Adios April!

Mornin'!  It's 53° this last daybreak of April.  That month flew by didn't it?  Today will be a mix of weather as the morning will bring with it clouds and showers and breezes off the ocean.  Speaking of ocean...it's loud and clear as the roar of the waves crashing can be heard 6 blocks away.  Today will begin with clouds and showers but everywhere I've checked says we'll see clearing sometime this last day of April.  Peeks of sun are due in this afternoon while the breezes die down a bit coming from the East at 15-20mph.  Temps will be in the mid-upper 50's and maybe even tapping the 60° mark.

Washout

Mornin'!  It's 53° in rainy Wildwood.  It's looks like the start to the day and week is going to be wet, dreary and a bit raw.  Since it's Monday, I'll call it miserable too.  It's currently raining at a good clip as the breezes have begun to kick up.  They'll kick up even more as the day progresses coming from the SE at 25-30mph.  Temps will be in the mid-hi 50's as the rain continues throughout the day into the overnight and even into tomorrow.  After this beautiful weekend, this washout will be tough to take.  Speaking of weekend...no blog yesterday as I did a little road trip to our daughter's Saturday and the Philadelphia area was actually sunny and warm and in the mid-70's and a true preview of summer.  It's coming...53 days until Summer.  But the true weekend highlight was feeling my first grandbaby roll around and kick the palm of my hand!

Perfect Spring Day down the Shore

Mornin'!  It's 45° in Wildwood this early morn.  It's another lovely daybreak.  The sky is lightening as the sunrise is-a-coming.  No breezes to write about!  I can't believe it's this still and quite outside.  The stillness is allowing the sounds of the birds come through and they seem to be everywhere.  It's like the island's coming alive with all kinds of birdcalls.  Add to that the fragrance of the sea in the background and you have a very peaceful and beautiful start to the day.  This is what I'd call a perfect Spring morning at the shore.  Today's weather will be much like yesterday...very mild as temps tap the 60's again with sun shining all day and winds hardly noticable.  While we're on winds...they'll be mostly light breezes beginning from the NE, then shifting from the East and finally by days end shift again from the SE all at 5-10mph.  Tomorrow's weather...much less sun but still on the mild side.

A Very Good Friday

Mornin'!  It's 45° in WW.  It's actually a nice Spring morning as breezes are minimal, the sky is clear and bright and the full moon is setting as the sun rises.  It's all happening with some sea air in that mix.  Lovely.   It'll be nice today as the sun warms the island with breezes out of the NW at 9-12mph and temps tapping the 60° mark.  The moon continues to be somewhat full and provide extra high tides.  The weekend's looking pretty good as tomorrow seems to be a repeat of today; Sunday not as much.  I was lucky to be on the beach last night when the moon rose and it was an incredibly beautiful evening and something that just never gets old.

Prenumbral Eclipse Day

Mornin'!  It's 48° in Wildwood.  It's gray and chilly and raw with those nasty NW winds still stealing the show here.  Jeez...enough already...it's feeling alot like March this month!   Light showers are coming down at the moment.  Temps are heading to the mid-upper 50's as the showers check out and the Sun begins shining late this morning/early afternoon.  Winds will begin to diminish and shift from the N-NW at 20-25mph to the SW at 5-10mph.  It's "full moon" day as well as an eclipse but our section of the world won't see it as the moon will still be under the horizon while eclipsing.  In fact, it's already started.  Let's not forgot those tides as they will be higher than usual with the moon's draw so don't drive through ocean water in the street!

Sunny and Breezy

Mornin'!  It's 44° in WW this sunny, brisk morning.  Temps are heading to the 60's once again...yay!!!  It'll be sunny and breezy today with breezes coming from the S-SW initially at 20-25mph and shifting a bit from the South and ramping up at 25-30mph with 40mph gusts.  I'd venture to say it'll be a bad hair afternoon.  Oh...keep an eye open for the flooding as there's a Full Moon tomorrow and already the tides are showing their intensity.  I thought for sure Rt. 47 was going to take on water last night after sunset as the grasses and reeds in the marshes were nowhere to be seen...only water out there and it was just about on the road.  We could get a shower overnight too by the way.

Windy and Chilly

Mornin'!  It's 46° in Wildwood.  The thick clouds are up above and looks like there's not a chance for one of those lovely sunrises.  Actually, light showers are forecasted throughout most of this morning.  It's feeling raw as it's very windy with breezes from the N-NE at 25-30mph as well as plenty of dampness in the air.  The clouds and wind are going to hang around mostly all day.  By late this afternoon, the breezes will die down as the sun peeks occasionally.  I wouldn't call it a sunny afternoon though.  Temps will just be tapping the 50's and I'm going with a heavy sweater again.

Earth Day

Mornin'!  It's 43° in WW.  It's clear and breezy as Ms. Sun will be rising within the hour.  Temps will just about tap the 50° mark as breezes will be still coming from the E-NE at 20-25mph all day.  It'll be partly cloudy / partly sunny today with a 10% chance of showers tonight.  Moon's been brighter each night as the Full Moon is this thursday.  Earth day today...we can all recognize that work needs to be done to bring human life into harmony with the rest of life on earth and to continue to pledge to protect the Earth and the web of life upon it.

Mornin'!  It's 42° in Wildwood this early Sunday morn.  The sky is beginning to lighten a bit as the stars begin to fade and make way for a lovely sunrise.  There's a light breeze as it feels very chilly.  It'll be a cool Sunday but Ms. Sun will be checked in all day. Temps pretty much stay in the 40's, possibly tapping the 50° mark.  Breezes will initially be out of the N-NE at 15-20mph and shift later this afternoon from the East at 5mph.  Clouds filter back over the island tomorrow.

Chillier and Breezier

Mornin'!  It's 49° in the Woods with breezy, misty, cloudy conditions...a bit on the chilly damp side for sure as we kick off the weekend.  Temps are supposed to only go up into the mid-high 50's as breezes stay ramped up all day out of the W-NW at 20-25mph.  This cloudy dampness should hit the pike later today as Ms. Sun makes her appearance and begins the dry things out (it poured all night long).  Tomorrow...Chilly's hanging out with Ms. Sun.

Gray and Gearing up for Rain

Mornin'!  It's 54° in Wildwood.  There's a bit of "red sky" in the early morning as the clouds, mist and fog roll in over the island.  Not sure if we'll get a sunrise. It's going into the mid-60's again today as the day begins much like yesterday...misty, damp and very breezy with winds wifting (I mean wafting) off the ocean.  The forecasters are saying there could be peeks of sun off and on this morning but for the most part today, Wildwood will be gray and gearing up for a rain event that's due in tonight.  The rain will probably get heavy on the overnight.  Winds will be stiff from the South at 20-30mph with gusts of up to 40mph.  Tomorrow, the rain will check out in the morning as the sun checks in and it's looking like a decent weekend.

Overcast

Mornin'!  It's 52° in overcast Wildwood.  Ms. Sun's rising as I type but chances are high that she'll be obscured today as the clouds are rolling in.  There are spots in the sky where it's clear and we all know that it could make for a beautiful sunrise.  We'll have to wait and see but so far, so good.  Temps will once again tap the 60° mark.  It's breezy as winds are coming off the ocean as the sound of the waves crashing are loud and clear six blocks away.  The breezes will stay SE and begin shifting later from the E-SE; then from the S-SE all at 15-20mph +some minor gusting.  It'll be cloudy most of the day with a 10% chance of showers and increasing to 20% chance tonight.

Hump Day

Mornin'!  It's 54° in WW under clear skies.  Looking like another gorgeous sunrise as the horizon has lightened into bright, pastel colors.  Light breeze off the sea bringing its fragrance for our humpday morning wakeup call.  Love it.  It'll be mild with temps in the low 60's.  There's a 30% chance of a shower before noon as clouds filter in.  Could be kind of a gray afternoon but some forecasts say peeks of sun later.  Remains to be seen.  Breezes will begin from the N-NE then shift from the E-NE and finally end up coming from the East later this afternoon all at 13-16mph.  We could get more showers on the overnight into tomorrow morning.

Mornin'!  It's 50° in WW under clear, starlit skies.  No breezes to write about.  It appears the sunrise will be a lovely one in just over an hour.  It'll be a nice one today as Ms. Sun will be shining brightly as temps tap the 60° mark.  Winds will be out of the S-SE at 12-18mph. There's a slight chance of a shower overnight tonight and into tomorrow morning.  Remains to be seen.  Today...a lovely day at the Shore.

Gray Income Tax Day

Mornin'!  It's 48° in WW.  It's dry and overcast with a light ocean breeze.  It'll stay overcast as the clouds are staying checked and there's

 a 70% chance that it won't stay dry as light showers are expected on and off throughout most of the day.  Speaking of chances...there's another one later that the sun could peek out by later this afternoon.  Breezes will be mostly out of the E-SE at 15-20mph as temps will hover around the lo-mid 50's.  It's a perfect gray day to file taxes.

Mornin'!  It's 46° this Sunday morning.  Ms. Sun is rising as I type.  It's clear with not a cloud in the sky so she'll be shining brightly and begin her warming technique.  Looks like a repeat of yesterday's forecast with sun shining all day in clear, blue skies.  Minimal breezes out of the W-NW at 15-20mph and switching direction by this afternoon from the S-SE as the breeze lessens at 5-10mph. Temps will be tapping the 60° mark again today and it's looking like a clear night as temps drop back into the high 40's.  Nice weekend in Wildwood.

Everything's Changed

Mornin'!  It's 51° in WW this sunny Saturday.  No clouds up there and winds are minimal.  Gardens and lawns are still wet from last night but it's lovely with all the sea fragrance mixed in.  It'll tap the 60° mark as sun pours over the island all day.  Winds will pick up just a bit from the NW-W at 15-20mph.  Tomorrow looks much like the same too!

Soup's on!

Mornin'!  It's 48° in the midst of the mist and fog on the island.  You talk about "drippy".  All you can hear is dripping outside oh and not to mention the sound of waves crashing 6 blocks away.  Amazing.   We're in the soup as the fog has stayed checked in all night.  It'll be gray, misty, foggy and rainy all day.  There's a chance of a thunderstorm this afternoon.  One forecaster noted that there's a chance of a break in the clouds and mist as Ms. Sun may just make a peek appearance.  Remains to be seen. Temps will be in the mid-high 60's with breezes out of the South at 25-30mph with gusts as stiff as 40+mph.  The weekend's looking okay...temps in the 60's with Ms. Sun in the reservation book!

The Niceness Continues

Mornin'!  It's 56° this early morn.  Clouds are just right as they're going to provide a beautiful, colorful sunrise in less than an hour.  No breezes to write about.  I sat outside with my coffee and took in the island this dark, early morning.  It's quiet except for the sound of the ocean roaring and the birds waking and chirping as far as the ear can hear.  It's lovely.  It's been really nice on the island lately.  I have to admit that yesterday was without question a beach day...probably the first true one of the year.  While sitting at lunch down by the sea, I witnessed car after car park; then after retreiving sandchairs and coolers and bags, the beach-goers almost skipped to the beach.  One couple took all their stuff out of the car trunk and stood their hugging before trekking to the dunes.  Everyone had a bit of pep in their step and it was fun to watch.  Today could play out the same as it'll remain mild with temps tapping 70° but with more clouds in the mix.  Heavy clouds will filter in as rain is due tonight.  Winds will be out of the SW first then shift by late afternoon to the S-SE all at 15-20mph.  Tonight, there's a threat of severe thunderstorms; just saying.

Warmest Day in the last Six Months!

Mornin'!  It's 58° in Wildwood.  Yes...58!  The dark, morning sky is clear and starlit.  There's a faint lightening along the horizon as the morning breaks.  Temps are heading into the low-mid 70's.  Yes...70's!  Looking like a beach day as it'll be our warmest day in the last 6 months.  Winds will be out of the W-SW at 10-15mph while Ms. Sun shines most of the day.  Most forecasters are saying a mix of clouds, but if it's anything like yesterday...Ms. Sun will be showing her strength as she warms the island.  Funny, I saw lots of folks yesterday heading to the beach in summer garb (shorts, tanks, flipflops) with sandchair in hand.  It certainly is a lovely sneak preview of what it's all about these last few days.

Mornin'!  It's 54° in WW.  The sky is overcast and cloudy insulating the sounds of the island and making the ocean's waves crashing prevelant in the early darkness.  Not much in the line of breezes but they'll show up later from the West at 15-20mph.  It'll be mild and partly sunny/partly cloudy with temps possibly tapping the 70° mark today.  It's looking like a perfectly gorgeous Spring day at the Shore.

Sunday Lovliness

Mornin'!  It's 42° in WW.  Ms. Sun just rose (so did I...slept in a bit today).  The sky is so pretty this morning with its streaks of colorful cloud cover.  Say that fast five times.  There's a very gentle breeze off the ocean as it's making the air incredibly fragrant.  It's a terrific mix with coffee brewing...Sunday lovliness I call it.  It'll be partly sunny/partly cloudy today (clouds are in the mix today unlike yesterday).  Temps will be warmer in the mid-upper 50's (by Tuesday...we may see 70° on the ol' porch thermometer...just saying).  Winds will be picking up later this morning coming out of the South at 20-25mph.  I'd get the bike riding in as early as possible.  Less resistance.

Mornin'!  It's 34° in WW.  The sky is clear as Ms. Sun is about to rise and shine.  She'll shine brightly all day too!  It'll be a chilly, sunny, clear day at the Shore as temps only reach the low-mid 40's.  In the morning, the winds will be out of the N at 20mph and shift by this afternoon from the E-NE and calming down at 5mph.  Tomorrow...a bit warmer but cloudier.

Mornin'!  It's 39° in rainy Wildwood.  The rains are-a-coming down at a pretty good clip.  They were coming down all night long and I heard no flood sirens.  High tide was a couple hours ago as well.  The rains will continue through the morning until lunchtime when peeks of sun are expected.  After that...partly sunny/partly cloudy.  Temps will reach the mid-50's with winds out of the N-NW at 15-20mph.  Looks sunny albeit cooler for the weekend.

Calm before the Storm

Mornin'!  It's a cold 32° in WW this early morn.  Stars are out in the clear sky.  No breezes to write about.  It's probably going to start out on a good note with Ms. Sun rising in about an hour or so.  However, the clouds are going to increase throughout the day and make it a partly-mostly cloudy day.  These clouds are bringing with them rain by tonight which will be the commencement of tomorrow's coastal storm.  Temps today will be in the mid-40's as breezes will barely begin this afternoon from the South at 5-10mph.  Tomorrow's looking like a washout but ending on a good note...the weekend's looking nice.

Mornin'!  It's 36° in Wildwood.  Sun's just about over the pastel colored horizon.  Skies are clear.  No breezes to write about.  It's quiet, brisk and fragrant this cold, Spring morning.  It'll be much like yesterday with sun shining all day and temps in the mid-40's.  Winds will be out of the W-NW at 15-20mph.  The clouds will roll in tomorrow for Friday's coastal storm.  Can't wait for that...not!  Today though...a decent day to get out and enjoy.

A Bit Blustery

Mornin'!  It's 36° in Wildwood this morning.  Quite a switch from yesterday's morning temperature.  It's quiet and calm but a bit on the chilly side and will stay that way as temps will climb only into the mid-upper 40's.   Ms. Sun is checked in all day so she'll help with warmth.  The Winds aren't going to though as they'll be blustery from the W-NW at 20-25mph w/gusting.

Well...hello there April!

Mornin'!  It's 23° with snow flurries swirling around in the windy chill.  April Fools...just kidding!  It's 49° under clear skies (there's a few little clouds floating around up there which will make the morning sunrise quite picturesque) as the sun's due to cross the horizon in about a half hour.  It'll be mostly sunny today as temps tap the 60° mark and that's no April Fools joke!  Winds will be out of the West at 10-20mph.  There's a 20% chance of an isolated shower tonight.  But, today truly looks lovely and that's no joke!
