Mornin'!  It's 65° in Wildwood NJ.  We're under cloud cover with breezes stiff out of the E-NE at 15-25mph.  Ms Sun's trying so hard to come through and shine but the clouds are winning this contest at the moment. It'll partly cloudy / partly sunny day with a 20% chance of showers (late morning / early afternoon) and by then we should see Ms Sun as the clouds move aside.  Winds will be checked in all day from the East at 15-20mph as temps stay right about where they are now.  That'll keep us on the cool side since that sea breeze isn't warm yet.  Speaking of warm...yesterday afternoon my back porch thermometer said 87°.  It was the first real summery day this year in Wildwood.  We're talking neighbors jumping into the harbor to cool off! Today the heat will be out of here.  Tonight...upper 50's, breezes out of the E-NE at 10-15mph and mostly cloudy. Tomorrow... a mix of clouds and sun with temps in the upper 60s.

Lush and Lovely Last April Weekend

Mornin'!  It's 70° in Wildwood!  Now we're talking!  No typo.  It's 70° at 7:30 in the morning!  It's a lovely, lush morning on the island.  Everything's damp from the overnight thunderstorms.  All the outdoor plants are looking happy as everything's beginning to look very green and in "forward-ho" growth mode.  The seagulls seem happy as well expressing their joy with lots and lots of neighborhood chatter and laughter.  It's what woke me (all windows are cracked open).  The aromas of the island (warming sand, ocean and marshlands) are surrounding us!  At the moment Ms Sun's shining down and breezes are light out of the SW at 5-8mph.  It'll be mostly lovely today but with a mix of clouds and sunshine, temps in the upper 70s (possibly tapping 80°) with breezes out of the SW at 10-20mph.  Tonight and the overnight...40% chance of more of those scattered showers (possible thunderstorms) as temps drop back down into the upper 50s and breezes out of the E-NE at 10-15mph.  We may wake to those showers as the clouds and the lower temps are checking in for Sunday.

Mornin'!  It's 59° in Wildwood NJ.  It's cloudy and still (no breezes to note).  We must have had a shower earlier as everything's damp.  We still could get another stray shower or even a thunderstorm this morning as clouds give way to Ms Sun by this afternoon.  Temps could get into the low 70s as breezes come in from the SW at 5-10mph.  Tonight...cloudy, temps in the upper 50s and breezes out of the South at 10-15mph.  The weekend's still looking like a mix of clouds and sun but the temps have increased as we're looking at upper 70s / possibly tapping 80° on Saturday with Sunday looking sunnier but cooler.

It's the first time in over a week the clouds are breaking up as dawn's approaching.  I'm not sure how much of we'll see of Ms Sun doing the rising and shining thing this morning but it'll be much brighter than its been since a week ago Tuesday.  It'll be partly cloudy / partly sunny today with temps in the low 60s and breezes out of the S-SE at 10-20mph.  Tonight...same....partly cloudy / partly sunny with temps in the upper 50s and breezes out of the South 10-20mph.  Rain (50% chance) is due in on the overnight and we could wake to leftover showers before becoming sunny tomorrow.  April's intent on sprinkling her showers down as she takes her bow and readies us for May on Monday.

Mornin'!  It's 54° in Wildwood NJ.  It's overcast and gray and misty again.  There's a light breeze out of the East at 10-15mph.  All forecasts are saying another gray one on tap.  There's even a 20% chance of an isolated shower or two today.  Fog's on the weather menu for tonight.  Not one forecast is saying sunshine today.  Temps will tap the 60° mark with breezes out of the N-NE at 5-10mph.  Tonight...fog with temps in the upper 50s with winds light and variable.  Who knows when Ms Sun will check in again?  One forecast said peeks tomorrow.  The weekend's now looking "iffy" as there's more grayness heading this way mainly for Sunday as Saturday's looking just partly cloudy.  Almost forgot to mention...There's a New Moon today (higher than usual tides)!

Miserable Tuesday

Mornin'!  It's 53° in Wildwood NJ.  We've got some weather happening this morning!  It's very windy with Winds out of the North at 25-30mph.  It's foggy and misty and combined with those winds...you've got yourself a nice facial!  It's going to be a serious bad hair day too.  No sunshine at all today as temps are heading to the upper 50s with showers forecasted throughout the day and evening into the overnight.  We could even see a thunderstorm this afternoon. The winds will be the headliner out of the E-NE at 25-40mph +gusting.  They'll eventually decrease late tonight. Tonight's temps...back to what they are now...53°...same as the ocean temps.  Tomorrow...calmness and sunshine!  Oh...the weekend's looking nice...mostly sunny (some clouds hanging in the mix) with temps in the low 70s.

Rainy Monday (and Tuesday)

Mornin'!  It's 51° in Wildwood NJ.  It's overcast and cloudy.  It was raining about an hour ago but has stopped.  There's a light breeze out of the North at 8-10mph.  It'll be a washout today as there's a gray, wet day on tap.  We're supposed to get morning showers, then a steady rain, then soaking rains later this afternoon.  Temps will stay around that low-mid 50° mark.  Winds will ramp up and start wifting (wafting) from the NE at 10-20mph.  Tonight...rain and winds (NE 20-22mph w/gusting) with temps in the low 50s.  Tomorrow...repeat of today!  We're coming up to a "New" moon (on Wednesday) and you know what New Moons and Full Moons do to the tides so with all this rain...expect some tidal flooding.

Mornin' and Happy Earth Day!  It's 55° in Wildwood NJ.  It's gray with a steady rain coming down.  No breezes to note.  I'm grateful to have a rainy Saturday to sleep in! It'll be rainy throughout the day (90% chance) . In fact, it'll be gray with on and off rain showers up until Wednesday.  Tomorrow looks to be just gray and cloudy (maybe even a peek or two of sunshine) at least up until tomorrow night when the skies open up again (70% chance).  The temps will hover around the upper 50s today with breezes commencing out of the N-NE at 12-15mph.  Tonight...more rain (70% chance) with temps in the upper 40s / low 50s and breezes out of the North at 10-15mph.  This rainy system will be sticking around until Wednesday so they say.  Sorry for that weekend forecast but it is April.

Friday Mix

Mornin'!  It's 54° in Wildwood NJ.  The soup's on!  The island's encased in fog this early morn.  Everything's wet and drippy.  It sounds like it's raining but it's just all the heavy moisture in the air.  There is a possibility of rain showers this morning and even a thunderstorm by this afternoon but overall Ms Sun and the Clouds will be competing most of the day.  Yesterday turned into a sunny-blue sky day unlike what was forecasted so who knows what weather is up ahead for today. Seems like it's always a crap shoot. But one thing is for sure...
temps will be in the upper 60s and even tap the 70s.  Breezes are nothing to note now but will eventually come out of the SE at 5-10mph.  Tonight...increasing clouds with a 40% chance of rain as temps drop back to where they are now...mid 50s with breezes out of the NE at 5-10mph.  The weekend's now looking gray as Saturday night into Sunday night has a 60-80% chance of showers.  In fact, this upcoming rain system seems to be checking in until Wednesday afternoon.

Perfect Spring Day

Mornin'!  It's 53° in Wildwood NJ.  We've got brilliant sunshine and breezes out of the E-NE at 15-20mph.  It's on the cooler side but a lovely morning.  The seagulls are laughing which tells me they're in total agreement.  It's good to be home.  After an extraordinary vacation in Georgia at the wedding of our daughter this Easter weekend, we arrived home after a 17 hour drive late last evening.  As always...a familiar, refreshing feeling when driving over the bridge onto the island with the windows down allowing the fragrance of the salt air into my lungs revived me.  I slept with the window open as well.  It's good to be home.  Back to weather blogging...after feeling like I had a terrific night's sleep after a very long travel day yesterday,  I woke to Ms Sun peeking through the drapery.  It'll be a lovely Spring day with temps tapping 60° and breezes out of the E-NE at 15-20mph.  Tonight...clear (few passing clouds) with temps in the mid-upper 40s with Easterly breezes at 10-20mph.  Tomorrow...cooler and cloudier.

Okay...another hiatus on the ol' blogging is on my horizon.  Number One child (our first daughter) will be tying the knot tomorrow. Mornin'!  It's 49° in Wildwood NJ.  It's partly cloudy with winds out of the W-SW at 12-17mph...breezy morning out there!  The breeze was the first thing I noticed stepping onto the back porch.  We had some wind and rains on the overnight but it looks like that weather system is outta here.  Today will be breezy right through this evening with Westerly winds at 25-35mph w/gusting (40+mph).  It'll be mostly cloudy with peeks of sun and temps right about where they are now...upper 40s / low 50s.  Tonight...cold and wintry along with clouds (beginning to clear out) and winds (staying checked in).  Temps will drop into the mid-upper 30s with winds out of the W-NW 20-30mph.  The weekend's still looking sunny with temps in the upper 50s however these leftover March winds aren't going anywhere and will hang around all day tomorrow and hopefully check out on Sunday.

April Showers...

Mornin'!  It's 49° in Wildwood NJ.  We're under very heavy, thick, bright, white cloud cover in the darkness this morning.  No rain but the ocean's roaring and it's incredibly loud from 10 minutes (by walking) away.  Sounds like I'm beach front property!  Those clouds (creating all this intensity) are about to open up and begin raining on the island any time now.  It's supposed to rain off and on throughout the day as temps go up into the mid-upper 50s. Strong winds which have yet to begin will ramp up later this morning (S-SE 25-35mph with gusts as high as 45mph). Thunderstorms are likely and some storms may be severe...heavy rain and damaging winds could be what's ahead today.  Tonight...mostly cloudy with winds staying checked in (SW 15-25 w/gusting).  There's a 30% chance of a shower or two.  Temps will drop into the upper 40s.  The weekend's still looking sunny and bright but breezy.

Wildwood had a beach day as we reached 75° and that's no April Fool's joke.  It'll be clear and sunny today with temps hovering around the low-mid 60s and breezes out of the W-NW at 10-15mph.  Tonight...mostly clear as temps drop back into the upper 40s with clouds developing late.  There's an 80% chance of rain on the overnight with winds kicking up...E-SE at 20-30mph and a possible passing thunderstorm or two.  It's likely we'll wake to more thunder, rain and winds tomorrow. At this time, the weekend's looking a-okay with plenty of sun and temps in the upper 50s / low 60s.

"Mostly" Sunny Tuesday

Delaware Bay

Mornin'!  It's 52° in Wildwood NJ.  It's partially clear with fast moving, wind driven (SW 14-20mph) clouds.  You can actually see the thick cloud cover moving out and making way for a clearing out.  You can hear the ocean's waves crashing when you step outside and we all know I love that sound since I don't hear it often living 6+ blocks from the (very wide) beach. We had heavy, steady rains on the overnight but now appears dry outside (the winds are doing their "blow-drying" thing).  I was happy that I got all my leafy green seeds (kale, collards, lettuce varieties, spinach, parsley, and cilantro) planted this weekend as I was hoping for that needed watering after planting (still have the outdoor water and hose shut off). So, these morning clouds will eventually give way to sunshine as temps rise into the low 60s.  It'll stay breezy with those SW winds at 15-25mph.  Tonight...clear, upper 40s / low 50s with West winds at 10-15mph.

Mornin'!  It's 49° in Wildwood NJ.  It's clear and starlit.  Ms Sun's waiting in the wings for the ol' rise and shine in about an hour.  It's still with hardly a breeze wifting (wafting) over the island (North 2-3) mph.  It'll be mostly sunny all morning with clouds filtering in by this afternoon.  Temps will be in the mid-upper 50s with breezes South at 13-18mph.  Tonight...even thicker cloud cover due in as rain is headed our way and should touch down later tonight into the overnight as temps head back into the upper 40s with winds out of the S-SE at 20-30mph.  Those rains and winds are heading right into tomorrow.
