Muggies for the last day of May!

Mornin'!  Sayonara May! It's 66° in Wildwood.  It's calm as there are no breezes to mention.  It's fragrant as there's an aroma of sea in the air.  It's quiet as the island is still sleeping including the gulls.  It'll be at bit muggy today.  Temps are going into the mid-upper 80's.  Breezes will be out of the SW to start then from the South by later this afternoon all at 10-15mph.  There's clouds in the mix today bringing a 10% chance of a shower later including this evening.  Most forecasts I've checked are saying "no rain" though.  Don't have the air conditioner on yet, but the ceiling fans are all on including the floor fans which came out of storage and got a dusting off for summer that's peeking in!  Still looking like a nice warm weekend too. 21 days until Summer and I wonder if I can make it until then without an airconditioner running.

Mornin'!  It's 69° this balmy seashore morn as the island's heading toward high tide.  Temps are getting up into the low 80's again today as the sun pours down.  Ms. Sun's due up any moment as there's not a cloud in the sky.  Breezes will be out of the SW at 14-18mph.  It looks like a lovely day at the shore!

Mornin'!  It's 63° this break of dawn humpday.  Wildwood's currently under partly cloudy skies with breezes light from the SW.  Speaking of breezes, they'll ramp up a bit at 20-25mph a bit later.  There's a 20% chance of rain showers this morning giving way to clearing as the sun shines and temps rise into the low 80's.  It'll be partly cloudy/partly sunny all day.  Your pick.  Looks like Martha and the Vandellas may be checking in tomorrow...Heat Wave could be up next!

Mornin'!  It's 59° in Wildwood under partially cloudy skies.  I'm betting on a lovely sunrise with those pieces of clouds and big sections of blue, morning sky every which way you look.  Eventually, the clouds will gather and completely cover the island as rain showers are forcasted by lunchtime.  There's a 70% chance we'll have rain today.  Winds are nothing to write about but they'll begin to make their presence known later this morning coming from the South at 10-15mph and once the rains begin they'll be wifting (I mean wafting) still from the South at 25-30mph and by tonight gusting winds are in the mix.  Temps today should hit the low 70's.  So, as the island empties out even more than it did yesterday...commuters will probably be faced with a rainy ride home.  Tomorrow...the sun checks back in.  Had my first beach day this year yesterday.  It had the feel of a lovely summer day albeit the ocean's still painfully cold.  But, I'm so grateful to have had those few hours of feeding the soul.  This coming weekend all forecasts are predicting a very warm one by the way as more beach time is coming.  After all, there's only 24 days until Summer!

Mornin'!  It's 54° this Memorial Day break of dawn.  Sun's up and it's going to be a nice one today.  Temps are tapping the 70° mark as breezes are gentle from the West and shifting from the SW all at 4-6mph.  It'll be mostly sunny (some clouds in the mix today) as we have a dry, sunny, warm holiday.  There's a 20% chance of showers beginning late tonight.  Thank you to all our military who have given us the gift of freedom.  We salute you today!

Mornin'!  It's 54° in Wildwood.  The sky is clear as the sun's about to rise over the horizon.  This morning's winds have died down a bit and you would have thought yesterday was March.  Breezes will be kicking up later out of the W-NW at 20-25mph.  Just like the visitors and unavailable parking in Wildwood at the moment, there's going to be PLENTY of sunshine today. Temps will be tapping the 70° mark as the sun's shining down on the island all day.  Tomorrow...even nicer with calmer breezes and warmer temps.

Sun's peeking in today

Mornin'!  It's 50° in Wildwood this chilly, windy Memorial Weekend.  A bit different from last year that's for sure.  Winds are coming from the NW at 30-35mph with gusting.  We're way beyond a bad hair day.  I'm wondering if we're beyond kite flying.  Some of those kites are massive and I can only imagine what that's like trying to control them in these windy conditions on the beach at the International Kite Festival.  It'll be partly sunny/partly cloudy today as the rain is out of here.  Temps will be in the low-60's.  Tomorrow...still breezy and a tad warmer.  Monday...the pick of the weekend with temps tapping 70's and the winds outta here!  Full moon today...keep an eye on the tide water seeping in the streets...not for vehicles.  Everyone's here...get out and enjoy this 2013 Memorial Weekend!

Memorial Weekend 2013

Mornin'!  It's 65° in Wildwood.  It's a wee bit damp and dreary as it was just lightly raining and has momentarily stopped.  No need to water the gardens today.  The sky is overcast and gray and no breezes to write about.  My holiday weekend has begun as I have off from work for 4 days!  Rain or shine...some much needed r&r is in the works.  Today's forecast will be once again much like the rest of the week here on the island.  It'll be in the high 60's today with 60% chance of showers all throughout the day and a 40% chance tonight as temps drop back down into the mid 40's.  There could be a peek or two of sun as well thrown in today's forecast.  Breezes will ramp up by this afternoon out of the W-NW at 20-25mph and all forecasts I've checked said it's going to be a very breezy weekend (good for the International Kite Festival) with a couple bad hair days up ahead.  The weekend's looking fair with a slight possibility of a shower tomorrow and sunnier on Sunday.  Love when it's sunnier on Sundays.  Tomorrow is the Full moon so the tides are a bit higher than usual.  I think I've covered it.  This Memorial Weekend is looking pretty good.  Not great lounging on the beach days but certainly hanging around checking out the events...unlocking the ocean, Heroes festival,  Memorial Day Service, boardwalk craft show, Kite festival...it's all good.  Happy Memorial Weekend 2013!

Damp and Breezy

Mornin'!  It's 64° in the Woods.  The day is beginning with mist and stiff sea breezes.  Ms. Sun is trying her very best to be in the mix as it's pretty bright over at the direction of the sunrise...but it's looking like she's losing this battle.  I see some serious overcast and foggy conditions looking toward the east.  I had the windows open (facing East) in the bedroom last night and everything was damp this morning from the misty, salt air breezing in.  I'm not complaining...love that.  It's good for the complexion not to mention a terrific room freshener.  Temps will barely tap the 70° mark today as the clouds are the main attraction bringing with them an 80% chance of rain showers throughout the entire day into the evening.  Tomorrow...60% chance and Saturday...30% chance.  Weekend forecast is shifting a bit with showers looming throughout.  Today's winds will continue to be still at 25-30mph coming first from the S-SW and shifting to the South.  Full moon is tomorrow so keep a watch on higher tide water.  Don't drive through it.

Mornin'!  It's 64° in WW.  Sun's up.  Cloud's are in the mix.  Breezes are too.  It's a lovely, breezy, mild, fragrant morning at the shore.  Temps are heading to the low-mid 70s with clouds and breezes in the mix again.  There's a 20% chance of rain showers throughout the day.  Breezes will be from the SW-SSW at 17-24mph.  The holiday weekend's looking good...sunny and mild and a wee bit on the chilly side compared to the mainland which will be much warmer.  Full moon is this weekend too by the way. Today will be much like yesterday and the day before.

A Cape May grand lady with all her Gingerbread

 Mornin'!  It's 64° under slightly hazy, foggy skies.  The sun is on her way as she lightens and paints the sky lovely pastels as I type.  I don't think we'll see a whole lot of her today.  Not much in the line of breezes at the moment but they're also on their way from the S-SW at 13-16mph. Temps will rise into the low-mid 70's as the clouds hang out creating a partly cloudy/partly sunny Tuesday.  There's also a 20% chance of a thunderstorm later this afternoon.  I guess it'll basically be pretty much a repeat of yesterday with a bit more cloudiness.

Monday Mix

Mornin'!  It's 61° this gray, misty, slightly foggy morn in WW.  Took the weekend off from blogging.  Had my first seasonal weekend house guests and quite frankly I could have cared less about the weather.  I was enjoying the weekend rain or shine as we had a bit of both.  Today...some clearing will take place as the sun is expected throughout the day with periods of cloudiness.  There's also a 30% chance of a thunderstorm today.  Temps should hit the low-mid 70's as breezes blow over the island from the S-SW at 15-20mph. Same for tonight with temps dropping to the mid 60's.

A Perfect Friday!

Mornin'!  It's 63° in WW.  It's looking like another lovely beginning to the day.  Ms. Sun's just about up and there's not a cloud in the sky and she'll be hanging out all day long.  No breezes to mention.  Temps will tap that 70° mark again.  Light breezes will begin later from the North and shift a bit later from the N-NW all at 5-10mph.  Tonight...some light clouds will roll in with a 10% chance of a light shower overnight. Temps will go down into the mid-50's.  Weekend's looking "eh" as there's a 30% chance of showers tomorrow and 50% Sunday.  Remains to be seen.  Today though...perfection!

Mornin'!  It's 65° in Wildwood.  Yes...you read that right.  That's off the thermometer on my porch as well as 2 other forecasts.  Amazing.  It's mild and calm and clear and looking like a lovely sunrise this morning.  There are some clouds over the island which are painting the sky as I type.  Temps will go into the lo-mid 70's today with breezes light and pleasant.  First, from the North, then shifting to the E-SE at 3-6mph by noon.  There's also a 30% chance of an isolated shower but it'll be mostly sunny.  Now we're talking as it'll be

Humpday Variety

Mornin'!  It's 56° this morning in the Woods...almost 10° warmer than yesterday this time.  However...it's feeling chilly as the air is damp and the breezes are stiff at 20-25mph as it's a gray start to the day.  There's no sunrise this humpday as we're under heavy cloud cover.  It's looking like we'll have a variety of weather today.  Beginning with cloud cover, winds and rain showers this morning.  As temps climb into the mid-upper 60's, we're supposed to see some peeks of sun by midday with showers returning by late afternoon.  Breezes will simmer down but start out from the South and shift to the SW then shift again from the South...all at 15-20mph w/gusts.  Rain supposed to continue overnight and stay checked in for tomorrow.
***Footnote: Daybreak came under cloudy skies but it's almost 9a.m. and the sun is shining brightly with hardly a cloud in the sky!  It's a beautiful morning down the shore.  Talk about a forecast off the mark!!!

Sunny Tuesday

Mornin'!  It's 48° in WW.  Yes...you read that right.  May 14th...48° isn't making sense.  But, what weather does these days?  The weather over our country has been a bit crazy as of late.   Look out when Summer does arrive...I've been saying that when it comes...it's gonna hit hard...like 90°+ humid days; like air conditioners "on" almost immediately.  I think we're going to skip those lovely 75-80° days.  Remains to be seen but I'm sticking to my prediction.  Today will be sunny and mild with temps hitting the mid-upper 50's as the sun stays checked in all day.  Breezes will be light from the W-NW initially, then shifting from the West, then shifting one last time by dinner from the W-SW at 9-12mph.

Sunny Monday

Mornin'!  It's 48° in WW.  It's daybreak and Ms. Sun is on her way.  This morning's chill needs to get pushed out of here.  I still have some windows open in the house and it's just a tad brrrrrrr in here this morning.  No breezes at the moment but they're due up later from the W-NW at 15-20mph.  It'll be sunny today as temps climb up into the mid-high 50's.   I'm glad I didn't pack all my sweaters away this weekend while doing my "pack the sweaters away weekend" project.  It was a splendid Mother's Day by the way...one I'll always remember as all of my children got up early, drove 2 hours to the coast to surprise me by walking in the house unexpectedly, hanging out for the day and along with hubby...preparing dinner for me!

Mornin'!  It's 60° in Wildwood.  It's quiet with light rain coming down.  No breezes, but stillness with a light drizzle in the semi-darkness.  The island birds are heard as they make their presence known with chirping and squawking daybreak unfolds.  I've ordered up a sunny day for all you Mothers out there.  By noon...Ms. Sun will be breaking on through.  (that's what all forecasts I've checked are reporting).  For now though...thick, heavy cloud cover and light rain.  After the sun returns a bit later, so does the breeze...out of the N-NW at 16-18mph with temps in the mid-upper 60's.  Wait and see...a lovely day for all Mothers.  I know mine is already!  Happy Mother's Day!

Mostly Gray Saturday

Mornin'!  It's 60° in WW.  It's cloudy, mild and very breezy.  Sun's up but obscured by the clouds.  However, it's not total cloud cover as the sun's rays just poured into the house for about 3 minutes and everything became bright and sunny and just as quickly became dark as the clouds took over.  It's kind of a weird sky as there's lots of weather moving on all around us at the moment.  Thunder and pouring down rain on the canvas awnings woke me during the night.  Love that.   For today...mostly cloudy with scattered showers and/or thunderstorms throughout the day...60% chance.  By the looks of things my guess is peeks of sun here and there today as well.  Temperatures will be on the mild side as we should tap 70° again.  The breezes will stick around. First from the SE, shifting from the South and finally shifting again from the S-SW all at 20-30mph w/gusting.  Not sure how the East Coast National Car Show is going to play out with this "iffy" weather but the cars are in town...caught a sneek peek during my walk last night.  Today's project...going through the heavy winter sweaters before packing away for the season and bringing out the shorts and capris!  By the way...Mother's Day is looking brighter!

Mornin'!  It's 59° in Wildwood.  The sky is clear and Ms. Sun's crossing the horizon as I type.  It'll be a beauty today as Ms. Sun pours down.  Temps will be tapping the 70's as light breezes will wift (I mean waft) over the island.  First, from the West, then shift from the SW, then by this evening...South.  Speaking of this evening, a 60% chance of showers which could be the beginning of a period of off and on rain lasting until Sunday.  Looks nice for Mother's Day though.

Mornin'!  It's 56° under partially cloudy skies.  There's clearing up there but mostly clouds at the moment.  Not much in the line of breezes as it's very quiet and still.   Sunrise will be interesting as it could be colorful or dull...depending on the clouds and remains to be seen.  No fog this morning, but the forecast resembles yesterday's.  It'll be partly cloudy/partly sunny with temps reaching the mid-upper 60's.  Breezes will be calm and gentle today from the W-SW at 8-10mph.  There's a 60% chance of brief showers and/or thunderstorms throughout the day as the clouds seem to be the main attraction.

Mornin'!  It's 56° in WW.  Fog has once again settled in over the island giving Wildwood a San Francisco ambiance.  Typically,  foggy mornings and evenings like this happens in March.  It makes perfect sense as we've pretty much have been having March weather as of late this Spring.  Summer is coming though...43 days!  It'll be foggy most of the morning as sun is supposed to break on through.  It'll be partly sunny/partly cloudy today with temps heading into the mid-upper 60's.  No breezes this morning but they'll check in later from the South at 10-12mph.  Oh...there's a 40% chance of a scattered thunderstorm today as well.  Keep the umbrella close at hand.

Gray Day

Mornin'!  It's 52° in Wildwood.  It's misty, foggy and drippy...98% humidity.  Seems like it'll be another gray and blah day.  Temps will barely reach 60° as the fog and mist turns to a drizzle, then showers all day. Breezes are light now from the East at 10-13mph and will ramp up to 20-25 w/gusting.  Ms. Sun is pondering whether to check in tomorrow or not.  Remains to be seen.

A Bit Misty Out There

Mornin'!  It's 51° this misty morn.  Whenever I come across "misty" in the weather genre I think of Clint Eastwood in the movie "Play Misty For Me" and of course Johnny Mathis singing.  It's gray and damp and breezy under overcast skies.  The clouds are providing an insulator for sound as the ocean's roar is very loud and clear 6 blocks away.  There's a 20% chance of rain today and that chance increases with each passing day this week.  Not a great vacation week although good weather for a bar tan.  Temps will get up into the high 50's maybe even tapping 60°.  Breezes continue to follow the weekend format coming from the E-NE at 18-20mph.

Cinco De Mayo

Mornin'!  It's 48 chilly degrees in WW.  The clouds are checked in and the breezes are ramping up off that cold ocean.  Cinco De Mayo is a wee bit on the cold and raw side this year.  Temps are not going to get that much warmer but will get up into the 50's (lo-mid).  Clouds could bring some light showers this morning, but could make way for peeks of sun by this afternoon.  Those ocean breezes though aren't going anywhere...E-NE at 15-20mph w/some gusting.  While you're sipping your tequila sunrise or mojito, hope you've got your Mexican blanket handy for today's chill!

Mornin'!  It's 53° in WW this bright, sunny, beautiful morning.  The winds are off the ocean (E-NE) and will stay that way all throughout the day today at 15-20mph.  It's almost a repeat of yesterday with milder breezes and temps in the mid-upper 50's.  Tomorrow...a bit cloudier.  Today though...terrific day for the Wildwood Crest City Wide Yard Sale!

Bad Hair Friday

Mornin'!  It's 52° (same as the ocean).  It's a wee-bit cloudy but my bets are on another spendid sunrise as the clouds always kick it up a knotch as together they always make a splendid daybreak.  One way or another, the sun's on her way.  It'll be mostly sunny throughout the day with temps only going into the mid-50's.  The ocean breezes which are intense and cold coming off the ocean are going to keep things on the chilly side.  They'll be out of the E-NE at 25-30mph throughout the day.  We're talking a bad hair day without a doubt.  Tomorrow...much of the same although the breezes will be much quieter.

A Very Good Thing

Mornin'!  It's 49° in Wildwood.  It's still dark but daybreak is heading our way within the hour as the sky's beginning to lighten.  There's a mix of clouds in the sky which usually makes for an even more colorful, dimensional and interesting sunrise.  Breezes are light from the E-NE.  It'll be a nice one today as it'll be mostly sunny with some clouds in the mix and temperatures hanging around the mid-upper 50's and breezes staying light at 4-7mph first from the E-NE and shifting early this afternoon from the E-SE.  So far the forecasts for the weekend looks much like today which is a very good thing (sounds a bit like Martha Stewart), especially with the city wide yard sale happening in Wildwood Crest on Saturday.

May Day!

Mornin'!  It's 49° in Wildwood this 1st of May known as "May Day" aka "Loyalty Day"...a celebration to encourage citizens to demonstrate their love for their country.  It's historically also known as the day to celebrate Spring.  And a fine Spring day it will be!  Temps will rise to the mid-upper 50's much like the sun which is due to cross the horizon in just a few

minutes and I'm happy to say will stick around the entire day.  It should be a beauty as there's not a cloud in the sky.  Breezes will be off the ocean and a bit on the stiff side at 18-22mph from the E-NE all day making for these cooler temperatures than the mainland will have.  Happy May!
