Happy Earth Day!

Mornin'! It's 50° in Wildwood.  It's going to be a "soggy Sunday" and the drizzles are out there to prove it.  We had some rain showers overnight and will continue to have them this morning, the afternoon and this evening.  Forecasters are saying we could get up to 2" or more by tomorrow.  A Nor'easter is approaching our coast today.  Temp will be in the mid-50's, Winds will be out of the N-NE and switching from the East later at 15-20mph with gusting of 30+ (possibly 40) mph.  Wildwood will be wet and windy.  So, let's say a few things about "Earth Day" shall we?  Since moving to the coast (almost 8 yrs. ago) I've witnessed some very upsetting littering of the island.  I had no clue until I lived here. Now, this very small island broken down consists of 4.59 square miles.  Wildwood: 1.29 sq.miles, North Wildwood:1.2 sq.miles: Wildwood Crest: 1.2 sq. miles, West Wildwood: .9 sq.miles.  The trash littering this island is mindblowing (especially on a windy day).  Nothing is worse than plastic bags or bottles littering the beaches, dunes or streets.  My hubby and I are constantly picking up someone's plastic that's headed directly into the bay or ocean.  The worst part is the entire world has beaches and if one coastal region (4.59 sq. miles) is a contributor to destroying the sea, I can only imagine how grave the condition of our Earth is as we all are guilty and in this together.  Happy Earth Day!
