April Finalé

Mornin'!  It's 52° in Wildwood NJ.  Blog's "Saturday Morning" late as I not only slept in, but was served fresh brewed coffee and a delicious veggie omelet all prepared by my loving hubby.   And, that was before giving the weather outside any thought.  I've checked and thought about it and it's crappy out there.  It's gray, and breezy (NE 15-17mph winds) and still has that "raw" feel.  It's still damp in the house (we're opting to not throw the furnace switch to on) but our little gas fireplace is terrific for taking out the chill.  We might (that's a mighty big "might") see peeks of sun today. Actually we had a brief (15 second) peek right before I began blogging. All forecasts are pointing to a cloudy day with rain coming in this evening (40% chance).  Temps will be in the mid-50s today and dropping back to the upper 40s with eastery breezes at 13-15mph tonight.  Tomorrow...waking to rain (100% chance) but it will go to the low 60s.  It looks like Rain is checked in until next weekend as every day this upcoming week has "showers" in the forecast.  Looks like April's enjoying her stay and has no plans on making way for May.

Mornin'!  It's 49° (no typo). We're back to a chill in the sea air. It's cold in the house this morning.  Last night we were tempted to fire up the ol' furnace to take the dampness out of our little seaside cottage but thankfully the gas fireplace is doing what it needs to do this morning. It'll be yet another chilly, damp, raw day down the shore.  Temps will barely get into the mid 50s as there's a 40% chance of rain showers throughout the day into this evening.  Sometime later this afternoon we could see peeks of sun but all forecast but one said cloudy and rainy right into this evening.  Winds will be out of the E-NE all day into this evening as well...16-20mph.  Even though we could possibly wake up to clouds breaking up for Ms Sun's sunrise...it'll be a mostly rainy (90% chance), damp, gray weekend.  Temps will be a little higher this weekend. But dreay is dreary.

Mornin'!  It's 50° in Wildwood NJ.  It's cloudy and still.  The birds seem happy and can be heard loud and clear all around the neighborhood.  It'll be a misty, wet Thursday as rain is on the menu.  It'll be cloudy with rain throughout most of the day and evening (90% chance).  Temps will be in the upper 50s.  Breezes (when they begin) will be out of the E-NE at 17-21mph.  Tonight...more of the same...clouds, rain showers, breezy (E-NE at 21-25mph) with temps dropping back down into the lower 50s.  Looks like a raw day down the shore. Ms Sun's due to check in Saturday.  Glad I didn't pack my winter sweaters away yet.

Hump Day Drearies

Mornin'!  It's 50° in Wildwood NJ.  For the record...the island got up to 82° yesterday.  First day for the 80s and a true taste of a summer day!  Not so much this hump day morning.  It's overcast and gray.  It's windy (E-NE 22-25mph).  It's ominous...no sunrise or peeks of sun.  In fact there's a 30% chance of a shower this morning.  We're in the midst of a cloudy, rainy stretch.  However, one forecast said peeks of sun by this afternoon. Remains to be seen.  Temps will barely tap 60° today as winds simmer down some (E-NE 13-15mph).  Tonight...mostly cloudy with temps in the low 50s and breezes out of the E-SE 10-12mph and a 20% chance of a shower.  Tomorrow...rain....Friday...slight chance of more rain.  Bring it April!

April Showers in the Wings

Mornin'!  It's 62° (no typo) in Wildwood NJ.  It's amazingly lovely outside this morning.  Birds are chirping, there's a light breeze off the ocean, the sounds of the surf pounding the coast is loud and clear (6+ blocks away) and Ms Sun's about to rise and shine.  She's got lots of cloud cover to deal with as the skies are full of clouds with some spots of clearing hear and there.  It's a recipe for a beautiful sunrise. We've got rain up ahead for today's forecast.  By this afternoon we'll have full cloud cover with 50% chance of scattered thunderstorms as temps rise into the low-mid 70s (again no typo).  Winds will switch from the SW at 20-22mph.  This evening...scattered showers and a chance of more thunderstorms with clouds through the night (60% chance).  Temps will drop to mid-upper 60s with breezes switching from the NE at 10-20mph.  The next couple days looks kind of gray and wet as showers are on the week's forecast up until Saturday.  I guess April Showers are finally kicking in!

Mornin'!  It's 50° in Wildwood NJ.  The sky is partially cloud covered as Ms Sun's on her way over the horizon.  In fact, she's just crossed it but with all the clouds...a magnificent sunrise is forming as I type.  It'll be partly cloudy today with temps tapping 60° and breezes out of the South at 10-20mph.  Tonight...more clouds join in as there's a 30% chance of developing rain showers.  Temps will drop to the mid-upper 50s as winds remain out of the South at 17-24mph. Tomorrow looks like more of the wet stuff.

Mornin'!  It's 47° in Wildwood NJ.  The sky is beginning to lighten as Ms Sun's waiting to rise.  It's clear and will be all day as it looks like a lovely Spring day is on tap.  No breezes at the moment but they will begin a bit later this morning from the N-NE at 13-15mph.  Temps will rise into the mid-upper 50s (probably tapping 60°) as the sun shines down.  Tonight...clear and calm with breezes shifting from the S-SE at 13-15mph.  Temp will drop back down into the mid-upper 40s.  Tomorrow...10 degrees warmer and sunny but rain is due tomorrow night.

50/50 Weekend

Mornin'!  It's 60° in Wildwood NJ.  It'll be a 50/50 weekend in the weather department. We're under gray, cloudy skies with misty rain (it's not really raining down but everything's dripping).  Nice day to have off from work and sleep in.  All the birds seem happy with these conditions as the island's alive with them making their presence known.  It'll be 50-50 today and now it seems things have changed up a bit.  It was supposed to be misty/rain this morning only but most forecasts say rain showers off and on throughout most of the day but clearing tonight.  Temps will be in the upper 60s with winds out of the North at 15-18mph.  I'm counting on some peeks of sun later today...not giving up there. Tonight...clear, low 50s with winds still out of the North at 14-17mph.  Tomorrow...sunny and Spring like (60ish and light breezes).

Full Moon Earth Day!

Mornin'!  It's 58° in Wildwood NJ.  It's calm with no breezes.  Full Moon today so keep your eye on the tides! Ms Sun's due up any moment but the clouds look like they'll obscure her grand entrance for this morning's sunrise.  The clouds are just overhead but the horizon is bright and sunny so who will win out remains to be seen.  My guess is Ms Sun will make her grand entrance then clouds will begin increasing making for an exquisite sunrise.  We're supposed to have a cloudy day though with showers by tonight.  For today...temps will be tapping 70° as breezes commence out of the S-SW at 17-22mph.  By this afternoon it looks like light rains showers (50% chance) and that'll lead right into this evening and even tomorrow morning.  Tonight's temps...upper 50s/low 60s.  The weekend's still 50-50 and by Sunday...Ms Sun returns.

The Hits Just Keep On Coming

Mornin'!  It's 49° in Wildwood NJ.  The sky is clear and bright with Ms Sun waiting in the wings to rise and shine in about another 15 minutes.  No breezes to note this early morn.  Birds are up early and chirping and squawking everywhere on the island singing sounds of joy.  At least that's what it sounds like to me.  It'll be a repeat of this week's previous days...sunny, blue sky, temps in the upper 60s/low 70s with Southerly breeze at 15-20mph.  Tonight...some clouds drift in as temps drop into the low 50s and SW breezes are noticeably stronger at 20-30mph.  Looks like rain showers tomorrow night into Saturday morning.  But the rest of the weekend is almost another hit.

Mornin'!  It's 43° in Wildwood NJ.  We're currently under chilly, but pleasant conditions with clear starlit skies and barely a breeze.  It's looking like another lovely Spring day down the shore.  Temps should hover around the mid-upper 50's with Ms Sun pouring down keeping the chill to a minimum.  Winds will be light and out of the NE at 10-12mph.  Tonight...clear and calm with temps back down into the low 40s.  The weekend looks like a repeat of today although a tad warmer with each day (at least up until Tuesday).  Spring's certainly in the air on the South Jersey coast for a few days! Count your blessings...Colorado could see up to a half of foot of the white stuff this weekend!

It's Coming!

Mornin'!  It's 42° in Wildwood NJ.  It's still dark with clear, starlit skies and nice and breezy too.  It's chilly out there!  When I came in from the checking conditions outside I said "Brrr...it's cold out!" My husband's response was "Cold? Come on that's not cold!" That sea breeze goes right through you.
I'm anticipating something of a warm up today as Ms Sun's checking in! Woohoo!  In fact, it looks like she's staying for a week.  It'll be in the low 50s today while the sun shines with breezes out of the N-NE at 15-17mph.  Tonight...clear with breezes out of the E at 15-20mph and temps in the low 40s (possibly down into the upper 30s).  Tomorrow, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday... all look the same with the temperature inching a bit higher up with each passing day (Monday could be in the mid-upper 60s). Come on Spring!

Rainy Start

Mornin'!  It's 54° and raining at a good clip in Wildwood NJ.  It's windy as we're getting sand blasted from the NW at 20-30mph w/gusting.  We're going to have periods of rain today at least until later this afternoon.  Ms Sun's due in before dinner time.  Temps will rise a bit into the low 60s today and by tonight drop down into the upper 30s (another night to consider covering the plants).  Winds will calm down as they shift first from the West this afternoon (N-NW) and then North (15-19mph) tonight.  Not sure when Spring or those little peeks of Summer will ever show up this year. The upcoming weekly forecast does look fair...sunny and upper 50s right through this weekend...remains to be seen I guess.

Mornin'!  It's 47° in Wildwood.  It's cloudy and windy with a 40% chance of rain sprinkles this morning.  It's supposed to clear late morning as we'll probably see gradual clearing and breaks in the clouds with sunshine by this afternoon.  Temps will get into the low 60s as winds have decided to stay checked in today and tonight.  Today...S-SW at 23-33mph. Tonight...South 26-41mph.  Temps will drop down into the low 50s.  More rain again tonight for the overnight and right into tomorrow.  We're seriously getting March and April weather and it stinks.  Focus on the flowers (bought 3 mini rose bushes this weekend)!

Mornin'!  It's 33° in Wildwood NJ.  Not a drop of the white stuff yesterday (although we had a couple bouts of the wintry mix).  There were reports of snowfall and some minor accumulations on the mainland.  For now...the clouds are outta here as the sky is clear and bright while Ms Sun prepares to cross the horizon.  It's breezy with winds out of the N-NW at 18-20mph.  Winds will shift completely eventually from the N-NE at 10-15mph and then from the SE and by this evening...South at 15-20mph.  It'll be balmy today as temps rise into the low-mid 40s and head back into the upper 30s tonight while the sky remains clear at least until tomorrow evening.  Monday evening into Wednesday evening looks cloudy with the possibility of rain showers.  Well...it is April.

April Showers...

Summer Shot - Wildwood NJ

Mornin'!  It's 44° in Wildwood NJ.  It's gray and misty and raining every so slightly with breezes from the South at 20-25mph.  Feeling raw and miserable out there.  Nice morning to sleep in.  We're having those ol' April showers as it'll be a wet day today with temps dropping later.  I think 44° is the "high" for today.  We may be seeing peeks of sun as well as hearing some thunderstorms later today which could be producing even heavier winds and a couple forecasts are reporting small hail and/or snowy mix.  Chance of precipitation is 100%.  Tonight...cloudy with more rain and/or snow showers as temps drop into the low 30s producing "freeze warnings".  I'd cover those young, delicate plants.  Winds will pick up this evening out of the N-NW at 35-40mph. There's a 60% chance of precipitation tonight. Then a gradual clearing begins as we wake to Ms Sun crossing the horizon (6:27a.m. tomorrow).  It'll still be in the low-mid 40s tomorrow but with blue skies.  Could have more rain on Monday and Tuesday.  Just saying...April showers.  Keep thinking "May" and all those flowers.  Or, better yet..."June" and all those beach days!

Mornin'!  It's 45° in Wildwood.  It's breezy (West-22mph) and clear with starlit skies. We're tapping 50° today with a mix of clouds and sun.  Breezes aren't going anywhere.  Ms Sun is though as she'll be crossing the horizon any time now. Tonight...more of the same with temps heading down into the low 40s and breezes calming down a bit and shifting from the E-SE.  Here's the kicker...tomorrow...a wintry mix (80% chance) is up ahead as there's a freeze warning for early morning (perfect reason to sleep in) and again tomorrow night as temps may be in the upper 20s (no typo) as it rains and snows.  What on earth???  Sunday...sunny and calm and 50ish.  I'm playing "Summer Wind" by Frank Sinatra as I blog this morning.  52 days until Memorial Day!

Mornin'!  It's 51° in Wildwood.  We're currently cloudy and windy (South 25-30 w/gusts).  Rain's-a-coming this morning (90% chance) as it'll be a crapola day with rain, stiff winds and possible thunderstorms.  There's an ugly westerly weather system heading right for the coast.  But, we still could see 60° on the thermometer along with glimpses of the sunshine through the breaks in the clouds.  It's one of those days you'd prefer to not get out of bed and leave the house.  Tonight...30% chance of showers as temps back down to upper 40s/low 50s with W-SW winds at 21-35mph. Tomorrow...sunny.  Saturday...rain and snow mix! I almost made a comment on that one.

Mornin'!  It's 34° in Wildwood.  We're still in Winter-Mode as it's crisp and clear and calm this early morn.  No breezes to note but baby it's cold outside!  Ms Sun's on her way and will be rising over the horizon in less than an hour as she'll be checked in today with temps tapping 50°.  Winds will be calm until this afternoon when they'll pick up from the S-SE at 20-30mph.  Tonight...very breezy and cold as temps head back down into the low 40s.  Tomorrow...rain and wind check in. Oh...the New Moon's tomorrow...could see some extra tidal flooding  This weekend...50-50 with rain on Saturday and sun on Sunday.

Mornin'!  It's 34° in Wildwood!  Last night's rainy-wind storm brought some cold temps. It's breezy and cold outside.  I'm sure there's a chill factor too.  We're not totally away from the feel of winter yet that's for sure.  Even though it'll be a sunny day, it'll feel very cold and blustery with off shore breezes out of the N at 25-30mph and temps just about tapping 40°.  Tonight...more of the same with clear skies, low-mid 30s for temps and breezes staying checked in from the N-NE at 15-25mph.  Tomorrow...back to low 50s with more of Ms Sun pouring down.  Thursday...rain pouring down.  The weekend...more winter in store.

Spring Storm Up Ahead

Mornin'!  It's 48° in Wildwood.  The dark morning sky is clear, starlit and moonlit.  Those leftover March winds are still hanging and I regret to report will continue to do so until the end of this week.  At the moment the winds are lighter than they have been (15-25mph out of the SW) but will be wifting (wafting) over the island later today from the SW at 25-32mph w/gusting.  Here's the kicker...even though we've got some quieter conditions with a beautifully brightening sky at the moment and all the while Ms Sun lies in wait right under the horizon for her turn to rise and shine, it'll become cloudy with a Spring storm up ahead and rain showers today (80% chance).  Temps will climb into the mid 60s today and by tonight back down into the upper 30s as the rains continue through the evening (100% chance) and winds ramp up nicely once again out of the North at 27-33mph w/40+mph gusts.  Tomorrow...back to sunshine with cold and windy conditions.

First Sunday in April???? Feeling like March!!!

Mornin'!  It's 39° in "March-Like" Wildwood.  We've got winds out of the NW at 35-45mph with some intense gusting and it all began around 11p.m. last night and hasn't let up.  Talk about "loss of sleep"!  I'm lucky if I got 2 hours tops.  It's freight train sounding outside with howling and moaning winds over the island
in this sunny morn.  Oh yes...Ms Sun's up and at'em.  It's cold and feels even colder with the intensity of the wind gusts.  It'll be sunny today with temps in the mid-upper 40s.  Winds aren't going anywhere and will do their "March" thing today into this evening.  Tonight...clear and in the low 40s with winds shifting from the SW at 20-30mph w/gusting.  Tomorrow looks like rain in the evening.

Shades of Gray Saturday

Mornin'!  It's 53° in Wildwood.  Another "slept-in" Saturday and it feels great!  Especially when you can hear rain pouring down on the skylight.  It's raining down (lightly at the  moment but was pouring early this morning) and slightly breezy. This alone made it so lovely to roll over and sleep some more. It appears we're going to have a washout today (and tonight).  Forecasts are saying rain today - 90% chance (although one did say peeks of sun this afternoon) with temps hovering around where they are right now.  And, tonight 40% chance of showers.  Not much movement on the temperature today at least until tomorrow.  Eyebrow Up Sunday looks like mid 40s and Sunday night mid 30s...just saying. And, lets talk winds...they will be significant as they're going to begin to pick up and by this afternoon checking in from the SW at 25-40mph w/gusting!  And, the winds aren't going anywhere as tomorrow will be even windier with 40° temps = Chill Factor!  Guess March hasn't completely checked out yet.

April's Here!

Mornin'!  Welcome April!  It's 55° in foggy Wildwood.  We're rolling in the deep fog at the moment.  It sounds like it's raining out but it's just the moisture in the air with dripping sounds taking over the morning silence and darkness.  It's a bit breezy (nothing like the overnite winds as we've quieted down significantly).  Looks like a rainy April Fool's day as there's a 60% chance of rain and even the possibility of a thunderstorm.  Temps will get up into the mid-upper 60s.  And, winds will wift (I mean waft) in from the South at 20-30mph w/gusting.  Tonight...cloudy with showers (50% chance), temps in the mid-upper 50s and breezes shifting from the SW at 10-20mph.  Tomorrow's looking mostly cloudy with rain in the forecast (70% chance) with those crapola winds blowing in tomorrow night.  Sunday...some sun but cold (low-mid 40s). Not a great way to start off a new month...but April brings the showers and you know the rest.
