Mornin'! Happy Birthday to my Sister.  Today's weather entry is dedicated to you.  If it weren't for you, there would be no weather blog.  I can't thank you enough for opening weather reporting for me!
It's 43° in Wildwood NJ.  We're under cloud cover as the sky is gray and everything's soaked and drippy outside.  It's not raining and I'm not certain if it actually rained overnight.  I didn't hear rain hitting my roof or skylight but when I turned in, it was misty and foggy.  It's still that way.  Winds are barely there out of the NE at 5-8mph.  It'll stay this way as the clouds might open up as it could start raining this afternoon (40% chance).  Temps will be around 50° with Easterly winds at 5-10mph.  Tonight... 100% chance of rain, temps in the mid-40s and E-SE at 3-5mph.  Tomorrow... rain likely, temps around 50° with North winds at 10-20mph.  Tomorrow night... 40-60% chance of rain, temps in the mid-40s and N-NW winds at 10-20mph.  Good Friday looks good... sunny and windy with temps in the low-50s.  Saturday... partly sunny, temps in the mid-50s and Sunday... mostly cloudy with peeks of sun, temps in the upper 50s and NW winds at 10-15mph.

Let's Get This Over With March

Mornin'!  It's 52° in Wildwood NJ.  It feels like 48° due to the winds which are currently out of the SE at 20-25mph. There's a "Wind Advisory" posted until 8AM tomorrow.  It's raining at a decent clip and will continue to rain steadily until this evening. Throw in a "Full Moon" which is not until Monday but pulling on the tides now making them even higher than normal during this Saturday storm and you've got yourself a "Flood Watch" posted along the Coast.  It's time to be vigilant as there's a very strong possibility of some major flooding happening today.  Know your high tide times, (high tide is an hour later on the bay/marsh side of the island), low-lying areas, be careful where you park and leave your vehicle, don't drive through flood waters and you might want to keep the wellies by the door.
Expect rain (heavy at times) along with very strong winds today.  Temps will be in the mid-upper 50s with SE winds shifting from the W-SW at 25-35mph +gusting.  At least 1-2" of rain is expected.  Tonight... decreasing rain as the clouds pull away.  Temps will be in the low-30s with N-NW winds at 20-30mph +gusting.  Tomorrow... partly sunny with lots of cloud cover in the mix, temps in the upper 40's / low 50s with gusty winds out of the N-NE at 20-30mph +gusting.  Monday... mostly sunny, upper 40s and NE winds at 20-25mph.  Ending on a good note... Mornin'!  It's 33° in Wildwood NJ.  It feels like 25° with the NW winds at 20-25mph +gusting.  Ms Sun's up though and shining down on the island without a cloud in the sky!  We're going to have another blustery day with a mix of sun and clouds, temps in the mid-40s and NW winds at 20-30mph +gusting.  Tonight... clear sky, temps in the low-30s and North winds at 10-20mph.  Tomorrow... sunny with a few afternoon clouds, temps in the upper 40s and East winds at 10-15mph.  As for this coming Palm Sunday weekend, Saturday looks like a total washout with steady, heavy rainfall, temps in the mid-upper 50s and winds out of the S-SE at 20-30mph +gusting.  We'll no doubt see coastal flooding as the Full Moon is next Monday and has already begun pulling on the tides and creating much higher than normal tides.  Sunday... partly cloudy start with Ms Sun shining by late afternoon, temps in the upper 40s and still extremely windy.

Last Weekend Of Winter Is Upon Us

This Morning's Webcam Shot - North WW

Mornin'!  It's 59° in Wildwood NJ.  We're under cloud cover as Ms Sun is brightening and painting the sky but not quite getting through.  Winds are light out of the SW at 10-12mph.   It's really nice outside.  It's nice to be home and feeling the salty, briny air again.  I had a lovely mini-vacation visiting my friend in the beautiful countryside and mountains of Berks County in Hamburg PA (approx 200 miles away).  The weather there this week was just perfect with plentiful sunshine and warmer than usual temperatures.  I stayed an extra day and almost stayed another extra day!  I'm assuming Wildwood enjoyed some of that lovely weather.  To put it in perspective, when I left Hamburg/Reading PA area it was 80° and when I arrived home yesterday afternoon (around 4pm) it was a balmy, beautiful 70° here.  My hyacinths are blooming!  And, I slept with the windows open last night! With it being only 4 days away, Spring is certainly in the air everywhere.
Today will have considerable cloudiness with 40% chance of rain showers by later this afternoon.  Temps will be in the upper 60s with W-SW winds at 10-20mph.  Tonight... 50% chance of rain showers, temps dropping to the mid-40s and North winds at 10-15mph.  Tomorrow... partly sunny with some cloud cover in the mix, temps in the mid-50s and N-NW winds shifting to the South at 10-20mph. Tomorrow night... mostly clear, temps around 50° and winds out of the South at 10-15mph.  Sunday... a mix of clouds and sun, temps near 60° and variable winds at 10-15mph.  It doesn't look Wildwood will have any rain this St. Patrick's weekend.

Mild Temps Ahead This Week

Today's Webcam - North WW

Mornin'!  It's 41° in Wildwood NJ.  It feels like 31° with the W-NW winds at 27-32mph.  March is has been roaring for a couple days now.  And, I mean "roaring".  At times, seems more like a "howling".  Whatever... it's making its presence known, won't stop and is completely annoying.  The "wind advisory" should be lifted by tonight.  Ms Sun is now over the horizon but the clouds are mixed right in there and she's not quite shedding her light over the island.  We'll have a mix of sun and clouds today along with those raging winds.  Temps will be in the low-50s with W-NW winds at 25-35mph +gusting of up to 50mph.  Tonight... clear, temps in the low-40s with West winds at 20-30mph decreasing to 10-20mph +gusting.  Tomorrow... sunny, temps in the low-60s (no typo), winds out of the West at 10-20mph.  Wednesday... partly sunny, temps in the low-60s and West winds at 5-10mph.  Thursday... sunny, temps in the upper 50s and West winds at 5-10mph.  I'm heading out to visit a lifelong girlfriend today for a few days and I should be checking back in on Wednesday or Thursday.  If you're needing anything regarding the weather in Wildwood... click on Weather-Wunderground under my personal favs.  See ya on the other side!

Daylight Savings Time Is Here

Today's Webcam Shot - North WW
Mornin'!  It's Daylight Saving's Time!  If you didn't turn all those clocks ahead an hour before turning in last night, you've lost an hour and it's later than you think! Ms Sun rose at 7:17AM and she'll set at 7:01PM!!  It's 45° in Wildwood.  Ms Sun's shining brightly and it's a beautiful morning.  As the coffee's brewing, my husband's frying bacon and whistling "It's A Beautiful Morning".  And, it couldn't be a more beautiful morning if you ask me.  The winds are still whipping though out of the W-NW at 20-25mph +gusting making it feel more like 39°.  But, what do you want? It's March.
There are Advisories Posted today: Coastal Flood Advisory until noon today.  Be aware of the possibility of tidal flooding on the island especially in those low-lying areas as the high tide times as much higher than normal due to today's New Moon, a saturated island and those winds aren't helping.  There's a Gale Warning in effect until tomorrow at 6pm creating 6-9' seas as well as hazardous seas for any vessels out there. And, there's also a Wind Advisory until 8PM tomorrow.  Use extra caution when driving especially high profile vehicles.  Also, don't forget to hunker down (secure trashcans, outdoor furniture, etc).  We're going to have a mix of sun and clouds today with temps just about tapping 50°.  Winds will be stiff out of the W-NW at 25-35mph +gusting to over 40mph.  Tonight... partly cloudy and windy, temps in the upper 30s with W-NW winds at 25-35mph +gusts of up to 50mph.  Tomorrow... partly cloudy and windy, temps in the low-50s and W-NW winds at 25-35mph +gusting of up to 50mph.

Turn Those Clocks Ahead Tonight

Mornin'!  It's 43° in Wildwood NJ.  It feels like 37° with those Easterly winds at 20-25mph.  It's gray and misty but no rain showers yet.  They're coming though... expect rain showers this morning (90% chance) with winds out of the E-SE at 20-30mph.  Temps will rise into the low-50s with E-SE winds at 20-30mph all day into the evening.  In fact, tonight the winds will shift from the West at 25-35mph +gusting.  There's a 90% chance of rain tonight with temps in the low-mid 40s.  Tomorrow...  partly sunny / partly cloudy with temps in the upper 40s and West winds at 25-35mph +gusting.  Tomorrow night... partly clear, windy with W-NW winds at 25-35mph +gusting and temps in the low-40s.  Monday... partly clear, temps around 50° with winds still doing their March thing at 25-35mph.  Strap in!  Yesterday I mentioned those St. Patty's revelers.. oops, that's not until next weekend. But there are plenty of visiting folks here as the weekends always seem more inhabited this time of year. I'm sure that will be true next weekend big time.  And, speaking of weekends, next weekend  doesn't look too promising but I'm not a fan of weather being accurate a whole week away.  Remains to be seen.  Here's some reminders... before turning in tonight, turn the clocks forward an hour.  Tomorrow's sunrise and sunset will be looking later than normal.  We don't seem to be getting the rain as heavy as first forecasted today.  The big City and the Jersey towns (Millville, Vineland etc) seem to be getting more of a direct hit with heavy, steady rainfall. Nevertheless, be aware of the high tide times and remember the back of the island (marsh, bayside) is an hour later  for high tides than the ocean side.  Know your low-lying areas; especially where you park and don't drive through flood waters.  Be safe and see you on Daylight Saving's Time!

International Women's Day

Mornin'!  Happy International Women's Day!  It's 45° in Wildwood NJ.  It feels more like 38° with the windchill as winds are blowing out of the NE at 15-20mph.  We've got mostly cloudy skies but Ms Sun has been making her presence known and doing everything she can to break on through.  I've had a couple peeks shine through the front windows while typing this.  We going to have a day of mostly sunshine and blue sky with clouds mixed in from time to time as temps stay in the upper 40s/low 50s with E-NE winds at 10-20mph.  Tonight... more clouds than clear sky with temps in the low-40s and E-SE winds at 10-15mph.  Tomorrow... another miserable rainy day on tap (90% chance) with cloudy skies, periods of rain by mid-day, temps in the low-50s and E-SE winds at 15-25mph feeling more like 41°.  Tomorrow night... rain, temps around 50° and S-SE winds at 20-25mph +gusting.  Don't forget to turn your clocks forward one hour before turning in.  Sunday... partly sunny / partly cloudy, temps near 50° and wild West winds at 25-35mph +gusting.  Daylight savings time will kick off like the March Lion is supposed to.  Keep in mind... the New Moon is Sunday and the tides are already reacting to it but much higher than normal tides.  That'll make tomorrow even more miserable with some coastal flooding.  Be aware of those low-lying areas on the island.  To this weekend's St. Patty's revelers... be careful out there!

Ain't No Sunshine... ♫ ♪

This Morning's Webcam Shot - North WW
Mornin'!  It's 51° in Wildwood NJ.  We've got an abundance of cloud cover again, no rain coming down but we're completely saturated from all of yesterday's torrential rain.  In fact, my backyard (stone covered) is still filled with a couple inches of water. Winds are out of the N-NW at 10-15mph making it feel more realistically like 46°.  It's damp and raw outside and I couldn't help but think what kind of soup I'll be making today.  It'll be another gray day with cloudy skies, 20% chance of rain, temps in the low-mid 50s and North winds at 10-20mph.  Tonight... partly to mostly cloudy, temps in the low-40s and N-NE winds at 10-15mph.  Tomorrow... intervals of clouds and sun, temps in the upper 40s and E-NE winds at 10-20mph. Saturday... rain beginning by late morning, temps in the upper 40s and SE winds at 10-20mph.  (We turn the clocks ahead before turning in on Saturday night).  Sunday... Daylight Saving's Time kicks off the day along with a New Moon pulling on those high tides.  Expect a rainy start on Sunday, sunshine by afternoon, temps in the upper 40s/low 50s, and winds out of the West at 15-25mph.  Monday... March will be roaring with partly sunny skies and winds out of the W-NW at 25-35mph +gusting.  Tuesday... sunny with another blustery day on the forecasts.

The Rainy Systems Keep Comin'!

Mornin'!  It's 46° in Wildwood NJ.  Another gray start to the day.  It's on the misty/foggy side this morning. Something those heavy clouds provide is the roar of the ocean (a good 10 minute walk away).  I love that sound which isn't always distinct especially on a clear day.  Breezes are out of the E-NE at 5-10mph.  Looks like it'll be another wet day with 100% chance of rain showers, temps in the low-50s and East winds at 10-15mph.  1-2" of rain is expected which could bring about some localized flooding.  Tonight... occasional rain showers tapering into a few showers late tonight.  Temps will drop into the upper 40s with North winds at 5-10mph.  Tomorrow... cloudy, 25% chance of rain, temps in the mid-50s and North winds at 10-20mph.  Tomorrow night... cloudy, temps in the low-40s and E-SE winds at 5-10mph.  As for this weekend... Saturday will be cloudy with light rain turning to heavy rain Saturday night, temps around 50° and windy E-SE at 15-25mph; Sunday... cloudy and very windy (Westerly 20-30mph +gusting) along with temps in the low-50s as temps drop Sunday evening into the mid-30s and W-NW winds at 25-35mph +gusting.  Since we're once again in the path of another rain system (grateful it's not snow), we have a very probable chance of coastal flooding.  The New Moon is Sunday and will bring higher than normal tides during high tide times.  Be aware of the tide times, low-lying areas on the island and flood sirens.  Those sirens give time to move vehicles and make you aware of rising tide waters.  Don't park in flood-prone areas and don't drive through flood waters.

Tuesday Drearies

Mornin'!  It's 46° in Wildwood NJ.  We're saturated from the overnight heavy rainfall.  It's misty and breezy with winds out of the SE at 10-20mph.  It was quite a stormy night to say the least.  Not a peaceful night that's for sure.  As for a peaceful start to the day... there's a jackhammer knocking out someone's sidewalk a half block away.  The construction never seems to end here.  Seems like we're in for not only an ugly day but a noisy day here in the neighborhood.
It'll be an overcast, gray day with that white-looking sky, 20% chance of more rainfall, temps in the low-50s and S-SW winds at 10-20mph.  Tonight... cloudy, 25% chance of rain, temps in the mid-40s and South winds at 5-10mph.  Tomorrow... cloudy, 100% chance of rain (1-2" of rain expected), temps in the low-50s and E-NE winds at 10-15mph.  Thursday... rain, temps in the low-50s and windy with North winds at 10-20mph +gusting.

Wet Week In Wildwood Ahead

Mornin'!  It's 48° in Wildwood NJ.  We're under partly cloudy skies as Ms Sun's up and trying her best to shine on through.  Winds are out of the E-NE at 4-8mph.  It's a lovely morning down the Shore.  It'll be a mostly cloudy day with peeks of sunshine here and there but the clouds will thicken and take over the skies bringing rain by later this afternoon (40% chance).  Temps will get into the low-50s as these E-NE winds ramp up at 10-20mph.  Tonight... 90% chance of rain becoming even windier with winds out of the E-NE at 20-30mph.  Temps will go to where they are now... upper 40s.  Tomorrow... rain until mid-day with temps in the low-50s and winds out of the E-SE turning to the W-SW at 10-15mph.  Tomorrow night... mostly cloudy, temps in the upper 40s and SW winds at 5-10mph.  Wednesday... waking to rain as it's supposed to rain until Thursday afternoon, mild temps again... low 50s and Northerly winds at 10-15mph.  We might see Ms Sun again on Friday.  I still think March and April have switched spots on the weather calendar.

Beautiful Sunday

Mornin'!  It's 45° in Wildwood NJ.  Ms Sun's up and shining brightly without a cloud in the sky.  Breezes are light out of the W-NW at 5-8mph.  It's a chilly beauty this sunny Sunday morning.  There's that salty air surrounding us along with island birds making their presence known.  The seagulls are laughing.  The doves are cooing.  The little birds (starlings and sandpipers) are chirping excitedly.  Spring is in the air!  It'll not only sound like Spring today but it'll feel like it too with plentiful sunshine, temps in the upper 50s and West winds at 5-10mph.  Tonight... mostly clear, a few passing clouds, areas of patchy fog is possible as temps drop back into the low-40s with very light winds.  Tomorrow... a mix of sun and clouds early with clouds checking in later in the day, temps in the low-50s and East winds at 10-15mph.  Rain is coming in around 8-9PM tomorrow night as it'll keep raining until Tuesday afternoon.  Temps will still be in the 50s.  It looks like it could be a rainy day on Wednesday.  Maybe March and April have it mixed up this year?

Rain On The Saturday Weather Menu

Mornin'!  It's 47° in Wildwood NJ.  Happy Saturday!  It's raining and a great day to sleep in and catch up on your Zzzzz.  It feels like 41° with the S-SE winds at 18-22mph.  It'll be a rainy, windy day today with temps reaching the low-50s and SE winds at 20-30mph.  Chance of rain is 100% and should be checked in until 6-7PM.  Tonight... cloudy, becoming partly cloudy after midnight, temps in the mid-40s and W-NW winds at 10-15mph.  Tomorrow... mostly sunny with a few passing clouds, temps in the mid-upper 50s and W-SW winds at 5-10mph.  Tomorrow night... mostly clear, temps in the mid-40s and S-SE winds at 5-10mph.  Monday... mostly cloudy, rain by dinner time, temps in the low-50s and winds out of the E-NE at 10-15mph.  I'm not sure what's going on but there are neighbors galore all around me that opened their dark, closed up homes all arriving yesterday and last night.  I'm adapting to the first Shoobie infiltration of 2024.  It's always startling to see and hear more traffic, car doors slamming along with loud voices and commotion outside.  Of course, not to mention... lights going on everywhere (both outside and inside) as homes are all once again lit up.  It's been quiet and dark as most haven't been here since the Fall.  It's a shame they've picked a wet, raw, cold day here but tomorrow's a better day for sure.

March Is Up Next!

Mornin'!  It's March!  It's coming in like a lamb believe it or not.  Maybe it got all its wind knocked out of it in February!  It's truly hard to trust March; sorry.  I was born and raised in Philly and a March in Philly is the extreme opposite of a March in Wildwood.  I learned that my first March living here 20 years ago.  Most years, March is brutal with its icy winds.  We're last to see Spring and feel its warmth as Philly knows it to be.  We'll see dogwoods, azaleas, buds on trees etc... last to bloom.  But, we are certainly kicking it off with very decent Winter weather albeit it rainy tomorrow.  Grateful for that and fingers crossed.
It's 31° in Wildwood NJ.  It's calm and feels like 31° with hardly any breeze... E-NE at 2-4mph.  It sunny too.  Ms Sun's up and shining brightly over the island in the lovely blue sky.  We've got a beautiful, crisp, briny morning.  It'll stay sunny until mid-day when the clouds begin to filter in and make it a somewhat partly cloudy afternoon.  Temps will get into the mid-40s with E-SE winds at 10-15mph.  Tonight... rain clouds check in as periods of rain begin late, temps will be in the low-40s with SW winds at 10-15mph.  Chance of rain tonight into the overnight is 100%.  Tomorrow... cloudy with periods of rain, temps in the low-50s and SE winds at 15-25mph.  Tomorrow night... cloudy, temps in the upper 40s with W-SW winds turning W-NW at 10-15mph.  Sunday... partly sunny, temps in the low-50s and N-NW winds at 3-5mph.
