Mornin'! It's 64° in Wildwood NJ (again). We're having a light rain shower at the moment. We're cloud covered, damp and misty on the island again. It's an exact repeat of yesterday morning. No breezes to note. It'll be foggy and murky on this last day of May with clouds hanging low and heavy throughout the day and evening. We have a slight chance of a thunderstorm passing through early evening and very late tonight. Today's temps will barely tap 70° with breezes out of the SE at 10-15mph. Tonight...mid-upper 60s with breezes out of the South at 13-15mph. Tomorrow...basically same of today with the possibility of peeks of sun in the later part of the day. Saturday and Sunday...still looking like washouts sorry to say. Let's just hope June along with her 1st day of Summer (6/21) and the beginning of Hurricane Season is as kind to us as May was. Until Next year...bon voyage May!

Stretch of Gray Wetness
Mornin'! It's 64° in Wildwood NJ. It's cloudy and misty outside. Breezes are light out of the East at 7-10mph. It'll be gray and misty throughout the day with temps in the upper 60s and breezes out of the East at 12-15mph. Tonight...40% chance of rain showers with temps in the low 60s and breezes out of the East at 11-14mph. I hate to be the bearer of bad weather news but it's looking like we may not see Ms Sun until Friday evening and not again until Monday afternoon. We're in a rainy weather pattern for the next few days including this weekend. I know summer's coming but we're definitely not having it any time soon.

Full Moon Tuesday
Mornin'! It's 59° in Wildwood NJ. It's a pleasant morning with Ms Sun doing her best to shine through the clouds. Breezes are very light out of the S-SE at 2-4mph. There's plenty of parking on the streets again. In a snap of a finger, everyone's left the island. It's a weird phenomenon. The reality is...we're back to a quiet town again (for a short time). We're going to have a mix of clouds and sun today with temps in the mid-70s and breezes out of the South at 9-12mph. No rainy day in the forecast but there's a 20% chance of a passing shower later. Tonight...same...mix of clouds along with the moon and stars. Temps will drop back down into the mid 60s with breezes out of the South at 5-7mph. Tomorrow...basically a repeat of today with cooler temps. Full Moon is tonight!

Happy Memorial Day!
Mornin'! It's 57° in Wildwood NJ. Happy Memorial Day! Memorial Day is an American Holiday observed the last Monday of May honoring the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military. Originally known as Decoration Day, it originated in the years following the Civil War and became an official federal holiday in 1971. Just a little holiday info. It's currently much cooler, gray/cloudy and breezy (E-NE 10-13mph). We had some torrents of heavy rain yesterday and last night and for a second felt like we might have to deal with some serious flooding. All is well. It'll be a mostly cloudy day with peeks of sunshine and temps much cooler in the mid-upper 60s. Breezes will be out of the E-SE at 8-10mph. Tonight...mostly cloudy with temps in the mid 60s and breezes out of the SW at 9-11mph.

Memorial Day Weekend Sunday
Mornin'! It's 68° in Wildwood NJ. These beautiful seabreezes are out of the South at 10-15mph. At the moment it's clear with Ms Sun doing her best to shine down. We've got a sky full of dark clouds surrounding us (weird morning brightness out there) and everything's damp from the overnight-early morning rain showers. Speaking of rain...expect some rain showers off and on today. There's anywhere from a 30-80% chance depending on where the storm clouds move. Right now...the doppler seems to have a storm headed right this way over the Delaware Bay. We'll have to keep an eye on that one as it appears we might get skirted at any time. Temps will be in the mid-upper 70s with breezes all over the place first out of the S-SW, then South, then S-SE, then tonight...E-NE all at around 9-13mph. Tonight...rain with temps in the mid 60s. Tomorrow...pretty much the same as today but cooler (low-mid 60s). As for the upcoming week...Full moon on Tuesday and not much in the line of sunshine until the weekend. Oh...it's still thick as molasses on the island this morning. Parking is at a premium! And, no more ranting as it's almost over.

Day IV of Perfection
Mornin'! It's 70° in Wildwood NJ. It's sunny and a bit breezy (SW 13-16mph) and lovely outside. Perfect for kite flying as Wildwood's in the midst of their annual Kite Festival. All my windows are wide open allowing the sea breeze to wift (waft) on in. It's also allowing the island sounds into my home...seagulls laughing, neighboring air conditioners rattling, motorcycles revving, pickup trucks mufflers roaring, car alarms sounding, huge boat trailers rattling as they're pulled down the streets, police car sirens in the distance, dogs barking everywhere (including mine, unfortunately), folks nearby chatting and laughing loudly (some on phones) oblivious to the early morning folk still enjoying their sleep. What I'm not hearing is next door's full house of young folk partying into the wee hours of the early morning. We're in it now as this tiny island is totally packed to the gills which seems like hundreds of thousands of seashore loving folk. There's too many people here on the island. My husband's afraid we may sink! Okay...done my rant.
It'll be another pleasant day. Expect "kite flying" breezes out of the SW at 12-14mph with plenty of sunshine and temps tapping the low 80s. Tonight...clouds roll in as there's a 60% chance of showers and/or thunderstorms with temps in the low 70s and breezes out of the S-SW at 10-13mph. Tomorrow...70-80% chance of showers and/or thunderstorms throughout the day and evening. Monday mostly cloudy that 80% decreasing to 30%.

Memorial Weekend Has Begun!
Mornin'! It's 63° in Wildwood NJ. Happy Memorial Day Weekend! It's sunny with a very light breeze out of the South (2-3mph). It appears as if everyone's here! There's not a parking spot to be had on my street at the moment. At 6a.m. I saw 2 dog-walkers already along with cyclists traversing. Trust me, that's not the norm for 8 months out of the year. Every house around mine is occupied (this past Wednesday all were empty). I can actually hear the hum of neighboring air conditioners rattling through my opened windows. It's that time of year when I'm mandated to make the adjustment to "share the shore". I've got this but it takes major adjusting. It's the feeling of infiltration and extreme coziness. Like being asked to move further into the elevator as that last person pushes their way in.
Okay...I'm done my rant.
It'll be another perfect weather day with lots of warmth and sunshine. Temps will tap the 80° mark again as breezes commence a little later from the SW at 10-12mph. Tonight...clear and moonlit with temps in the mid-60s and breezes out of the S-SW at 18-20mph. Tomorrow...pretty much another repeat of this fabulous weather with some clouds thrown in here and there. By tomorrow evening...the weather shifts a bit with 50% chance of showers and/or thunderstorms as some crapola weather will be sticking around until Monday afternoon I'm sorry to report.

And, since it's "The Season's" first Friday...I'm posting the ol' Beach Etiquette Checklist" as chances are the beach will no doubt be enjoyed today...
Friday Beach Etiquette tips~
~Never leave trash on the beach and even better yet...pick up any that you see whether it's yours or not. Note trash and recycle containers situated everywhere as The Wildwoods do recycle.
~Don't forget those cigarette butts...collect and trash them. Or just don't smoke and pollute the lovely sea air. Never stick them in the sand and leave them...that'll be tomorrow's find for the little kid digging in the sand. Plus, cigarette filters take years to decompose and could be taken to the ocean by the tides giving sea life harmful/toxic cigarette filter tidbits to swallow. Smoking is banned on the Boardwalk in all the towns by the way.
~Remember to pack headphones (believe it or not no one wants to hear your music blaring from your boom box). Big, loud boom boxes are not welcomed on the beach.
~Kindly give your neighbors space when selecting your beach site. Courtesy is key. Careful not to plop down in others personal beach space.
~Teach children some beach etiquette. Running (basically "kicking") nearby others and throwing sand is a no-brainer but sometimes you'd never know it.
~Feeding the seagulls is a big no-no. Eat and snack smartly. Using hands to express emotion when holding your sandwich up or out is a magnet for swooping gulls. Dropping one potato chip thoughtlessly will create seagull havoc. Eat under your umbrella or hooded sand chair as the seagulls are similar to vultures and are eyeing beachgoers constantly trying to find the right opportune moment to swoop down and pluck your lunch right out of your hand or mouth (seen it happen many times). Seagull havoc then begins as 40 other gulls come in for a food fight of your scattered lunch. By the way, seagulls know "chip bags" and if they see one sticking out of your unsupervised beach bag, they will think nothing of helping themselves and remove the chips from your bag as well as share your snacks with their gull friends while you're taking a walk or a dip (seen it happen many times).
~Playing ball, frisbee, corn hole, or kite-flying etc is a no-no at the beach. I mean on the back side of the beach (dune side) or designated areas, not near beachgoers would probably be the best place as the beach patrol will usually stop you anyway if you're in the wrong area. Playing where folks are camped relaxing and enjoying their beach day is a no-no.
~shake towels and blankets away from others noting the wind direction.
~observe and follow posted warnings (closed beaches, rip currents, surfboard/boogie board area etc) and always pay attention to lifeguards. If in doubt...ask the lifeguard (they're terrific people).
~Now, let's all enjoy that beach together! And, live together with kindess and in peace.

This Is What I'm Talking About
Mornin'! It's 65° in Wildwood NJ. Ms Sun's up and at'em! There's not a breeze or a cloud in the bright, blue sky. It's perfection outside. It's so nice that when I stepped onto the porch, it almost took my breath away. My first reaction was to just sit on the porch and take it all in...ya know...just stay in the moment. I proceeded to walk around the yard and check in on all the gardens. This is what I took it in...Ms Sun just welcoming dawn, stillness, the extreme calm and quiet before the storm (in more ways than one), birds chirping, seagulls laughing, geese flying north overhead, the strong fragrance of the marsh and warming beach sand, my new awnings, my freshly scrubbed back porch, my beautiful new trash picked wooden rockers and all the plants, veggies and flowers surrounding me as they all begin to grow (that includes those housebound tropicals once again enjoying the outdoors). Plus I still have to pinch myself that I live down the Shore. The weather's going to be 5-Star today. Blue skies and sunshine will abound with light breezes...first out of the N-NE, then SE, and tonight...S-SW all around 7-10mph. Temps will just be tapping 80°. Tonight...mid 60s and moonlit skies. Tomorrow...ditto on today's weather. The weekend... not so much as a tropical disturbance will be bringing crapola weather for Sunday and Monday. I'll keep checking but it's leaning that way.

Lovely Spring Humpday
Mornin'! It's 65° in Wildwood NJ. It's calm with no breezes to report as Ms Sun is up and trying to avert the remnants of cloud cover from last night's rainy weather system. I'm happy to report that everything received a nice watering beginning early last evening. The seagulls are everywhere expressing their happiness as well. It's somewhat gray and dull. However, today will be the first of a group of fantastic weather days. Ms Sun is on her way and booked until Saturday evening as we could see rain beginning Sunday morning. I'm keeping a close eye on this upcoming holiday weekend's weather. I'd like to have perfect weather for my visiting grandbabies and I've been biting my lip a little. Oh...speaking of visitors...the Shore has started to see an increase of visitors as traffic, driveways, gas stations, shops, lines, boardwalk etc is beginning to thicken. The summer-dweller ambiance is in motion! Those who are already here have lucked out for this little stretch of near-perfect weather. Today...expect some perfect Spring weather with sunny skies, temps in the mid-upper 70s and light breezes. Today...75° with W-NW breezes at 8-10mph. Tonight...mid 60s with NW breezes at 4-6mph and clear moonlit skies (the Full Moon is the 29th).

50/50 Kind Of Day
Mornin'! It's 61° in Wildwood NJ. Ms Sun is up and shining down. We have some milky cloud cover trying to obscure her and her bright warmth but at the moment...Ms Sun's got this one. Breezes are very light (5-7mph) out of the SE. It'll be a pleasant, partly sunny / partly cloudy first half of the day with temps in the mid 60s and by late this afternoon...heavier clouds move on in as there's a 60% chance of scattered rain showers and 80% chance tonight. Breezes will switch up a bit by then and come in from the South, then the SW and again from the S-SW all at 9-12mph. Thunderstorms could check in (50% chance) before nightfall. Temps will be around where they are now...in the low 60s. Tomorrow...looks like the possibility of waking to rain as the clouds begin to clear out leaving Ms Sun alone for a few days.

Lovely Monday
Mornin'! It's 62° in Wildwood NJ. We're under some cloud cover but Ms Sun's beginning to break on through and shine down. Breezes are out of the N-NE at 10-15mph. We had another dose of rain with thunder and lightning last night and everything's washed down nicely. The birds along with the seagulls are all vocal and I'm assuming displaying their pleasure with this lovely morning. It's one of the things I enjoy most about Springtime...island birds singing and chirping and laughing everywhere on mornings like this. It'll be a pleasant day as breezes wift (waft) through the open windows of my home with sun pouring down and temps in the mid-upper 60s with breezes out of the E-NE at 9-11mph. Tonight...partly cloudy with temps in the mid-upper 50s and breezes out of the E-SE at 4-6mph. Tomorrow...rain.

There's No "Rainy Day V"
Mornin'! It's 69° in sunny Wildwood NJ. Yes, "sunny" Wildwood! Ms Sun is shining down with a light breeze out of the SE at 3-5mph. It's perfectly lovely out there albeit damp and saturated from 4 straight days of rain. Pollen is everywhere and we're looking a bit messy. I can sit on my back porch again without getting wet now as my new canvas awnings were installed yesterday (as it was raining). Even the porch is covered in pollen and tiny leaves as it begs for a sweeping and pressure washing! I'm happy to report that it'll be a perfect day to do that as it'll be partly sunny / partly cloudy today with temps in the mid-upper 70s and breezes out of the S-SE at 10-13mph. This afternoon (early evening) there's a 50% chance of a thunderstorm. Tonight...mostly clear (some cloud cover still in the mix) with temps in the mid-upper 60s and breezes out of the W-SW at 5-7mph. Tomorrow...more of Ms Sun with some remaining clouds hanging out. Tuesday...more rain is due but I'm thinking it'll be a lovely week of Spring weather (mostly sunny with temps in the low 70s) overall.

Rainy Day IV
Mornin'! It's 52° in Wildwood NJ. It's misty and wet outside with an Eastery breeze at 15-20mph. Expect more rain showers today as temps get up into the low-mid 60s. We might (very big "might") see peeks of sun today but we're in the 50-60% chance of rain. It'll be breezy with winds out of the S-SE at 15-20mph. Tonight...rain showers with temps in the low 60s and breezes out of the S-SW at 15-20mph. Tomorrow...warmer with temps in the low 70s but once again some rain showers in the forecast. Chances of peeks of sun are greater. Remember the sun?

Rainy Day III
Mornin'! It's 61° in Wildwood NJ. I've never been more grateful for my repeated reflections on last week's vacation in Georgia with summer heat and blue skies for a solid 8 days! At the moment here in Wildwood, it's raining again at a nice clip with breezes out of the East at 8-10mph. It's a little bit floody (near my corner intersection area closer to the harbor) as it's been raining on and off for 3 days now. There are not many places for all that rainwater to go when you live on a mound of sand and are surrounded by the ocean and bay. It'll be another wet, miserable day with 100% chance of rain throughout the today right into tonight. One thing more is added to the weather mix today and that's the wind. Expect strong winds to arrive late morning out of the E-NE at 25-35mph as they'll be checked in throughout the day and night adding to this crapola weather day. They should subside just a bit (15-18mph) by tomorrow. Temps will be where they are now but will probably feel cooler with that wind driven ocean breeze providing a splendid facial sloughing. Tonight...periods of rain. Why not? We should expect a total of a couple of inches of rain for this Friday. Tonight...temps in the upper 50s and winds will be out of the E-NE at 15-22mph. Tomorrow...rainy day IV with periods of the showers on and off and those nasty winds subsiding just a bit. By Sunday night, we just might see the moon and stars..."might"! There's a Coastal Flood Advisory posted again as low-lying areas will no doubt be flooded today. Be aware of the tides. Driving through flood waters shouldn't even be a consideration. Oh, and I'd continue to keep the wellies close at hand too!

Rainy Day II
Mornin'! It's 61° in Wildwood NJ. It's gray and wet out there with a very light shower happening right this moment. We just got through a heavy downpour with a good soaking. Actually, the sound of the pounding rain is what woke me. The seagulls are expressing their delight that's for sure. Or, could be angst...who knows? Not much in the line of breezes...E-SE at 2-4mph. It'll be a repeat of yesterday as well as repeating the same rainy forecast for tomorrow and Saturday too. Rain, rain and more rain on tap. Expect periods of rain showers throughout the day (some could be heavy like what we just had) with temps in the low-mid 60s and breezes out of the E-NE at 6-8mph. We could even have some thunder and lightning. Tonight...rain showers with temps in the upper 50s and breezes out of the E-NE at 9-10mph. Also be aware, this stretch of rainy weather could bring with it localized flooding. There is a Flood Watch posted until Saturday. And, the bridge leading into Wildwood could be closed just when you want to enter or exit the island. When in doubt...keep abreast of the high tides and enter through North Wildwood keeping those wellies close at hand. Ending on a good note...veggie, herbs and flowers are all getting watered nicely.

Gray Hump Day!
Mornin'! I'm home! It's 62° in Wildwood NJ. It's dark, cloudy and a bit misty. Not much in breezes (S-SW 3-5mph). No rain at the moment but today's forecast looks like a damp hump day. Expect patchy fog for the kick off with damp, misty conditions and an 80% chance of rain showers on and off right into this evening. We might even see thunderstorms beginning later this afternoon / early evening. Last night...we had some major thunderstorms and soaking rain. Tonight...80% chance of rain stays posted along with misty/patchy fog. Temps will hover around where they are now (low-mid 60s) with breezes out of the E-SE at 5-8mph. According to every weather report I've researched this morning...this exact same weather pattern may repeat for the entire next week. There appears to be a peek or two of sunshine maybe tomorrow and again on Sunday but otherwise...gray and wet until next Tuesday. I hate to be the bearer of a miserable, wet weather report. Especially when just returning late yesterday afternoon from a sunny, summery week in Georgia. We had not a drop of rain while traveling and vacationing with my daughter and her hubby this past week. One thing we did have was summer heat...last weekend we had sunshine with 93° temps on Saturday and 95° on Sunday. I was grateful for not having much in humidity with those temps but we had a real preview of a blast of summer which I enjoyed immensely knowing I was returning here to damp, much cooler 60° weather. I'm almost ready for summer but would prefer to ease on into it (wishful thinking). For now...enjoy that San Francisco weather we have on tap for quite a few days ahead. Traveling Tuesday!
Mornin'! It's 51° in Wildwood NJ. It's clear as Ms Sun just rose over the horizon. Breezes are hardly there....E-NE 3-5mph. Here's today's weather... It'll be a lovely Spring day with plenty of sunshine and temps tapping 60°. Breezes will ramp up a little from the E-NE at 13-16mph. Tonight...clear with temps back into the low 50s with NE breezes at 9-10mph. It appears this exact weather will take us right through until next week with the exception of Thursday and Sunday evening when showers are forecasted.
Well, it's vacation time again as it's my last blog entry for about a week. Hubby and I have been preparing for the drive back to Athens GA to spend a week with our oldest daughter and her hubby and celebrate her birthday and Mother's day. Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there btw! We're headed for the Cape May-Lewes Ferry in a few hours to begin the long journey. I'm looking forward to the trip to Georgia and a little get-a-way off of the island (always makes me appreciate it even more upon returning). It's a long drive but worth every mile with nearly 800 miles/13 hrs including driving over the Chesapeake Bay bridge and through the tunnel. It'll be fun hanging with our daughter and her hubby in the lovely City of Athens with its quaint ambiance, eclectic eateries, charm, and beauty which is now in a summer climate (I packed all summer clothes). It's a very beautiful, charming, southern college town (University of Georgia). Like Wildwood, it's a seasonal town. There's one major difference...our "in season" is at completely opposite spectrums. In Athens, once graduation takes place (which just occurred last week), it returns to being a sleepy little town for 3 months as all the students check out for the summer. As that's unfolding, Wildwood does the opposite and goes from approximately 16,000 pp year-round residents to a packed little 5-mile resort (250,000 pp) for those 3 summer months of the year. We're not quite "in season" here but it's coming once the schools close. Plus, Wildwood's not quite there with summer weather yet, but Spring has sprung as we've been blessed with some perfect Spring weather days recently.
Today's weather will be no exception and be pleasant here on the coast with plentiful sunshine as well as for the week up ahead and the weekend. This weekend looks nice for the Classic Cars on display here! You know the score if researching the Wildwood weather when the ol' blog's on hiatus. Remember...you can always get a pretty good up-to-date and accurate weather forecast by clicking "wunderground" on the right side of my blog page under "personal favs" at the bottom. Click on it and just type in Wildwood NJ or 08260 (our zip code) and you'll have the most accurate weather in my opinion. I should be back to blogging next Wednesday... by then I'll be settled back in after traversing to and from Georgia. See you on the other side!

Turning Into A Pleasant Monday
Mornin'! It's 55° in Wildwood NJ. It's cloudy, damp and a bit on the chilly side. Not much in the line of breezes...E-SE 3-5mph. It's going to be a pleasant day which is not what was originally forecasted (rainy day). Although it's cloudy and damp, Ms Sun's on her way as these clouds will pull out later (late morning / early afternoon) allowing a pleasant, sunny Monday. Temps will just about tap 60° with breezes out of the E-NE at 7-9mph. Tonight...clear with temps back into the mid 50s and breezes out of the East at 12-15mph. Tomorrow...more of the same with slightly breezier conditions. In fact, aside from Wednesday's early day showers, it looks like a full week of today's weather. Remains to be seen.

Damp Sunday
Mornin'! It's 57° in Wildwood NJ. It's cloudy and a bit misty with a light breeze off the ocean and lots of waves roaring off in the distance. The seagulls are creating noisy rackets in all the surrounding neighborhoods. There's some morning commotion outside this Sunday. It's all good! It'll be mostly gray as showers are due in later this morning. Not sure if we'll have peeks of sun like yesterday but I'd prepare for a mostly gray, damp, day. Temps will tap 60° with an easterly breeze at 6-8mph. Chance of showers is 60%. Tonight...cloudy, scattered showers (50% chance), temps dropping down into the low 50s and a SE breeze becoming North at 5-7mph. Tomorrow...looks like more chances of rain showers (30%) and in the low-mid 60s. Ms Sun will be checking back in on Tuesday.

Happy Cinco De Mayo! It's Yard Sale Time!
Mornin'! It's 66° in Wildwood NJ. We're encased in cloud cover. It's still with breezes out of the North at 3-5mph. The clouds are doing what they do best...providing the insulating cover to bring me the sound of waves crashing on the shore. They also covered up Ms Sun and her sunrise today. They'll be doing the same thing tomorrow morning. It's going to be cloudy today with not much in the line of sunshine. There's a slight chance of an isolated rain shower or two. Which is good news for the high school bands who are competing here this weekend (lots of drum beats in the distance all weekend). It's also the annual Borough Wide Yard Sale in Wildwood Crest today too (Wildwood Crest likes begin referred to as a Borough rather than City or Town). At least you won't need the sunblock while browsing. Temps are going to drop down some as it won't become any warmer than it is now and will be dropping down into the upper 50s tonight. Breezes will be out of the North, then NE, then by early afternoon switch to the E-SE to SE by tonight all at 6-8mph. Tomorrow...we'll probably wake to rain showers although there's less than a 50% chance of rain for Sunday. Remains to be seen. Happy Weekend!

TGIF
Mornin'! It's 66° in Wildwood NJ. It's amazingly mild outside almost feeling like a summer morning. No breezes to note. We have clouds above creating that insulator for sound as I can hear the ocean's waves roaring 6+ blocks away. They'll also be creating a lovely, colorful sunrise once Ms Sun begins painting them. It looks like we're going to have a repeat of the last 2 days with mostly sunny conditions, mild Spring temps (low-mid 70s) and mild breezes (1st half of the day) from the SW at 9-12mph, but with some of the milky cloud cover today. Breezes will ramp up as they typically do later in afternoon from the S-SW at 18-22mph. Tonight...mostly cloudy, temps in the low 60s, breezes out of the S-SW at 15-20mph with a 20% chance of a rain shower or even a thunderstorm. For the weekend...tomorrow looks cooler (mid-upper 60s), mostly cloudy with a 20% chance of showers later in the day / early evening. And, Sunday...clouds still checked in with 90% chance of showers and temps holding in the mid-60s. Ms Sun's back on Monday.

Loveliness Part II
Mornin'! It's a balmy 62° in Wildwood NJ. Ms Sun's up and shining through some milky clouds. Breezes are barely there from the SW at 5-8mph. It'll be another pleasant day down the Shore with plenty of sunshine with some milky clouds in the mix and more warmish temps in the mid-upper 70s and breezes out of the S-SW at 14-16mph. Who knows, we might even see 80° as yesterday we got up to 78°. Tonight...clear with clouds filtering in as temps drop back into the low-mid 60s and breezes out of the S-SW at 15-1820mph. Tomorrow...more of the same! Oh, there still is a "Red Flag Warning" issued for the current dry conditions as the combination of low humidity and gusty breezes later will contribute to enhancing the possible spread of fires. That's mostly on the mainland and pinelands. So, as you travel to the coast be aware of those burn restrictions and of course those cigarette butts! Life is good in the weather department...beach days are actually here! For now anyway as the weekend's much cooler (60s) and gray. Get out there and enjoy!

First Real Taste Of Summer!
Mornin'! It's 56° in Wildwood NJ. It's sunny and bright with hardly a breeze (S-SW 3mph) and a perfectly lovely start to the day. Lots of happy, yappy birds outside making their presence known in the salty air. If yesterday was a tiny taste of summer as the temps got into the mid-70s (no typo), then today will be an ever bigger serving with temps going up into the mid-upper 70s maybe even tapping 80°!!! Expect loads of sunshine (keep the sunblock handy) and breezes out of the W-SW at 8-10mph. All the windows will be open again today! Tonight...upper 50s / low 60s with clear moonlit skies and S-SW breezes at 13-15mph. Take precautions today regarding those red-flag postings for everything being "extremely dry" as forest fires (in the Pinelands on the mainland) are very probable if you're not aware. Don't even think about tossing that cigarette butt out the car window on the drive to the shore today and the next few days. Tomorrow and Friday's weather..more of the Spring-like stuff but not quite as warm as today. The weekend's looking gray and wet. Mostly gray on Saturday with showers later in the day and rain all day Sunday. There's no doubt in my mind that the beaches would be majorly inhabited if today's weather was this weekend's forecast.

Welcome May!
Mornin'! Welcome May! It's 46° in Wildwood NJ. Ms Sun's up (she rose almost a ½ hr ago). There's barely a cloud in the sky. No Breezes to note. The birds are all awake and chirping and squawking happily. It's a lovely Spring morning this first day of May. It'll be a perfectly lovely day too as there's going to be plenty of sunshine, temps in the upper 60s...possibly tapping 70° with W-NW breezes at 10-13mph. Tonight... clear, with temps in the low 50s and breezes out of the SW at 13-16mph. It's here! May and Spring and perfect weather are finally here!
