Mornin'!  It's 43° in Wildwood NJ.  It's a very crisp morn out there.  Breezes are part of the mix out of the NE at 8-13mph.  Ms Sun's up and shining brightly.  It'll be a mostly sunny first half of the day with temps in the mid-50s and breezes out of the East at 10-15mph.  Clouds will filter in this afternoon as it becomes partly-mostly cloudy and by this evening, there's a 60% chance of showers.  Tonight's temps will back down to the upper 40s/low50s with Easterly breezes at 8-10mph.  We may wake to showers tomorrow as Ms Sun does intend to peek in and shine tomorrow but it looks to be a partly cloudy / partly sunny day.

Mostly Cloudy With Indecisive Breezes Today

Mornin'!  It's 56° in Wildwood NJ.  It's overcast with lots of cloud cover.  Not much in the area of breezes... North at 2-3mph.  Looks like a mixed bag today as temps get up into the low-mid 60s.  Expect cloudy skies this morning (possibility of peeks of sunshine) with occasional showers by later this afternoon (50% chance).  Early evening... still cloudy with Ms Sun trying to close out the day and perhaps paint a lovely sunset.  Tonight... partly cloudy, low 50s with N-NE winds at 10-20mph.  The Winds are on the unsettled side today coming from many directions.  They're currently out of the North but so light, they're not even noticeable.  But later this morning they'll shift to the SE (10-15mph) and by mid-day... South.  By late this afternoon... they'll shift again to the SW (8-10mph) and by early evening will shift again to the NW, then North.  Finally by late tonight... they'll shift to N-NE all at around 10-15mph.  Tomorrow... partly sunny with rain showers on the forecast for late tomorrow night.

Windy Saturday

Mornin'!  It's 53° in Wildwood NJ.  It's clear and bright with Ms Sun shining happily over the island.  It's breezy... Westerly winds at 20-25mph +gusting.  It feels crisp and clear and refreshing.  The fragrance of the sea is in the air this morning and the island birds are sounding very happy!
It'll be a sunny day with temps in the low-60s.  It'll be blustery all day with winds out of the West at 25-35mph +gusting.  Tonight the winds simmer down to 9-15mph out of the W-NW.  Temps will too... mid-50s as it'll be clear and starlit.  Tomorrow... the start of the day will be cloudy and become partly sunny later in the day.  Temps may tap 70° with gusty winds out of the SSE at 15-25mph.  There is a 30% chance of a passing shower in the afternoon too.

Crapola Friday

Mornin'!  It's 56° in Wildwood NJ.  We're under heavy, thick cloud cover with light breezes out of the North at 3-5mph.  We've got a crapola day on tap with cloudy skies this morning followed by thunderstorms and gusty winds this afternoon.  Some of these storms could be severe.  Winds will ramp up out of the S-SE at 20-30mph +gusting with temps in the low-mid 60s.  Chance of rain today is 100%.  There's no full or new moon on the calendar at the moment so tidal flooding probably isn't an issue but if you see flooding in the streets, I'd suggest not driving through it.  Tonight... more cloudiness with some evening rain (80% chance), and windy with West winds at 20-30mph +gusting.  Temps will drop down into the low-mid 50s.  The weekend's looking like a 50-50 kind of weekend with Saturday being very blustery and mostly sunny with Sunday being partly sunny/cloudy and much less windy.  Next time for rain is Monday night into Tuesday morning.

Mornin'!  It's 56° in Wildwood NJ.  We're under cloud cover with no breezes to note.  Ms Sun's just peeking under the horizon's cloud cover and will probably paint those clouds beautifully before disappearing.   It looks like it's going to be a mostly cloudy day with temps right around where they are now maybe tapping 60°.  Breezes will commence in a few hours from the E-NE at 8-13mph.  We may see peeks of sunshine but count on cloud cover most of the day.  Tonight... mid-upper 50s with more cloud cover and still those E-NE breezes at 10-15mph.  Tomorrow looks cloudy with on and off showers throughout the day and evening.  Saturday looks partly sunny, chilly and blustery with Sunday coming in with a mix of sun and clouds, a little warmer and less breezy.

Pleasant Humpday

Mornin'!  It's 64° in Wildwood NJ.  Ms Sun has risen and is painting the sky and leftover clouds lovely shades of pastels this morning.  The breezes are light out of the North at 3-5mph.  Once again, the birds are expressing their pleasure by chirping and squawking and laughing.  I love Spring and when the season truly begins to feel warmer as the birds truly seem happy and playfully vocal.  Yesterday the back porch thermometer went up to 72°!  It felt almost like a summer day!  Not sure if we'll see that again today but we will see another sunny day as temps are forecasted to go to the upper 60s.  Breezes will be out of the W-NW at 14-16mph.  Tonight... some cloudiness, temps in the upper 50s and breezes out of the N-NW at 4-6mph.  Tomorrow looks like a cloudy day with the chance of a passing shower in the afternoon.  At this point, the weekend looks like a blustery, mix of clouds and sun kind of day for Saturday and Sunday looks almost like today's forecast.  You know the drill... remains to be seen!

Mornin'!  It's 55° in Wildwood NJ.  Ms Sun's up and shining over the island.  There's hardly a breeze in the salty air.  It's noisy outside with the sounds of happy birds everywhere.  It's quite the morning out there!  Just splendid!
It'll be a pleasant Spring day with plenty of sunshine at least until later this afternoon when clouds begin to filter in.  Temps will be in the low 60s and winds will begin to wift (waft) over us at 6-8mph out of the W-SW.  Tonight... mostly cloudy with temps in the upper 50s, breezes out of the S-SW at 15-20mph with a 30% chance of showers.  Tomorrow...  waking to clouds and turning into a sunny day.

Earth Day

Mornin'!  Happy Earth Day!  It's 53° in Wildwood NJ.  It's gray and cloudy outside with no breezes to note.  The birds seem happy as they're chirping, squawking and laughing everywhere in the surrounding neighborhoods.  They actually woke me today.   It'll be a mostly cloudy day with some peeks of sun and a 40-50% chance of showers throughout the morning and early afternoon.  Temps will get up into the low 60s with NW breezes at 8-11mph.  Tonight... partly cloudy and temps in the upper 50s with W-NW breezes at 7-9mph.  The chance of rain will drop down to 5-10% chance this evening.  Earth Day is a global event celebrated on this date each year since 1970.  192 countries now take part being the largest civic-focused day of action in the world.  People take part by marching, signing petitions, contacting elected officials, cleaning up their towns and roads, plant trees etc.  Personally, I have a compulsion for plastics lying around the island.  I cannot walk by any plastic debris laying anywhere on the island without picking it up and discarding it properly.  There's no doubt in my mind that it will eventually wind up in the ocean or bay if I don't.  Plastic pollution is destroying our planet.  Once our "high" season begins, there's so much more trash and debris lying around as I urge anyone reading this who visits our island to just simply discard your trash and recycle properly and even take it one more step by picking up the leftover trash (left by someone else who's oblivious to the importance) nearby that's not yours!  Our health and lives depend on it.  Happy Earth Day!

First ½ Wet / Second ½ Dry

Mornin'!  It's 58° in Wildwood NJ.  It's been raining since last evening and at the moment coming down at a good clip.  We had our share of passing thunder-boomers during the night and we may even hear a couple leftover storms this early morning.  It's very windy with gusts of wind coming from the S-SE at 20-25mph +gusting.  No flooding that I can see in my neighborhood (yet) and I live near the harbor which will be high tide in a few hours.  I suspect we'll have street flooding with this heavy rain and yesterday's full moon.  The rain is supposed to head on out of here by mid-day but the clouds are staying mostly checked in as it'll be a cloudy day.  Not sure if we'll even see peeks of sunshine.  One forecast did mention some fog this afternoon.  Sometimes fog brings peeks of sunshine.  Remains to be seen. Temps will stay in the upper 50s with breezes out of the South at 18-22mph.  Tonight... mostly cloudy, temps in the mid-50s with breezes out of the South at 14-18mph.  Tomorrow... partly cloudy / partly sunny with temps in the mid-50s and breezes light out of the South at 4-8mph.

Good Friday - Passover - Full Moon

Mornin'!  It's 56° in Wildwood NJ.  Ms Sun's up as she crossed over the horizon about a half hour ago.  The sky is clear.  The ocean's rough and loud again this morning as the waves crashing the shore can be heard 6+ blocks away.   There are light winds at the moment (Southerly at 9-12mph) but that will change today as those Southerly winds will ramp up to 20-30mph.  The clouds will begin to drift over the island and there's a 40% chance of rain today.  There's also a possibility of scattered thunderstorms developing as well.  Temps will get into the low 60s.  Tonight... very windy (Southerly 25-35mph) with showers and the possibility of those thunderstorms on tap.  Temps will be where they are now... the upper 50s.  Tonight's forecast is winds will be out of the South at 25-35mph with 100% chance of rain.  Since it's the Full Moon today and there's a forecast of rain later... watch that tidal flooding possibility.  It's never a good idea to drive through flooded tidewater.  And, be conscientious  of where you're parking your vehicle as it could be a flood-prone area.  Get to know your areas!  Tomorrow... showers in the morning but a mostly cloudy/windy day.  Sunday... the sun returns and it'll be much less windy.

Mix of Clouds and Peeks of Sunshine

Mornin'!  It's 53° in Wildwood NJ.  It's mostly clear with clouds along the horizon.  It's calm with breezes out of the North at 5-9mph.  And, it's loud outside with the sound of the surf crashing 6+ blocks away not to mention there's a group of seagulls laughing in the neighborhood also breaking the morning silence.  Oh... and the fragrance of the ocean and marsh salty brine is in the air too.  It's my kind of morning down the Shore.  Temps are going up into the low-mid 60s today.  But, expect clouds to increase as it'll be a partly cloudy/partly sunny day with winds out of the S-SE to start at 10-15mph and by late this afternoon Southerly winds at 20-25mph.  Tonight's cloudy/windy temps will be in the mid-upper 50s.  Tomorrow... (Full Moon Friday) will be cloudy with isolated thunderstorms throughout the afternoon and evening.  Saturday looks like it could be wet too...60% early in the day.  Sunday... a nice Easter Sunday with sunshine and mild temps.

Sunny And Blustery Monday Is On The Weather Menu

Mornin'!  It's 59° in Wildwood NJ.  We're under dark, gray skies after quite a show of Mother Nature just a couple hours ago.  A nice big blast of rain along with some intense thunder and lightning was happening over the island around 4:30a.m.  No rain is coming down now but we're soaking wet.  No breezes to note although there is a slight breeze out of the North at 2-4mph.  Expect a windy day though with scattered thunderstorms this morning and sunshine by this afternoon as Winds come in from the West at 25-35mph +gusting.  Chance of morning rain is 40%.  We should be in the clear with sunshine by this afternoon as temps get into the low-mid 60s.  Winds are staying checked in.  Tonight... clear, windy (W-NW at 25-35mph +gusting) as temps drop into the mid-upper 40s.  Tomorrow... sunny, less windy with temps in the low 60s.

Palm Sunday! And, I'm Back!

Mornin'!  It's 56° in foggy Wildwood NJ.  I'm back! Got in last evening to some much cooler conditions but I've returned to those Jersey seashore sensations.  It's completely different from the southernmost point of the continental U.S.  The salt and brininess are stronger here with lots of fishy-fragrance thrown in.  I truly do enjoy it.   Down South, it's more tropical with lots of floral as well as that woody/undergrowth thrown in. There's not much of that fishy-brininess and marsh-wetland fragrance that the Jersey shore offers. Both are absolutely fine in my book. My hubby and I had a perfect, wonderful vacation in Key West with amazing summer weather (rained one day) as temps got up to 87° with wonderful, tropical gulf-stream breezes.  Humidity was up there as it never seems to leave there.  The water temp is 80°.  The evenings were spectacular (mid-upper 70s) and breezy.  And, the sunsets in Key West... well, that beauty is hard to describe sometimes but Wildwood has some of the most breathtaking sunrises and sunsets too!  It's simply a blessing to have those wonderful gifts here at home as well as our favorite vacation place.
As for the current weather here in Wildwood, well I'm still kind of taking it all in and adjusting accordingly. I've been sweating from humid, mid-summer weather for a week now but today's reality is that it's foggy, cloudy, misty and cool...56° (feels good actually).    Ms Sun seems to be trying to peek through at the moment, but all forecasts are saying... a "cloudy" one today.  Everything's dripping wet from the morning fog.  It appears we probably won't see Ms Sun until tomorrow in the late morning.  There are no current breezes to report (that'll change later).  Temps will reach the low-mid 60s today with Southerly breezes at 15-25 mph.  Tonight... cloudy and foggy with a 100% chance of rain.  That could include thunderstorms (which may be severe...prepare accordingly).  Temps will be in the low-mid 50s with Southerly winds at 20-25mph.  Tomorrow looks like a mixture of both clouds and sun with grayness in the morning and sunshine and in the 60s by the afternoon.  I'm pretty sure it's good to be home but I admit... I'm missing Key West this morning!

Mornin'!  It's 49° in Wildwood NJ.  It's cloudy and still (not much in breezes).  It'll be a partly cloudy / partly sunny today with temps in the upper 50s / low 60s.  Breezes will be out of the... N-NE at 5-8mph and shift to the S-SE by early evening.  It'll feel great after yesterday's raw, breezy, chill-to-the-bone weather.  By tonight... clear skies, temps just tapping 50° with breezes out of the S-SE at 4-8mph. Tomorrow... looks pretty much a repeat of today.  Expect another partly sunny / partly cloudy day with peeks of sun, temps in the low-mid 50s with breezes out of the E-NE at 6-9mph.

New Moon Friday - TGIF

Mornin'!  It's 46° in Wildwood NJ.  It's cloudy and windy with E-NE winds at 18-22mph.  It's already feeling moist with the cold, stiff, sea breezes but no rain (yet).  Expect clouds throughout the morning with winds as temps almost tap 50°.  Winds will pick up even more out of the East at 20-30mph +gusting as the rains head on in.  Chance of rain after noon is 80%.  Tonight... steady, light rain with showers continuing overnight as temps step back to where they are now... mid-40s.  SE winds will wift (waft) over the island at 10-20mph decreasing to 5-10mph.  Chance of rain tonight is 70%.  The weekend's looking okay once tomorrow morning's rains check out.  It'll be a partly cloudy / partly sunny weekend with temps in the low-mid 50s.  The New Moon is today too by the way if you're out and about and wonder why on earth the tides are so high and so low.  We could even see some tidal flooding due to the rainfall so you're on notice.

Another Beaut

Mornin'!  It's 43° in Wildwood NJ.  It went up to 65° yesterday here on the island!  No words. Yesterday I turned and fed the garden soil (it's all in big pots) and planted all my greens seeds... kale, collards, green onions, parsley, cilantro, dill, spinach,  arugula, and a nice lettuce variety.  Then, walked up to the Boards for a little exercise along with a nice dollop of sea air.
This morning feels just as lovely as it's crisp and clear and starlit and still (no breezes to note).

A Blustery Spring Day!

Mornin'!  It's 41° in Wildwood NJ.  It's early and still dark but the skies are clear and full of stars.  It's beautiful outside.  There's a breeze out of the North at 8-10mph. You can feel the salty condensation in the crisp morning air.  Ms Sun's on her way and will be crossing the horizon around 6:30.  Expect her to shine down aplenty today as temps soar into the upper 50s maybe even tapping 60°!  It'll definitely have the feeling of Spring down the Shore today but keep in mind it'll be blustery with winds out of the W-SW at 19-24mph.  Tonight... clear with temps in the upper 40s / low 50s and breezes out of the W-NW at 12-15mph.  Tomorrow... more cloud cover than today, lower temps but less breezy.  The weekend's looking pretty good with clouds checking in for both days.  The packing's just about completed (our Key West departure is in 3 days!) as the plan is to get outside today and plant the leafy green seeds (lettuce, spinach, kale, collards) and continue to prep the gardens.

50-50 Tuesday

Mornin'!  It's 38° in Wildwood NJ. Ms Sun's up and shining over the island.  It's still with no breezes to note.  Lots of birds seem to be enjoying the start to this day with all the chirping and quacking and squawking coming from every direction.  With the noisy stillness, I went into my own stillness as I stayed outside in the chill enjoying it all for much longer than I should have in my robe and slippers.  It was mesmerizing.  It was also inspiring me to finish up removing the remainder of tree branches broken and strewn throughout my yard from the weekend winds. I didn't seem to feel the cold while doing it.  The air was thick was salty brine.  The sky was vivid blue along with the sunrise glow with wispy, milky clouds thread here and there ...just magical.  Sometimes words are hard to put together to describe such a stunning moment.   This beauty's not lasting unfortunately.  Remnants of March have been hanging around off and on and today will be no exception.  Expect sunshine this morning while temps climb into the mid-40s by this afternoon.  Clouds will drift in by late morning.  And, rain will begin by late afternoon - early evening.  It's those damn winds out of the NE at 20-25 +gusting that will join in the weather today that makes it so much less enjoyable.  Tonight... rain with temps in the low-mid 40s with winds out of the N-NE at 20-25mph.  Tomorrow... Ms Sun returns with temps much higher and spring-like... mid-upper 50s (still blustery though).

Happy April! April Fools Day!

Mornin'! It's 32° in Wildwood NJ with a 27° windchill. I was going to write that this is my last blog but I did that one last year as an April Fools joke. Someone did post that Morey's is taking away their infamous french fries replacing them with healthy snacks (kale chips, chickpeas, etc) which got a pretty huge (ugly) reaction... just another "April Fools".  So, welcome Ms April!  You're coming in with a bang as it's been majorly windy and blustery.  Winds are out of the North at 20-25mph.  They'll be switching to the W-NW at 15-20mph today with plentiful sunshine and temps reaching the mid-40s.  Windchill will be around 39°.  Tonight... clear, low-40s and NW winds at only 3-6mph with no wind chill!  And, that's no April Fools joke.  Tomorrow looks to be much cloudier with rain in the evening.
