Mornin'! It's 35° in Wildwood. The sky is mostly clear and starlit as the sounds of the surf crashing is heard from my back porch (six blocks from the ocean). There's something so remarkable about the sound of the ocean waves crashing. Today I'd rather it be summer as I lay on a beach blanket being lulled to sleep by its rhythm. The daily tasks are at hand and those ocean sounds could just be a heads up that rain is likely as this morning's light cloudy haze will insulate the sounds of the surf so folks like myself can hear it loud and clear.. It'll be clouding up a little later today as on and off rain showers will be slipping in by this afternoon. Temps will be in the mid-50s (no typo). Breezes will commence from the E-SE at 5-10mph and shift by the South tonight. Tonight, the temperature drops back into the low 40s. There's a 90% chance of rain today and tonight. Expect some overflow of rain showers into tomorrow as the clouds have no intention of checking out completely until Thursday. And, btw...Saturday's looking like the next day for rain. High tide:11:32a.m. Low tide:5:21p.m. Ocean temp:36° Sunset:7:02p.m. (I'm so happy with dusk coming in after 7p.m.!!!)
A daily weather forecast of Wildwood, New Jersey. I'm a lover of the weather and more importantly the sea, sand, tides, sunrises, sunsets and moon charts. I've discovered since living here on the island (2004) how different our weather is than the mainland. Or, better yet, the Philadelphia area where I was born and raised. Lucky for me my family spent just about every summer vacationing in Wildwood. I did the same while raising my own children. I'm blessed to have been able to call it home as being "down the shore" full time is pretty amazing. People always ask, "How bad is it in the Winter?" You know what they say... "If you're lucky enough to live by the beach, you're lucky enough." As for this weather thing... I will never get used to the fact that when there's a snowstorm in Philly, it could be a misty/rainy, almost mild Winters' day in Wildwood or if there's a Nor'easter bringing Wildwood to its knees, it could be a cloudy, windy day in Philly. These towns are less than two hours apart. Since my Philly family and friends always assume that I'm having the same weather as the big city, I began blogging about Wildwood NJs weather to keep the record straight.
