Happy Halloween!

Mornin'!  Happy Halloween!  It's 52° in Wildwood NJ.  It's clear except for along the horizon where Ms Sun will be dealing with some sunrise clouds.  Winds are really not there out of the N-NW at 1-3mph.  Seems like any rain due could hold off until the overnight.  Expect a mostly sunny day with some light clouds in the mix.  Temps will be in the low-mid 60s with S-SW winds at 5-10mph.  Tonight... the clouds will take over as we could see rain showers this evening turning to a steady rain overnight (80% chance) as temps begin dropping to the mid-upper 50s and S-SW winds at 5-10mph.  Tomorrow... rain showers in the morning (60% chance) with peeks of sunshine later in the day.  Temps will be in the mid-60s.  Until next year October... see ya on the other side!

October's Beginning To Take Its Bow

Mornin'!  It's 52° in Wildwood NJ.  We're under cloud cover but Ms Sun's peeking right under them along the horizon making for beautiful painted cloud cover.  Winds are out of the N-NE at 7-9mph.  It'll be mostly cloudy this morning with partial clearing today as it'll be a partly to mostly sunny day.  Temps will be in the low-60s with NE winds at 5-10mph.  Tonight... clouds take over as temps drop to the mid-50s and very light and variable winds.  Tomorrow... starting out much like today with partly cloudy skies turning to mostly cloudy skies in the afternoon. Temps will be in the low-60s with light and variable winds.  Tuesday (November) kicks off the month with a rainy day and Ms Sun's supposed to check back in on Wednesday.

Anniversary of Superstorm Sandy

This Morning's WebCam Shot - N.Wildwood

Mornin'!  It's 51° in Wildwood NJ.  We're "gray" again.  There's thick cloud cover over the island.  Breezes are out of the North at 8-10mph.  These clouds are supposed to clear out some giving us a partly sunny day with temps near 60° and NE winds at 10-20mph.  Tonight... partly clear with increasing clouds as temps drop back down to where they are now... 50° and N-NE winds at 10-15mph+gusting.  Tomorrow... much like today with a mix of clouds and sun, temps in the mid-60s with North winds at 5-10mph.  Monday... partly sunny, temps in the mid-60s and calm, variable winds.  Today is 10 years since Superstorm Sandy hit our Coast. It was 1500 miles wide and took 233 lives.  Hurricane Sandy had encountered two other weather systems intensifying its advance as it made a direct hit on the New Jersey and New York coasts. It was truly scary and thankfully the only thing damaged was under the house in the crawl space. Unfortunately all my Christmas storage containers were toppled and everything was destroyed by flood waters. It was only stuff. https://storymaps.arcgis.com/stories/a2051beb42b044c58a82d671b28bbb17

Oh... I almost forgot to mention that there's a Coastal Flood Advisory posted today from 10AM this morning to 4PM this afternoon.  I'm not sure why as there's no "New" or "Full" moons at this time or any heavy rain event or anything like that but the advisory states "minor" flooding is possible in low-lying areas on the island and/or bayside communities today. I'm thinking it's tide waters seeping in from the ground and inundating the island.  Don't drive through flood waters and remember that the back bay floods an hour later than the ocean side of the island.   Oh...one more thing, this is the last weekend of daylight savings time!  Be prepared to get an extra hour of sleep next weekend as we turn the clocks back an hour and begin to get that darkness of Winter coming in the late afternoon.  Yuck!

Comin' Down The October Wire

Mornin'!  It's 49° in Wildwood NJ.  We're heading into October's finale as the last weekend of October is upon us.  And, lest not forget it's the 10 year anniversary of Superstorm Sandy this weekend (tomorrow), and it's also the last weekend of Standard time.  But, for right now, it's somewhat cloudy with Ms Sun on her way making for a beautiful sky.  Breezes are stiff out of the NE at 17-22mph +gusting.  It'll be a partly sunny / partly cloudy, windy day with temps in the upper 50s; winds will be out of the NE at 20-30mph +gusting.  Tonight... mostly cloudy, temps near 50° and NE winds at 10-20mph.  Tomorrow... mostly sunny, temps in the low-60s and calmer winds still out of the NE at 10-15mph.  Sunday... partly sunny, temps in the mid-60s and NE winds at 5-10mph.  Monday... cloudy with 30% chance of rain and temps in the mid-upper 60s.

Lovely Thursday

Mornin'!  It's 56° in Wildwood NJ.  Ms Sun's crossing the horizon as I type. The sky is clear and breezes are out of the NW at 9-11mph.  It'll be sunny today!  Yay!  We haven't seen blue skies in awhile.  Expect plentiful sunshine with a clear blue sky, temps in the mid-upper 60s and N-NW winds at 10-20mph.  Tonight... clear, starlit skies, temps in the low-mid 50s and N-NE winds at 10-20mph.  Tomorrow... it's looking partly to mostly cloudy, temps around 60° and strong, blustery winds out of the NE at 20-30mph +gusting.  For the weekend... Saturday looks partly sunny with temps around 60° and Sunday looks mostly cloudy with temps around 60°.  Sunday night has a chance of rain (30% chance) in the forecast.

The Fog's Here!

This Morning's Webcam Shots-N.Wildwood

Mornin'!  It's 61° in Wildwood NJ.  We're in the thick soup as everything's soaked and dripping.   It's feeling a bit like San Francisco California which is one of the top five foggiest cities in our country.  Hubby and I were there visiting for a week once and we never once saw the top of the Golden Gate Bridge while we were there due to the fog.  And, speaking of San Francisco, the city had a 5.1 magnitude earthquake there yesterday.  As far as I read, there were no damages or injuries.
Back to our fog... we're in it.  It rolled it last evening and just kept getting thicker and thicker until I could barely see across the street in the very early morning hours.  Humidity's currently 100%.  There's not much in breezes.  Expect morning fog along with cloudy conditions with a slight chance of rain (20%) as temps rise just a little to 65°.  We might see Ms Sun peeking in later this afternoon but all forecasts are pointing to a mostly cloudy, damp day. Winds will be out of the South at 5-10mph.  Tonight... cloudy, temps in the low-50s and West winds at 10-15mph.  Tomorrow... Sunny!  Yay!  Temps will be in the mid-60s with W-NW winds at 10-20mph.  As for this weekend... Saturday's looking partly sunny with temps in the low-60s and Sunday's looking partly cloudy with temps in the low-60s.

New Moon Tuesday

Mornin'!  It's 59° in Wildwood NJ.  We're dripping outside as it's misty and a bit foggy out there.  No rain; just dampness with everything soaked and dripping wet.  There's lots of aromatic brininess in the stillness too.  Not much in breezes out of the West at 2-3mph as the air lays heavy.  It'll be another day like yesterday... overcast and cloudy with temps in the mid-upper 60s and very light and variable breezes.  Tonight... cloudy, slight chance of a rain shower, temps down to where they are now... upper 50s and very light breezes.  Tomorrow... more of the same as we're locked into the thick cloud cover with a slight chance of a rain sprinkle or two.  Temps will be in the mid-upper 60s with Southerly breezes at 5-10mph.  There's a good chance we'll see Ms Sun by late afternoon tomorrow!  It's the "New" Moon today meaning it's not visible but brings the same reaction to our tides making them much higher and fuller than normal tides.  We could see some tidal flooding along those low-lying areas on the island.

Dreary Monday

Mornin'!  It's 61° in wet Wildwood.  It's damp and misty and breezy outside this morning.  Humidity's 97%.   Everything's soaked from the overnight heavy rains.  We had quite a watering.  Yesterday turned out to be a misty, drizzly kind of day with some peeks of sunshine in the late morning.  The winds were relentless and super annoying.  Breezes are currently calmer (and still) out of the NE at 10-15mph.  Expect a cloudy day with occasional rain showers on and off (50% chance) with temps in the mid-60s and N-NE winds at 10-15mph.  Tonight... overcast with rain showers (40% chance), temps in the upper 50s and E-NE winds at 5-10mph.  Tomorrow... cloudy with a 25% chance of rain, temps in the mid-upper 60s and E-NE winds at 5-10mph.  It looks like we might see Ms Sun by late Wednesday afternoon.  Go Phillies!  Congrats on your National League win!  World Series... here we come!

Keep Your Eye On The Sky Sunday

Mornin'!  It's 59° in Wildwood NJ.  It's gray and chilly with winds out of the NE 15-20mph.  It's raining lightly as this rain event is right off shore over the ocean heading this way.  It's going to be a perfectly miserable day with rain (90% chance) and winds out of the NE at 20-30mph +gusting... a perfect little "mini-nor'easter" if you will.  Temps will be in the low-60s.  Tonight... steady rain with it continuing overnight (70% chance). Temps will drop into the mid-50s with N-NE winds at 15-25mph. Tomorrow... showers in the morning (40% chance), then a cloudy afternoon with peeks of sunshine and temps in the mid-60s and N-NE winds at 10-15mph.  Tomorrow night... still mostly cloudy with temps in the upper 50s and winds light and variable.  The New Moon is in a couple days so you might see higher than normal tides and some coastal/street flood especially with this rain event surrounding us. Beware of low-lying areas on the island as well as high tide times.  Careful parking that vehicle and don't drive through flood waters.
FOOTNOTE: It's 10:30AM and the sun is shining over Wildwood.  I just checked the doppler again and it appears as if we may not see any more rain today.  All that green, rainy cloudy cover is moving north.  We're still not blue sky as the clouds are seemingly breaking up but it's still pretty cloudy and I felt compelled to update as I'm almost certain we may have dodged this rainy event bullet today.  This evening and tonight could be a different story as the doppler still has stormy weather south of us along the coast which could make its way to our coast.  Just saying.  Keep your eye on the sky!

The Weather Pleasantries Continue

Mornin'!  It's 47° in Wildwood NJ.  It's clear and becoming light out.  Breezes are out of the W-SW at 3-5mph.  It'll be another bright, sunny day with a high of 61° and SW winds at 10-20mph.  Tonight... clear, temps in the upper 40s and SW winds at 10-15mph.  Friday... same as today with plenty of sunshine, high of 62° and S-SW winds at 5-10mph.  Saturday... same as today and tomorrow... sunny, temps in the low-mid 60s with E-NE winds at 5-10mph.  And, Sunday... looking wet with 40-60% chance of rain and of course those N-NE winds at 15-20mph.  It's "hanging-with-the-grandbabies" time and I'm just going to take a "time-out" on the blog for a few days.  I should be back in the weather saddle before the weekend's over though.  Have a good day and get out and enjoy this spectacular weather as of late!   Oh... if you feel like checking on the current weather in Wildwood during this short hiatus of mine, just click on "Weather - Wunderground" under my "Personal Favs" and type in "Wildwood" where it says "Search locations" and that'll bring you up to date.

Lovely Autumn Hump Day

This Morning's Webcam Shot - N.Wildwood
Mornin'!  It's 45° in Wildwood NJ.  We're under clear, moonlit skies with winds out of the West at 4-8mph.  It's still dark with Ms Sun still below the somewhat cloudy horizon but on fire as she's making way for her show-stopping, glorious sunrise.  It'll be a lovely autumn day with mostly sunshine and some clouds in the mix and a high of 57° with W-SW winds at 10-15mph.  Tonight... those leftover sporadic clouds will give way to clear, starlit skies.  Temps will drop 10 degrees down to 47° and West winds at 15-20mph.  Tomorrow... mainly sunny, high of 62° and SW winds at 10-15mph.  At this time, the weekend's a 50-50 with Saturday being glorious (sunny and 65° and light winds) and Sunday possibly being crapola (60% chance of rain with NE 20-25mph winds).

Cloudy Start With A Sunny Day Ahead

Mornin'!  It's 50° in Wildwood NJ.  We're under mostly cloud cover with very light breezes out of the NW at 5-7mph.  We had one rain shower yesterday and that was last evening so I guess we're watered.  It's a little chill-chill this morning when stepping onto the back porch. I picture the birds still hunkered down keeping warm as they're all very quiet. Ms Sun is supposed to check in today but right now... cloudy skies.  No sunrise to speak of although she's behind all this cloud cover.  By this afternoon... clouds check out as we'll have plenty of blue skies and sunshine.  Expect a cool, sunny day with temps in the mid-50s and W-NW winds at 10-15mph.  Tonight... back to the "on" switch for the furnace as we'll have clear skies, temps down into the low-mid 40s and W-NW winds at 10-15mph.  Tomorrow... much like today with sunny skies but breezier with W-SW winds at 10-20mph and temps in the mid-upper 50s.

Mornin'!  It's 60° in Wildwood NJ. It's still dark outside.  It's overcast and cloudy as no moon or stars are visible in the pre-dawn sky.  Humidity's up there at 90%.  There's a  heavy stillness in the thick, aromatic, humid air even though the temperature is low.  There's barely a breeze out of the SW at 4-8mph.  Those overnight rains I mentioned yesterday never developed as other than the humidity, it's dry outside.  Expect a cloudy day with the possibility of showers beginning later this morning or early this afternoon (60% chance).  Today's temps will be around 66°.  Tonight... mostly cloudy conditions with 50% chance of rain.  Temps will drop into the mid-40s with W-NW winds at 10-15mph.  Tomorrow... a lot cooler, mostly sunny (some clouds in the morning) with a high of 55° and W-NW winds at 10-15mph.

Beautiful Sunday

Mornin'!  It's 56° in Wildwood NJ.  Ms Sun's up along with some light, wispy cloud cover here and there.  Breezes are light out of the N-NW at 3-5mph.  It's a spectacular morning! The moment I stepped out onto the back porch door, the aroma of the thick, briny air along with all the noisy island birds making their presence known filled the senses.  Not to mention, hubby's already in the kitchen brewing coffee and frying up his infamous home fries for Sunday breakfast (his Sunday ritual).  Life is good. Living in the moment!
It'll be a partly sunny / partly cloudy day with temps in the upper 60s and W-NW breezes at 5-10mph.  Tonight... clouds begin to take over as showers are due in by the overnight (60% chance).  Temps will drop down into the mid-upper 50s with S-SW winds at 10-15mph.  Tomorrow... probably waking to those overnight rain showers (50% chance) with mostly cloudy conditions turning to partly sunny skies later in the day as temps go back up into the upper 60s with S-SW winds at 10-20mph.  Tuesday... sunny and colder with high for the temps... mid-50s.  Congrats to the Phillies (they won their division yesterday) and go Eagles (who are 5-0) and I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that the Flyers won their first 2 games of the season!

The Rain-Is-A-Comin'!

Mornin'!  It's 64° in Wildwood NJ.  We're under thick cloud cover with breezes out of the S-SE at 10-15mph.  It's looking gray and grim out there as the sky's preparing for a wet one.  Expect some rain today.  It'll be developing later this afternoon (70% chance) and some of these rain bands could be strong to severe with gusty winds (S-SE at 15-25mph +gusting).  We could see excessive rainfall as the arrival of a cold front's coming along with it.  Temps will be in the upper 60s.  Tonight... showers and thunderstorms (75% chance) will give way to partly cloudy skies after midnight.  Temps will drop into the low-mid 50s with S-SW winds at 15-25mph+gusting.  Tomorrow... Another Beautiful Day On Tap

Mornin'!  It's 53° in Wildwood NJ.  Ms Sun's rising as I type and the sky is just stunning painted with every pastel shade imaginable.  Breezes are out of the S-SW at 2-3mph.  It's quiet and still with happy island birds everywhere making their presence known.  The fragrance of the island is thick and briny.  I just love mornings such as these.  It'll be a lovely day to start, then a few late afternoon clouds filter over the island.  Temps will be in the upper 60s with Southerly breezes at 10-15mph.  Tonight... clouds take over as it'll be cloudy with temps around 61° and Southerly breezes at 10-15mph.  Tomorrow... looking wet and miserable with showers in the forecast (beginning late morning) as it's looking like it could turn to a steady rain, temps around 70° and S-SE winds (stiff) at 15-25mph +gusting.  Chance of rain tomorrow is 80%.  As for this coming weekend... it's looking like a perfect Fall weekend down the Shore with plenty of blue sky and sunshine and temps in the mid-upper 60s with much lighter breezes.  All today's photos are from North Wildwood's Webcam.

Full Moon Weekend

This Morning's Web Cam Shot - N. Wildwood
Mornin'!  It's 54° in Wildwood NJ.  We're under some morning cloud cover as Ms Sun's nowhere to be seen "yet".  Breezes are out of the N-NW at 9-11mph.  It was raining about an hour ago which is what woke me and was not on today's forecast.  So, these morning clouds will give way to sunny skies by this afternoon.  It'll be much cooler today with a high of 59° with NW winds at 10-15mph.  Tonight... clear skies, low of 46° and NW winds at 5-10mph.  Tomorrow... sunny, high of 62° and Winds out of the West at 10-15mph.  Monday... sunny, high of 63° and Westerly breezes at 3-5mph.

Another Autumn Beauty On The Weather Menu

Mornin'!  It's 58° in Wildwood NJ.  Humidity's 91%.  It's clear.  The moon and stars are in the morning darkness.  Breezes are light out of the West at 5-7mph.  It'll be a lovely sunny day again!  Expect sunshine, blue skies, breezes out of the W-SW at 5-10mph with temps around 72°.  Tonight... mostly clear with some clouds in the mix giving way to mostly cloudy skies overnight.  Temps will drop into the low-50s with NW winds at 10-15mph.  Tomorrow... cooler since a cold front is due in overnight and will drop temps.  We'll only see temps in the upper 50s as we kick off the weekend with some morning clouds giving way to mainly sunny skies by the afternoon as well as NW winds are 10-15mph.  Sunday... mainly sunny, temps in the low-60s and a bit breezy with West winds at 10-20mph.  Monday... sunny, temps in the mid-60s with light and variable breezes.  The Full Moon is Sunday and will no doubt be creating higher than normal tides. Thank goodness the moon wasn't full and doing its thing last weekend with those bands of Ian looming around town.

She's Back!

Mornin'!  It's 56° in Wildwood NJ.  Ms Sun's up! She's back! We've got sunshine pouring into all the windows this morning!  It's been over a week since we've seen Ms Sun.  All the houseplants are smiling.  Not much in breezes... N-NW at 3-4mph but there's still a chill in the air.  It'll be a beauty today.  The furnace is back off (turned it off and opened the bedroom windows last night before turning in).  Expect a lovely autumn day with a partly sunny day along with some clouds in the mix.  Temps will be tapping 70° with very light breezes out of the W-SW at 2-4mph.  Tonight... mostly clear, temps around 60° and SW winds at 5-10mph.  Tomorrow... sunny, temps around 70° and W-SW winds at 5-10mph.  At this time, the weekend's (Columbus Day Weekend)  looking mostly sunny with colder temps... tapping 60° so pack your sweaters and jackets if visiting this weekend.  There's still events going on... check the calendar of events!

Last Of The Lousy Weather Wednesday

This Morning's WebCam Shot - N.Wildwood
Mornin'!  It's 58° in Wildwood NJ.  We're under gray skies as the clouds appear to be clearing away.  It's misty and damp.  Humidity's 100%.  Breezes are out of the North at 10-15mph.  It's been 6 days since we've seen any sign of Ms Sun and today may likely be the 7th day.  Expect a gray, cloudy day with showers (70% chance) and North winds at 10-20mph and temps in the mid-60s.  Tonight... gray and possibly foggy with 20% chance of showers as the clouds begin to clear into the overnight.  Temps will be around where they are now... upper 50s with North winds finally beginning to settle down at 5-10mph.  Tomorrow... kicking off the day with patchy fog as Ms Sun has plans to burn off the haze as she's intending to begin shining over the island and begin the drying out and warmth that we've been missing this last week.  Temps will be in the low-70s with NW winds becoming West by the afternoon at 5-8mph.  Tomorrow night... mostly clear with temps in the upper 50s and light and variable breezes.  At this time, the weekend's looking fine with sunny skies, temps in the low-mid 60s and light breezes.  Seems like we made it through the remnants of the outer bands of Ian that obviously overstayed his welcome.  But, thankfully no damage to report.  The beach in North Wildwood took a serious hit as the storm chopped off the beach and the ocean took the sand that was collected all last winter and dispersed before the summer season. We had none of that intense street flooding yesterday as the weather-folk predicted.  The car's back and in the driveway as the blower and broom are in the shed waiting to start the clean up. All those winds and tide water make for a dirty island that's for sure.

Ian's Wrath Continues...

Mornin'!  It's 48° in Wildwood NJ.  Humidity's 94%.  We're dry (except for that humidity) as the rains are due in until this afternoon.  It's windy (what else is new) with North winds at 20-25mph +gusting and cold outside.  My furnace is still going strong this morning.  So, this is the next to the last day of this "crap" weather.  I was going to say "shit" weather.  I've never been introduced to Winter so fast.  I mean it was a week ago that I was sitting on a soft, warm Wildwood beach in a bathing suit.  I'm not sure what gives, but Fall in Wildwood this year blows (no pun intended) thanks to Ian.  The "gale warnings", "high surf advisory", "coastal flood warnings", and "dangerous rip current warnings" are all still in effect.  We're supposed to get much worse floods than yesterday so that means today the car gets moved 4 blocks away to higher ground. For me it's at New Jersey Avenue at City Hall in Wildwood.  Yesterday, Otten's Harbor (¼ block away) breached the bulkhead and was aggressively coming down my street (thanks to the winds) surrounding the neighborhood with rippling, tiny whitecaps.  Talk about "water-front" property.  And, like I said it's supposed to be worse today.  Expect winds out of the North at 25-35mph +gusting as we've got 95% chance of rain and temps barely tapping 60° today.  Also expect the flooding around dinner time.  Tonight... wet with 80% chance of rain, temps around 55° and N-NE winds at 20-30mph.  Tomorrow... more of the same with 60% chance of rain with temps in the low-60s and North winds at 15-25mph with higher gusts possible.  The light at the end of the tunnel is Thursday... Ms Sun's checking in as it'll be partly sunny with temps in the upper 60s and calm winds out of the North at 4-6mph.  Be cognizant of where you drive and park your vehicle today. Know your low-lying areas and avoid them at high tide.  I have a view of the end of my street as the intersection there was flooded and how amazing to see everyone quickly driving through (I guess they all thought the faster they drove, the safer they would be) the flood waters destroying the undercarriage of their vehicles and creating wakes.  Thanks to them, the harbor water rushed up my street into my driveway headed right for my car.  Like I said, it's supposed to be worse flooding today than yesterday.  Prepare accordingly.  Be safe out there.

And, so on and so on...

Mornin'!  It's 50° in windy Wildwood.  We're still under Ian's wrath with dark, gray skies, relentless winds out of the N-NE at 25-35mph +gusting and periods of rain.  Right now, it's dry but we've had our share of rain along with coastal flooding this past weekend.  No damage to report.  I can't believe I'm even writing this but the furnace went on this morning.  It was 60° in here and with these winds and raw, wet surroundings (I'm sure it's soaked in the crawl space under the house making the hardwood and tiles to feel very cold), it was time to take some of this chill out of the house and fire that bad boy up. I keep watching all the footage of Ian's damage to Florida and breathe a sigh of relief that it wasn't us.  But, at the same time, to be in the 4th consecutive day of non-stop battering winds and rain and at times flooding, I'm becoming very weary.  It's really hard to sleep with winds that sound like a high speed train roaring around your home. Even my ear plugs aren't working. There's no doubt I'm having sleep deprivation.  Enough complaining and focus on what's good and that's the roof over my head, plenty of food in the house and warmth from the furnace.  Very grateful.  Very, very grateful.  Now... on to the weather.
It'll be another day like the past 4 days... periodic showers in the morning becoming a steady rain by this afternoon.  Temps will be in the mid-upper 50s with N-NE winds at 25-35mph +gusting.  Tonight... cloudy and windy with periods of rain, temps in the upper 40s and N-NE winds at 20-30mph +gusting. Tomorrow... cloudy and windy with periods of rain.  Temps will be in the mid-upper 50s with NE winds at 25-35mph +gusting.  With all this rain comes tidal, coastal flooding.  All of yesterdays alerts and warnings are still posted.  Blah. Blah. Blah.  So far, I'm really hating October.

Everyone Knows It's Windy

This Morning's Webcam Shot - N.Wildwood

Mornin'!  It's 63° in Wildwood NJ.  Humidity's 95% with a dewpoint of 61°.  No rain at the moment but we're under heavy cloud cover.  Shall we mention the winds?  What a windy weekend we're having.  Winds have been and are currently out of the NE at 25-35mph +gusting.  At this point I don't think there's another direction of wind for awhile for us.  Ian's sporadic outer bands are creating havoc in this neck of the woods.  First of all, yesterday we received no rain expect for the very early morning.  The stiff, off-shore winds actually dried us out.  At times, they would get misty and almost foggy but that's as far as moisture got.  It looked dark and ominous the entire day, but just winds were happening in Wildwood.  I felt sorry about all those cancellations the City Administrators declared but better safe than sorry.  Even after yesterday's forecast debacle, I'm calling "rain" again as there's an 85% chance of a soaking rain today.  Who knows?  Ian's not making these forecasts easy let alone spot-on that's for sure.  Here's what I know... it'll be really windy down the shore today with Nor'easter (NE) winds at 25-35mph +gusting of up to 50mph.  Tonight... cloudy, windy and periods of rain (90% chance).  Temps will be much cooler... low 50s with N-NE winds at 25-35mph +gusting of up to 50mph.  Tomorrow... cloudy with periods of rain (100% chance) with temps barely tapping 60° and N-NE winds at 25-35mph +gusting.  Tuesday... more wind and rain (60% chance).  We just might see peeks of sun on Wednesday afternoon.  So, here are all of today's postings:
*Dangerous Rip Current until Oct.4th
*Hazardous Weather (heavy rain with winds)
*High Surf Advisory until Oct.4th
*Wind Advisory until Oct.3rd
*Coastal Flood Warning until Oct.3rd (8PM)
Be safe out there.  Know your high tides and low-lying areas on the island.  Keep in mind that the ocean's high tide times are an hour before the back marsh/bay area.  Don't drive through flood waters. Don't go into the ocean.  I'm staying put today and enjoying my homemade chicken-vegetable soup and some football (that's if the power stays on with these annoying winds)!  Go Eagles!

October's Here!

Mornin'!  Welcome October!  It's 63° in Wildwood NJ.  Humidity's 97% with a dewpoint of 64°.  It's raining.  And, the winds are off the chart... NE at 25-35mph sustained with gusting at 40+mph.  Wildwood's been seeing the outer remnants of Ian since late yesterday and overnight brought some bands of rain and non-stop winds.  It'll be another windy day with NE winds at 25-35mph +gusting with steady rains (90% chance) and a high of 69°.  Tonight... rain showers (60% chance), temps in the low-60s and NE winds at 15-25mph. Tomorrow... windy with periods of rain (80% chance), high near 65° and NE winds at 25-35mph +gusting.  Monday... rainy and cold with a high near 55° and those Nor'easter relentless winds at 25-35mph +gusting.  Strap in.  All weekend events as we knew them are canceled.  That includes, the Oktober Fest, the Italian Fest, the Race of the Gentlemen, Surf Fishing Tournament and the Wildwood Crest City Yard Sale... all canceled with no rescheduled dates due to this weekend's Nor'easter.  October's always been considered the "heart of the hurricane season" and I'm very thankful that we're not in the midst of one of them.  This Nor'easter is scary enough.  Be safe out there!
