Mornin'!  It's 42° in Wildwood NJ.  It's clear as morning has broken.  Ms Sun's up.  Winds are out of the N-NW at 10-15mph.  It's the perfect start to a lovely Spring day.  It'll be blustery though.  Expect plentiful sunshine, temps in the low-60s and NW winds at 15-25mph +gusting.  Tonight... clear skies, temps back to where they are now... low-40s and N-NW winds calmed down at 10-15mph.  Tomorrow... sunny, temps in the low-mid 60s and NW winds at 10-15mph.  Saturday night... clear, temps in the low-50s and winds light and variable.  Sunday... Happy May Day!  It'll be partly sunny, temps in the low-mid 60s and SE winds at 5-10mph for the start of May.  By Sunday night, there's a 60% chance of rain continuing into the overnight as well as Monday morning.   I'll be taking a mini-hiatus this weekend to spend some time to be with the grand-babies.  I'll see you on Monday when my focus will be back on the seashore weather as April will be in the rear view!  Enjoy your weekend and see you in May!

Sunny and Blustery

Beach raking has begun on some beaches!

Mornin'!  It's 39° in Wildwood NJ.  Ms Sun's up and shining brightly.  Winds are out of the NW at 15-20mph +gusting making it feel like 30°.   It's a very chilly morning along the coast.  It doesn't feel like Spring that's for sure.  Today's temps will help with warming things up a bit as we're supposed to have a sunny day with temps in the upper 50s / low 60s.  Winds will be giving the sun's warmth a run for its money as it'll be very windy today with NW winds at 20-30mph + gusting.  Tonight... clear skies, temps in the low-40s and N-NW winds at 15-25mph +gusting.  Tomorrow... sunny with a high of 61° and still blustery with NW winds at 15-25mph.  For the weekend... Saturday will be sunny with a high of 60° and Sunday will be partly sunny with temps in the upper 50s.  The "New" moon is Saturday which will be creating much higher tides than normal.  Be aware of flood prone areas on the island.

Windy Wednesday

Mornin'!  It's 52° in Wildwood NJ.  It's partly sunny and very blustery this morning.  Even with the sunshine, winds are out of the NW at 15-25mph creating a 45°windchill.  It sucks that I'm still writing the word "windchill" but it's much colder than you'd expect when going on the back porch this morning.  Yesterday turned out to be the first day we felt a taste of summer as the temps got up into the mid-70s with barely a breeze.  It was a great day for prepping the gardens after some morning trekking around the island.  Wildwood's in full bloom this time of year.
Today will be windy with a mix of clouds and sunshine.  Temps will rise up a bit and be in the upper 50s with NW winds at 20-30mph +gusting.  Tonight... mostly clear, 39°,  NW winds at 15-25mph +gusting providing that... ol' windchill and that ol' winter feel..  Tomorrow... almost a repeat of today with sunshine and windy conditions as temps will be in the mid-upper 50s with the NW winds sticking around at 20-25mph +gusting.  As for this coming weekend... both Saturday and Sunday look sunny and not as windy with temps seasonable... mid-upper 50s with Saturday being the sunnier of the 2 days.

Beautiful Start To The Day With A Bit Of Rain Later

Mornin'!  It's 55° in Wildwood NJ.  First thing I did (after putting the coffee on) was step out onto the back porch and soak it all in.  What a spectacular Spring morning down the Shore!  Ms Sun's up, there's some of those hazy, milky clouds in the sky, and the gentle winds are out of the S-SE at 5-10mph.  The seagulls are all over the place shouting for joy at this beautiful start to the day.  The salt air is amazing some mornings.  Along with stopping to smell the roses, I always try to take time to inhale the rich salty and briny air the island almost always provides.  That being food for the soul.
For today, expect a hazy sky this morning turning partly cloudy, then completely dark and cloudy (much like yesterday).  We should see rainfall by this afternoon (70% chance). Temps will rise into the mid-upper 60s with SW winds at 10-15mph.  Tonight... rain (80% chance), then clouds decreasing by the overnight.  Temps will drop into the upper 40s with NW winds ramping up at 15-25mph.  Tomorrow... partly cloudy, windy and much cooler than today.  Temps should be in the low-mid 50s with NW winds at 20-30mph +gusting.  I swear March still has a grasp of us as full-on Spring seems to cease to exist most of the time.  This morning is certainly the exception as it's Spring at its finest.  55 days until Summer by the way.   And, we'll probably jump right from these chilly, blustery days of Spring right into the hot and humid Summer weather without so much of a blink of an eye.

A Lovely Sunday

Mornin'!  It's 53° in Wildwood NJ.  It's another beauty with Ms Sun rising over the horizon and light breezes out of the E-SE at 6-8mph.  The island birds sound like they're all in approval of this lovely Sunday morning.  We're going to have a nice day down the Shore with a good deal of sunshine, temps in the low-60s and E-NE winds at 15-20mph.  Tonight... clear to partly cloudy, low around 50° and E-NE winds at 10-15mph.  Tomorrow... an overcast day with plenty of cloud cover, temps in the mid-upper 50s and Easterly winds at 10-20mph.

Mornin'!  It's 51° in Wildwood NJ.  We're under partly cloudy skies as Ms Sun's peeking through some broken clouds along the horizon.  It seems the marsh side (backside) of the island is much clearer.  Breezes are out of the E-NE at 8-10mph.  It'll be a partly sunny day with some clouds in the mix along with temps in the mid-upper 50s and Easterly winds at 10-15mph.  Tonight... partly cloudy skies, temps around 52° and SE breezes at 5-10mph.  Tomorrow... mostly sunny skies with some clouds in the mix along with temps in the low-60s and Easterly winds at 10-20mph.  At this time, it looks like Monday and Tuesday are leaning toward being gray days with some rain in the forecast (especially on Tuesday).

Earth Day - 4/22/22

Mornin'!  It's Earth Day.  What can we do to save the Earth?  Today's our reminder to do whatever we can to protect the environment, restore damage ecosystems and live a more sustainable life.  It all began 52 years ago to remind us to "Invest In Our Planet".  Seems like we're running out of time.  And, on that ominous note, here's today's weather.

Mornin'!  It's 43° in Wildwood NJ.  It's sunny and bright with NW winds at 15-20mph.  Even though my furnace is blaring, sunshine is pouring all throughout my home this morning.  It's cold outside with a windchill of 36°.  Expect plentiful sunshine today with a high of 56° and W-NW winds at 10-20mph.  Tonight... a few passing clouds with a low of 47° and Southerly winds (much calmer) at 5-10mph.  Tomorrow... partly cloudy start becoming cloudy by the afternoon.  Temps will be in the mid-upper 50s with blustery winds out of the S-SE at 15-25mph  For the weekend... Saturday looks partly cloudy and Sunday looks partly sunny with both days having seasonable temps hovering right around 60°.

Mornin'!  It's 42° in Wildwood NJ.  It's partly cloudy with Ms Sun doing her best to shine down this morning.  Winds are out of the W-NW at 20-30mph +gusting.  It sure feels like Winter's back as we have a windchill of 35° right now.  I truly thought I was all finished with having a furnace blaring but it had to be done... the heater's back on!  I was freezing in my wind-shook, cold, damp house.  Wildwood just survived a major Spring Nor'easter with serious winds, beach erosion and tidal/island flooding on the overnight.  Around midnight I was standing at my front door watching trashcans, big planks of wood, my neighbor's gate as well as other large debris float (at a nice clip I might add) all around the streets and sidewalks and parked cars which were surrounding by wavy, fast-moving water.  Scary night.  Luckily and gratefully, we did a property check first thing this morning and no damage here. 
As for today's weather, it looks like a mix of clouds and sun with gusty winds as temps get up into the mid-upper 50s feeling like the mid-40s.  Winds will be out of the West at 20-30mph +gusting.  Tonight... clear skies, W-NW winds at 20-30mph and temps in the low-40s (feeling like the mid-30s).  Tomorrow... Spring returns with sunny conditions, temps near 60° and W-NW winds at 10-20mph.

50-50 Monday With A Nor'Easter Coming

Mornin'!  It's 44° in Wildwood NJ.  Happy Monday.  Wildwood's got some lovely sunshine at the moment with winds out of the East at 15-20mph.  Enjoy this lovely Spring morning although a bit chilly because it's going to be a miserable Monday afternoon, evening and overnight by all forecast accounts.  Expect clouds to roll on in later this afternoon along with the rains (100% chance) and winds out of the East at 25-35mph +gusting.  Temps will rise into the low-50s.  Tonight... there's a Nor'easter hitting our coast with a Coastal Flood Warning posted from 7pm tonight until 3am tomorrow.  Expect heavy, wind-driven rain. Those very stiff winds will be out of the West at 25-35mph +gusting. They're saying 1-2" possible.  Tonight's temps will drop to where they are now... low-mid 40s.  Tomorrow... partly sunny with lots of clouds in the mix, temps in the low-50s and West winds at 20-30mph +gusting.  Jeez... you'd think March is still lurking with these very annoying winds.  Enjoy this morning and the sunshine and salty effervescence!  We're about to get nailed.  Oh... be aware of those high tides and where you drive or park your vehicle!

Easter Sunday

Easter Weekend

Mornin'!  Happy Easter Weekend!  It's a Full Moon Weekend too as the "Pink" moon which is its name this month is glowing in the night sky.  This moon heralded the appearance of the "moss pink" or wild ground "pink" phlox (one of the first spring wildflowers) giving it its name. 
It's 51° in Wildwood NJ.  We're under partial cloud cover as Ms Sun's up and doing everything in her power to shine this morning. Passover and Holy Friday

Mornin'!  Happy Passover!  It's the start of Passover at sundown today and will continue until April 23rd.  It's also Good Friday a holy day for Christians which marks the death of Christ.  As for our island, lots of folks are here visiting during this holiday time of year.  Unfortunately, the amusement piers won't be open until the end of April / beginning of May.  The shops and arcades and most restaurants are open but check first before making plans as it's still early in the season and there's still a lot of places closed and readying for their 2022 season. 
For the weather... It's 53° in Wildwood NJ.  We're sunny and bright without a cloud in the sky this morning.  Breezes are light out of the NW at 6-8mph.  We're going to have lots of sunshine today with temps in the mid-upper 60s and NW winds shifting to the S-SW and ramping up at 10-20mph.  Tonight... partly cloudy skies become overcast overnight with temps dropping into the low-mid 50s and S-SW winds at 10-20mph.  Tomorrow... cloudy, high near 60° and S-SW winds ramping up even more at 15-25mph.  There's a 50% chance of rain tomorrow night. Lovely First Half Of The Day

Mornin'!  It's 55° in Wildwood NJ.  We've got sunshine, winds (S-SW 15-20mph) and the island birds squawks, chirps, whistles, shrills and laughs.  Lot's of birds this time of year and it's fantastic!  As of late, when I talk on the phone with friends and family, I sit outside since the weather is becoming very pretty and inevitably everyone I'm chatting with says "Oh, I can hear the seagulls!"  I try not to take the island birds for granted as they're a huge part of the island's ambiance and I truly enjoy them.
Today's 110 years since the Titanic sank and 1,517 lives were lost.  The ocean's temp was 27°.  I'm not sure why but I've been fascinated with the history of it since I was a little girl.  Seldom while standing along the shore line looking at the mighty and majestic ocean do I not think about that momentous event.  To all those on the Titanic... today's blog is in your honor.  
We're going to have a mix of clouds and sun to kick things off.  Clouds will develop and begin increasing and by this late this afternoon we may see rain showers near dinner time (60% chance). Last Of The Dismals

Mornin'!  It's 47° in Wildwood NJ.  Once again, we begin our day down the Shore with thick, damp cloud cover.  Winds out of the NE at 15-20mph.  It's cold and raw with patchy fog outside this morning as we wait for the anticipated rain showers which will be checking in a little later.  Showers will be developing sometime late morning / early afternoon (thunderstorms with strong gusty winds possible too).  Temps will be in the mid-50s with East winds at 15-25mph.  Tonight... showers likely still with the possibility of a thunderstorm with an isolated shower overnight.  It should become partly clear (overnight) with a low around 45° along with SE winds at 10-15mph.  Tomorrow... Ms Sun returns with a high near 60°!  Saturday and Sunday look to be mostly sunny days and nights with some clouds in the mix.  Temps will be seasonable... mid-upper 50s and it'll be breezy on Sunday but not so much on Saturday.  Oh... Monday looks sunny too!

Rainy Humpday

Mornin'!  It's 53° in Wildwood NJ.  It's currently gray, gloomy and raining down the Shore.  Breezes out of the NE at 18-22mph.  It's a perfectly miserable morning as we're totally saturated from the overnight torrential rains.  It's not raining as hard at the moment and will continue to rain lightly into the afternoon. Temps are staying where they are now... low 50s with NE winds ramping up at 20-30mph +gusting.  Tonight... cloudy with showers after midnight (40% chance).  Temps will drop into the mid-upper 40s with E-NE winds at 10-20mph.  Tomorrow... rain likely throughout the day with thunderstorms by evening and remember this is a weather system with strong, gusty winds.  Tomorrow's temps will be in the mid-50s with E-SE winds at 15-25mph +gusting.  We'll no doubt see tidal flooding and beach erosion today and tomorrow.  Be aware of low-lying areas on the island that flood and avoid parking or traversing through any flood waters.  This coming weekend will be partly sunny both days with seasonable temps (mid-50s) as Saturday will be the calmer of the two days.

April Showers (Downpours) On The Way

Mornin'!  It's 47° in Wildwood NJ.  We're under cloud cover with breezes out of the SE at 7-12mph.  There are two weather systems on their way to the Jersey shores. The first one comes later this morning with a steady rain on tap for today.  The showers will continue through this afternoon into tonight.  The potential for heavy rainfall is likely... 100%.  Today's temps will be around 52° with SE winds at 10-20mph. Tonight... low around 48°, E-SE winds at 15-25mph and 1-2" of rain is expected.  Tomorrow... periods of rain early with a high of 57° and NE winds at 15-25mph.  Thursday is the second weather system with light rain kicking off the day as severe thunderstorms are likely to developing by the afternoon with more saturating rain throughout day as well as into the evening.  It'll be very windy with seasonable temps. You might want to dig out the wellies.

Lovely Spring Day

Mornin'!  It's 40° in Wildwood NJ.  Ms Sun's up and shining brightly with not a cloud in the sky!  It feels like 33° though as the breeze  is 10-15mph out of the NW.  It'll be a Spring Beauty today with sunshine and temps in the low-mid 50s with W-NW breezes at 10-15mph.  Tonight... partly clear skies giving way to cloudy skies late.  Temps will drop back into the low-40s and Southerly breezes at 10-15mph.  Tomorrow... rain early, then remaining cloudy with showers off and on in the afternoon.  Temps will get into the 50s again along with 10-15mph winds out of the SE.  Chance of rain is 80%.  It'll probably rain all night tomorrow night right into Wednesday morning possibly into mid-day.  If you ask me, the gardens could use some rain right about now as all the seeds are in and the bulbs haven't had a good saturation in over a week. Mornin'!  It's 46° in Wildwood NJ.  We're under cloud cover as Ms Sun's working her way to the horizon to begin her detail of shining down on us today.  We probably won't see (or feel) her for awhile though as it's supposed to be mostly cloudy the first half of the day (at least until around noon).  In fact there's a slight chance of a rain shower (20% chance) this morning.  It's currently calm and quiet (except for the roar of the ocean in the distance) with winds out of the SE at 5-7mph.  So, for today this cloudy, unsettled morning should turn into a partly sunny day with temps probably getting to where they did yesterday... low 60s with SE winds shifting and ramping up out of the W-NW at 15-25mph.  Tonight... mainly clear, low around 40° with NW winds at 15-25mph.  Tomorrow... except for a few afternoon clouds, it'll be mostly sunny with temps in the low 50s and W-NW winds at 10-20mph and by nighttime... shifting to mostly cloudy with temps in the mid-upper 40s.  Tuesday looks cloudy with a rainy afternoon on tap.

April's Here and So Is Macks!

Mornin'!  It's 23° with a windchill of 13° as sleet and hail are covering the island.  April Fools!  If you know me, some kind of joke had to in the blog this morning.  This is no joke... it's 53° in Wildwood NJ.  We're under partly cloudy skies with breezes out of the W-NW at 10-15mph. Ms Sun's trying to shine through all the cloud cover making for a beautiful Bob Ross seascape this morning.  These morning clouds are providing a 60% chance of rain showers.  After that, it'll be a partly sunny afternoon with temps in the low-mid 50s and W-NW winds blowing at 25-35mph.  There's a 30% chance of a passing shower this afternoon and those winds leftover from March will be gusting today into this evening.  Tonight... cold with temps in the upper 30s (no April Fools joke) and W-NW at 20-25mph.  Tomorrow... sunny, low-mid 50s, windy with W-NW winds at 10-20mph.  Sunday... rainy start, becoming partly sunny in the afternoon and temps in the low-50s and much calmer winds.  April brought the New Moon with her this year!  I'm happy April's here and I'm just hoping not too much of those March winds stick around (which usually happens).  One thing is certain... the flowers are coming this month along with Mack's Pizza which opens today!
