Happy Halloween~

Mornin'! Happy Halloween! It's currently 59 degrees in WW with sunny, blue skies. It'll stay mostly sunny with temps in the mid-upper 60's today. Breezes will be back at 15-20 mph from the WSW a little later today; for now...there's a gentle 5mph breeze bringing in this Halloween Sunday. For the island trick or treaters...perfect Halloween Weather...temps in the 50's tonight after the sun goes down. High tide:2:42p.m.; Low tide: 8:24a.m.; Ocean temp: 62 degrees. Have fun my little pretties!

Happy Halloween Weekend!

Mornin'! It's "Hallows-Eve" and you know what that means...a little dress-up and/or mischief tonight. It's starting out seasonably cool this morning at 49 in WW. A light NW 7mph breeze is wafting over the island as I blog. The breeze will be creating a bit of mischief as it turns to winds later coming from the W-SW at 10-20mph. Temps are heading to the mid-upper 60's not to mention the sun will be joining us throughout most of the day. As temps head up, heads will be tempted to have some makeup put on them as well I think! High tide:1:30p.m.; Low tide:7:12a.m.; Ocean temp: 64 degrees. Sounds like a perfect autumn day as well as a dress up night in WW! See you out there!

Autumn Chill is back!

Mornin'! It's 55 degrees in WW this morning with clear, starlit skies and not much breeze to speak of, although it's coming. Sun is due up in about an hour and with it comes warmer temps as we'll hit the upper 50's and may see 60 degrees by this afternoon. It'll be partly sunny most of the day. Winds will pick up and begin gusting at 15-25mph from the NW. Hang on to your witch hats. It's looking like a repeat tomorrow and a decent Halloween weekend. High tide: 12:27p.m.; Low tide:7:17p.m.; Ocean temp:65 degrees.

Last of the Indian Summer Days!

Mornin'! It'll be an autumn beauty with another taste of summer today in WW. It's currently 66 degrees with blue, sunny skies. There are light clouds barely hiding the sun, but it's warm and sunny nevertheless. The weatherfolk are saying that it will be partly cloudy most of the day so I'm going to assume the clouds will be making every effort to take the brightness out of the day. I'm thinking it will be more on the "partly sunny" side. A warm westerly breeze at 10-15mph will be keeping us warm as well. Temps will reach mid-upper 70's. Nice one for sure. High tide:11:29a.m.; Low tide:6:17p.m.; Ocean temp: 64 degrees. Beach day? I'd get it in as the weather will be changing tomorrow.

Windy Wet Wednesday!

Mornin'! Sally's not selling seashells down by the seashore today. Although the little gift shop at Sunset beach in Cape May certainly sells great seashells all year long. Not sure if there's a Sally working there though. Just thought I'd start with a little "alliteration" this morning and started getting carried away. Sorry 'bout that. On to the weather...it's currently 68 degrees, breezy (out of the SW at 10-20mph) and misty. Everything's damp...that's including the bed pillow, bedroom rug, my slippers, me...all because the windows were open allowing the damp sea air to waft in all night long. But hey...one can't get enough sea air in my opinion; it'll dry. It'll be mostly cloudy, overcast, misty and at times raining today. We may get a peek of sun later as well, but my bets are on a gray day. You know the kind...A San Francisco day. It'll reach the mid-upper 70's. High tide: 10:39a.m.; Low tide:5:23p.m.; Ocean temp: 64degrees.

Mild Wildwood

Mornin'! It's currently 68 degrees as WW wakes up under mostly cloudy skies. The moon is trying to glow, but is somewhat obscured and has that Halloween look. The rains never came overnight and there's still a 40% chance of an isolated thunderstorm today; 70% chance tomorrow. We'll continue to have a couple days of a mix of clouds and sun and possible rain, but looks like things will clear up as we sail into the weekend. I'll be watching...don't need the Halloween makeup running or smearing. Temps will remain mild and on the warm side as we'll probably hit the 70 mark again today. Wildwood's having Indian Summer! Winds S-SW at 10-20mph. High tide: 9:56a.m.; Low tide: 4:34p.m.; Ocean temp: 63 degrees.

Mild Monday

Mornin'! It's 67 in WW this morning. In the morning darkness, the moon is brightening things up a bit and you can see big puffy clouds through the skylight. There's not much of a breeze out there now, but it'll be heading this way from the S-SW at 10-20mph. Temps will rise into the 70's today, but the clouds will thicken and by late this afternoon/early evening the chance of rain is 60% and we could get some thunder boomers with gusty rains. Rains could continue overnight as well. The Mums could use a watering. And, I'm not talking about the mothers of the world! I'm thinking an umbrella could be just the ticket today. High tide:9:17a.m.; Low tide:3:50p.m.; Ocean Temp: 63 degrees.

Sunday WarmUp

Mornin'! Before you know it, I'll have written enough weather posts for an entire year; only 65 more days to go and almost the same as the air and ocean temperature this morning. Air temp is a nice crisp 64 degrees and Ocean temp is 63. Let's get to it as today's is a beautiful one for shore. No pun intended. WW will have mostly blue skies and be warm today as the temperature rises into the 70's. Breezes out of the SW at 12-15mph. It'll be a perfect warm Indian Summer day with a bit of the full moon leftover. High tide: 8:42a.m; Low tide: 3:10p.m. Great day to be out and about; enjoy as the rains are heading back this way tomorrow.

Wildwood's Warming Up!

Mornin'! Looks like a beautiful weekend in WW as the sun and warmer temperatures will definitely be present this weekend. It's currently 46 chilly degrees with no breeze. The breezes will blow in later from the WSW at 10-15mph but will stay mostly sunny with temps in the high 60's and it may even hit 70. It's definitely going to hit the 70's tomorrow! (perhaps a beach day?) High tide: 8:07a.m.; Low tide:2:31p.m.; Ocean temp: 62 degrees. Happy Birthday Jim! And, Go Phillies!

Happy "Fall-like" Friday

Mornin'! Looking like a perfect Fall day in WW. It's currently 56 degrees and won't get much warmer than that today; although the sun is expected within the hour and that will help warm things up. It's dry, clear, chilly, quiet and although dark outside...the full moon is brightening the island. Winds will appear later out of the NW at 15-25mph. The harvest moon will rise at 5:40p.m. today. High tide:7:31a.m.; Low tide: 1:52p.m.; Ocean temp: 64 degrees. The ocean should feel warm with the 50+ air temp today. The weekend will have warmer temperatures, although the autumn breezes will be sticking around. Wildwood's welcoming our 1st County Western Weekend. Say that fast five times! Yeehaw!

So-long Rain!

Mornin'! Looks like we'll see the sun today as the rains may be hitting the road. Thursday will begin with cloud cover as the sun begins its 4 day visit. It's currently 54 degrees, cloudy and very still in WW this morning as dawn creeps in. Breezes will begin to creep in as well as they'll be gusting from the WSW at 18-20mph. Seems like the Autumn breezes don't take too kindly to the beautiful display of colorful trees in our area. Temps will rise into the mid-60's today. Full moon is tomorrow. The Harvest Moonrise will be 5:40p.m. tomorrow. Yet, you can probably see a preview today at 5:12p.m. High tide: 6:58a.m.; Low tide: 1:14p.m.; Ocean temp: 64 degrees.

Wet Wednesday

Mornin'! It's currently 53 degrees in WW as daybreak is still over an hour away. It'll be staying close to the 60 degree mark most of the day. Looking like the coast including WW will have its share of damp, dreary, duck weather today. There's a 60% chance of rain most of the day into early this evening. Light 8-10 mph breeze out of the NW and later from the SE. Best day so far this week is looking like Saturday. Nice. High tide today:2:36p.m.; Low tide:11:51a.m; Ocean temp: 65 degrees.

Tuesday, October 19, 2010

Morning drizzles

Mornin'! It's 52 degrees in WW as it's drizzling even before daybreak. Rains will continue throughout most of the morning and some breaks of sun will be seen through the clouds by this afternoon. Temps will rise into the 60's and the breezes will be out of the NW at 10mph. High tide:2:36p.m.; Low tide:11:51a.m.; Ocean temp: 65degrees.

Monday, October 18, 2010

Back to the Grind Monday

Mornin'! It's currently 45 degrees in WW. It's very still outside in the morning darkness and doesn't feel that chilly. The sun along with a light breeze will be coming along later from the NW at 6-8mph and won't feel as blustery as it has been. Temperature will rise into the mid 60's today and be mostly sunny with clouds entering the scene as rain is on the way tonight...30% chance that is, plus that percentage increases for the next two days. Full Harvest Moon is this week (Friday). High tide: 5:05p.m.; Low tide:10:58a.m.; Ocean temp: 63degrees.

Hey Miss Sun!

Mornin'! "It won't be long before the morning has you back in my arms!" "It's gonna be a bright, bright, sun-shiny day" when Miss Sun appears in this still, dark, quiet, clear morning. Feeling a bit lyrical this morning. It's currently 45 degrees and finally quietness prevails over the island as the roaring winds have skipped town for a bit. Temps will rise into the mid-upper 60's and a breeze (out of the NW) will return a bit later at 15-20mph. High tide: 4:28p.m.; Low tide: 10:14a.m.; Ocean temp: 63 degrees. Real good chance I could be "Lazin' on this sunny afternoon" as "Sunshine on my shoulders makes me happy." "Here comes the sun" and "As long as I gaze on a Wildwood sunset, I am in paradise" because "Sunshine on the water looks so lovely" and "Sunshine almost always make me high". Oh...I can see clearly now...the eyes rolling that is. Ha!

More Bluster

Mornin'! Happy Weekend! Go Phillies! It's currently 55 degrees in WW this morning. Looking very good as the sun rises...the skies are brightening up beautifully with bright shades of color on the horizon. It will be sunny, cool,(in the low 60's) dry and blustery in WW today! Winds (notice I'm not saying breezes) are out of the NW at 20-30 mph sustained and you can hear those bad boys wafting down the streets howling with gusts of 40+ mph. That bluster is also keeping the ocean from having breaking waves...weird how it looks like a lake out there. Not a good day for Contact Lens wearers out on the island twisting away with Chubby Checker and Joey Dee either. I don't have to tell you it's a bad hair day not to mention the beach sand will be giving everyone a nice facial sloughing today. High tide: 3:35p.m.; Low tide:9:16a.m.; Ocean temp: 65 degrees (coming down). Good luck Phils!

TGIF and GO PHILLIES!

Mornin'! So much for Fall Foliage as the 40mph gusts of wind are taking care of it this weekend. It's currently 52 degrees in WW and will be dry and sunny with 40mph gusts of wind throughout today and tomorrow. Sustained winds will be coming out of the west at 20-24mph. Temps will be in the mid-upper 60's. I'd label the next two days as a cool, clear, blustery, Autumn days. I'm not sure how much the tree foliage can take, but the leaves have begun to display their colorful show and they're no match for these gusts today and tomorrow. High tide: 2:36p.m.; Low tide: 8:12a.m.; Ocean temp: 67 degrees. Good luck Phils!

Wet Weather's due in WW today

Mornin'! Going to get wet in WW today. Rain is predicted today over the area and will begin around 2p.m. For now, it's a dry start with clear, star-filled, pre-dawn skies. Temp is 55 degrees and will go into the mid-60's as the clouds begin to roll across the island. Those clouds will bring along stiff breezes and rain (80% chance) and even the possibilities of thunderstorms. The forecasters are predicting close to an inch of rain by tonight. I'm thinking bypass the sandals and pull out the boots today. There will be an easterly breeze at 15mph, but by later tonight they shift out of the west at 25mph. Tomorrow (and Saturday)...the sun will begin to present itself but the star attraction along with Chubby Checker will be major winds...get ready for gusts up to 40mph. For today...High tide:7:07a.m.; Low tide:1:33p.m.; Ocean temp: 68 degrees. The ocean's going to have that angry look later today...who doesn't love that?

Fallish Feel Today

Mornin'! Happy Hump Day! It's currently 57 degrees in WW as the star-lit sky (the Big Dipper greeted me through the skylight this morning) is just waiting for Dawn to take over this morning. It'll be cooler today with a clear, sunny, fallish feel to the day. Temps will be in the low-mid 60's with breezes coming from the North at 10mph; then from the East later. Leaves on the trees have begun their show of color. Every now and then, the aroma of wood burning can be smelled along with the sea air. It certainly appears that today will have that "Fallish Feel". High tide: 12:32p.m.; Low tide:7:09p.m.; Ocean temp: 67 degrees. The weekend's looking much like today but breezier. Tomorrow...pack an umbrella. Photos: same photo, but what a difference a weather day makes.

Twelth of Tuesday

Mornin'! WW's very wet and still and quiet outside this morning. It's 66 degrees (same as the ocean temp) with not one breeze. Wet leaves are laying on the ground from the overnight rain and thunderstorms as nature provided a strob-light show while WW slept. Well..that is most of WW as I was awakened and got to see some of the show. Temps will rise into the 70's again today. It will be partly sunny as clouds may enter the mix as there's 30% chance of rain today. Right now though the skies are clear and star-filled as it's the darkest before dawn and doesn't appear cloudy as sunrise is less than an hour away. Breezes will come later from the NNE at 6-10mph. High tide:11:38a.m.; Low tide:5:55p.m. Looking good to be out and about today...at least partly.

Happy Columbus Day!

Mornin'! It's another beauty in Wildwood. Currently 64 degrees with stillness outside as WW welcomes the somewhat obscured by clouds sunrise. I can hear birds everywhere welcoming the day as I blog. It'll be another sunny, warm, dry day at the shore as temps rise into the 70's again as the breezes will be minimal from the NW at 6-8mph. There's a chance of a thunderstorm this evening after 11p.m. High tide: 10:43a.m.; Low tide: 5:04p.m.; Ocean temp still at 66 degrees. Yet another beach day!!!

10-10-10

Mornin'! It's 53 in WW this crisp, bright, clear, autumn morning. It's a tad nippy in the house this 10th of October with all the windows cracked just a bit. There are no curtains moving as the breezes outside are minimal. Smell of coffee brewing is a perfect accompaniment to the beautiful sunrise as I blog smiling away. It was perfect yesterday as it was a beach day along with a sunset sail. Life doesn't get any better than that in my opinion. It looks like today and tomorrow could be more beach days as well. The temps will rise into the 70's as the skies remain clear, sunny and cloudless and of course dry. Breezes will be out of the SW later today at 10mph. Ocean temp is still do-able...66 degrees. High Tide: 9:51a.m.; Low Tide:4:14p.m.

Saturday, October 9, 2010

Same as yesterday

Mornin'! I could pretty much cut and paste yesterday's weather forecast into today's as everything I've researched is almost exactly the same. It's currently 57 degrees (same) with no breeze (same) and will be sunny, dry and warm (same) with temperatures reaching lo-mid 70's (same) and a breeze kicking in later of 10-15mph (same). Ocean temp is 66 degrees (same). The tides aren't quite the same...High tide:9:04a.m.; Low tide:3:26p.m. And, the most important fact not the same is I'll be on the beach and not in an office!

An Incredibly Nice Friday

Mornin'! And a good looking morning it is. Even in the darkness, I can see the sky beginning to form layers of color as the sun's making its Friday morning debut on the horizon. There's not a cloud in the sky. It's currently 57 degrees in WW with no breeze to speak of. It'll be a warm, dry, sunny day as we head into the weekend. Temps will rise to 75 degrees and breezes will be out of the West at 10-15mph. High tide:8:16a.m.; Low tide:2:34p.m.; Ocean temp: 66 degrees. The weekend's looking pretty much the same and call me crazy, but I'm thinking some beach days! (Today's photo is the same beach shot from Tuesday's photo...quite a difference I'd say!)

Sunny Skies

Mornin'! It's currently 55 degrees in WW and will be sunnier and breezier today. It'll be one of those days where the skies are amazingly vivid blue with big marshmallow clouds quickly moving over the island as the winds create quick moving cloud sculptures. Those westerly winds will be 15-25mph with gusts of 30mph. Temps will rise near 70 degrees. No rain predicted. High tide: 7:28a.m.; Low tide:1:42p.m.; Ocean temp: 66 degrees. Ocean's getting nippier and just about the same temp as July 2009. Remember that? Brrrrr. Tomorrow may feel like a summer day and the weekend's looking not too shabby either. Footnote: it's almost 2p.m. and there hasn't been one cloud in the skies over WW yet today; not one, just beautiful blue sky overhead. So much for a gusty, cloudy day.

Cool Hump Day

Mornin'! It's kind of chilly in WW this morning as the porch thermometer is saying 48 degrees. I'm thinking the outdoor deck/porch plants should be coming inside very soon; although the lettuce has seeded itself and little baby lettuce sprouts are beginning to grow. The skies look clear yet the dark clouds are obscuring the horizon and not allowing that morning sunrise to show itself. That's okay...the sun will finally show itself beginning today, warming things up a bit and be prevelant right through the holiday weekend. There will still be big puffy clouds throughout alot of this humpday though as temps climb up to the low-mid 60's. And the weather folk are still predicting a 30% chance of showers later this evening. Autumn is in the air. A breeze will be felt later (there's a 2mph breeze as I type) coming from the W-SW at 10-15mph. High tide:6:58p.m.; Low tide:12:48p.m.; Ocean temp: 66 degrees.

Transition Tuesday

Mornin'! Today begins a bit of a transition in the weather as WW switches from raw, wet, blustery and chilly to drier, calmer and warmer weather. Today and tomorrow could be very similar as the day will begin with temps in the 50's (it's currently 54 degrees) and will head into the 60's staying around 62-64 both days. It will mostly cloudy and even have a light drizzle or two early in the day. We could even see some peeks of the sun. Remember the sun? Breezes are out of the West at 10-15mph. High tide:6:06p.m.; Low tide:11:52a.m.; Ocean temp:67 degrees. In a couple days the New Moon will create some tidal flooding so be aware of any water you want to avoid driving through. One thing is for certain, the recent angry sea has decided to take back some of our beach. RIP Jack Keenan.

Another Dreary Monday

Mornin'! Geez, Monday's are tough enough without the added dreary drama. WW's got it all today...blustery winds (up to 28mph out of the NW), clouds, showers, much cooler temperatures and not to mention a bad hair day. It's currently 52 degrees and will head into the mid 60's by this afternoon. It'll be a tough day for an umbrella with the winds acting out and howling the way they are, but perhaps a windbreaker with the hood up will do the trick. Whatever way you look at it, it'll be a dramatic dreary weather day. High tide:5:04p.m.; Low tide:10:58a.m.; Ocean temp:69degrees.

Sunny Sunday Morning

Mornin'! The Sun's doing its best to get up and out this chilly autumn Sunday morning. It's currently 55 degrees in WW as the sun conflicts with the dark ominous clouds moving at a 15-20mph clip overhead. There's a Coastal Flood Advisory for later today as rains are expected by late this afternoon (70%) and could join the high tide (4:00p.m.) making a challenge for the inexperienced island dwellers. If you have any plans, I'd recommend doing them early in the day before the rains arrive. Don't drive through flooded streets as it's probably salt water and very damaging for the underside of your vehicle. Socks with sandals are not quite as accepted as in San Francisco, but it works for days like these. It's not looking very promising this week (sorry if you're a Vacationer) for comfortable, dry, sunny weather as the rains may be sticking around most of the week. But, the weather folk said the same thing last week and we missed that bullet; so you may want to consider taking the forecast not so seriously! You just never know, but you've been warned. By the way, Low tide is 9:57a.m. and Ocean temp: still warmer than the air at 70 degrees and still dippable. Wonder if that's a word?
