Until Next Year August...

Mornin'!  It's 75° in Wildwood NJ.  Humidity's 95% with a 74° dew point.  We had more of those big thunder boomers last night with plenty of watering from the rainfall.  The air is heavy with humidity.  Not much in breezes out of the W-NW at 2-4mph.  We're going to get up into the mid-upper 80s with W-NW winds at 5-10mph.  This last day of August will start out with a mix of clouds and sun followed by cloudy skies by this afternoon.  There's a 20% chance of a stray shower and/or thunderstorm as well.  Tonight... still cloudy with 30% chance of an isolated thunderstorm.  Temps will drop down into the low-70s with light and variable winds.  Tomorrow... 50-60% chance of scattered rain showers and thunderstorms (some could produce heavy rains with the remnants of Ida) , high around 80° and E-SE winds at 10-20mph.  Thursday... 80% chance of rain.  Friday's looking fine... plenty of sunshine and low humidity.  It could be on the breezy side.  So, this is it August... according to my daily weather reports, you gave us more than half of your month (18 days) of beautiful weather.  Until next year... see you on the other side!

Partly Sunny Monday

Mornin'! It's 74° in Wildwood NJ.  Humidity's at 99% with a dew point of 73°.  Breezes are out of the NW at 2-4mph.  Patchy fog has begun to roll over the island from the mainland as Ms Sun's just below the horizon.  She's due up in about a half hour.  It looks like we're going to have a mix of clouds and sunshine today with a 25% possibility of a stray shower and/or thunderstorm.  For the most part, it'll be a sunny day with temps in the mid-upper 80s and NW winds (becoming South by this afternoon) at 5-10mph.   Tonight... partly cloudy, 25% chance of a stray shower or thunderstorm with temps in the mid-70s and W-SW winds at 5-10mph.  Tomorrow... partly sunny early with scattered rains showers or thunderstorms developing in the afternoon (40% chance) with temps in the mid-80s. Wednesday, Thursday and the first half of Friday looks like we'll be wet from the remnants of Hurricane Ida.  She has every intention of traveling up the eastern seaboard and along our Coast this week.  She's had (and still is) a monumental impact on our Gulf Coast as she's creating havoc on everything in her path by way of winds and rains. The entire City of New Orleans is without power as I type.  Big sad sigh here.

Partly Sunny Sunday

Mornin'!  It's 72° in Wildwood NJ.  Humidity's 95% with a dew point of 71°.  Breezes are out of the N-NE at 10-18mph.  We're cloud covered with Ms Sun doing all she can to shine through the hazy sky.  At the moment, there's a 60% chance of rain showers and/or thunderstorms this morning.  The ominous look to the day may brighten by the early afternoon as this thick cloud cover will eventually give way to partly sunny skies.  Temps will get up to the low-mid 80s.  E-NE winds will continue to waft (wift) over the island at 10-15mph.  Tonight... partly cloudy skies, 15% chance of a stray shower,  temps down into the low-70s with SE breezes at 5-10mph.  Tomorrow... mostly sunny during the morning with scattered showers a possibility (50% chance) developing in the afternoon.  Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday all have varying degrees of rain in their forecasts.  And, of course there's the new hurricane out there... "Ida" that is making landfall in southern Louisiana today. This is the same day (8/29) that hurricane Katrina hit the coast of Louisianna in 2005.  Life-threatening storm surge, potentially catastrophic wind damage and flooding rainfall is all expected to impact the Gulf Coast region beginning today into tomorrow.  Very scary stuff on this Katrina anniversary.  Hopefully all our prayers are heard for those being impacted by this scary Storm.

Last Weekend of August and Unsettled

Mornin'!  It's 80° in Wildwood NJ.  Humidity's 86% with a dew point of 74°.  Breezes (if you want to call them that) are out of the N-NE at 3-5mph.  It's a hazy, warm and humid start to the day as our Saturday Farmer's Market is up and running this morning.  We had some major thunder boomers with an excellent watering last night.  Thankfully watering the garden isn't on my morning to-do list.  I have a house full of company (including my sweet grand kids) and there's chatter and laughter filling my home at this very moment.  Many blessings around me!   Here's the weather... it'll be partly cloudy today with 60% chance of afternoon rain and/or thunderstorms.  Temps will stay where they are now... 80ish with humidity getting into the mid-90s.   E-NE winds at 10-15mph are on tap.  Tonight... scattered rain and thunderstorms (50% chance) with variable clouds overnight including more showers.  Temps will drop tonight into the low-70s with E-NE winds at 5-10mph.  Tomorrow... 40% chance of isolated rain showers and/or thunderstorms in the morning with skies turning cloudy as temps hit 80° with a E-NE at 10-15mph breeze.

Another Hot One - TGIF!

Mornin'!  It's 78° in Wildwood NJ.  Humidity's 99% with a dew point of 76°.  It's sunny (believe it or not with that humidity level)!  Ms Sun's shining through the humid hazy.  It'll be another hazy, hot and humid day with partly sunny conditions, temps around 90° and Southerly breezes at 5-10mph.  Tonight... clouds filter in as temps drop.  There's a 50-60% chance of rain with temps in the  mid-70s and W-SW breezes at 5-10mph.  Tomorrow... rain showers in the morning with scattered rain showers and/or thunderstorms in the afternoon (60% chance), high around 80° with E-NE breezes at 10-15mph.  Sunday... gray and wet to kick off the day with partly sunny conditions by the afternoon and temps in the low-80s.

And, it wouldn't be Friday without my Friday Beach Etiquette Tips ...

~Things I pack for the beach... bottled water, a spray bottle of water for you never know what, a hat, footwear (it's amazing how many folk don't wear something on their feet when trekking the extremely hot, burning sand and even worse forget to put footwear on their children), towel, sunblock, insect repellent (for the West Wind Biting Flies), first aid kit (I include a tiny bottle of vinegar for jelly fish stings), some shade (umbrella or sand chair with lid/canopy), something to read, sanitizing wipes, a small trash bag to collect any trash you may accumulate, and I always bring my crocheting as I love to crochet on the beach.  Some of my best baby blankets are "salty".
~When going to the beach and deciding where to set camp, kindly give those around you a little extra space as courtesy is key.  Careful not to plop down only inches from someone else's camp.  This one's amazing to me as I see "close proximity plopping" time and time again.  Most beaches (with the exception of North Wildwood) are huge yet folks set up camp only inches from those already there enjoying their quiet beach day.  The fact is, their encampment could have been literally 30 feet away allowing plenty of room between others blankets, chairs and umbrellas, yet it's only inches away!  It happens more often than not.  I have yet to figure it out.  Human connection needed perhaps?  Whatever, it's a very strange phenomenon.
~Setting up your umbrella... be aware of wind direction and wind speed.  If it's windy, take those extra steps to secure your umbrella (sand screws or grabbers) or bungee cord (you can secure your umbrella to your beach cart or cooler etc).  It's common to see how unsecured umbrellas can be as the wind launches them directly toward unknowing folks about to be impaled.  And, remember to open your umbrella into the wind otherwise, those gusts will be blowing your umbrella inside out making it almost impossible to control.
~Know the time of your tides.  Always check with the lifeguard if unsure.  If the tide is at its highest, you can sit as close to the surf as you want as the tide will be taking the entire day to slip into low tide and the beach grows bigger and bigger.  It takes 6 hours for the tide to go from High to Low.
~Teach children beach etiquette.  Throwing sand is a no-no.  Teach them not to run or chase one another around someone laying on their blanket as the kicked up or thrown sand from the winds scatter over the person lying there peacefully.  I've had families whose little toddlers take off running from their campsite right to mine and onto my blanket before any adult could grab them.  I guess it's cute.  My advice to parents of young toddlers (1-2 year olds)... bring a "pack-n-play" for them as I can assure you that your day will be much more enjoyable with those babes confined.
~Remember when shaking out towels or blankets, be conscious of the wind direction and shake away from those in close proximity of your shaken sands.
~There is "no smoking" on the beach.  That includes pipes, vapes, cigars and marijuana.  Wildwood Crest has a designated smoking area for cigarette smoking.  There's "no smoking" of any kind on the boardwalk too.  As New Jersey has recently legalized Marijuana, you cannot smoke it in these small coastal towns as they've all outlawed it including Wildwood.  It's allowed on private property.
~Dogs are allowed on Wildwood and Wildwood Crest beaches from Oct-May.  Dogs are not allowed on the boardwalk at any time.  There are a couple of great beach dog-parks.  One at 3000 Glenwood Ave. at the beach and one in North Wildwood at 24th and the beach.  NW requires a permit and also posts that dogs are not allowed on the beach when lifeguards are present (9:30-5:30).  Dog's must be on a leash at all times when not in the dog parks.
~Never leave trash on the beach.  Better yet, pick up any you see whether it's yours or not.  There are many, many trash and recycle containers on the beach and sidewalks might as well use them.
~If into music, remember your headphones.  Believe it or not, no one really wants to hear your blasting music drowning out the soothing sounds of the surf.  And, direct that (not too loud) speaker towards you, not to the other folks on the beach.
~Feeding seagulls is a big no-no.  Eat and snack smartly.  Using hands up or out when holding a sandwich to express oneself is a magnet for swooping gulls.  Drop just one potato chip and you'll create seagull havoc.  Eat under your umbrella or chair canopy.  Seagulls are vultures and are endlessly eyeing beach goers eating habits.  They're relentless in trying to find the opportune moment to swoop down and pluck your lunch right out of your hand or mouth (seen it happen many times).  By the way, Seagulls know "chip bags" and if you have an unsupervised blanket or bag with chip bags exposed, they will help themselves to that bag and share their newly acquired beach find with their gull family and friends right there on your beach blanket and surrounding area.
~Playing ball, Frisbee, horseshoes, corn hole, kite-flying, ladder toss, spike ball, paddle ball, volley ball, kan-jam, beach darts, etc., is a no-no where everyone's camped beaching.  The dune or emptier side of the beach is designated for those active beach games.  The beach patrol will probably stop you anyway. But, be mindful of those around you who are not in the game.
~Observe all posted warnings... beach closures, no alcohol or marijuana, rip currents, surfing only etc.  If in doubt, check with the lifeguards.
~And lastly, be courteous.  Courtesy is key.  Be kind and considerate of everyone enjoying this beautiful moment along with you.  Happy Beaching!

Fog To Kick Off Today With Sunshine Due In

Today's Webcam Shot

Same View from a Webcam Shot in July
Mornin'!  It's 76° in Wildwood NJ.  Humidity's 96% with a dew point of 74°.  No breezes to speak of... SW 2-4mph.  And, we've got fog!  We're in the soup at the moment.  It's denser along the beach but as I look down the street, I can barely see the next block.  The fog will lift as Ms Sun begins to burn off these water droplets hovering over the island!  Temps will get up into the mid-upper 80s (yesterday it reached 92° without a lovely seabreeze on that scorching beach).  It was a hot one!  We'll have a bit of cloud cover today with southerly breezes at 5-10mph.  But, it'll still be another hot one.  Pack water and shade (umbrella, chair w/canopy, big straw hat etc).   Tonight... some passing clouds, low around 75° and S-SW winds at 5-10mph.  Tomorrow... partly sunny with a 25% chance of a stray shower and/or thunderstorm.  The weekend's looking "iffy" now with a chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms on the weather menu for both days... Saturday: 40% and Sunday: 30%.  It's one of the those "keep your eyes on the sky" weekends!

Hazy, Hot and Humid Hump Day

Thomas (my grandson who's now 8) enjoying a beach day
Mornin'!  It's 76° in Wildwood NJ.  Ms Sun's up and shining brightly.  Breezes are barely there out of the N-NW at 2-3mph.  And, humidity's still up at 95% with a dew point of 73°.  It's another warm one.  It'll be another hot, summer day down the Shore with sunny skies, temps near 90° and S-SE breezes at 5-10mph.  Tonight... a few passing clouds, temps back where they are now (low-mid 70s) and S-SW breezes at 5-10mph.  Tomorrow... partly sunny, mid-80s and Southerly breezes at 5-10mph.  We're going to continue to have a nice stretch of sunny, warm weather at least up until Sunday.  Enjoy!

Hot Summer Day On Tap

Mornin'!  It's 76° in Wildwood NJ.  Humidity's 95% with a dew point of 73°.  It's a warm and very muggy morning.  We've got a sunrise on its way with some fantastic pastel colors painting the horizon.  Ms Sun is on her way any moment now.  Breezes are out of the NW at 2-4mph.  It feels like a hot one is on tap with this warm, morning stillness; the fragrance of the heavy sea air and the lack of a nice sea breeze.   It's going to be a hot one today with abundant sunshine, temps tapping 90° and West winds at 5-10mph (pack the insect repellent).  Tonight... clear skies, low-mid 70s and W-SW winds at 5-10mph.  Tomorrow... more of the same but with Southerly (much cooler "off the ocean") breezes.

Gray Start with Sunny Skies Ahead

Mornin'!  It's 75° in Wildwood NJ.  It's raining lightly with clouds surrounding the island and no sunshine to speak of.  Humidity's 90% with a dew point of 72°.  Breezes are very light out of the West at 6-8mph.  There's a 30% chance of rain mainly before 9am.  Then, it'll become a partly sunny / partly cloudy day with a high near 85° and SW winds around 10-15mph.  Tonight... mostly clear, low of 74° and West winds at 5-10mph.  Tomorrow... sunny and warm with temps in the upper 80s.  Wednesday... sunny and warm.  Once these morning showers are over, I think the dry out will begin taking place as we're still pretty soggy here in Wildwood.  It's nothing like parts of northern New Jersey and New York where Henri dropped 6-8" of rain as of late yesterday.  No doubt, we missed the bullet on that tropical storm.  And, I'm happy to report that it looks like after today, we'll be rain-free with plenty of blue skies for the remainder of this week!  Good for you if this coming week was your vacation week!

Henri's Scraping Right By Us!

"Henry" - My Sister's pet turtle who we lost this year
Mornin'!  It's 73° in Wildwood NJ with Ms Sun shining brightly in the bright blue sky!  Breezes are out of the NW at 2-4mph.  I almost feel like Ms Sun has been tucked away for quite awhile but it's only been 3 days.  We had plenty of rain again overnight and we're over-watered and extremely soggy with humidity feeling tropical and much like Key West.  Which isn't a bad thing in my opinion!  Humidity's 90% with a dew point of 72°.  There's a Category I hurricane named "Henri" scraping right by us (North of us) ad touching down on the east coast at the Long Island and southern New England coasts.  Areas of Long Island NY, Montauk Point, and New Haven Conn to west of Westport Mass and Block Island will be taking the brunt of this badboy.  Hurricane and Tropical Storm warnings have been issued for those areas.  They will be getting serious winds and storm surge.  We're about 4½ hours south of this area and Henri's effects on Wildwood will be the possibility of rain (40% chance) possibly producing heavy rain as well as dangerous rip currents along our coast.  For the most part, it'll be a sunny day with some cloud cover and temps in the mid-80s and West winds at 10-15mph.  Tonight... 30% chance of rain with temps around where they are now (low-mid 70s) and SW winds at 5-10mph.  Tomorrow... mostly sunny with a 30% chance of rain in the early morning.  It's the Full Moon today and any high tides will without a doubt create street flooding with all this saturation and possible upcoming rainfall.  Be aware of the island's low-lying areas to avoid damage to your vehicle.

Not So Sunny Saturday

Mornin'!  It's 74° in Wildwood NJ.  It's cloudy and saturated after getting watered overnight again.  Humidity's 94% with a dew point of 73°.  Breezes are barely there out of the E-NE at 4-6mph.  Expect an unsettled, gray day with clouds in the morning, then a 70% chance of rain and/or thunderstorms developing this afternoon.  Temps will just about tap 80° with E-NE winds at 5-10mph.  Tonight... cloudy with scattered showers and/or thunderstorms giving way to a steady rain overnight (90% chance).  Temps drop back to the low-70s with N-NE winds at 10-15mph.  Tomorrow... rain early with an occasional peek of sunshine later in the day.  There's a 50% chance of some heavy rainfall though.  Temps will be in the low-80s with W-NW winds at 10-20mph.  Tomorrow night... 25% chance of rain showers, low 70s and W-SW winds at 5-10mph.  Oh... keep in mind that ol' Full Moon is this weekend (tomorrow) and it's bringing much higher than normal tides.  I'd have my wellies packed with that rain parka this weekend; especially if heading to the "Barefoot County Music Festival".  Oh, don't forget about today's Farmer's Market and Craft Fair that's happening right now!

Not Even Close To A Perfect Weather Weekend

Mornin'!  It's 76° in Wildwood NJ.  Humidity's 96% with a dew point of 73° and breezes out of the East at 3-5mph.  Sorry to be the bearer of some not-so-great weather on this very big weekend in Wildwood.  The "Barefoot Country Music Festival" is underway and facing some questionable weather this weekend. We've got rain coming down at a good clip along with some dramatic thunder clapping over us along with lightning sparking all around us!  All this stormy watering will give way to cloudy skies by this afternoon with 25% chance of rain showers.  I'm not sure how much sunshine we'll see but I'm sure there will a peek or two. Today's temps will be in the upper 70s with N-NE winds at 5-10mph.  Tonight... cloudy with rain overnight (60% chance).  Temps will drop down into the low-70s with light and variable winds.  Tomorrow... rain showers and/or thunderstorms in the morning (60% chance) with more scattered showers and/or thunderstorms in the afternoon (60% chance).  Temps will barely tap 80° with  E-NE winds at 5-10mph.  Sunday... cloudy with 50% chance of showers and a high of 80° and W-NW winds at 5-10mph.  Sunday's the Full Moon and it's already pulling the Tides making them higher than normal.  With all this rain in the weekend forecast and the upcoming full moon, it's very important to keep an eye on tidal flooding including street flooding.  Watch those low-lying areas when parking that vehicle!  And, perhaps "wellies" wouldn't be a bad idea to replace those cowboy boots!

A Warm Mix Of Sun And Clouds

Mornin'!  It's 81° in Wildwood NJ.  Humidity's 87% with a dew point of 76°.  Breezes are light out of the W-SW at 6-8mph.  Ms Sun's shining through the haze.  Expect a mix of clouds and hazy sunsine today with humid temps in the mid-upper 80s and W-SW winds at 10-15mph.  Tonight... partly cloudy followed by increasing clouds with showers developing overnight (50% chance).  Temps will drop into the low-mid 70s with West winds at 5-10mph. Tomorrow... showers will kick off Friday with scattered rain showers and/or thunderstorms developing later in the day (60% chance).  Temps will be much cooler... mid-upper 70s with NE winds at 5-10mph.  A big event is happening in Wildwood this weekend.  It's the "Barefoot County Music Festival" beginning tonight and running through Sunday night.  As for the weather the next 3 days... tomorrow... 60% chance of rain, Saturday... 50% chance of rain in the day and 30% at night, Sunday and Sunday night... 30% chance of rain.  All of these rain systems could bring just an occasional sprinkle of rain, a gusty thunderstorm or nothing at all.  Lots of folks will be keeping their eyes on the skies!  I wish I could bring you a better weather report with no rain in store for this weekend as it's a big one... Fireworks, Country Music Fest, Boardwalk Craft show, Farmer's Market, smaller Concerts in both North Wildwood and Wildwood Crest and everything else in between that Wildwood has to offer.  Get out there and enjoy and just keep your eye on the sky every now and then!

Unsettled Hump day

Mornin'!  It's 76° in Widwood NJ.  Once again we're under cloud cover with Ms Sun trying her best to lighten the sky along the horizon.  According to the doppler, there are pockets of rain showers all around us but the City of Wildwood remains dry at the moment.  Breezes are light out of the SE at 6-8mph.  This morning will have mostly cloudy skies becoming partly cloudy this afternoon with peeks of sun.  Temps will get into the low-80s with S-SE winds at 10-15mph.  Tonight... 60% chance of rain and/or thunderstorms early becoming mainly cloudy into the late night / overnight.  Temps will head back down to where they are now.  Southerly breezes are on tap for tonight... 10-15mph.  Tomorrow... mix of clouds and sunshine with temps up into the mid-upper 80s and SW winds at 10-15mph.  As for "Fred"... he's tracking up the Appalchians as a tropical depression creating flooding rain and isolated tornadoes and it will impact parts of the mid-Atlantic and Northeast.  But we'll miss getting hit by him as it'll all remain west of the coast thankfully.  I guess this will be the last day of any mention of this storm "Fred" on my weather blog.  I'll continue to remember to talk and display my sweet, loving, affectionate pooch "Fred" though!  Thank goodness for photographs!

Partly Cloudy Tuesday

Mornin'!  It's 74° in Wildwood NJ.  Humidity's 93% with a dew point of 72°.  Breezes are out of the SE at 4-7mph.  We've got some cloud cover but for the most part, the sky is currently clear as Ms Sun has begun shining down and drying things out a bit.  We did have rain last evening and we're once again nicely watered.  The beach (according to the webcams this morning) appears saturated and still glistening with puddled water.  We're going to have a generally cloudy day with a stray shower and/or thunderstorm possible (20% chance).  Expect some peeks of sun as well. Temps will be in the low-80s with SE winds at 10-15mph.  Tonight... cloudy skies, temps back to where they are now (low 70s) and S-SE winds at 5-10mph.  Tomorrow... partly sunny, temps around 80° and S-SE winds at 10-20mph.  "Fred" has weakend to a tropical depression but still packing a punch with flooding rains, gusting winds and isolated tornadoes.  It's hitting my daughter's home in Georgia as I blog as is heading into the mid-atlantic and we'll definitely see remnants of Fred before he checks out of here Wednesday night into Thursday.  Since Fred is still in the weather news... here's more shots of our Freddy (7 months gone now and still sorely missed) who loved getting brushed and brought the brush to us when he felt like having his soft fur coiffed.

Partly Sunny - Partly Cloudy Monday

Mornin'!  It's 74° in Wildwood NJ.  Humidity's 93% with a dew point of 78°.  Clouds once again surround us as Ms Sun's up and trying to break on through.  Breezes are as light as can be out of the E-NE at 2-4mph.  Expect partly sunny / partly cloudy skies with a stray shower possible today (20% chance), temps in the upper 70s and East winds at 10-15mph.  Tonight... cloudy with showers after midnight (40% chance), temps where they are now (low 70s) and E-SE winds at 10-15mph.  Tomorrow... 50% chance of rain showers and/or scattered thunderstorms in the earlier part of the day, cloudy for the most part, temps tapping 80° and 20% chance of rain during the evening.  Tropical Storm "Fred" is supposed to be making landfall today in the Florida Panhandle bringing rain, gusty winds and storm surge.  Remnants of "Fred" will be spreading inland across parts of Alabama, Georgia and the Carolinas.  It's heading for us too and will probably be checking in here Thursday sometime.  I'm watching.  I'm also going to add my own "Fred Photos" on the blog this week in honor of this weather system with its sights on the mid-Atlantic region.  Not to mention the fact that our first summer without Freddy has not only been extremely quiet but still awfully sad when you least expect it.

Partly to Sunny Sunday

Mornin'!  It's 72° in Wildwood NJ.  Humidity's 84% with a dew point of 66°.  We're under cloud cover with Ms Sun beginning to peek through.  It's a bit breezy with winds out of the NE at 15-20mph.  Some amazing tropical rains overnight provided more than enough watering and yet everything's dried out.  No puddles, no damage, no aftermath after the torrents and thunder and lightning storms serenaded us throughout the night.  I couldn't rest and get into a deep sleep until around 3am.  We may see some more rain before 10am today but it'll be a day with sunshine and clouds mixed in.  It's much cooler than it's been as of late and if you're into finally opening up the windows for the salty breeze in the house, go for it.  I'm sticking with air conditioning and a closed up house at least for a little while longer.  Temps will barely tap 80° today with partly to mostly cloudy skies,  E-NE winds at 10-20mph +gusting.  Tonight... considerable cloudiness with a 25% chance of a stray shower or thunderstorm.  Temps in the low 70s with East winds at 5-10mph.  Tomorrow... mostly cloudy, peeks of sun, high of 78° and East winds at 10-15mph.  It's was 7 months ago today that Fred has left us and since Tropical Storm "Fred" has its sights on the Gulf again and planning on making landfall by tomorrow, I couldn't put any photos up on the blog other than our Fred's photos.  As for this storm, we'll probably feel its effects this Wednesday and Thursday.  Unlike last week, this week's weather here in Wildwood isn't going to be as courteous to its Visitors and Vacationers.  But, today's blog is for Fred!  We're still missing you terribly!  Summer's certainly not the same without you!

Unsettled Saturday

Today's North Wildwood's Webcam Shot
Mornin'!  It's 77° in Wildwood NJ.  It's a warm and humid start again.  Humidity's 94% with a Dew point of 74°.  Breezes are barely there out of the SW at 2-4mph.  There's blue sky around the island along with scattered clouds over both the ocean side and the marsh side.  It's all making the morning more colorful that's for sure.  Along with the gray clouds, we've got golds, corals and pinks up there.  It'll be an unsettled day with partly cloudy skies.  Scattered thunderstorms are on the weather menu with 20% chance of rain popping up today.  Temps will get into the upper 80s with SW winds at 5-10mph.  Tonight... more scattered thunderstorms (40% chance), low around 71° and N-NE winds at 10-15mph. Tomorrow... cloudy (possibly rainy morning) becoming partly cloudy in the afternoon, high of 77° and NE winds at 10-15mph.  Monday... partly to mostly cloudy, high of 77°.  In fact, all next week looks partly to mostly cloudy.  It certainly doesn't come close to this past week's weather.

Happy Friday!

Mornin'!  It's 79° in Wildwood NJ.  We've got some Key West weather this morning!!!  Humidity's 97% with a dew point of 77°.  In fact, I just checked the weather there and KW currently has humidity of 88% so we're even more humid and sticky than the Keys. I also checked Georgia (where my daughter resides) and their humidity is 91%.  We've got everyone down South beat on the humidity scale this morning.  It's thick out there!  No air moving either as those SW breezes at 2-4mph can barely be felt.  It's almost like a thick wall of humidity when walking out the door this morning.  Ms Sun's currently working her way as she's already did the rise and shine thing but is confronting the haze along the horizon. She's definitely going to make it through as it'll be another one of those Dog Days of Summer.  Expect hazy, hot and humid conditions with temps in the upper 80s / low 90s, and SW breezes at 5-10mph.  Tonight... some clouds filter in with a 25% chance of a stray shower or thunderstorm possible. Temps will be in the mid-70s with SW winds at 10-15mph.  Tomorrow... partly cloudy early, 40% chance of scattered showers and/or thunderstorms developing in the afternoon (some may contain strong gusty winds) with temps in the mid-80s and W-SW winds at 5-10mph. Sunday... waking to rain, partly to mostly cloudy with temps in the mid-upper 70s and winds out of the NE.   Just an fyi... I've visited the beach a few times this week and it's hot... very hot.  Sitting near the ocean will no doubt cool you off but will also enhance the sun's rays.  Please be safe and use sunblock, wear a hat, footwear, pack plenty of water.

It's Friday...  Fireworks on the beach tonight at 10pm and my Friday Beach Etiquette Tips ...

Another Hot Summer Day On Tap Again

Mornin'!  It's 76° in Wildwood NJ.  Humidity's 90% with a dew point of 72°.  Breezes are out of the W-SW at 2-4mph and you can barely feel a wisp of air when stepping outside this morning.  It's early with some hazy cloud cover but Ms Sun's rising along the ocean's horizon (E-NE).  With this light cloud cover this morning, I'm thinking we're going to see a beautiful sunrise as she's has already begun painting the sky with shades of gold and coral.  It's humid and muggy this morning and will be hazy, hot and humid again today much like yesterday.  Expect a mix of sun and hazy clouds with temps in the mid-upper 80s.  SW winds are on tap today at 8-12mph.  Tonight... generally clear with a few passing clouds, temps where they are now... mid-70s and SW winds at 10-15mph.  Tomorrow... sunny, warmer (upper 80s / low 90s) with SW winds at 10-15mph.  At this time, the weekend's looking "iffy" with chance of rain and/or scattered thunderstorms both days.  Saturday they may begin in the afternoon and Sunday we'll probably be waking to rain.

New Moon Sunday

Mornin'!  It's 68° in Wildwood NJ.  Humidity's 98% with a dew point of 67°.  We're under heavy cloudy cover with Ms Sun nowhere to be seen this morning.  That also goes for the Moon as it's the New Moon today meaning there's basically no moon illumination at all tonight.  It also means the tides are extremely higher and lower than normal.  So, we had a nice watering yesterday afternoon and last night.  Outside things (cushions, awnings, shrubs etc) are moisture-laden creating that muggy, very damp feel when stepping out. It'll be mostly cloudy this morning as there's a slight chance of a shower before 8am (60% chance).  Later this morning, the skies will begin to clear as Ms Sun will be peeking in off and on throughout the day.  By dinner time, it should be sunny (just in time for the sunset).  Today's temps will be in the mid-upper 70s with North winds at 10-15mph.  Tonight... some cloud cover with temps dropping to where they are now... mid-upper 60s and winds light and variable.  Tomorrow... a lovely day with sunny skies, high around 80° and Southerly breezes at 5-10mph.  At this time, the upcoming week looks like a keeper if you chose this one for your vacation.  All weather reports are forecasted that tomorrow's lovely weather will be repeated at least for the next 4 days!

National Lighthouse Day

Hereford Lighthouse - North Wildwood

Mornin'!  It's 73° in Wildwood NJ.  Humidity's 92% with a dewpoint of 69°.  Breezes are out of the S-SE at 2-4mph.  We're under partial, hazy cloud cover as Ms Sun just began to  shine through and brighten things up.  We'll probably have off and on sunshine like this all morning. By the afternoon, clouds really filter in as there's a 70% chance of rain showers on today's forecast beginning later.  Expect mostly cloudy skies and periods of rain this afternoon with temps in the upper 70s and S-SE breezes at 8-10mph.  Tonight... same; cloudy with periods of rain (100% chance), temps tapping 70° with East winds at 5-10mph. Tomorrow... waking to showers (40% chance), then partly cloudy / partly sunny conditions by the afternoon and a high of 76° with N-NE winds at 10-15mph.  Monday... a beauty with sunny skies and a high of 80°.  Lot's going on this weekend in Wildwood.  The Farmer's Market is ready to open (8am), it's National Lighthouse Day (ceremony this morning at 10am with free admission to the Hereford Lighthouse all day), there's a Latin Food and Music Festival at Fox Park, a Tattoo Convention (Convention Center), Roller Coaster Enthusiasts: Coastin' By The Ocean on all the amusement piers, a Baseball on the Beach Festival, and my Philly alma mater high schools (St. Hubert's *girls / Father Judge *boys) is having their annual Beach reunion at Seaport Pier.  Oh... I almost forgot!  The North Wildwood Flea Market (one of the best and biggest on the East Coast) is tomorrow along JFK Blvd!  We're chock full of nuts this weekend that's for sure!

My Girlfriend who I lost this week and her lovely seashore porch
Mornin'!  It's 76° in sunny Wildwood NJ.  It's "grocery shopping" day and blog's late due to hitting the store as it opened.  It's crowded here at our infamous resort.  If you need or want something in particular (or on Sale) in our stores, good luck.  It takes luck and some savvy.  The Vacationers seem to beat you to it.  I got everything on the list except for 2 things and hubby's back out there before it gets ridiculously "weekend" intense.  For now, I got my sunshine, mug of coffee, potatoes boiling for potato salad, Hall and Oats singing on my device and other than putting this blog together, have nowhere to be or nothing to do (other to double check the bedrooms as company's coming tonight for the weekend again)!  It's going to be a beauty today.  Right now, it's near 80° with humidity low at 72% and dew point of 68°, sunshine, blue skies, light breezes (SW 7-9).  It'll be mostly sunny today and they've reported high near 80° and I say much warmer.  I'm going with 85-88° today.  Winds will be out of the South at 10-15mph (pack a bungee).  Tonight... partly cloudy turning to mostly cloudy, low of 68° with South winds at 10-15mph.  Tomorrow... chance of showers early, becoming a rainy day (75% chance) with SE winds at 5-10mph and a high of 76°.  Sunday... there's a New Moon (higher than normal tides) and a beauty with sunny skies and a high of 75°!

It's Friday...  Fireworks on the beach tonight at 10pm and my Friday Beach Etiquette Tips ...
