Mornin'! It's 27° in Wildwood. It's cloudy as Ms Sun's waiting in the wings. It looks like she'll once again make a spectacular display of color as she rises. After that...we go downhill. By mid-day things will become the norm around here...a mix of rain and snow that is on its way. It should stay mostly rain as the temps will be around the mid to upper-30s (60% chance of precipitation this afternoon). It's supposed to rain on the overnight into Wednesday as temps rise into the mid-40s (no typo). Today's winds will be out of the E-SE at 6-8mph. They'll shift during the night from the S-SW. This is a slow-mover unfortunately so we'll see the wintry mix and wetness for the next three days including some snow accumulation on Thursday. The sun returns Friday. Just a reminder...rain along with the higher temps = big meltdown + full moon = higher tides. You do the math. High tide:6:47p.m. Low tide:12:24p.m. Ocean temp:36° Sunset:5:52p.m. Full Moon: Thursday
A daily weather forecast of Wildwood, New Jersey. I'm a lover of the weather and more importantly the sea, sand, tides, sunrises, sunsets and moon charts. I've discovered since living here on the island (2004) how different our weather is than the mainland. Or, better yet, the Philadelphia area where I was born and raised. Lucky for me my family spent just about every summer vacationing in Wildwood. I did the same while raising my own children. I'm blessed to have been able to call it home as being "down the shore" full time is pretty amazing. People always ask, "How bad is it in the Winter?" You know what they say... "If you're lucky enough to live by the beach, you're lucky enough." As for this weather thing... I will never get used to the fact that when there's a snowstorm in Philly, it could be a misty/rainy, almost mild Winters' day in Wildwood or if there's a Nor'easter bringing Wildwood to its knees, it could be a cloudy, windy day in Philly. These towns are less than two hours apart. Since my Philly family and friends always assume that I'm having the same weather as the big city, I began blogging about Wildwood NJs weather to keep the record straight.
