Lovely Saturday

Mornin'!  It's 79° in Wildwood NJ.  Humidity's 65% with a dewpoint of 65°.  Ms Sun's up and shining brightly.  Winds are currently out of the N-NW at 5-10mph.  It's going to be a lovely day down the Shore.  I have to report that there is a "Coastal Flood Advisory" posted all day into this evening mostly likely due to the upcoming New Moon tomorrow.  It's a "Minor" tidal flooding advisory but still shouldn't be ignored.  Know your high tide times, low-lying areas on the island, remember that the back of the island's high tide (the marsh/bay side) is an hour later than the ocean side), expect the possibility of some road closures, don't drive through flood waters and be aware of where you park your vehicle as flood waters will damage the undercarriage of your vehicle and lead to costly repairs.  I wouldn't be surprised if this Advisory continues throughout the entire weekend due to the moon and possibility of rain tomorrow night.
As for this weekend's weather... today will be plentiful sunshine, temps in the upper 80 / low 90s (yesterday we got up to 96°), with West winds at 5-10mph.  Tonight  clear, temps around 70° and SW winds at 5-10mph.  Tomorrow... sunny, temps in the low-mid 80s and Southerly winds at 15-25mph.  Tomorrow night... 50% chance of scattered rain and/or thunderstorms, temps in the upper60s/low70s and W-SW winds at 15-25mph.  Monday... a mix of sun and clouds, temps in the upper 70s and NW winds at 10-20mph.  Oh... if heading to beach today, remember the insect repellent as West winds bring the greenhead "biting" flies.

Mornin'!  It's 75° in Wildwood NJ. It's partly cloudy while Ms Sun rises and does her best to brighten things up.  Humidity's 81% with a dewpoint of 70°.  Winds are light out of the West at 5-10mph.  It'll be mostly sunny early with the chance of some scattered strong thunderstorms this afternoon (40% chance).  Some storms could contain damaging winds.  Temps will be in the mid-upper 80s.  By the way, we got to 96° yesterday afternoon according to my porch thermometer.  And, I wouldn't be surprised if we're in the 90s again today.  Just saying.  Oh, and just to note, my Air Conditioner went on early yesterday for the first time this year and thankfully kept the perspiration low around here. Mornin'!  It's 65° in Wildwood NJ.  It's cloudy with stiff winds out of the E-NE at 20-25mph.  Quite a change from yesterday's 91° with barely a breeze weather.  Yes, we got up to 91° according to my back porch thermometer.  It's was a hot one and yet, still no AC on here! I knew the weather would take a drastic change last night and stuck it out without turning my air conditioner on.  And, lo and behold, this morning... a whole different can of worms.  All windows are still open but this time, the cool, stiff breezes are filling my home with sea air as the birds are everywhere happily chirping, and singing their praises.  These morning clouds will eventually give way to afternoon sunshine, temps around 70° and E-NE winds not going anyway at 20-30mph.  Tonight... clear to partly clear, temps in the upper 50s and E-SE winds at 10-15mph.  Tomorrow... partly sunny, temps around 70° again with calmer winds out of the South at 10-20mph.  Tomorrow night... partly cloudy becoming overcast late, temps in the mid-60s and South winds at 10-20mph.  Wednesday and Wednesday night have 30-40% chance of rain showers.

Primary Election Day

Mornin'!  It's 51° in chilly Wildwood NJ.  Ms Sun's up and shining through some morning, wispy cloud cover.  Winds are out of the N-NE at 5-10mph.  It'll be sunny again today with temps near 70° and N-NE winds shifting from the S-SE at 10-15mph.  Tonight... partly clear, temps in the upper 50s and W-SW winds at 5-10mph.  Tomorrow... mostly sunny skies, temps around 70° with E-NE winds at 5-10mph.  Tomorrow night... clear, temps in the upper 50s with S-SW winds at 5-10mph.  Thursday... sunny, temps in the low-70s and S-SW winds at 10-20mph.  Thursday night... partly clear becoming clear overnight, temps in the low-60s and SW winds at 10-20mph.  It's with a heavy heart that I'm reporting of a young, missing swimmer who ventured out into not-yet-guarded beach here in Wildwood yesterday.  This is the second drowning (the other was in Ocean City NJ in the middle of May) on the South Jersey coast this year.  Since our beaches are not officially guarded during the week (only weekends from Memorial weekend until June 16th), it's always advised to never go swimming without the lifeguards present.  Not to mention, the rip currents have been in the Moderate zone recently meaning the waves are 2-3' along with a very strong undertow as well as very cold water temps (still under 60°).  Yesterday afternoon, 3 high school kids were rescued by the first responders and fire department but the 4th boy has yet to be recovered as search efforts continued into last evening.  The rip currents are still in that Moderate Zone today.  And, it's Primary Election Day in New Jersey.  Polls for Wildwood are at the Convention Center at 4501 Boardwalk.  For Wildwood Crest it's Crest Pier 1 at 5800 Ocean Ave.  And, for North Wildwood it's 900 Central Ave. Recreation Center. 4.5 square miles is the size of our island by the way.

Mornin'!  Lucy, I'm home!  It was yet another wonderful Mother's Day and long weekend with my family.  I will admit, that ol' salt air and sound of the gulls was almost just as wonderful as hubby and I sailed the Ferry home to Cape May!  Leaving the South (Georgia) and their summer weather and lushness was a bit of a struggle but I realize that Wildwood's only weeks away from that heat and humidity.  38 days until Summer to be exact.

This morning rain looks like it'll stick around for a little while more and check out by this afternoon as these rain clouds move on over and provide a little sunshine on the island.  We'll definitely see breaks of sunshine today.  Temps will get into the mid-60s.  It's currently still with barely a breeze out of the NW and will ramp up at 10-20mph by late afternoon / early evening.  Tonight... partly clear with some clouds in the mix, temps down to 50° and NW winds still sticking around at 10-20mph.  Tomorrow... partly sunny, temps in the mid-upper 60s and W-NW winds at 10-20mph.  Tomorrow night... partly cloudy, temps in the mid-50s and West winds at 10-15mph.  As for this weekend... Mornin'!  It's 54° in Wildwood NJ.  It's cloudy and wet.  We had some overnight downpours and we've been watered nicely.  Winds are out of the N-NW at 10-15mph.  We're going to have a mostly cloudy start to the day with chance of rain showers (40% chance) off and on this morning.  By this afternoon...  overcast with possible peeks of sunshine later. Temps will be in the upper 50s with North winds shifting to the S-SE then the W-SW at 10-15mph by this evening..  Tonight... partly cloudy, temps around 50° and W-SW winds at 10-15mph.  Tomorrow... sunny, temps in the low-60s and NW winds shifting from the S-SW at 10-15mph.  As for this weekend... That ol' briny fragrance is in the air,  The seagulls are squawking and adding to the coastal ambiance. It's a lovely mild morning down the Shore. It'll be sunny today with gusty winds again.  They're coming this afternoon.  Temps will be in the mid-upper 60s with sunshine and S-SW winds at 25-35mph +gusting.  Tonight... partly clear, temps in the upper 50s and S-SW winds still very gusty at at 20-30mph.  Tomorrow... rain showers developing the afternoon (60% chance), temps in the low-60s and South winds at 20-30mph.  Thursday... cloudy with rain (60% chance), temps in the upper 50s and North winds at 5-10mph.  Thursday night... partly cloudy, temps in the upper 40s and W-NW winds at 10-20mph.

Mornin'!  It's 55° in Wildwood NJ.  Ms Sun's up and isn't quite shining brightly thanks to some clouds along the coast.  Winds are out of the S-SW at 10-15mph. The sky is clearer with much less clouds on the bay/marsh side as blue skies abound.  Sunshine will win out as we're about to have a sunny Monday with temps in the low-60s and stiff breezes out of the S-SW at 15-25mph.  Tonight... a few passing clouds, temps in the upper 50s and S-SW winds still stiff at 15-25mph.  Tomorrow... partly to mostly sunny, blustery with winds out of the S-SW at 25-35mph +gusting, temps in the mid-60s.  Tomorrow night... windy with a few clouds passing through, temps in the mid-upper 50s and those S-SW winds at 25-35mph.  Wednesday... 50% chance of rain as it'll be mostly cloudy with rain by the afternoon, temps in the low-60s and still windy with Southerly winds at 20-30mph.  Wednesday night... cloudy with occasional rain showers (60% chance), temps in the mid-50s and SW winds at 10-20mph.

Sunday Winds Are Checking In

Mornin'!  It's 47° in Wildwood NJ.  It's cold with NW winds at 10-20mph making it feeling even colder (42° is more like it).  Ms Sun's up and shining brightly but is currently engaging with some clouds along the coast but still lighting up the deep blue sky as it all makes sense.  It's quite lovely actually.  The seagulls are enjoying mating season as it sounds like they're having a very good time this morning with their squawking and screeching everywhere.  It'll be a mostly sunny day with gusty winds.
