Mornin'! It's 31° in Wildwood. We're snow and cloud covered. It began snowing before midnight and is still coming down. Everything but the ground is white (guess it's a little too warm for it to stick). I'd say we received a couple inches. All the vehicles will need dusting off but sidewalks are a-ok. The forecast for today is more snow/wintry mix right into the afternoon. Another 1-3" is expected. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Winds are currently not that bad but they're heading this way for a snowy/windy afternoon (N-NE 20-30mph w/gusts over 40mph). Temps are only going up into the mid-30s. Tonight...clouds should begin clearing out as temps drop into the upper 20s and winds simmer down a bit out of the North at 10-20mph. The weekend's looking 50-50 with intervals of sunshine for tomorrow day as clouds take over late in the day. Then another round of wintry mix tomorrow night into Sunday morning. One good thing by the middle of next week we're going to get a lovely taste of Spring with sunshine and 60+ temps! It's not over yet though...it's March! High tide:4:01p.m. Low tide:9:53a.m. Ocean temp:39° Sunset:5:56p.m.
A daily weather forecast of Wildwood, New Jersey. I'm a lover of the weather and more importantly the sea, sand, tides, sunrises, sunsets and moon charts. I've discovered since living here on the island (2004) how different our weather is than the mainland. Or, better yet, the Philadelphia area where I was born and raised. Lucky for me my family spent just about every summer vacationing in Wildwood. I did the same while raising my own children. I'm blessed to have been able to call it home as being "down the shore" full time is pretty amazing. People always ask, "How bad is it in the Winter?" You know what they say... "If you're lucky enough to live by the beach, you're lucky enough." As for this weather thing... I will never get used to the fact that when there's a snowstorm in Philly, it could be a misty/rainy, almost mild Winters' day in Wildwood or if there's a Nor'easter bringing Wildwood to its knees, it could be a cloudy, windy day in Philly. These towns are less than two hours apart. Since my Philly family and friends always assume that I'm having the same weather as the big city, I began blogging about Wildwood NJs weather to keep the record straight.
