Mornin'! It's 67° in Wildwood NJ. It's breezy (NE 15-20mph). And, Ms Sun just broke-on-through! I slept in a bit today since we turned the air conditioner on last night and since it provided darkness and quiet, I unconsciously enjoyed the early morning cozy surroundings. The air conditioner is working perfectly so far; so good. There comes a point where you have to try it out and see if it's needing a tune up. One should never assume you'll be cool and comfortable as the summer heat will eventually take over in the weather department. This beautiful "still Spring-like" weather isn't sticking around much longer. We're not fans of having the house closed up with the air conditioner on all summer either as there's no sense of what's going on outside like hearing the seagulls squawking, screams from the amusement rides, "watch the tramcar please" recording and Fox Park's concerts (if the winds are just right) but even more important the aromas of the island...the marsh, the ocean, the island's sand warming, summer barbeque and for the most part happy, laughter from people all around. We're contemplating leaving the ac unit on until after the 4th of July. This will be my 14th Independence Day down the shore and it is a true test of endurance living here that holiday. We're a sleepy little town of approximately 5,000 pp. for each municipality. On the 4th of July...that turns to easy 200,000+ and that's without a Tim McGraw beach concert and a Foam 'n Glow EDM Party as well as Philly Pop's 4th of July beach concert with spectacular fireworks! Crowded doesn't even come close to describing what's up ahead next weekend. Getting into the grove of the celebration is one thing, but closing yourself in the house in the air conditioning and away from the insanity helps to maintain mindful peace.
Mornin'! It's 69° in Wildwood NJ. Happy Summer! It's hard to believe it's here again! Time flies when you're having fun. It'll be a summery beauty today as temps get into the low-mid 80s with abundant sunshine and light breezes (S-SE 5-9mph). Tonight...some clouds will filter in as temps go back down into the low 70's and breezes will be out of the S-SW at 17-23mph. Looks like rain tomorrow. Today's full moon falls on the summer solstice. We'll not only have much higher tides but the bright Full Moon (Strawberry Moon) will be shining while the bright sun will be shining. Data shows that this rare occurrence has happened only about 7 times since June 20th 1796.
Mornin'! It's 65° in Wildwood NJ. Happy Father's Day to all the father's out there this one's for you and expecially my husband who's one of the best dads ever!
Mornin'! Happy Father's Day Weekend! I've ordered up a perfect weekend for you Dads out there! It's 59° in Wildwood. It's on the chilly side with Ms Sun pouring down. Not much in the line of breezes (NE 5-6mph). It's another fragrant morn with the marsh aroma covering the island. The island's birds sound happy. It'll be a lovely weekend morning to close out Spring. The Summer Solstice is upon us (Monday 6/20) along with the Full Moon which is a rare event as the Full Moon rising with the first day of Summer hasn't occurred for nearly 70 years. Ms Sun's checked in for a few days (at least until Tuesday morning). Breezes will be light out of E-SE at 5-10mph. Tonight...mid-60s with clear moonlit skies and breezes out of the South at 5-10mph. Tomorrow...much of the same but just a smidgen warmer.
Mornin'! It's 67° in Wildwood NJ. It's overcast and a little breezy (North 6-8mph). The clouds will give way to sunshine a little later this morning as we've got a sunny day on tap. Temps will be in the mid-upper 70s as breezes shift from the North to the NW at 7-10mph. Tonight...clear skies with mid-upper 60s for temps as breezes shift from the SW at 6-8mph. Tomorrow...pretty much a repeat of today but showers are in the evening forecast for hump day.
Mornin'! It's 61° in Wildwood NJ. Ms Sun's checked in and shining brightly. Breezes are out of the N-NW at 14-18mph. Once again the seagulls and island birds are all making their presence known. It's another lovely start to the day! It'll be pleasant today with sun pouring down, light breezes and temps in the mid-upper 70s. Tonight...clear and pleasant with temps back down into the low 60s and breezes out of the SW at 5-10mph. Tomorrow...more of the same and even warmer with a possibility of rain showers (50% chance) in the evening. Sunday...waking to showers and turning warm and breezy. Looks like a nice week up ahead too if your vacation's coming up!
Mornin'! It's 64° in Wildwood NJ. We've got another lovely morning. The sky is clear as Ms Sun's up and at'em. No breezes to note (yet). The island birds and seagulls are the best part of the morning as they're chirping and squawking (I like to think of it as laughter) everywhere around the neighborhood. And, living near Otten's harbor we get our share of ducks quacking as they're sounding pretty happy too. I always refer to having our ducks while Key West has their chickens and roosters! It'll be a partly nice one today as the morning starts out sunny and mild while temps climb up to the low 70s. By mid-day things begin to change. First it'll become windy...W-NW at 16-20mph and by noon...32-39mph as a cool (temps will drop), storm front will be aiming right for us. Expect those "ghostbuster" clouds to roll in quickly with winds and rain and thunder and lightning being on the afternoon menu (60% chance). We got a similar storm front with those dramatic storm clouds and winds last evening around dinner time and it only drizzled for 5 minutes and passed on through. Today's storm will be a fast mover so it should move through quickly. Tonight...clearing out but the winds are staying checked in...W-NW 20-30mph. Temps down into the upper 50s! Tomorrow's looking nicer...calmer, sunnier and milder. The weekend...eh...the jury's still out but Sunday's looking like the better of the two days!
Mornin'! It's 67° in Wildwood. Humidity's 96%. We've got gray skies, fog and mist. Breezes have just begun to made their presence known out of the SW 8-10mph. There's that "drippy" sound coming from trees, downspouts, roofs etc. Everything's soaked but it's not raining. You get that a lot on an island. It'll be a rainy one today once things get rolling. There's a 90% chance of rain and scattered thunderstorms (some could be severe) with winds out of the SW at 15-18mph. Temps will hover in the mid-upper 70s range. Tonight...more of the same with temps back down into the lo-mid 60s and breezes out of the W-SW at 17-23mph. At least we got one day (yesterday) this weekend with perfect summer weather. For that I'm very grateful. Got to Wildwood's Farm Market at Pacific and Schellenger Aves for some produce, the Beach tcheck out the vintage beach buggies and motor cycles for the Gentlemen's Race and was lucky enough to catch the kick off of the Elks Parade as The Wildwood Elks were leading them on! Nice day. Today...not so much.
Mornin'! It's 65° in Wildwood NJ. It's sunny and mild and no breezes to note. It'll be a nice day for the Elks Convention and their parade as well as the Gentlemen's Race on the beach. Sun's in the forecast for today with breezes out of the SE at 5-10mph. Temps will get into the mid-upper 70s. Tonight...temps back into the mid 60s as clouds filter in. There's a 20% chance of a rain shower too. Breezes out of the S-SE at 12-16mph. Tomorrow...rain.
Mornin'! It's 63° in Wildwood, NJ. It's misty and foggy. I thought I heard it raining down when I first woke but discovered that it's just fog and mist and a huge amount of moisture in the air as the island's soaking wet and dripping everywhere. Breezes are out of the East at 9-11mph. It'll be cloudy and misty all throughout the day and evening. There's a 60% chance of rain showers in the morning but should be just a cloudy day again today. There's always that one forecast that mentions peeks of sunshine. That remains to be seen by the looks of things. Temps will tap the low 70s as breezes wift (waft) over the island from the E-SE at 9-10mph. Tonight...clouds and back down into the mid 60s with breezes out of the South at 5-6mph. The weekend's looking ½ and ½ as Saturday appears to be the better of the two days with Ms Sun showing up a bit for the festivities. www.wildwoodsnj.com Sunday will be like today...gray.
