It's 57° in Wildwood NJ.  We're under cloud cover with not a peek of Ms Sun.  It's misty and windy... S-SE winds at 15-20mph +gusting.  No rain yet but we're supposed to get periods of rain this morning (100% chance) beginning any time now with winds shifting and ramping up out of the W-SW at 20-30mph +gusting.  Temps will be tapping 60° but I'm sure will be feeling much colder with the windchill (low-50s). Mornin'!  Happy Thanksgiving Eve! It's 37° in Wildwood NJ. It's cold out this morning with breezes out of the NW at 3-6mph feeling like 33°.  Clear sky overhead with that tiny quarter moon up there shining.  By the way, the New (invisible) Moon is Sunday (higher than normal tides).  It'll be a mostly partly cloudy day with some alternate peeks of sun becoming gray and overcast by this afternoon.  Temps will get up into the low-mid-50s with W-NW winds at 5-10mph.  Tonight... cloudy with 60% chance of off and on rain showers into the overnight.  Temps will drop into the mid-upper 40s with SE winds at 5-10mph.  Tomorrow... cloudy with occasional rain showers mainly in the morning, winds will begin to increase as temps get into the mid-upper 50s, with very strong S-SE winds shifting from the West all at 20-30mph +gusting. Tomorrow night... partly cloudy, temps in the mid-40s with NW winds at 20-25mph. As for this weekend... sunny and blustery both days with temps around 40°.  Time to check to see how that Turkey's thawing!

A Decent Day Beginning A Little Later

Mornin'!  It's 55° in Wildwood NJ.  And, just an fyi... the ocean's temperature is now down to 55° (same as the air temp).  We're under partly cloudy skies with some clearing here and there.  Winds are light out of the South at 5-10mph.  The clouds will continue to thicken as it's supposed to begin raining in an hour or so and rain throughout most of the morning (50% chance).  It'll begin to clear as the sun begins shining around mid-day (noon) and become a partly sunny / partly cloudy day.  Temps will be around 60° with West winds ramping up at 10-20mph.  Tonight... mostly clear, temps down into the low-40s and NW winds at 10-15mph.  Tomorrow... a mix of sun and clouds again with mostly cloudy skies by late afternoon.  Temps will be in the low-50s with W-NW winds at 5/10mph.  Tomorrow night... cloudy, rain developing after midnight (70% chance), temps in the upper 40s with SE winds at 5-10mph.  Thanksgiving looks like a day with periods of rain showers (90% chance), temps in the upper 50s and S-SE winds shifting to the West at 15-25mph.  Thursday night... partly cloudy, temps near 40° and NW winds at 15-25mph.

Full "Beaver" Moon Friday

Mornin'!  It's 48° in Wildwood NJ.  The weather chart says it feels like 42° with the N-NE breezes at 10-15mph.  It's cloudy as Ms Sun begins her Full Moon Friday.  She's behind the clouds at the moment.  She's actually peeking under them at the horizon line as I blog.  She's due up in just about 10 minutes.  Since we're under cloud cover, there's a 40% chance of rain this morning.  By this afternoon... sunshine and blue skies and on the windy side.  Temps will go up into the mid-upper 50s with N-NW winds at 10-20mph.  Tonight... clear, temps back to where they are now... mid-upper 40s with NW winds at 10-20mph.  Tomorrow... sunny, temps in the low-mid 60s and very blustery with NW winds at 15-25mph.  Sunday... partly to mostly sunny, temps in the upper 50s and W-NW winds at 5-10mph.  It's the Full Moon today.  Tides are much higher than normal and we could see that salt water seeping into the streets again.  Do your best to not drive through it.  We did have some very minor coastal flooding yesterday along the curbs in some of the streets as that water somehow finds its way up onto the island.  That Full Moon is just the push it needs.  Hopefully, we'll see some rain as we're in a serious "extreme" drought crisis.  And, if we do have clear skies tonight... that ol' Moon rise is always amazing to witness along the ocean on the eastern horizon.

Partly to Mostly Cloudy Thursday

Mornin'!  It's 44° in Wildwood NJ.  There are a few things going on this morning.  First, it's a bit on the cloudy side.  Ms Sun is painting the sky as she tries to rise and shine but the clouds are in the way and making things interesting with beautiful colors mixed with dark, gray clouds.  Secondly, it's high tide on the bay side and my surrounding streets along the curbs are on the floody-side.  High tide was actually an hour ago on the ocean side of the island but the bay side is always an hour later.  Tomorrow's Full Moon is creating this scene there's no doubt as we're still in a serious drought situation with no measurable rain for over a month.  The Northeast winds are light at 9-12mph.

Mornin'!  Happy Veterans Day!  It's 62° in Wildwood NJ.  We're wet and drippy from last evening/overnight rains.  Everything's watered but my guess is that it's not enough to rid us of the drought conditions.  In fact, there have been reports of wild fires out of the control in Passaic County NJ as well as parts of Orange County NY.  Very light, misty rain showers are still coming down and likely through mid-morning (50% chance).  We'll see gradual clearing then with ample sunshine by late morning / early afternoon.  Along with the sunshine, we'll have temps near 70° and winds out of the W-SW at 15-25mph.  Tonight... mostly clear with some clouds in the mix, temps... upper 40s with W-NW winds still stiff at 15-25mph.  Tomorrow... sunny with gusty winds (N-NW 20-30mph) and temps in the upper 50s.  Tomorrow night... clear, temps around 40° and NW winds at 15-20mph +gusting.  And, to all our Veterans (including my husband) who have served our country... today we honor you and all those who have served in all the wars.  Thank You!

Hump Day

Mornin'!  It's 62° in Wildwood NJ.  It feels mild and damp outside with 83% humidity.  All surfaces outside are glistening with dew.  Breezes are barely there out of the S-SW at 5-10mph.   It's still dark with sunrise in less than an hour away.  It'll be a beauty today with sunny to partly sunny (some clouds in the mix) skies and a new record high in temperatures... 75°!  Winds will be out of the SW at 10-20mph.  Tonight... mostly cloudy with 15% chance of rain, temps in the low-60s and W-SW at 5-10mph.  Tomorrow... cloudy, with 30% chance of rain later in the day, temps in the low-70s and West winds at 5-10mph.  Tomorrow night... partly clear / partly cloudy with temps in the low-60s and NW breezes at 4-8mph.  This coming weekend: Saturday will be sunny with temps barely tapping 60° and light and variable winds.  And, Sunday will be partly to mostly cloudy, temps in the low-60s and South winds at 10-15mph.

Mornin'!  It's 59° in Wildwood NJ.  We're socked in with heavy fog this early morn.  If it were a clear, blue-sky kind of morning, Ms Sun would be just crossing over the horizon and shining her rays beginning today's warm-up.  But, it's gray and drippy with light breezes out of the SW at 3-5mph.  We're going to have morning patchy fog with peeks of sunshine in a few hours.  It'll be a partly sunny / partly cloudy day with temps in the upper 60s and S-SW winds at 10-20mph.  Tonight... mainly clear, temps around 60° and S-SW winds at 10-15mph.  Tomorrow... like today it'll be partly sunny / partly cloudy, much higher temps (mid-70s) and SW winds at 10-20mph.  Tomorrow night... cloudy, temps in the mid-60s and SW winds at 3-5mph.  Need I tell you that it's Election Day?  Time to Vote!  Let's make this happen and see what tomorrow brings.  One thing for sure is no more Campaign commercials!

First Monday Of November

Mornin'!  It's 49° in Wildwood NJ.  It's dawn and the sky is clear.  Ms Sun's due up any moment now.  The horizon is beginning to be painted those lovely pastels.  Winds are barely there out of the East at 4-6mph.  It'll be a partly sunny day with clouds entering stage left and filling the sky by dinner time.  Temps will be mild... low-mid 60s with E-SE winds at 10-15mph.  Tonight... mostly cloudy with clouds filtering out overnight, temps in the mid-upper 50s and winds light and variable.  Tomorrow... partly sunny with clouds in the mix, temps in the upper 60s and S-SW winds at 10-15mph.  Tomorrow night... partly cloudy, temps in the low-60s with S-SW winds at 10-15mph.  Wednesday... partly sunny, temps in the low-70s with SW winds.  There's a slight chance we'll have rain Wednesday overnight into Thursday morning.  We're in severe drought conditions having no rain for the last 38 days.  The State's reservoir levels are now below average and the Forest Fire Service has issued an extreme fire danger rating for the entire State.  No fires are allowed on both public and private land.  Cape May County (Wildwood's County) along Atlantic, Camden, Cumberland, Ocean etc. all have the worst of the drought conditions.  Please be aware and don't go sitting around a blazing camp fire any time soon.  Also... watch those "smokes" while driving through those very dry back roads.

The Last Day Of Daylight Savings Time

Mornin'!  It's 51° in Wildwood NJ.  It feels like 48° with those N-NW breezes at 10-15mph.  Ms Sun just rose over the ocean's horizon.  It's a crisp, beautiful morning down the Shore.  It's also the last of daylight savings time.  We turn the clocks back ("Fall" back) tonight before turning in as sunset tomorrow will be "4:55pm".  Say hello to those dark treks home from work or start of dinners or painfully re-setting all those timers in the house.  Keep in mind that the Winter Solstice (12/21) is just 50 days away.  It's the shortest daylight of the year and the very next day (12/22) daylight begins growing longer each day. 
Anyway... today's weather will be nice.  Expect a perfect Autumn day with a mix of sun and clouds, temps in the low-60s and winds out of the N-NW at 10-15mph.  Tonight... clear, temps much colder in the low-40s and North winds at 10-15mph.  Tomorrow... sunny, temps around 60° and NE winds at 10-15mph.  Tomorrow night... clear, temps around 50° with E-NE breezes at 5-10mph.  Monday... partly to mostly cloudy, temps in the low-60s and E-SE breezes at 5-10mph.  Don't forget the clocks tonight... it's my last reminder until March 9th!

November's In The House

Mornin'!  Happy November!  It's 66° in Wildwood NJ.  We're under clear, starlit skies.  Sunrise is just about an hour from now.  Winds are out of the SW at 10-15mph.  Clouds are supposed to roll on through this morning and stick around for most of the morning.  A bit later this afternoon, we'll see the sunshine begin to mix with the clouds as temps rise into the mid-70s with W-SW winds ramping up at 15-25mph.  Tonight... clear and chilly... upper 40s with NW winds at 10-15mph.  Tomorrow... sunny, temps in the low-mid 60s with N-NW winds at 10-15mph. Tomorrow night... clear, low-50s with North winds at 4-8mph.  Remember to turn the clocks back an hour tomorrow night before turning in as Eastern Standard Time begins on Sunday.  Speaking of Sunday... sunny, temps around 59° with E-NE winds at 10-15mph.  It's the New Moon today which brings higher and lower than normal tides. And as we being November, Hurricane season is supposed to end on November 30th and I'm hoping this November is kind to us.  We'll have to wait and see.  We could pray to the Saints as it is "All Saints Day" today!
