Coastal Flood Advisory with High Rip Current Alert Today

This Morning's Webcam Shot - North WW

Mornin'!  It's 72° in Wildwood NJ.  Humidity's 96% with a dewpoint of 71°.  Winds are out of the South at 10-15mph.  Ms Sun's up and doing her best to shine through this morning's cloud cover.  We'll have a mix of sun and clouds this morning with scattered rain and thunderstorms developing this afternoon (60-70% chance).  Storms could be intense with damaging winds.  Temps will be in the upper 70s with South winds at 10-20mph +gusting.  Tonight... 70% chance of thunderstorms, cloudy after midnight, temps around 70° and SW winds at 10-15mph.  Tomorrow... intervals of sun and clouds, temps around 80° and W-SW winds at 5-10mph.  Tomorrow night... cloudy, chance of rain (40-50% chance), low-70s and W-SW winds at 5-10mph.  Tuesday... sunny, mid-70s, NW winds at 5-10mph.  We're under a Coastal Flood Advisory and a High Rip Current Alert.  Tomorrow's the Full Blue Super Moon, the first of 4 Super moons in a row.  It means that its 90% of its closest approach to earth appearing 30% brighter and 14% larger than  usual ("moon illusion").  What's not an illusion is that the moon will have an affect on our tides which will be much higher than usual.  If we have torrential downpours during that time of high tides, we'll no doubt have coastal/tidal flooding.  Be aware of your high tide times and low-lying (flood-zone) areas.  Don't drive through flood waters. And, thanks to Ernesto we'll have serious risky Rip Currents today.  Do not enter the ocean unless you're near a lifeguard.  They'll probably instruct you to stay out of the water or only go in ankle deep.  Be safe out there!
