Northeast Winds - New Moon

Mornin'!  It's 34° in Wildwood NJ.  We're coated in white (about an inch) as we've had snow showers including a mix of rain and snow as well as a mix of ice and snow throughout the night and into the early morning hours. Everything's glistening in crunchy white as a wintry mix of rain and snow (icy pellets) is coming down and adhering to surfaces.  It's all wind driven too from the NE at 10-20mph.  Oh... the windchill is 24° and it's perfectly miserable outside.  In a perfect world, there would be no pandemic and I'd be on my way to New Orleans for a week of Mardi Gras.
For today's weather, expect rain and snow (and icy pellets) this morning.  By this afternoon, it should be just overcast and gray. Temps will get up into the mid-30s with NE winds at 10-20mph creating that windchill of 27°.  No one's committing to any sunshine today.  Tonight... cloudy with a low of 26° and N-NE winds at 10-20mph with more windchill.  Today's the New Moon and the Tides are much higher than normal.  There could be salt water in the streets to avoid so take heed.  Tomorrow... dry, considerable cloudiness (minimal peeks of sun), low-30s and NE winds 10-20mph.  Saturday... cloudy start to the day with wintry mix by mid-day.  Sunday... looks like a rainy day since temps will be around 40°.  All throughout the weekend... NE winds.  In the words of Harry Nilsson... "Banking off the NE winds, sailing on a summer breeze, skipping over the ocean like a stone."  These "NE winds" keep repeating in my
head this morning.  But, so does that recipe for Minestrone soup that I'll be making today!  So does a nice warm fire!  It's exactly 4 weeks today that we put Freddy down.  I've tried keeping up with the daily blog photo tributes to him along with my weather reports and I made a promise to myself that after a month, I'd pull back and lay low on the Freddy photos. I'll throw one up there every now and then as the healing continues.  Most days are normal now, but that damn grief still sneaks up on you big time when you least expect it.

I love this video of Freddy so much. I love when he gets woozy with comfort near the fire! We are getting snow, too!
