Mornin'!  It's 49° in Wildwood NJ.  Ms Sun's up along with some light clouds right along the horizon with light breezes out of the South at 10-15mph.  It'll be a partly sunny start to the day with clouds filtering in as this afternoon is looking overcast.  Temps will be in the upper 50s with South winds picking up at 15-25mph +gusting.  Tonight... light rain turns to a steady rain with temps around 50° and Southerly winds at 20-30mph +gusting.  Chance of rain is 100%.  The New Moon is tomorrow and causes those high tides to be much higher than normal.  We could see coastal flooding on the island so be aware of those high tide times and remember that the backside of the island (the marsh side) has high tide one hour later than the ocean side.  As for tomorrow's weather... morning clouds give way to a mainly sunny day with temps in the mid-50s and W-SW winds at 10-20mph.  And, as for New Year's day... partly sunny, windy with winds out of the West at 20-30mph with temps in the upper 40s.

Mornin'!  It's 48° in Wildwood NJ.  It's raining lightly.  We've got those heavy rain clouds all around us.  They're not only opening up and watering Wildwood, but they're insulating the sounds outside as the ocean's roar is loud and clear.  Expect rain showers this morning, then becoming just cloudy with rain showers starting again by later this afternoon... 90% chance.  Temps will be in the low-50s with S-SW winds at 5-10mph.  Tonight... 40% chance of rain, cloudy into the overnight, temps in the upper 40s and Southerly winds at 10-15mph.  Tomorrow... mostly cloudy with peeks of sun, temps in the upper 50s and South winds ramping up at 15-25mph +gusting.  Tomorrow night... we could see rain returning with 40% chance, temps in the mid-50s and S-SE winds at 20-25mph.  Monday... looks nice with sunshine, temps in the low-50s and West winds at 10-12mph. Mornin'!  Welcome Winter... the shortest day of the year!  It's 33° in Wildwood NJ.  It feels like 23° with the NW winds at 20-25mph +gusting.  Ms Sun's up and making her way through some cloud cover.  She'll be doing that throughout the day as it'll be partly clear and sunny / and a partly cloudy today.  Temps will be in the mid-30s with NW winds at 20-30mph +gusting making it feel like 20° and by tonight... 14°.  Tonight will be clear and starlit with temps in the upper teens and N-NW winds at 10-20mph.  Tomorrow... sunny, temps around 30° with N-NW winds at 10-20mph making it feel like 18°.  Tomorrow night... clear with temps in the low-20s feeling the 14° with North winds at 5-10mph.  It couldn't be more perfect start to the Winter season and the first day of Winter.  Days will now begin to grow longer beginning tomorrow until June of 2025... the longest day of the year.  Hope Old Man Winter is kind to us like he's been the last couple years!

Last Day Of Autumn

Mornin'!  It's 40° in Wildwood NJ.  It's cloudy with winds out of the NE at 10-15mph this last day of Fall.  It actually felt mild when I stepped outside first thing this morning.  The clouds are thick and insulating all the island sounds.  Living 6+ blocks from the ocean, my ears immediately perk up when I can hear the ocean's waves crashing loudly.  The clouds and wind direction do that.  The roar is very loud and clear today.  I'll never forget the first time that happened to me and I actually thought it was roaring traffic that I was hearing.  There's no roaring traffic here (the speed limit is 25mph).  I knew immediately that would be impossible and just as quickly knew it was the ocean's roar.  The salty briny is strong this morning as well.  And, everything about those things is why I love living here.  I'll never take it for granted.  It's looking like a raw, windy, and possibly wet day here on the island.  A "soup making" day no doubt.  Today's soup is Italian Wedding soup.  And, perhaps baking a batch or two of Christmas cookies.  I made some cookie dough yesterday which includes Chocolate Chip, Coconut Macaroons, Almond Crescents and Gingerbread.

Mornin'!  It's 57° in Wildwood NJ.  It's raining at a good clip along with Southerly winds at 20-25mph +gusting.  If there ever was a reason to stay in bed... this morning's weather is #1.  Ugh... it's perfectly miserable out there.  Perhaps it's a good day to bake those Christmas cookies or write out those holiday cards.  If your outdoor decs are up, you might want to check on how secure everything is out there.  Parka with hood up is strongly suggested.  I should also remind you of flooding on the island as we're only 4 days away from the Full Moon and the fuller the moon, the higher the tides during those high tide times.  The backside of the island has high tide an hour later than the ocean side.  Be aware of the possibility of tidal flooding on the island and do what it takes not to drive through any flood waters.  Also, know your high tide times and the island's low-lying areas that are prone to flooding.

S-SE at 2-4mph.  We just might see fog roll through this morning as the ol' weather forecasters are predicting.  But, for now it's sunny and clear.  Clouds will thicken as the day develops though as there's a 25% chance of a rain shower by later this afternoon.  Temps will get into the mid-50s with S-SE breezes at 5-10mph.  Tonight... cloudy with periods of rain (90% chance), temps in the low-50s and South winds beginning to kick up at 10-20mph.  Tomorrow... kicking off hump-day with rain (80% chance) as we'll have steady rain throughout the afternoon right up until bedtime (90% chance).  Tomorrow's temps will hover around 60° with winds ramping up even more out of the S-SW at 25-35mph.  Tighten and secure those outdoor Christmas decorations.  Temps tomorrow night... low-40s.  Thursday, the sunshine returns but so does the winds... out of the West at 20-30 +gusting.  Oh, and the Full "Cold" Moon is this coming Sunday.  Just an fyi.

Mornin'!  It's 45° in Wildwood NJ.  We're under cloud cover with winds out of the SE at 4-8mph.  There are breaks in the clouds near the ocean's horizon as Ms Sun is trying to break through them and at the same time painting them some beautiful pastels.  It'll be shortlived as clouds will thicken and take over the skies today.  Expect not only a cloudy day but it may rain.  There's a 70% chance of rain by mid-day as temps climb into the low-mid 50s.  Winds will ramp up from the South at 10-20mph.  Tonight... rains will have checked out by late afternoon as temps drop to where they are now... mid-40s with S-SW winds at 5-10mph.  Tomorrow... partly cloudy start becoming mostly cloudy by the afternoon, temps in the mid-50s and S-SE breezes at 5-10mph.  Tomorrow night... rain showers (80% chance), temps in the low-50s and Southerly winds at 10-20mph.  Wednesday... rainy and very windy with mild temps (60s).

Sunny Humpday

Mornin'!  I'm back!  The last time I did a blog entry was on Thanksgiving morning and it was 57° in Wildwood. 
This morning it's 29° in Wildwood!   Winter's doing more than peeking in as its already got one foot in the door.  We're now only 17 days away from the Winter Solstice.  The current conditions here are clear skies, barely any winds (out of the W-NW at 2-3mph with no windchill).  That'll change though.  We'll start out today with a clear, sunny, calm morning and by afternoon around mid-day, it'll become partly sunny and blustery with winds out of the SW at 20-30mph +gusting.  Today's temperature will be around 45°.   Tonight... overcast and windy with S-SW winds at 25-35mph +gusting, temps in the low-40s feeling like the low-30s along with a 25% chance of precipitation.  Tomorrow... chance of morning shower (25% chance), still very windy with West winds at 25-40mph, and temps in the mid-40s.  Tomorrow night... strong winds continue out of the W-NW at 25-35mph +gusting, temps in the low-30s feeling like the low-20s with the windchill.  As for this coming weekend... a very nice one with plentiful sunshine both Saturday and Sunday and temps in the mid-upper 40s and not near as windy as we're about to have today and tomorrow and Friday with Sunday possibly coming in around 50°!  Being near Pottsville PA for my extra long Thanksgiving weekend, I got a nice taste of Winter.  It was in the teens every morning.  It's always good to be home!
