Farewell May

Mornin'!  It's 63° in Wildwood NJ.  Ms Sun's up shining over the island in the mostly sunny skies.  There's some clouds in the lovely morning mix.   Breezes are light out of the North at 9-12mph.  The island birds are very vocal again sharing their happiness this Sunday morning.  Expect abundant sunshine as temps just about tap 70° today.  Winds will be out of the N-NW at 10-15mph.  Tonight... clear, temps in the low-50s and North winds at 10-15mph.  Tomorrow... sunny with some afternoon clouds in the vivid blue sky with temps tapping 70°... much like today.  So, this is it, May... you served us some unseasonably cool weather this year (not complaining) and here down the Shore, we haven't felt summer weather at all so far.  We had more days of cool weather along with gray skies than blue, warm, sunny skies that's for sure.  With summer just 22 days away... June will no doubt take over where you've left off and bring it.  Until next year, May... see ya on the other side!

Pleasant Saturday

Mornin'!  It's 67° in Wildwood NJ.  It's another quiet (except for the birds), gray morning down the Shore.  We're under cloud cover.  Ms Sun's been up but can't break through this heavy cloud cover yet.  Breezes are out of the W-SW at 3-5mph and the wind chimes have yet to move this early morn.  Everything's soaked from the overnight fog and dew.  It's going to be a pleasant Saturday here along the coast.  We're going to have mostly sunny skies with temps in the mid-70s and breezes out of the W-NW at 8-10mph.  By sunset, clear, in the low-mid 60s with W-SW breezes at 5-7mph.  Tomorrow... sunny, a wee bit cooler (upper 60s) and a tiny bit breezier.  The weekend turned out to be close to 5-star after all!

Mostly Cloudy Friday

Mornin'!  It's 63° in Wildwood NJ.  We've got another gray, damp, cool morning with everything drippy from the overnight and early morning fog and mist.  Breezes are out of the South at 12-15mph.  As I made the bed, I swear the comforter felt a bit damp from the opened windows.  And those island birds seem happy... lots of tweeting, chirping, peeping and squawking in my neighborhood.  It's the best part of waking up aside from a fresh brewed cup of coffee!
It's going to be generally mostly cloudy today with a 20% chance of a shower or thunderstorm.  Ms Sun will be shining a bit as well.   Temps will be in the upper 60s with South winds at 15-25mph.  Tonight... rain and/or thunderstorms developing late (50% chance) as temps go down to where they are now... low-mid 60s and S-SW winds at 15-25mph.  Tomorrow... cloudy and possibly rain/storm start as that rain system will check out by late morning taking most of the cloud cover with it.  We could see temps in the low-mid 70s tomorrow!  Sunday... sunny with temps just about tapping 70°.

Birthday Blog

Mornin'!  And, a very Happy Birthday to my better half today!  Hope it's terrific!  Love you!
It's 63° in Wildwood NJ.  It's overcast with lots of cloud cover.  There are some openings in the clouds over the horizon that blocked this morning's sunrise and who knows... it could make for a beautiful display of colors if Ms Sun can break on through.  Breezes are out of the S-SE at 10-15mph.  It's feeling damp and misty outside.  It'll be mostly gray today with overcast skies and a slight chance (20%) of rain showers. Not sure if we'll even see peeks of sun throughout the day.  Temps will only get up a few more degrees (mid-upper 60s) with S-SE winds picking up a bit at 10-20mph.  Tonight... cloudy with showers after midnight (50% chance).  Low of 62° and Southerly winds at 10-20mph.   Tomorrow... more cloudiness (60% chance of showers in the morning) with peeks of sunshine by mid-day and a high of 69°.  Winds will be stiffer too.  The weekend's looking 50-50 with Saturday looking wet and Sunday looking sunny.

Hump Day

Mornin'!  It's 58° in Wildwood NJ.  We've still got cloudy skies and some leftover morning fog as breezes are light out of the East at 7-9mph.  It'll be a partly sunny / partly cloudy day with a high of 64° and winds remaining out of the East at 5-10mph.  Ms Sun will begin to peek through all the cloud cover but the clouds are staying checked in too.  Tonight... mostly cloudy with 30% chance of showers developing later in the evening.  SE winds will be checked in at 10-15mph.  Tomorrow... 40% chance of rain showers with winds picking up out of the S-SE at 15-25mph and temps in the mid-upper 60s.  At this time, the forecast looks like a rainy Saturday and partly sunny Sunday.

Mostly Gray Tuesday

Mornin'!  It's 60° in Wildwood NJ.  Blog's a bit late due to a nice "sleep in late" morning. It's late for me as I'm more like a "before 6AM" kind of person.  It's looking the same outside as when I turned in last night... foggy and misty with light winds out of the E-NE at 6-8mph.  It's sounding like a typical Spring morning down the Shore... lots of island birds making their presence known.  It appears the fog is going to stick around this morning, then turn mostly cloudy this afternoon with a high of 65° and E-NE winds at 5-10mph.  Not one forecast mentioned any sunshine today but you never know when there's this much moisture in the air... it could try and burn through and shine down.  Especially when everything posted is saying "mostly" cloudy today.   Tonight... mostly cloudy and overcast with a 20% chance of a rain shower and temps in the mid-50s. Winds will be out of the East at 5-10mph.  Tomorrow... cloudy and high near 65° with light E-NE winds.  There's a 20% chance of rain showers tomorrow.

Happy Memorial Day 2020!

Mornin'!  Happy Memorial Day!  Today's blog is in honor of all those who have given the ultimate sacrifice to keep us safe and free. A heartfelt "Thank You" just doesn't seem enough as we remember you today.
It's cloudy, misty and very damp this morning with breezes out of the NE at 9-12mph.  It's looking like a mostly cloudy start to the day with Ms Sun peeking in by this afternoon.  Temps will be in the mid-60s with NE breezes at 10-15mph  Tonight... partly cloudy with 20% chance of a shower or two (mostly near midnight) with temps dropping to the mid-50s.  E-NE winds at 5-10mph will be checked in this evening.  Tomorrow... beginning to clear out as the morning clouds move aside for some sunshine with temps in the mid-60s again.

Sunday Sloughing

Mornin'!  It's 53° in Wildwood NJ.  It's cloudy and breezy with winds out of the NE at 17-22mph.  It's also misty and wet and you're sure to get a nice moist sloughing when stepping outside.  I just noticed on my webcams that the Wildwood's season home opener for their Farmer's Market is setting up at the Byrne Plaza as I type.
https://www.wildwoodinsider.com/wildwood-live-cams/
When stepping on my back porch to check the thermometer, I couldn't get back into the house fast enough.  It's perfectly miserable outside and if anything, it's an ideal morning to turn over and pull the covers up.
Expect a pretty raw, moist, breezy day.  Ms Sun may peek in around dinner time and who knows may provide a nice sunset.  Temps will rise a few degrees today as the high looks like 58° with NE winds at 15-25mph.  There's a very slight chance of rain showers.  Tonight... overcast with temps down to where they are now and NE winds at 10-20mph.  There's a 20% chance of rain showers tonight.  Tomorrow... clouds to kick off Memorial day and it'll be partly sunny / partly cloudy with temps in the low-60s and NE winds at 10-15mph.

Happy Memorial Day Weekend!

Mornin'!  Happy Memorial Weekend 2020!  For all those who have given their lives to protect and defend our country... this weekend is the celebration of remembering your life and sacrifice as we gratefully keep you in our minds and hearts.  Thank You!
It's 58° in Wildwood NJ.  Not much in the line of breezes (W-NW at 2-4mph).  We're under heavy cloud cover with misty conditions.  When I first woke, there was a little sprinkling of rain drops on the hallway skylight but I can't say that it's actually raining down.. "spitting" is more like it.  One thing's for sure... everything's wet outside and the humidity's 98%.  Expect some peeks of sun but include rain and even thunderstorms this morning followed by rain showers on and off this afternoon (90% chance).  Be aware of low-lying areas and street flooding as the high tides are higher than normal thanks to yesterday's New Moon.  Temps will tap 70° with winds out of the W-NW at 5-10mph.  Tonight... showers early, turning to just clouds overnight with temps in the low-50s and NE winds at 15-25mph.  Chance of rain is 50%.  Tomorrow... partly cloudy with 20% chance of rain and a high of 57° and those NE winds at 15-25mph will still be checked in.  Memorial Day... Ms Sun begins to peek through the continued cloud cover and there's not much in rainfall for the holiday.  Seems the weather fits the mood this holiday weekend though.

New Moon Friday

Mornin'!  It's 58° in Wildwood NJ!  A lot is happening this early a.m.  First, we've got lots of cloud cover making for a fantastic sunrise which was less than an hour ago.  Ms Sun's do her best to brighten things up along the coast before the clouds take over the sky completely.  Breezes are light out of the E-SE at 6-9mph.  The salty seashore aroma is immediately evident when stepping outside.  The island birds are making their presence known (at least all around my neighborhood).  And, these clouds are insulating the sounds of the island.  The birds aren't the only thing loud and clear... I can hear the roar of the ocean waves 6+ blocks away.  (I always say "6+" since the actual walk is 6 city blocks then add to that the beach's width... about another block or two depending on the tides; the beach is extremely wide where I live).
Today's weather isn't that great.  In fact, the entire holiday weekend weather forecast doesn't have much going for it.  Expect lots of cloud cover with sporadic light showers this morning (70% chance) which evolve into a more steady rain for the afternoon.  High of 62°.  Winds will be out of the SE at 10-20mph.  Tonight... considerable cloudiness with occasional rain showers (40% chance), low of 58° with S-SW winds at 10-15mph.  Tomorrow... 60% chance of scattered rain showers and thunderstorms.  Temps in the mid-upper 60s.  Sunday and Monday... cloudy and breezy.  Remember it's the "New Moon" today and the tides will be much higher than normal.

Partly Sunny / Partly Cloudy / Partly Breezy

Mornin'!  It's 52° in Wildwood NJ.  Ms Sun's been up for over an hour now but is behind a partly cloudy, hazy sky. Breezes have calmed down significantly as they're currently out of the E-NE at 10-15mph.  It looks like we're going to have a mix of clouds and sun today as temps stay in the upper 50s.  Winds will become brisk at 15-25mph out of the E-NE.  Tonight... partly cloudy with a 20% chance of precipitation.  Temps will be in the mid-50s with Easterly breezes at 10-15mph.  Tomorrow... mostly cloudy with periods of light rain (80% chance).  The weekend... Saturday begins with periods of rain and may have off and on showers throughout the afternoon, Sunday... cloudy and windy, Monday... starting out cloudy with sunshine coming later in the day with breezes light.  New Moon is tomorrow... remember the Tides will be much higher than normal.

Hump Day Sloughing

Mornin'!  It's 52° in Wildwood NJ.   It feels like 46° with the windchill.  The island's still taking a beating as the winds out of the E-NE at 25-35mph +gusting have been having their way with the Coast since yesterday morning.  And, they'll continue to do so until at least tomorrow.  There are a list of warnings posted today... Small Craft Advisory, High Rip Current Risk and High Surf Advisory (8-10' waves).  We're experiencing some pretty good beach erosion at the North end especially with high tide upon us.  The ocean's rip roaring with these intense, relentless winds which are chopping away at the beach and removing all the new sand replenishment.  There's a sand cliff forming once again. By the way, that "high" rip current risk impacts anyone in the ocean.  It's dangerous for swimming and surfing.  Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water.
Our current weather is... we're under hazy cloud cover (no sunshine this morning) as the mist and sand is giving the island a nice sloughing thanks to the wind.  Expect a mostly cloudy day with a high of 57,  and windy (20-25mph +gusting). Tonight... mostly cloudy, low around 49°, E-NE winds at 20-25mph +gusting. Tomorrow... partly sunny and high near 58° with calmer winds if you think Easterly winds at 15-20mph are calm.  Friday and Saturday still look like a pretty decent chance of rain.  Sunday and Monday look partly sunny with temps in the mid-upper 60s.  Friday's the New Moon which has the same effects as a Full Moon as far as the tides go... much higher and lower than usual.  And,
with rain heading our way, we could see tidal flooding at the end of the week.  Just saying.

Windy and Cloudy

Mornin'!  It's 54° in windy Wildwood NJ.  Ms Sun's up (surprisingly and temporarily).  The winds are out of the NE at 25-30mph +gusting.  It feels more like 44° outside this morning.  The geese were just flying over squawking when I stepped out onto the back porch to check my hanging thermometer.  The local seagulls were chiming in as well.  It felt good to be outside in the midst of all the island birds as well as those gusty, salty winds this early morn.
It'll become mostly cloudy today.  Expect cloudy (today looks like peeks of sun every now and then), very blustery conditions as temps just about tap 60°.  NE winds will be 25-35mph +gusts of up to 50mph.  There's a "high surf" advisory posted until this time tomorrow night.  That means dangerous Rip Currents along with 7-9 foot waves.  Tonight... cloudy and windy back to around 50° with E-NE winds at 25-35mph+gusting.  Tomorrow... a repeat of today.

Gray Week Ahead

Mornin'!  It's 55° in Wildwood NJ.  We're under cloudy, windy, slightly wet conditions.  It rained lightly very early this morning (not at the moment though) but we've got wet surfaces and moisture blowing around out there.  Winds are out of the E-NE at 15-20mph.  It's miserable and perfect for a Corona-Virus Monday.  All Mondays should have this kind of weather.  Mondays seemed even worse with picture perfect  weather (especially when heading to work).  It's something I've felt and said my entire life for what reason is beyond me other than just loathing Mondays the most out of all weekdays.  Since retirement and now social distancing, every day of the week as well as the weekend all seem the same as they run into one another and almost seem impossible to identify at times.
Anyway... expect a perfect "Monday" weather day with cloud cover, winds (NE at 25-35mph) and rain showers (mostly developing this afternoon) and temps in the high 50s.  Rain... 30% chance.  Tonight... cloudy and windy with temps in the low-50s and NE winds at 20-30mph +gusting.  Not much in the line of rain tonight or for the next 3 days for that matter.  Tomorrow... cloudy and windy.  Wednesday... cloudy and windy.  Thursday... cloudy and windy.  Friday... rainy and windy.  Saturday... rain and windy.  Sunday... nice (finally).

Sunday Mix Of Sun And Clouds

Mornin'!  It's 58° in Wildwood NJ.  It's lovely outside.  It's on the cool side.  Ms Sun is shining.  It's a bit breezy with those salty winds off the ocean out of the East at 10-15mph.   Expect the clouds to roll on in and keep Ms Sun at bay with mostly cloudy conditions today.  She'll peek through but the clouds will win out according to the forecasts I've checked out.  Temps will just tap 60° with Easterly breezes kicking up at 10-20mph +gusting.  There is a 10% chance of a passing shower.  Tonight... mostly cloudy with a 20% chance of a rain shower.  Temps will drop into the low-50s with winds out of the E-NE at 10-20mph.  Tomorrow... cloudy, a high of 58° with 40% chance of rain (at least by late afternoon) as well as the winds ramping up even more out of the E-NE at 20-30mph+ gusting.  By the way, this week ahead is looking miserable; not complete washouts but mostly cloudy with rain in the forecast almost everyday.  Plus it'll be very windy due to this first tropical storm (Arthur) of the season off our east coast.  The temps are staying relatively cooler (in the 50s) as well.  Don't put the sweaters or windbreakers away yet!

Armed Forces Day and Mostly Summery Saturday

Courtesy of Wildwood365 - Photo of NW beach 5/15/20
Mornin'!  Happy Armed Forces Day!  All five of our military branches are honored today as the Nation salutes you for your service and our freedom.  I thank you!
It's 70° in Wildwood NJ.   It hasn't been in the 70s in the morning since October 2, 2019.  The Blog's a bit late.  And, it would be even later if the neighbors weren't so loud.  We're a packed neighborhood as all the island visitors are here gearing up for the upcoming summer season... "The Season Of Doom" as I can only think of it.  I'm sure subconsciously I was dreaming of that impending doom and had one of those Virus Wakeful Nights.  Thus... sleeping in a bit later today.
It's partly cloudy this morning as Ms Sun's trying to peek through.  It feels summery with winds light out of the N-NW at 5-7mph.  It'll be a mainly sunny start then a few afternoon clouds drift on in making it partly cloudy.  Temps will be in the low-mid 70s with E-NE winds at 10-15mph.  Tonight... Partly cloudy with 20% chance of a shower as temps drop into the low-50s with E-SE winds at 5-10mph.  Tomorrow... mostly cloudy with 20% chance of rain and a high of 59° and Easterly winds at 10-20mph.  Monday... considerable cloudiness with 50% chance of rain.

It's Friday!

Mornin'!  It's 62° in Wildwood NJ.  We've got cloud cover with light breezes out of the W-SW at 8-11mph.  Ms Sun rose about a half an hour ago but the clouds are the main characters this early morn.  We're going to have a mild, pleasant day with a mix of clouds and sun.  Temps will reach the low-70s!  Breezes will ramp up from the SW at 15-25mph.  Tonight... clear to partly cloudy.  Temps back to where they are now (low-60s) and SW breezes still checked in at a blustery 15-25mph.  Tomorrow... almost the same as today but a bit cloudier and less blustery.  Sunday... cloudy and cooler.

The City of Wildwood discussed the beach and boardwalk rules as of late and as of this week, visitors are allowed on the boardwalk to exercise and the beach to sit and relax.  The Town is taking measures to keep people safe.  They've added a cycled message on the public address system reminding visitors to practice social distancing.  This message will be on a 15 minute cycle and can be heard through-out the entire Wildwood boardwalk.  In addition, Ambassadors will be on the boardwalk reminding folks about social distancing if they see groups starting to form.  Also, police will be on the boardwalk helping to enforce the 6-foot rule.  Off the boardwalk and on to the beach... since the beaches are big enough for people to practice the 6-foot rule without too much difficulty, the City believes that visitors are educated enough to know how to distance themselves while on the beach. Good luck with that.  The only places allowed to be open are food businesses as The Wildwoods are waiting on Governor Phil Murphy to announce the opening of stores, playgrounds, arcades and amusement parks which all remain closed. Here are some of the opening dates for local eating establishments.
http://wildwoodvideoarchive.com/wildwood-restaurants-opening-dates/
Personally, I'm just reporting this news and do not condone it.  With warm weather on the way, it's only a matter of time until the streets, boardwalk and beaches become much more congested with 6-foot rule folks as our sleepy little town wakes up and this crowded scenario scares me.  Currently when out and about, seeing face masks worn or social distancing is rare. We've had 39 deaths in our county so far and I can only imagine how the number may climb after the housebound folks travel to the coast and begin interacting with one another starting this weekend.

Beautiful Thursday

Morey's Raging Waters Water Park - Summer 2019
Mornin'!  It's 50° in Wildwood NJ.  It's clear and bright as Ms Sun rose over the horizon about a half an hour ago.  There are S-SE breezes barely there at 2-3mph.  The island birds are as happy as clams.  Once again, it's a perfectly lovely Spring morning.  Expect another nice day as we have beautiful weather on tap.  Temps will get into the low-mid 60s with plenty of sunshine.  Winds will begin to ramp up out of the S-SE at 10-20mph.  Tonight... a few clouds roll on in giving us a 20% chance of a shower with temps dropping just a bit into the mid-upper 50s.  S-SE winds will switch from the S-SW at 10-20mph.  Tomorrow... sunny, tapping 70°.  The weekend's looking okay with Saturday being the nicer day with a mix of sun and clouds as temps tap 70°. Sunday will have a mix of clouds and sun (more clouds than sun though) and cooler temps.

Mornin'!  It's 46° in Wildwood NJ.  Ms Sun's about to rise and shine, breezes are barely there out of the N-NE at 2-5mph.  Even the Moon is out this early morn.  The island birds are up and so am I.  I  think the birds woke me as I slept with the windows slightly opened.  It'll be a lovely hump day with plentiful sunshine and breezes out of the E-NE shifting to the S-SE at 10-15mph.  Tonight... clear, low of 49° and Southerly breezes at 5-10mph.  Tomorrow... more clouds rolling in with a high of 63° and breezes much like yesterday (10-20mph).

Monday Mix

Mornin'!  It's 54° in Wildwood NJ.  We're under some amazing cloud cover at the moment as Ms Sun's painting the sky much like a Rembrandt landscape.  These thick shoreline clouds are putting on quite a show.  It's lovely this morning as breezes are barely there out of the W-SW at 6-10mph along with that marshy saltiness is in the air, and of course the island birds chirping and squawking everywhere. There's a 30% chance of morning showers as clouds begin to clear out, sunshine takes over and temps rise into the low-60s.  Winds will of course ramp up out of the West at 20-30mph Tonight... mostly clear, gusty winds (NW 20-30mph) diminishing after midnight with near record low temps... low-mid 40s.  Tomorrow... sunny and high near 60° again.

Mother's Day! (Today's Photos are all from old time Wildwood shots with my Mom)

Mom and me getting our sunburns on
Mornin'!  It's 44° in Wildwood NJ with Ms Sun shining big time this morning.  Happy Mother's Day to all the Mom's out there!  Today's seashore weather looks pretty perfect for Mother's Day.  It'll be sunny with temps just about tapping 60°.  Breezes are currently out of the W-SW at 13-16mph and will stay out of that direction probably ramping up to 15-20mph today.  Tonight... mostly clear skies will give way to cloud cover and occasional rain showers late tonight into the overnight (40% chance).  Temps will drop into the low-50s with S-SW winds at 15-25mph.  Tomorrow... decreasing cloudiness as Ms Sun makes every effort to shine.  There is a 20% chance of a shower with winds becoming stiffer at 20-30mph +gusting out of the West.  Today's a keeper that's for sure (at least as Spring is concerned... as there are 42 days until Summer)!

Blustery Sunny Saturday

Mornin'!  It's 38° in Wildwood NJ.  Ms Sun's up and trying to warm things up as that winter feel began sneaking in during the overnight.  Winds are creating havoc from the NW at 20-25mph +gusting making it feel like 29°!  It's crazy out there.  I covered my outdoor plants and even brought a few inside before turning in and everything appears A-OK.  The parsley and cilantro are especially loving this seashore chill.  Expect a mix of sun and clouds today with temps climbing and hitting the 50s.  Those W-NW winds aren't going anywhere and will be checked in until tomorrow at 20-30mph +gusting.  Tonight... partly cloudy, windy and temps in the low-40s.  Tomorrow... sunny, temps tapping 60° with W-SW winds at 10-20mph.  Monday... mostly cloudy, 20% chance of rain showers with temps in the upper 50s - low 60s.

TGIF

Irish Fall Festival - North Wildwood
Mornin'!  It's 53° in Wildwood NJ.  Ms Sun's up and shining down.  Breezes are light out of the W-SW at 6-8mph.  The island birds are chirping and squawking welcoming the day.  It's lovely.  It's also the calm before the storm.  There's a winter storm headed right for the Northeast area of the US.  Unlike the Great Lake region and the Northern part of New York who may get snow (you read that correctly) tonight into tomorrow, we will probably just get rain.  But, that all begins tonight and I'm getting ahead of myself.
Today... sunny start with clouds rolling in and increasing to total cloudiness by this afternoon with 50% chance of rain showers.  Temps should hit the 60s.  Winds will ramp up today still out of the SW at 15-20mph.  Now, tonight... 90% chance of rain as winds increase even more... W-NW at 20-30mph + gusting as temps drop into the mid-upper 30s.  I'd be thinking about any young, tender seedlings or plants outside and put them in a safer, warmer space like the garage, shed, laundry room or somewhere out of the very cold, blustery elements.  An option is to cover them (tarps, sheets, frost blanket etc) as well.  Tomorrow... sunny and windy with temps only in the upper 40s feeling much colder with the windchill and the very blustery conditions.  It certainly won't feel like Spring.  Sunday... almost 60° with less windy conditions.

Full Moon Thursday!

Mornin'!  It's 51° in Wildwood NJ.  Ms Sun couldn't be shining any brighter.  Winds are relatively light out of the NW at 10-12mph.  There's a Full Moon today with tides much higher than normal as it's high tide now (8:00am) and at least for another hour on the marsh side of the island (it's always an hour later than the ocean side).  Expect a lovely sunny day with vivid blue, cloudless skies and temps in the low-60s.  Winds will be out of the W-NW at 10-20mph.  Tonight... a few passing clouds with temps back down into the low-50s and W-SW winds at 10-20mph.  Tomorrow... early spotty clouds followed by increasing cloud cover and showers developing by the afternoon (50% chance).  Temps will be like today... low-60s and breezy.  The weekend looks cold and blustery on Saturday with a windchill in the low-mid 30s.  Sunday looks a tad warmer in the low-50s with a windchill in the mid-40s.  Guess the furnace gets fired back up this weekend!  Oh... you might want to think about how you're going to cover those tiny plants and seedlings this weekend.

Gray Hump

Mornin'!  It's 51° in Wildwood NJ.  Happy Hump Day! We're under cloud cover with a lot of dampness in the air.  Almost feels misty.  Breezes are out of the East at 10-15mph.  It'll be a cloudy morning with a chance of showers (50% chance) beginning this afternoon.  Temps will stay right about where they are now.  Winds will be out of the E-NE at 10-20mph.  Tonight... 20% chance of precipitation with temps dropping to the mid-40s and Northerly winds at 10-20mph.  Tomorrow... back to sunshine with temps in the low-60s and W-NW winds at 10-20mph.  At this time, the weekend's looking much cooler with Saturday's temp only a high of 45° and blustery, while Sunday will be sunny and in the mid-50s.  The Full Moon is tomorrow and we're likely to see the moonrise with the clear skies at 8:27PM.  Remember though that the tides will be much higher and lower than normal and we could experience some tidal flooding on the low-lying areas.

Cinco De Mayo!!!

Mornin'!  It's 50° in Wildwood NJ.  Happy Cinco De Mayo! Red sky in the morning! This morning's colorful sky was just spectacular with shades of red, coral, crimson, pink, and of course sangria!  It made me think of The "Red Sky" restaurant which was one of my favorite places to enjoy a terrific Mexican dinner in Upper Township/Seaville area which closed its doors several years ago.  Shame... I still miss it.  Today's annual celebration is due to the Battle of Puebla being won by the Mexicans over the French in 1862.  It's been giving Americans an excuse to load up on tacos, tequila and margaritas and is celebrated by more Americans than folks in Mexico.  Obviously not this year.
We're currently under cloud cover while Ms Sun is doing her best to paint the clouds .  Breezes are light out of the NW at 6-8mph.  Expect a mix of clouds and sun this morning giving way to a  mostly cloudy day.  Temps will just about tap 60° with W-NW breezes at 10-15mph.  Tonight... still cloudy with 10% chance of a shower or two.  Temps will drop into the upper 40s with S-SE breezes at 10-15mph.  Tomorrow... more gray skies with 50% chance of rain and temps in the low-50s.
My tortillas, salsa, avocados, limes and cilantro to name a few things are in the house!  I'm ready to enjoy the taste of Cinco De Mayo with hubby later!

Sunny Monday

Mornin'!  It's 61° in Wildwood NJ.  Ms Sun is trying to break through all that leftover cloud cover this morning.  Everything's soaked from the overnight thunderstorms and pouring down rains.  Birds are chirping everywhere.  Breezes are barely there... W-NW at 3-5mph.  It's feeling humid and a bit sticky outside this morning.  Expect a mostly clear day after Ms Sun makes it through these leftover clouds.  Temps will just about tap 70° with afternoon winds significantly picking up out of the NW at 20-30mph+gusting.  Tonight... clear to partly cloudy with temps dropping into the upper 40s and N-NW winds at 15-25mph.  Tomorrow... a mix of clouds and sun in the morning followed by clouds the remainder of the day with a high of 56° and winds not as stiff as today.

Sunday Weather Mix

Mornin'!  It's 57° in Wildwood NJ. We're under thick cloud cover and within the last hour, we had a light rain shower.  I slept with the bedroom windows open and it was nice waking to the sound of gentle rain falling.  Breezes are barely there out of the SW at 3-5mph.  It seems the island birds are happy with this morning's weather as they're certainly breaking the morning silence. Even with this dampness, it's lovely outside as you can smell and hear the surf.  We're headed for a mixed bag today.  There's 80% chance of showers in the morning with winds out of the W-SW at 10-15mph.  Temps are going to climb into the low-70s.  Later this morning and into the aftenoon and this evening the clouds remain checked in with a 50% chance of rain showers off and on.  Tonight... 57° with W-SW winds at 10-15mph and 50% chance of showers.  My guess by looking at a few comparison forecasts for Wildwood, we'll probably have a mostly cloudy day, light drizzles off and on with even the possibility of peeks of sun.  It will definitely not be a washout.  Tomorrow... mostly sunny with gusty winds (NW at 20-30mph) and temps in the low-mid 60s.

Lovely Spring Day Down The Shore

Mornin'!  It's 54° in Wildwood NJ.  Ms Sun just rose over the horizon.  Her sunrise... simply beautiful.  It's clear with breezes out of the N-NW at 7-9mph.  Dawn seems like perfection today.  The aroma of the sea along with the island birds waking is magical as the dark sky brightens and the coast becomes illuminated.  It'll be a lovely day as well with plentiful sunshine, temps in the mid-upper 60s and W-NW breezes at 10-15mph.  Tonight... clouds begin to roll on in becoming overcast and cloudy late.  There's a slight chance of a shower tonight as well (20% chance). Temps will drop to where they are now... mid-50s with S-SW winds at 10-20mph.  Tomorrow... waking to clouds with a 30% chance of rain followed by intermediate breaks of clouds and peeks of sun off and on throughout the morning and afternoon.  50% chance of showers tomorrow night.

Happy May Day!

There's a 20% chance of a rain shower this morning as well as this afternoon.  Otherwise, partly sunny today with a high near 65°.  Winds will be out of the N-NWest at 10-15mph with some gusts as high as 20mph.  Tonight... partly cloudy, 30% chance of showers, temps dropping to the low-50s and winds out of the West at 15-20mph.  Tomorrow... a sunny day with temps in the mid-upper 60s and not as windy.  Sunday... much like today with 30% chance of rain showers.  So here we are in May... Happy May Day!  Today is usually a public holiday celebrated by many different countries and cultures around the world... a day of unity, togetherness and rebirth.  A day for everyone to celebrate life.  50 days until Summer.
