It's Halloween!

Mornin'!  Happy Halloween!  It's 62° in Wildwood NJ.  Ms Sun's up and over the horizon.  Breezes are light out of the SW at 4-8mph.  It's a beautiful autumn morning down the Shore.  We're going to have record high temps this Halloween.  Expect those vivid blue skies again with plentiful sunshine, temps in the mid-upper 70s and SW breezes at 10-15mph.  Tonight... mostly clear and breezy, temps in the mid-60s and SW winds at 10-20mph.  Tomorrow... partly sunny / partly cloudy with 15% chance of a shower, temps in the mid-70s and W-SW windsw at 10-20mph.  Tomorrow night... partly to mostly clear, temps in the low-60s and W-NW breezes.  As for this coming weekend... both Saturday and Sunday will be mostly sunny, temps in the low-60s with light and variable breezes.  It's time to say good-bye to another month.  For Wildwood NJ... October's weather has been fantastic this year albeit "dry".  We can only hope that next October is as beautiful.  Florida surely wouldn't agree with me as their entire Hurricane season has been one of the most intense of the season with October being no exception.  Until next year October, see ya on the other side!  Rest easy and Trick or Treat!

Mischief Night - Beautiful Hump Day

Mornin'!  It's 59° in Wildwood NJ.  It's clear with dawn approaching.  The sky is beginning to brighten as Ms Sun is on the move.  She'll be showing her bright glow in less than a half an hour.  Winds are light out of the SW at 4-6mph.  It'll be a mostly sunny day with some wispy clouds in the mix.  Temps will reach the low-70s with SW winds at 5-10mph.  Tonight... mostly clear, temps in the low-60s and SW breezes at 5-10mph.  Tomorrow... sunny with record high temps... mid-70s with SW winds at 10-20mph.  Tomorrow night... partly cloudy, temps in the mid-60s and S-SW winds at 10-15mph.  As for this coming weekend... other than turning our clocks back an hour Saturday before turning in, both Saturday and Sunday will have temps in the low-60s with light and variable winds.  No rain in sight yet.  I've checked the records and Wildwood hasn't had rain since October 1st. We're very crispy on the island and surrounding areas.  Be aware of the very dry conditions as we're in a moderate drought and the State remains on a  "drought watch"... conserve water and watch those cigarette butts.

Tuesday Beauty

Mornin'!  It's 48° in Wildwood NJ.  It feels like 48° according to this morning's weather stats.  It's still dark and starlit but I can see plenty of dew glistening on the pumpkin and all the surfaces outside.  Thankfully, Jack Frost hasn't been seen in Wildwood yet.  Once Ms Sun crosses over the horizon in just over an hour, we'll see another beautiful day with plenty of sunshine, temps in the mid-60s along with NE breezes at 5-10mph.  Tonight... mostly clear with some clouds in the mix but by the overnight... back to clear skies, temps in the mid-50s and S-SW breezes at 5-10mph.  Tomorrow... a beach day?  We'll have sunny, clear blue skies, temps in the low-mid 70s and SW winds at 5-10mph.   Tomorrow night... partly cloudy, temps in the low-60s and S-SW breezes at 5-10mph.  Halloween... sunny, temps in the low-70s with SW breezes at 5-10mph.  Halloween night... partly cloudy, temps in the mid-60s and SW winds at 10-15mph.

There's a Stage 3 Fire Restriction statewide due to the prolonged dry conditions.  These restrictions ban wood and charcoal fires as this dry weather as of late raises wildfire risks specifically in the Pineland region of our State which is operating under a Drought Watch.  This severe dryness is now near record levels in the State of NJ as residents and businesses should be aware and vigilant of any wasteful use of water.  Here's some guidelines to follow if in the drought watch area:
~taking your car to the car wash instead of washing it in your driveway saves water.

~sweep your patio, driveway or sidewalk instead of hosing paved surfaces.

~check for leaks around your home.

~use watering can to water instead of a hose.

~install low-flow shower-heads, faucets and toilets.

~shorten bathing time; take a 5 minute shower.

~turn off the faucet while brushing your teeth.

~run the dishwasher and washing machine only when "full".

~don't throw lit cigarettes/cigars away thoughtlessly.

Mornin'!  I'm back!  It's been 18 days since I actually sat in front of my computer and checked Wildwood's weather.  I did peek on my phone and kept seeing nice weather here with no rain.  I've been enjoying Autumn from afar and mostly down South (Georgia and Florida) with some 60° mornings and even warmer with 80° mornings in Key West.  The first thing I did when walking through the door last evening was put the furnace on. The second thing was to enjoy my own bed! As for the weather here... what a difference a couple of weeks make!  The air is crisp to say the least as we border that freezing mark.  All the tree leaves are all turning into their picturesque colors with Autumn everywhere (including Wildwood and my property) as well as North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland and Delaware which was quite a treat to see. The Marsh grasses here are once again that beautiful golden color.  But the best is that salty, briny fragrance always filling Wildwood's air giving me that incredibly warm welcome back.  There's nothing like returning home to the Coast. 
It's 44° in Wildwood NJ and actually feels like 38°!  It's sunny with barely any breezes (out of the North) at 2-3mph.  Expect the beautiful autumn days to continue with plentiful sunshine in that deep blue sky, temps in the low-60s and E-NE breezes at 5-10mph.  No rain in sight.  Tonight... partly clear, temps around 50° and winds light and variable.  Tomorrow... intervals of sun and clouds, temps in the mid-upper 60s and East winds at 5-10mph.  Tomorrow night... partly clear, temps in the upper 50s / low 60s with light winds.  Wednesday... sunny, temps around 70° with S-SW breezes at 5-10mph.  The New Moon is this coming Friday.  Along with unpacking today, lots of watering is going to be happening around here.

Looks like a mix of sun and clouds during sunrise but another sunny day ahead today with temps in the low-mid 60s and N-NW winds at 10-20mph.  Tonight... clear, temps in the low-mid 50s and N-NW winds at 10-15mph.  Tomorrow... sunny, temps in the mid-upper 60s with N-NW winds at 5-10mph.  Friday night... clear, low 60s and West winds at 5-10mph.  Saturday... sunny, temps in the low-mid 70s and West winds at 10-15mph.  Saturday night... clear, mid-60s with W-NW winds at 5-10mph.  Sunday... mostly sunny, low-70s and Southerly breezes at 5-10mph.

It's supposed to be a sunny, warmish day. Mornin'!  It's 67°, cloudy and breezy (E-NE at 15-20mph) in Wildwood NJ.  Welcome October!  And, "Red sky in the morning..." is what I'm seeing out my front windows right now.  Even with this relatively thick morning cloud cover, Ms Sun's painting that sky all kinds of reds, corals as well as throwing in some golds. It's really amazing how picturesque our Autumn sunrise and sunsets are here on the east coast.  Today will basically be a repeat of yesterday with cloudy skies, a slight chance of rain (25% chance), temps around 70° and stiff E-NE winds at 15-25mph.  Tonight... cloudy, 35% chance of rain, temps in the mid-60s and NE winds at 10-20mph.  Tomorrow... mostly to partly cloudy with 25% chance of rain in the morning as we just might see Ms Sun later in the day, temps near 70° and NE winds still stiff at 10-20mph.  Tomorrow night... mostly clear, temps in the mid-60s and NE winds at 5-10mph.  Thursday... a sunny day, temps around 70° and light breezes!  Yay!  The New Moon is tomorrow which means we're seeing higher than normal tides. Remember that the backside (marsh/bay) is one hour later in the high tide times. It's nice to see you again October.  We know what could happen this month as we're in the peak of hurricane season which continues until November 30th.  Please be kind to us.
