partly cloudy skies and winds out of the NW at 25-35mph +gusting.  Windchill today: 1°.  Tonight... clear, 20° with 4° windchill and NW winds at 20-25mph.  Tomorrow... sunny as the winds will be checked out but it'll still be cold at 20°.

Harper and The Full Blood Moon Has Arrived

Mornin'!  It's 49° in Wildwood NJ.  It's raining at a pretty good clip.  Winds are nothing compared to what's ahead for today and tomorrow... currently out of the S-SW at 7-12mph.  That ol' storm "Harper" is upon us as the coast is experiencing rain (100% chance and heavy at times) at least until this afternoon with winds out of the NW at 25-35mph +gusting up to and over 50mph.  We missed the bullet on this one as it'll be a relatively short rain event here on the island.  Rainfall may reach an inch or more and it looks like the rains will be checking out by early afternoon.  Temps will be mild... in the low 50s.  Tonight... lots of cloud cover as temps drop down until they get into the mid-teens while NW winds continue to sustain 25-35mph with over 50mph gusts.  We're talking -3° windchill!!!  Tomorrow... Ms Sun returns but she's got her work cut out for her as these intense winds and freezing cold temps have no plans on going anywhere.  It's going to be our first true taste of that boreal Winter Tundra!  Time to dig out the thermal underwear!  Oh... don't forget about that Full Moon as it's tonight around midnight and the high tides today and tonight will certainly be affected.  Be aware of tidal flooding as you traverse the island today as some streets known for always flooding will probably be impassable (like the streets at the foot of the Redding bridge).

Partial eclipse begins: 11:34p.m.
Total Lunar eclipse begins: 12:41a.m.
Greatest eclipse: 1:12a.m. ending at 2:51a.m.

Harper's Heading East

Mornin'!  It's 36° in Wildwood NJ.  We're under cloud cover as Ms Sun's rising while I blog.  If she succeeds, we're going to see some spectacular morning colors in those clouds.  We're to expect cloud cover this morning leading to rain showers this afternoon.  Winds are currently light out of the E-NE at 3-5mph.  The pooches are in town as the Boardwalk Kennel Club dog show is this weekend!  Today's forecast is 40% chance of rain showers this afternoon with temps in the low 40s and Easterly winds at 10-20mph. Tonight... cloudy with 90% chance of rain, temps in the upper 30s / low 40s with S-SE winds at 15-25mph.  Tomorrow... temps in the upper 40s / low 50s with rain and wind (25-35mph) as this storm Harper heads Northeast throwing the entire eastern seaboard moisture in some form. It appears that parts of the interior Northeast including the Pocono Mountains and areas west and north of us will be getting the brunt of this storm and heavy snowfall.  Some places (not us thankfully) will get an ice storm.  We're in the path of wind-driven rains tonight and most of the day tomorrow but those higher than usual temps won't allow any snowfall along the coast this time.  The Full Moon begins late tomorrow into Monday as storm and tidal flooding will be our concern.  Keep an eye on those high tides!

Mix of Rain and Sunshine Today

Mornin'!  It's 35° in Wildwood NJ.  It's raining lightly with breezes out of the E-NE at 5-8mph.  Rain is likely mainly before 11a.m. today.  Ms Sun will eventually make her grand entrance today.  It'll gradually become cloudy as the rain checks out, then it becomes mostly sunny with a high near 42°.  These early morning E-NE breezes will switch to the South at 6-10mph then West by later this afternoon.  Tonight...some cloud cover with winds out of the NW at 5-10mph and a low of 33°.  The weekend looks gray with 50% chance of rain for tomorrow and 90% chance on Sunday.  So far these 40 something temps are going to keep the white stuff at bay this weekend.  The Full Moon is Sunday into Monday so higher tides + lots of rainfall = tidal flooding.

Sunny Start / Cloudy Finish

Mornin'!  It's 32° in Wildwood NJ.  It's clear and sunny with light breezes out of the N-NE at 4-6mph.  We still have snow on some surfaces out there as the meltdown continues.  It'll probably happen today as temps will hover around the mid-30s while clouds filter in making it a mostly cloudy day.  Winds will be out of the E-NE at 5-10mph.  Tonight... cloudy with a 70% chance of precipitation (showers) late with temps around 35° and winds out of the SE at 5-10mph.  I'm sure rain will wash away any leftover white stuff.  Tomorrow... we'll probably wake to rain as it becomes mostly sunny and warmer (mid-40s).  It now looks like both Saturday and Sunday could be washouts with this fairly intense weekend storm.  Oh, the dogs are headed to the Shore this weekend too by the way as it's the Boardwalk Kennel Club Dog Show (Wildwood Convention Center).  Keep the towels and grooming tools nearby as we're to expect lots of rainfall as well as very high tides and tidal flooding.  So far, the temps appear to be in the mid-40s so I'm thinking that for now, snow isn't coming to the island this round but appears it is North and West of us.  It'll all depend on those temperatures.

Not Too Shabby

Mornin'!  Happy Hump Day!  It's 32° in Wildwood NJ.  There's thick cloud cover.  No breezes to note as it's still and quiet (I can hear the ocean waves though from 6+ blocks away thanks to that insulating cloud cover).  There's still leftover weekend snow lying around town but with that said... everything's got a layer of white morning frost on it.  It's really cold and crispy out there.  No sun yet, but it's supposed to be partly cloudy as Ms Sun has a part in today's weather.  Expect partly sunny / partly cloudy skies.  Temps will just about tap 40° (not too shabby).  Winds will commence out of the West at 10-15mph.  Tonight... mostly clear with temps in the low 30s and NW winds at 10-15mph.  Tomorrow... about the same as rain clouds enter the scene late at night.  The weekend's looking like one of those 50-50 ones with rain on Sunday.  All the Philly news-folk are reporting that a major snowstorm is headed this way on Sunday but so far that's not the case for Wildwood.  All local reports are saying that it's looking like a "rain" event for us due to the 50° temps. However... the Full Moon is coming next weekend (Sunday into Monday) and flooding due to all that extra water would be more of our focus and concern.

Plenty of Sunshine on Tap

Mornin'!  It's 28° in Wildwood NJ.  We're under starlit and moonlit skies with breezes out of the NW at 4-6mph giving us a windchill of 22°.  Ms Sun's on her way as the sky is brightening and waking readying for her passing over the horizon.  Sunrise is in about a half an hour.  It'll be a crisp, cold, and sunny day with plentiful sunshine and temps in the upper 30s possibly tapping the 40s with winds out of the NW at 10-15mph.  It'll probably feel like 31° with the windchill.  I suspect we'll have more meltdown as there's still plenty of snow around the island.  Tonight...clear and crisp as temps drop back into the upper 20s / low 30s with West winds at 7-9mph.  Tomorrow... more of the same as this weather will repeat for humpday.  There is rain in this week's forecast and it looks like Friday's the day.  So far... no more snow.

Snow Covered Monday Chills and Thrills

Mornin'!  It's 28° in Wildwood NJ.  We've got breezes out of the NW at 10-12mph +gusts making a 20° windchill.  We've got clouds.  Nothing on Ms Sun yet but she's supposed to take over the sky and make it a sunny day.  Temps will be in the low 30s with an upper 20° windchill as those N-NW winds will be relatively light at 6-11mph.  Tonight...clear, 31° and breezes out of the NW at 4-6mph making it feel like 24°.  Tomorrow... just about the same as today but a bit warmer and even warmer on Wednesday.  I think by then we should see this leftover snow on the island ceased to exist as Ms Sun creates the ol' meltdown.

Snowy Sunday - First Snowfall of 2019

Mornin'!  It's 30° in Wildwood NJ.  Windchill... 20°.  It's snowing!  It's been snowing since last night and I'd say we've got about 3" out there.  It's breezy... NE at 15-20mph.  I didn't venture out onto the porch since I preferred my slippers instead of boots this morning.  The pooch didn't get out of bed yet either so a path for him hasn't been plowed with my awaiting shovel.  One thing's for sure... it's winter and Christmasy out there.  It'll be gray all day with snowfall throughout the day into early tomorrow.  We should be getting at least another few inches.  Temps will be around 35° (windchill... 24°), winds out of the NE at 25-35mph.  Tonight...still snowing (probably down to snow showers).  Temps will be around 35° with N-NE winds at 20-30mph making a 24° windchill.  After walking up to the polar plunge yesterday, hubby and I walked over to the local supermarket (Acme) and got our bread and milk so it'll be a hunker down day for us!  Not to mention hubby decided to make his delicious New England Clam Chowder and buffalo wings for dinner and the game.  Go Birds!

Polar Plunge Day in Wildwood

Mornin'!  Sunset's back in the 5:00 o'clock hour beginning today!  It's 25° in Wildwood NJ.  We're under partially cloudy skies.  Part of the horizon is obscured while other sections (mostly north) is clear and prepped for Ms Sun's arrival in about a ½ hour.  One thing's for sure... these clouds will make for a beautiful sunrise; they always do.  We'll start out the day with some sun and some clouds as today becomes a cloudy one with temps in the mid-upper 30s.  No breezes worth mentioning as finally, those annoying relentless winds will give us a reprieve staying calmer.  They'll be out of the NE at 4-8mph.   Tonight... cloudy with snowfall beginning later in the evening (80% chance) as temps will be around the mid-20° mark.  Winds will be out of the NE at 4-8mph.  Tomorrow... a snow day with 80% chance of snow and/or rain mixed with snow right and windy right into the evening.  Temps will be in the mid-upper 30s with those ruthless winds back in the mix... NE at 20-30mph.  We're looking at the possibility of 3-5" of the white stuff this weekend. Go dig out the shovels and maybe even the "push-broom" as this snowfall sounds like a dry, light snow. Today's Polar Plunge's starter pistol goes off at 1:00p.m. on that cloudy, cold beach at the Convention Center (at Burk Avenue and the beach).  Good luck plungers!

Sunny Friday - Looks Like Snow's Coming!

Mornin'!  It's 29° in Wildwood NJ.  It's an icy cold one this winter morning!  It's still dark and starlit out there with the wicked winds wifting (wafting) over the island out of the NW at 20-25mph +gusting.  Wind chill is 19°.  It hurts to be outside this January morn. Cover up those exposed parts!  We're up for abundant sunshine today though.  Ms Sun's on her way as I type as she'll begin peeking over the horizon any time now and begin trying to warm us.  Today's temps will be in the mid-upper 30s with winds out of the NW at 20-25mph giving us that ol' windchill (low-mid 20s).  Tonight...clear with temps in the mid-upper 20s and finally much lighter winds out of the N-NW at 7-9mph.  Now as for this Storm headed this way tomorrow night... (basically a Nor'easter) the last reports I've checked are saying that we're going to be cloudy tomorrow with snow showers beginning tomorrow night right into the first half of Sunday with an accumulation of 1-3" (70-100% chance).  I'm hearing that if we do get this first snowfall of the year this upcoming weekend,  it'll be a light, fluffy snow and easy to push or sweep away.  Whew... what a relief!  That's sarcasm by the way as I'm growing old, weary and tired of the snow removal routines (I can still sweep though thankfully).  As for tomorrow and those folks plunging into the 45° ocean... the temp will be 37° with light variable winds out of the N-NE at 2-4mph.  Hey... what more could you ask for as the ocean water will feel warmer than the air temp?!

Partly Sunny Thursday

Mornin'!  It's 33° in Wildwood NJ.  It's mostly sunny (some swift moving cumulous clouds in the mix which you can spot on the live webcams) and windy (NW 20-30 +gusting).  It'll be windy today with a mix of clouds and sun.  Temps will hover around 39°.  Winds will be out of the NW at 25-35mph + gusting making a wind chill of 28°.  Tonight... 33° with a wind chill of 21° and clear skies.  Tomorrow... sunny and a tad calmer in the wind department.  Saturday... in the 30s, cloudy and hardly a breeze (thankfully as the polar plungers run into the ocean).  Late overnight Saturday into Sunday... the possibility of snowfall (could be snow showers, a dusting or a couple of inches) as there's a snowstorm heading in this direction.  I'll be keeping a close watch of the developments of this storm moving toward the coast.

Mornin'!  I'm back... was a bit laid up yesterday with a terrific head cold and just nursed it by staying in bed the entire day.  I'm thinking I've gained the lead on beating out this annoying congestion.  It's 43° in Wildwood NJ.  It's clear with Ms Sun ready to rise and shine in about a half an hour.  There's a breeze out of the N-NW at 10-15mph which will ramp up big time today.  Expect a mix of clouds and sun with temps around where they are now and breezes out of the W-NW at 20-30mph +gusting (occasionally over 40mph).  You know that there will be a wind chill with those bad boys (it'll feel like 34°).  Tonight... partly cloudy,  a low of 32° and those W-NW gusty winds gusting over 40mph.  Wind chills will be in the 20s.  Tomorrow... much like today but lower temps and even colder wind chills.  I'm keeping an eye on Saturday's weather as it's the Wildwood Polar Bear Plunge.  The crazy folk run into the ocean to raise funds for the Special Olympics of NJ.  It's amazing to watch as you're bundled up while freezing on the beach waiting for the starter pistol to sound as the exposed (mostly scantily clad) bodies run by you heading for the very cold drink.  Anyway... it'll be cloudy and a cold low-mid 30° with a wind chill of 28° around plunge time...1:00p.m.

Sunny Morning / Cloudy Afternoon

Mornin'!  It's 31° in Wildwood NJ.  Ms Sun's up and shining brightly.  Breezes are light out of the NE at 3-4mph.  There's a layer of frost on everything but the meltdown is happening as I type.   It's feeling wintry out there though especially in the shade.  It'll be a sunny morning with the sky turning blanched as clouds filter in by mid-day with temps just about tapping 40°.  That light breeze will shift to a North Wind at 8-13mph becoming East by later this afternoon bringing cloud cover with it.  Tonight...cloudy with temps holding at around 40° with breezes shifting from the S-SE at 9-12mph.  There's a chance of rain on the overnight as we could possibly (40% chance) wake to rain tomorrow.

The Twelfth Night

Mornin'!  It's 45° in Wildwood NJ.  It's the final day of the Christmas season.  It's time to take the decorations down!  It's also known as the Twelfth Night (Shakespeare's close of the Christmas season) or Three Kings Day (Spain's version) or the Epiphany (Little Christmas or Christ's Baptism) or the beginning of Carnival Season (Mardi Gras).  As we celebrate the end (or beginning) of the holidays, the morning sky is clear as Ms Sun just rose and is beginning to paint the island those lovely pastel shades of sunrise.  She'll be warming us today. The breezes are light out of the NW at 7-10mph.  It'll be a mostly sunny day (some clouds in the mix) as temps stay around where they are now... mid-upper 40s.  Winds will increase a bit out of the W-NW at 15-20mph.  Tonight...clear with temps in the upper 30s and winds out of the NW at 12-14mph.  Tomorrow... sunny and colder (mid-30s with low 20's windchill).  The New Moon was yesterday and the tides will be a bit on the higher side.

Gray Saturday

Mornin'!  It's 47° in Wildwood NJ.  The island's got some heavy clouds and foggy conditions with a light dose of rain coming down.  It's more like a thick misty rain.  No breezes to note.  It's raw and damp out there though however you look at it.  Expect considerable cloudiness all throughout today with 70% chance of rain showers.  Temps will be in the upper 40s / low 50s with West winds switching to NW by the afternoon at 15-25mph.  Higher wind gusts are possible.  It doesn't seem like we'll see intense rainfall... just on and off showers.  Tonight... mostly cloudy, gradually becoming clear and low around 40°.  NW winds will still be checked in tonight at 15-18mph with gusting up to 25-30mph.  Tomorrow... sunny, breezy and high near 50°

What A Difference A Year Makes

Mornin'!  It's 35° in Wildwood NJ.  We're under cloudy skies with no breezes to note.  It's feeling crisp out there as everything's got a layer of white frost on it.  Everything will melt away as although it'll be a mostly cloudy day, expect a few peeks of morning sun (remains to be seen). Ms Sun's trying to peek in as I type.  Breezes will begin a bit later out of the S-SW at 8-11mph.  Temps will climb into the mid-upper 40s.  Tonight... the clouds will bring early evening rain showers which will stay checked in for the overnight and tomorrow with E-SE breezes at 8-10mph and temps in the low-mid 40s.  Tomorrow is the New Moon so tides will be higher than usual.  Don't drive through tide waters if you can avoid it as we may see areas of tidal flooding along with all the rainfall.
This day last year, we were having the first (and only) significant snowfall of the year and according to my records received the most accumulation in our area... 17" but in reality much more thanks to those relentless winds and wind-driven drifts.  We were in the deep freeze and frozen tundra with windchills of -1°.  Much gratefulness for the mild, cloudy day we're about to have along with a rainy day tomorrow.  Makes a perfect setting to pack away the Christmas decorations as well as enjoy some of hubby's delicious homemade New England clam chowder (The Lobster House is having their sale on fresh clams this weekend beginning today)!

Mostly Cloudy Thursday

Mornin'!  It's 45° in Wildwood NJ.  It's cloudy and damp outside.  Everything's wet from the overnight showers.  No breezes to note.  Expect cloudy skies with peeks of sunshine later this morning / early afternoon. Temps will just about tap 50°.  Winds will begin to ramp up by early afternoon out of the NW at 15-25mph.  Tonight... partly cloudy with temps dropping into the low 40s and Westerly winds at 5-10mph. Tomorrow... a little more sunshine, with temps in the upper 40s and less wind.  We should begin to see showers by tomorrow evening. The weekend's 50-50 with Saturday looking rainy and Sunday looking sunny.

First of the Year Hump Day Mix

Mornin'!  It's 43° in Wildwood NJ. What a difference a day makes!  Temps are much lower than yesterday morning.  It's hazy (clouds in the morning mix) with not much in the line of breezes (E-SE 2-4mph).  This morning we'll have a mix of clouds and sun that will give way to a cloudy day.  The temps will stay where they are now with E-NE winds coming in at 5-10mph.  Tonight... showers are beginning late this evening with a steady rain overnight.  Temps will be in the low 40s with S-SE breezes at 5-10mph.  Tomorrow... waking to rain and winds.

Welcome 2019!

Mornin'!  Happy New Year!  It's 61° in Wildwood NJ.  That's no typo either!  It's cloudy and calm with winds out of the North at 3-5mph.  When stepping outside, the senses surely take in a lot of what's going on... jolting unseasonable warmish temps, no breezes just the fragrance of the briny salt air and the sounds of the ocean's waves crashing from the other side of the island (6+ blocks away) due to all the insulating thick cloud cover.  It'll gradually become partly sunny as the temps fall down to more seasonable numbers... 50° by late afternoon / early evening.  The winds will increase later this morning as today will be blustery... W-NW winds will kick in at 20-25mph +gusting.  Tonight... mostly clear with temps in the mid-upper 30s and NW winds at 13-16mph.  Tomorrow...clouds and sun, colder temps and much fewer winds.
