North Wildwood - Hereford Lighthouse Garden |
So, there are some celebrated things going on today as it's a special day throughout the world. It's the Spring Equinox which basically means Day and Night are just about the same length. Thus, "Equinox" means "equal". Also, the center of the Sun is directly above the earth's equator today. It usually happens this day (or near it 3/19, 3/20, 3/21) of March. It's the first time since 1981 that the Full Moon and Spring Equinox happen on the same day. This Full Moon is known as the Super Moon as tonight's moon will appear larger than usual since its proximity to earth is closer than normal. The moon actually becomes "full" at 9:43p.m. tonight and Spring's officially here at 5:58p.m. tonight. Let's all celebrate the dark half of the year passing! Get out and ready those gardens and summon those seeds to be planted as the earth becomes warmer and brighter.
